Chili’s restaurants in two states are donating profits to Planned Parenthood

According to a Facebook post by Planned Parenthood’s chapters in Indiana and Kentucky Chili’s restaurants in those states are donating some 15 percent of their profits to the abortion giant.

All one needs to do is print out this voucher, and put it alongside their check for the restaurant to take the 15 percent and give it over to Planned Parenthood. This promotion is supposed to last through march.

According to LifeSite, this would be the second time Chili’s has been involved with Planned Parenthood.

    This is not the first time that Chili’s has been involved in potential donations to the Planned Parenthood abortion business. A Chili’s restaurant in California initially set up a fundraiser for a local Planned Parenthood abortion clinic but eventually cancelled it after pro-life advocates complained.

    According to a spokesperson for Chili’s parent company, Brinker International, Inc., “The event was canceled after hearing growing concerns from our guests.” Management of the Natomas Chili’s received numerous calls, as the Sacramento community expressed concerns about Chili’s restaurant donating money to Planned Parenthood, which performs over 330,000 abortions every year.

If Chili’s follows the same pattern, then the reaction seen in the comment responses to this promotion show that this promotion may not be available long. Many have shown disgust with the chain, and have vowed never to eat there again.

As TheBlaze has reported before, attitudes toward abortion are beginning to turn sour. The vast majority of Americans neither want to see taxpayer dollars go toward abortions, nor do they believe that 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions should be legal.

Chili’s discontinues giving a portion of its profits to Planned Parenthood after backlash

Just yesterday, TheBlaze reported that the chain restaurant known as Chili’s in the states of Indiana and Kentucky were working in conjunction with Planned Parenthood to offer vouchers that allow customers to give 15% of their bill to the abortion giant.

It would seem that the response from customers was so negative that the chain has now discontinued the promotion, and taken down the voucher from Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky’s Facebook page.

TheBlaze received a statement from Chili’s, saying that it was not their intent to divide communities, and that the event was “never intended to be viewed as a partisan event or political statement.”

We recognize every community is unique, and encourage our restaurant managers and franchise partners to support causes that help bring communities together and leave a positive impact on our valued Guests, neighbors, friends and families we serve.

    Yesterday, we learned that an independent franchise partner of Chili’s in Indiana and Kentucky made the decision to host a Chili’s Give Back Event on behalf of Planned Parenthood Indiana and Kentucky. While our franchise partner had the best intentions; we have received growing feedback and concern from community members regarding the Give Back Event. This feedback does not reflect Chili’s focus on bringing communities together and the event was never intended to be viewed as a partisan event or political statement, therefore we, along with our franchise partner, have decided to cancel the event.

    We will more clearly communicate the focus of Chili’s charitable giving efforts, so that our restaurant managers and franchise partners can feel empowered to support local organizations that bring communities together.”

Planned Parenthood is a major point of contention amongst the two major political parties, with support for the abortion organization being virtually split down party lines. The pro-life and pro-abortion communities generally find the topic of Planned Parenthood to be a very passionate one, and as such, Chili’s may find their reputation among the former community rather damaged for some time.
