Title: Different types of Beings in the Bible
Post by: Christian40 on December 26, 2010, 07:02:33 pm
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."--John 8:32

"But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."--Matthew 24:37

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."--Ephesians 6:12

Different types of Beings according to the Bible:
1) God
Hosts of Heaven. Different types of Angels/Fallen Angels, Good and bad:
2) Cherubims
3) Seraphims
4) Ophanim
5) Archangel
6) Man looking Angels / Watchers
7) Principalities
8) Powers
9) Rulers of the darkness of this world
10) Spiritual Wickedness in High Places
Other beings:
11) Nephilims. Different races of Nephilim; The "Emim" (the fearful ones), The "Rephaim" (the dead ones), and the "Anakim" (the long-necked ones.) Also, we have the - Grigori, Gibborim, Phoenixes, Chalkidri.
12) Humans
13) Demons -- (disembodied spirits of the Nephilim)
14) Animals

Scripture uses other names to describe these degraded fallen angels and their descendents in addition to the word Nephilim, they are...
Rephaim - from the root rapha = spirits, shades Gen. 14:5
Anakim - race of giants Num. 13:33 descendents of Nephilim
Emim - the proud deserters, terrors, race of giants Gen. 14:5
Zuzim- the evil ones, roaming things Gen. 14:5
Zamzummims - the evil plotters, Deut. 2:20
Zophim - watchers, angels who descended Num. 23, distinct from "holy watchers" aligned with God
Sepherim - the many. . . .
Now lets describe some of these 14 Beings I listed:

1) Almighty God: God is the divine creator and judge of everything; the creator of this universe, creator of time and space and matter, etc… So it is safe to say that to describe God is like asking an ant to describe physics. God created time, so therefore he exists outside of time and space and matter. God is “HOLY”, holy means separate; meaning even though God created everything, he is separate from his creation. Everyone tries to put God in a manmade box when describing him, but you can’t do that because God is outside of that box because he is not manmade. God made man, not the other way around. With that said, to give an accurate description of him is utterly impossible! Never the less, I will describe him to the best of what my mind will grasp and allow me. God is the elect most high infinite living holy being that is Omnipotence, Omniscience, Omnipresence and the creator and judge of everything. God is just, loving but also very jealous! It is impossible for God to sin or have sin because sin is an aggression against God. He is our Heavenly Father! Our mind can’t even fathom, grasp or fully understand God and never will until we are with him. When Moses was commissioned by God to be Israel’s liberator from the bondage of Egypt by Pharaoh he asked the name of God to validate his God-given role to the children of Israel (see Exodus 3:14). God simply answered Moses, “ehyeh-asher-ehyah”: “I AM THAT I AM” which derives from the ‘Qal’ imperfect first person form of the verb ‘hayah’: “I WILL BE” and therefore indicates a connection between God’s name “YHWH” or “YAHWEH” or "JEHOVAH" and being itself. YHWH is the source of all being and has being inherent in himself (i.e. He is necessary being). Meaning everything else is contingent being that derives existence from him. The name of God “YHWH” also and most definitely bespeaks transcendence of God. In himself, God is beyond all attributes of language or predications! With that said you should now fully understand that he is the source and foundation of all possibility of utterance and thus is beyond all deferent description.

2) The Cherubims: The Cherubim are first mentioned in the Bible(KJV) in Genesis 3:24, "So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life."
The Tabernacle and the Temple along with their articles contained many repesentations of Cherubim. Chapters 1 and 10 of the book of Ezekiel describe the "four living creatures"(Ezekiel 1:5) as the same beings as the Cherubim(Ezekeil 10). Each had four faces, "As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle."--Ezekiel 1:10, and, "And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle."--Ezekiel 10:14.

They have four faces, four wings, and have the likeness of a man: Ezekiel 1: 5-11:
"Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies."

3) The Sepaphim (Fiery, burning ones/flaming ones): Are one of the highest forms of Hosts or Angelic beings under God. In Isaish 6, we read, "I saw also the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory."
The Seraphim worship God day and night and never leave His presence. They sing the "Thrice Holy" hymn. They left the LORD only once, "And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died."--Numbers 21:6.

4) Ophanim: Ophan means "Wheel" in Hebrew. The Bible describes them like this, "Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold one wheel upon the earth by the living creatures, with his four faces. The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto the colour of a beryl: and they four had one likeness: and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel in the middle of a wheel. When they went, they went upon their four sides: and they turned not when they went. As for their rings, they were so high that they were dreadful; and their rings were full of eyes round about them four." -- Ezekiel 1:15-18.

5) Archangel: The Chief/General of and over the Angels/Hosts of Heaven. The Bible(KJV) mentions only ONE Archangel; Michael The Arch-Angel. Gabriel is mentioned in Luke, but not as an Archangel, just a Angel.
Micha'EL in Hebrew means, "who is like EL" i.e. One who is like God (EL). Michael is viewed as the field commander of the Army of God. In Daniel he appears as, "one of the Chief Princes."
6) Man looking Angels / Watchers:  [non- human or "alien" intelligent beings] exist diverse myriads. The concept of an ANGEL comes from the Greek aggelos from the Hebrew ago meaning "one going forth" or "one leading"; messenger. Not all angels are "good". Not all angels continue to do God's will, although all angels were originally created by God to convey His message. Some angels rebelled against God's plan. Some angels go forth to give their own message; some angels go forth to lead mankind AWAY from the truth. But all angels are more intelligent and powerful beings than mere humans, it is easy to see how the rebellious angels could have been worshipped as gods, when they descended to the Earth before the Flood, and deceived humans (Genesis 6).

The angels are represented throughout the Bible as a body of spiritual beings who intermediate between God and men: "For thou hast made him (man) a little lower than the angels" (Psalm 8:5). Angels, just as mankind, are created beings; "Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.... Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. He commanded and they were created" (Psalm 148:2, 5: Colossians 1:16, 17). Contrary to popular belief, the Bible does not say that the only intelligent beings populating the universe are humans, in fact God created countless "non- human intelligent beings" before mankind. God is known throughout the Bible as the LORD OF HOSTS: Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places. Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?--Job 25:2-3

Among these myriads of angels are those who follow their own rebellious plan instead of God's. Those rebel angels -- who appear in many guises, from ghosts to aliens to "Blessed Virgin Mary" or BVM apparitions like Fatima -- are the intelligent non-human beings behind UFOs and the paranormal. *THEY* have a plan, their message is a deceptive one.

The Old Testament uses revealing descriptive names. Words which describe these beings, such as b'nai Elohim meaning "sons of God", Zophim meaning "the watchers", and Malakh meaning "messengers", (this reference was translated angel in English), are used for the "aerial host" often regardless of alignment. The Book of Enoch tells us the origin of certain "interdimensional intelligences."

My friend David summed it all up this way, QUOTE, " When we compare what people describe UFO's and ET experiences with the scriptures, it becomes obvious that the Bible is telling us that these things are demonic in nature. Test the spirits....

An example from ...the movie The Fourth Kind...the alien speaking through the guy on video tape says "I will enforce my will..." Hmmm....who said "I will, I will..." in Isaiah 14?

Peter Ruckman, in his commentary on Revelation, said something very interesting about angels. He said that the definition of angel is more than just 'messenger' in Rev. 2 and 3. Angels are more than messengers -- they wage war, the kill, they bring judgment, and a whole bunch of other things.

Ruckman said the blanket definition of an angel is "appearance." In every instance, the angel appears to do something. Apply it to any passage and it makes sense:

The angel of the Lord is an 'appearance of the Lord.'
An angel of light is an 'appearance' of light. Get it? It 'appears' to be light...

So, my point: Paul said, Gal 1:8 But though we, or AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

Get that? An angel, or AN APPEARANCE FROM HEAVEN? If anything appears from heaven (like an alien or UFO) and preaches any other gospel, it is accursed! The idea of aliens attacks faith in Christ and the authority of scripture." END-QUOTE by David.

7) Principalities: The concept of principalities is understood by the Greek word arche meaning chief or ruler. These principalities are ruling devil spirits possessing executive authority or governmental rule in the world.  As we will see, this ruling power usually involves a particular nation, people or race. There are evil angels ruling the kingdoms of the world that oppose the truth of God, and of which Satan is the chief prince or ruler, of both the world system and its organization of demons, as noted in the gospel of Matthew.

In Matthew 12:24, the devil is called "Beelzebub" meaning lord of the dwelling, in which these wicked spirits are subject to and operate under Satan's dominion. They, like their chief prince, direct, control, rule and carry out the present darkness of this world.

The American Heritage Dictionary defines principalities as:
1. A territory ruled by a prince or from which a prince derives his title.
2. The position, authority, or jurisdiction of a prince; sovereignty.
The idea of prince devil spirits ruling or controlling a region is supported in the Old Testament book of Daniel, chapter 10.  Daniel is visited by an angel in response to his prayer to God. This angel, who was sent by God to answer Daniel's prayer, was delayed for 21 days because of a battle that took place between God's angel and "a prince of the kingdom of Persia."Daniel reveals the angel's message in the following verses:

Daniel 10:12-13 (King James Version)
"12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia."

The spiritual battle, for this angel, was of such magnitude that Michael, the archangel of God and designated prince of Israel, assisted the angel in battle. Another enemy of God, the prince of Greece, is also mentioned in the verses below.

Daniel 10:20-21 (King James Version)
"20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
21 But I will shew thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince."

The book of Daniel gives us an excellent example of how these unseen spiritual entities fight to increase and maintain their realms of influence and control in order to hinder God's purposes.  In addition, as previously stated, these princes are named after the nations or rather their principalities in which they rule.

It is Satan's purpose to deceive these nations and to keep them from obtaining a knowledge of God's truth and salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. In the book of Revelation, chapter 20, Satan is depicted as a deceiver of nations. The Greek word for deceive is planaho, and according to Strong's Greek Dictionary, this word means to "cause to roam from safety, truth or virtue, go astray, seduce, wander, and to be out of the way."

Satan's major success, in deceiving a nation, is due to a lack of discernment on the part of the people.  The people are blind to the invisible forces of supernatural evil that are operating and influencing their visible human agents of political, social, religious and philosophical programs. Satan's greatest victory would be to convince the world that he just doesn't exist. However, God signifies the devil as the author of sin, sickness and death, and warns us to be alert and vigilant because the devil, as a roaring lion roams about seeking whom he may devour (1 Pet. 5:8).

The devil controls the kingdoms of the world and we are not to underestimate his influence and power, nor believe that this is the will of God.  God is telling us to "stand" against these evil forces by equipping ourselves with the power of God, and looking unto Christ as our example.

Luke 4:5-7 (King James Version)
"5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine."

These are "kingdoms" - From G935; properly royalty, that is, (abstractly) rule, or (concretely) a realm(literally or figuratively): - kingdom, + reign.

There will also come a day in which we are told in the book of Revelation,
Revelation 11:15 (King James Version) "And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever."

However, until this Scripture is fulfilled we can only conclude, as the Apostle Paul instructs, that our wrestling involves principalities or peoples or regions under the influence and deception of Satan.  Satan is the prince or ruler of the kingdoms of this world, also described in the Bible as the "kingdom of darkness," in which we have our spiritual warfare.  In addition, let us not be fooled, because Satan can and does prosper evil people in the world.

8 & 9) Powers & Rulers of the darkness of this world: The Greek word for "powers" is exousia which means derived or conferred authority, the warrant or right to do something, or delegated influences of control.  Although the word "powers" is left unclear as to Paul's precise meaning in the verse, this expression is used elsewhere in scripture to infer the powers that be in authority. In keeping with the context of this verse, this would include all high-ranking, evil supernatural powers and the power of sin and evil in operation in the world. The fruits of this type of evil can probably be seen in drug cartels, gross poverty, plagues, terrorism, and other heinous crimes against humanity, even toward the animal kingdom.

Some Christian authors also associate "world rulers" with magic and demonic pagan gods such as the Ephesians' Artemis and seems to be in line with the pagan culture of ancient times, in which temples were dedicated to these demonic pagan deities. And let us not forget "Molech," the national god of the Ammonites' in Old Testament history.  The priests would place the sacrificial children into the brass hands of the image, in which these helpless victims would slip into the fire below. This is described in Scripture as the "abominations of the heathen" (2 kings 16:3).

10) Spiritual Wickedness in High Places: The Greek word for wickedness is ponēria and means depravity and particularly in the sense of malice and mischief, plots, sins, and iniquity (Strong's Gk. Dict.).

Malice [A. H. Dict.] is defined as:
1. A desire to harm others or to see others suffer; extreme ill will or spite.
2. Law -- The intent, without just cause or reason, to commit a wrongful act that will result in harm to another.
Satan is also depicted as the prince of the power of the air

Since Satan is the prince of the power of the air, these wicked spirits, in high places, are often understood to be the collective organization of all of Satan's devil spirits.  These malevolent spirits work evil and mischief and operate in our atmosphere. They operate as close to the very air we breathe, and reach to realms beyond.  All kinds of spiritual filth are propagated , in these realms, for the purpose of humanity's deception and subsequent destruction. Prior to becoming a Christian we too walked according to the prince of the power of the air.

Ephesians 2:2-3 (King James Version)
"2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others."

"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

As Christians we are delivered from the power of the prince of the air, and from the sinful nature that once ruled our path in life. When we received God's Holy Spirit, at the moment of our conversion to Christ, we were translated from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of God's light, in which we now have God in Christ in us. We are continually delivered and empowered by God as we walk according to His Word and Spirit that He has given us. As we do this, we take our seat in the heavenlies with Christ, for scripture reads,

Ephesians 2:5-7 (King James Version)
"5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."

Jesus is also called a Prince, He is called the Prince of Peace and of Life (Isa. 9:6 and Acts 3:15) Whose kingdom plays no part in this present world system of darkness. Prior to His arrest, Jesus said to His disciples,
John 14:30 (King James Version)
"Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me."

John 18:36 (King James Version)
"Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence."

Please note: Jesus is not speaking against the Jews, for Jesus and His followers were Jewish. He is speaking against the hypocritical religious authorities who would have Jesus killed versus lose their sphere of control over the people of God, in which their own belly was their god.

The details of God's plan, His provision of escape from Satan's kingdom of darkness through faith in Christ, was kept a mystery from the beginning of time.  It wasn't until the revelation of the Son of God on earth, and His complete victory in His death and resurrection for the salvation of humanity, that the mystery of salvation through Christ is revealed to us.  The Apostle Paul states,

1 Corinthians 2:7-10 (King James Version)
"But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God."

In other words, if God's enemies knew that the Lord's death would bring the Kingdom of God and His power into the hearts of every believer, with His gift of Holy Spirit, and thus bring God's light into the world, they would not have crucified Him.

11) Nephilims: In short, Half Angel, Half Humen hybrids! The word from the hebrew is נְפִילִים , the transliteration is "Nephilim" and the proper translation as rendered by the KJV is "Giants, mighty men which were of old, men of renown." The word Nephilim derives from the Hebrew root npl (נָפַל), "to fall" which also includes "to cause to fall" and "to kill, to ruin". The Brown-Driver-Briggs Lexicon gives the meaning as "giants."

Always in the OT, the phrase "sons of God" always referred to Angels. The NT is the only time the "sons of God" is in reference to Born-Again Christians. Thats why CONTEX is very important. So the NT phrase of "sons of God" = Born-Again Christians. The OT phrase of "sons of God" = Angels! 100% of the time in the OT the term "sons of God" is in reference to Angels! Let me give you an Example of this. In the Book of Job, we read:

"Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it."-- Job 1:6-7

It's talking about Angels there, because there is no way possible a man could come with Satan to present himself before the LORD! The Bible says NO MAN has seen the Father and lived, and to be absent from the Body is to be present with the LORD, and that it is appointed unto man once to die, and then the judgment.

Now lets go to Genesis 6, and it should make alot more sense to you now:

"[1] And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,[2] That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.[3] And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.[4] There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.[5] And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.[6] And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.[7] And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.[8] But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.[9] These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God." --Genesis 6:1-9

You just read in there that there were "giants" in the earth in those days and the "sons of God" came in unto the "daughters of men", and "they bare children to them", the same became [Nephilim] mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Lets look at verse 4 again and every thing i put in brackets "[]" will be my words explaing this more to you:

"There were "giants"-[Nephilim] in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the "sons of God"-[Angels or in this case Fallen Angels] came in unto the "daughters of men"-[female earthly HUMANs], and "they"-[human females/daughters of men] bare children to them {the children were the "Nephilim" or half Angel, half human hybrids} , the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.{They were giants, and this is also were all the mythological stories of gods comes from, these hybrids}"

Different races of Nephilim; The "Emim" (the fearful ones), The "Rephaim" (the dead ones), and the "Anakim" (the long-necked ones.) Also, we have the - Grigori, Gibborim, Phoenixes, Chalkidri.

Also, outside of the Bible, there is some extra Biblical work about all this. The story of the Nephilim is chronicled more fully in the Book of Enoch. The Greek, Aramaic, and main Ge'ez manuscripts of 1 Enoch and Jubilees obtained in the 19th century and held in the British Museum and Vatican Library, connect the origin of the Nephilim with the fallen angels, and in particular with the egrḗgoroi (watchers). MORE ON THIS LATER.

12) Humans: Biological beings made in the image of God Almighty, that consists of body, soul, and spirit.

13) Demons: Disembodied spirits of the Nephilim.

14) Animals: Do I realy need to explain what Animals are??? lol
