Title: Women under a particular curse. Genisis 3:16 Post by: akfools on October 20, 2011, 05:30:43 am All mankind is under the curse of sin (Romans 3:9; 11:32), are women under a particular curse. Besides their pregnancy and labor being ill-fated, is their relationship with men also stricken by God?
Gen 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. When the Lord said, "thy desire shall be to thy husband," He was not speaking of the woman's great love for man. On the contrary, God was cursing the woman with the desire to control her husband. This statement is made in the context of condemnation (Genesis 3:1-19), but also God uses of this same phrase to Cain in Genesis 4:7. Gen 4:7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. Sin desired to get Cain to submit and be controlled by evil. Sin desired Cain, but Cain was told that he should overcome sin's desire. Likewise, the woman was told that she will desire her husband. She will desire to get him to submit to her. But, he shall rule over her nevertheless. What do we see in society as a result of this curse? Women desiring to rule over not only their husbands, but other men as well. Title: Re: Women under a particular curse.
