Title: Introduction
Post by: Barbie on August 07, 2012, 08:33:58 am
Hello everyone....I am new to this board and would like to introduce myself. I had been so frustrated seeing so much in all realms and facets of life pointing toward Christ's return. I have been searching for truth through God's word, prayer and yes the internet, which lead me to Dr. Scott Johnson among others. I have been looking for like minded Christians to learn from and fellowship with...as yet, I am not a member of any church. This is partially due to truly not knowing which is closest to the true word of God, partially due to my erratic work schedule and partially due to my sinful sloth factor.
Since immersing myself in the search for God's truth, I have experienced two outward manifistations......The first is that I have always prior had a difficult time with the KJV, and much preferred "The Living Bible, The Way". Due to no conscious decision on my part, for some reason, I located  a KJV that I had tucked away and began to use it instead. Lo and Behold, not only can I now understand in ways I never have before, but I do not know why I ever preferred the other. It never ceases to amaze me how God's Word through the Bible is an actual living thing. No matter how many times I may have read a chapter or a passage, there is always something new that God can show me. Try that with any other book....it just does not happen!
The second thing is that I....who was immersed in today's music (I am 55 years old but could discuss Eminem, Rhianna and Lady Gaga with my grandchildren and sing along!) have stopped listening to what I now know is Satanic music. I have turned my car radio dial to Christian radio instead ( I know that this too must be sifted and examined and not just taken at face value!)
My great saddness and shame is that my two grown children are not saved. I raised them in the Lutheran church, Missouri synod (very lukewarm....not unlike myself, as I was still "in the world", and thinking I could serve 2 Masters) My kid's now think I am a nut job/conspiracy theorist, and like most of American's, can not see what is occuring before their very eyes. I pray for God to open their eyes, ears and hearts and accept Christ as their Savior. I also pray for God to guide me to say the right things, but so far I seem to only incense them and pile more ridicule on my head. I can only pray for God's will to be done.
I am very glad to have found this site and pray God's blessings for you all, Barbie

Yes, we are living in some VERY interesting times...it's not so much that society has gone way down into the pit with all kinds of wickedness, but even worse there's just NO biblical truth in our modern-day "churches" anymore. The KJV is rarely used, the pastors's sermons are secular, Roman Catholics are somehow praised, Freemasons and occultists have infiltrated all these "denominations", as has Christian Rock and other nonsense like alot of these Postmodernism teachings from the Emergent Church(ie-Rick Warren, Rob Bell, etc), etc.

I too used to read these other versions like the NIV until someone on another message forum showed me how Lucifer is deleted in Isaiah 14:12 in these other versions(and made to look like it was Jesus Christ casted out from heaven). It was at that point when alarms started triggering off - Praise the Lord he showed this!

Anyhow, yeah, even with our family members, things can be a bit rough. I've tried to show my family members the deceptions of the other versions, but they didn't want to listen. But again, it's them. Let the will of thy Lord be done.

Overall, I agree, alot of these deceptions we see around us can be very subtle(ie-the rock music you mentioned above, alot of it just seems "harmless")...but of course Satan is the most subtle beast of the field.

We are truely living in the last days - the writing is on the wall. Thank you for your testimony, Barbie! Please feel free to post around the boards! :)

Please feel free to look around. Our ministry here is basically to be watchmen of what is taking place in the world around us, as Jesus tells us, "Watch".

Hello, we are pretty friendly here, it is our "secret" corner in cyberspace, and there is good stuff on here.
