Catholic church excommunicates Brazil priest for liberal views

But hides ped0philes and keeps Nancy Pelosi....  ::)

The Catholic Church has excommunicated a Brazilian priest after he defended homosexuality, open marriage and other practices counter to Church teaching in online videos.

In a statement released late on Monday, the priest's diocese said Father Roberto Francisco Daniel, known to local parishioners as Padre Beto, had "in the name of 'freedom of expression' betrayed the promise of fealty to the Church."

The priest "injured the Church with grave statements counter to the dogma of Catholic faith and morality." The actions amount to "heresy and schism," the statement said, the penalty for which is excommunication, or expulsion from the Church.

The rare punishment follows what Daniel's bishop and the priest himself said were repeated rebukes about the videos and other public activities, such as a radio broadcast and local newspaper column, in which he challenged Church doctrine.

The 47-year-old cleric, who studied theology in Germany, is popular in the southeastern city of Bauru, where he has been a priest since 2001. He is known for his rock T-shirts, a silver stud pierced through his right ear and his habit of posing, as on his official Facebook page, with a glass of beer.

On Facebook and Twitter, Daniel posted a brief statement about the excommunication: "I feel honored to belong to the long list of people who have been murdered and burned alive for thinking and searching for knowledge."

SPREAD OF MODERATE VIEWS

Daniel's excommunication, which prompted headlines across Brazil and protests in social media, illustrates the rising influence of more moderate social views in Brazil, Latin America's biggest country, and much of the rest of the region.

Progressive stances on sexuality, birth control, scientific research and other delicate topics for the Church are increasingly common in Latin America, home to 42 percent of the world's Catholics, more than any other region worldwide.

The shifting views are among the many challenges faced by Pope Francis, an Argentine who ascended in March to become the first Latin American pope in history.

The excommunication comes just two months before Francis is scheduled to attend World Youth Day, expected to attract as many as 2 million young Catholics to Rio de Janeiro.

Though Francis is known to be a traditionalist on social issues and Church doctrine, his appointment raised hopes that the first non-European pope in 13 centuries would do more than his predecessors to modernize Catholicism.

But Daniel's beliefs clearly went too far for church leaders.

In one of the recent videos he posted on YouTube.com and his own Website, the priest said a married person who chose to have an affair, heterosexual or otherwise, would not be unfaithful as long as that person's spouse allowed it. "If someone is in an extramarital relationship and that relationship is accepted by the spouse, then faithfulness still exists there," he said.

A "REBEL SON"

In a telephone interview, Daniel said his statements "are personal reflections that should be considered and discussed in the dialogue of the church." The excommunication, he said, is "the sad act of a lukewarm and disengaged church that is out of touch with today's society."

The diocese retained a church expert in canonical law to oversee the excommunication process. The diocese also initiated a separate process at the Vatican through which Daniel will be stripped of clerical authority.

Last Tuesday, Bishop Caetano Ferrari gave Daniel a letter asking him to take the videos offline and publicly retract his statements. In an interview posted on the diocese Web site shortly afterward, Ferrari called Daniel "brilliant," but characterized him as a "rebel son" who "crosses the line."

On Monday, Daniel said he went to the diocese headquarters planning to renounce his clerical duties rather than retract any of his comments. But before he had a chance, the bishop and canonical expert made him face a committee of Church officials.

"It was a trial," Daniel said. "I told them I was not there to be tried, that I had not been indicted."

Shortly afterward, the Church issued the statement announcing his excommunication.

REP. PAUL RYAN NOW SUPPORTS GAY ADOPTION

According to USA Today 2012 GOP Vice Presidential candidate Paul Ryan, a Roman Catholic, has chosen to ignore church teaching that homosexuality is a sin against God and now approves of homosexual couples adopting children. “Asked at a town-hall-style meeting Monday in Wisconsin about the issue, Ryan said he would “vote differently these days” and still opposes gay marriage. In 1999, the congressman voted in favor of banning same-sex couples in the District of Columbia from adopting.”

Catholic bishops in U.S. urged to deny communion to pro-aborts

A pro-life organization is hopeful the Vatican will address communion issues within the Catholic Church in America.

In late March, Pope Francis sent a letter to his former bishops in Argentina instructing them to follow church teachings and deny communion to those who support abortion, euthanasia, and crimes against the family. "This responsibility weighs particularly over legislators, heads of governments, and health professionals," said the letter.

Judie Brown of American Life League (ALL) suggests sending a similar directive to American bishops, "encouraging them to reflect on the words of the pope and to, in fact, enforce Canon Law 915 in this country so that pro-abortionists in public life who claim to be Catholic can no longer receive Holy Communion because they will be denied the sacrament."

In a letter to all U.S. Catholic bishops, Brown urges that they deny the sacrament to every pro-abortion Catholic in public life "who has not repented of his support for the heinous crime of abortion." Michael Hichborn, director of Defend the Faith for ALL, co-signed the letter to the American bishops.

According to the longtime pro-life activist, if church laws are not enforced, the leadership develops a mentality that it is acceptable to break them.

"There have been a few bishops in the United States, I believe there are 12 of them, who have said they would deny communion," Brown tells OneNewsNow. "But when you have a majority of bishops - in fact a vast majority, more than 190 - who will not enforce the law, then the bishops make a mockery of the sacrament of Eucharist. And of course, pro-abortion politicians in particular take advantage of that at every turn."

Brown will soon travel to the Vatican in part to ask Pope Francis to take similar action in America.

"The Word of God is so clear and it just seems to me that when people try to confuse it, they get in an awful lot of trouble - not only in this life, but we all know that eternally there's a price to be paid," states the ALL founder.

Priests Demand Pelosi Renounce Catholicism After Abortion is “Sacred Ground” Comment

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi’s comments that defending late-term abortions is “sacred ground” to her was apparently the last straw for a national organization of Catholic priests active in pro-life work.

“As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this. I don’t think it should have anything to do with politics,” she continued saying about the bill to ban late-term abortions after 20 weeks.

In an open letter to Pelosi, Priests for Life says her comments make a “mockery of the Catholic faith.”

“With this statement, you make a mockery of the Catholic faith and of the tens of millions of Americans who consider themselves “practicing and respectful Catholics” and who find the killing of children — whether inside or outside the womb — reprehensible,” the letter says.

“You speak here of Catholic faith as if it is supposed to hide us from reality instead of lead us to face reality, as if it is supposed to confuse basic moral truths instead of clarify them, and as if it is supposed to help us escape the hard moral questions of life rather than help us confront them,” Father Frank Pavone continues in the letter. “Whatever Catholic faith you claim to respect and practice, it is not the faith that the Catholic Church teaches. And I speak for countless Catholics when I say that it’s time for you to stop speaking as if it were.”

“Abortion is not sacred ground; it is sacrilegious ground. To imagine God giving the slightest approval to an act that dismembers a child he created is offensive to both faith and reason,” the letter adds. “And to say that a question about the difference between a legal medical procedure and murder should not “have anything to do with politics” reveals a profound failure to understand your own political responsibilities, which start with the duty to secure the God-given right to life of every citizen.”

The letter from Pavone concludes: “Mrs. Pelosi, for decades you have gotten away with betraying and misrepresenting the Catholic faith as well as the responsibilities of public office. We have had enough of it. Either exercise your duties as a public servant and a Catholic, or have the honesty to formally renounce them.”

During the press conference, in response to a reporter’s question, Pelosi was upset to be asked about the gruesome abortions and infanticides done by Kermit Gosnell and indicated she opposes the bill the House approved to ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Pelosi falsely called the bill a ban on all abortions.

“They would make it a federal law that there would be no abortion in our country,” Pelosi said.

Maureen Ferguson, Senior Policy Advisor for The Catholic Association, blasted Pelosi’s comments in an email to LifeNews:

“After witnessing firsthand the atrocious human rights abuses taking place inside America’s late-term abortion clinics it is amazing that this did not touch Nancy Pelosi’s heart. What we learned from the Gosnell trial and what we understand is going on inside other clinics is not only human rights abuse but it also puts women in harm’s way. The only difference between the Gosnell ‘after-birth’ abortions and legal late-term abortions is the location of the baby at the time of death. And contrary to Pelosi’s extreme claim that the Franks bill is ‘disrespectful’ to women, the majority of women are opposed to late-term abortions according to a recent Gallup poll.”

Or how about John Roberts and Samuel Alito? Both of these justices have pro-abortion records too(and when they were put up for nomination, both said Roe V Wade is the law of the land).

Contrary to popular belief, U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is not pro-life and rejects the unborn child's right to life. Roberts therefore makes himself an enemy of the unborn child.

A brief catalog of Samuel Alito's abortion-related rulings as a federal judge, with links to the full-text of his actual opinions, shows, contrary to the claim of prominent pro-life leaders, that Justice Alito repeatedly sides with the pro-abortion industry, not only ruling as one would expect from a typical "pro-choice" judge, but issuing opinions as expected from an abortion extremist.

Pelosi laughs off priest’s letter challenging abortion views, says he ‘was acting hysterically’

Come on Frank!!! Take a stand and excommunicate this witch

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has laughed off a starkly worded letter from Priests for Life Founder Fr. Frank Pavone, challenging the self-professed Catholic congresswoman to discard her strongly pro-abortion views.

In an interview with Think Progress, Pelosi said she thought Fr. Pavone was being "hysterical," saying, "The arrogance of it all! It’s like something ancient, medieval." She also said that while she understands what the Catholic Church teaches on abortion, "my faith isn't about what their position is."

Fr. Pavone wrote the letter in response to Pelosi's recent comments describing the issue of late-term abortion as "sacred ground." She made the remarks in response to a question from a reporter about the late-term abortion ban that was recently passed in the House.

During the exchange the congresswoman also described herself as a "practicing and respectful Catholic," but expressed her opposition to the bill, saying, "This shouldn't have anything to do with politics."

In his letter, Pavone had written: "Mrs. Pelosi, for decades you have gotten away with betraying and misrepresenting the Catholic faith as well as the responsibilities of public office. We have had enough of it. Either exercise your duties as a public servant and a Catholic, or have the honesty to formally renounce them."

In the interview with ThinkProress, Pelosi insisted, "My faith is very deep and has been my whole life. I love my faith and my faith has nothing to do with whoever he [Father Frank Pavone] is."

She added, "The Church taught me as I was growing up that every person has a free will and has the responsibility to live up to a moral standard. And I respect women’s judgment and values to do that. Whether this priest thinks his judgment should be another woman’s judgment is absolutely ridiculous to me. But nonetheless it’s what they say."

She said that rather than what the Catholic Church teaches, her faith is "is about, Christ is my savior, the church is his church, and has nothing to do with Priests for Life…"

She concluded saying she "wouldn't even dignify" what Fr. Pavone wrote in his letter. "It was a highly emotional statement that they made. If it were more intellectual I might have paid attention to it. He was acting hysterically."

Fr. Pavone had accused Pelosi of making "a mockery of the Catholic faith and of the tens of millions of Americans who consider themselves 'practicing and respectful Catholics' and who find the killing of children -- whether inside or outside the womb -- reprehensible."

"Whatever Catholic faith you claim to respect and practice, it is not the faith that the Catholic Church teaches," he wrote. "And I speak for countless Catholics when I say that it's time for you to stop speaking as if it were."

WATCH: Nancy Pelosi wearily dismisses Michele Bachmann's DOMA statement

In the aftermath of today's historic Supreme Court decision to strike down the controversial Defense of Marriage Act, Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.) issued a statement on the matter:

"No man, not even a Supreme Court, can undo what a holy God has instituted," Ms. Bachmann said in a statement. "For thousands of years of recorded human history, no society has defended the legal standard of marriage as anything other than between man and woman." She said the court action "will undermine the best interest of children and the best interests of the United States." [MediaIte]

During a press conference on the high court's decision later in the day, a member of the audience asked House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) for her thoughts on Bachmann's statement. As you can see above, Pelosi responded with a weary, "Who cares?" Then she laughed.

Pelosi: GOP needs 'lesson on the birds and the bees' amid abortion fights

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) slammed Republican lawmakers in Washington and in statehouses across the country for attempting to pass new laws restricting abortion rights, saying they needed a lesson on "the birds and the bees."

Pelosi said new laws passed by legislatures in Texas and North Carolina endangered women's ability to engage in family planning in an interview set to air Thursday.

"What is at risk is the discretion of a woman to make judgments about the size and time, timing of her family," Pelosi told MSNBC. "It's respect for the judgment of women about what is good for them, for their families, their health, which is important to their families."

Pelosi added, "The reality is that people in our country do practice birth control and use contraception."

"I don't know if my colleagues need a lesson on the birds and the bees. I really don't get it," Pelosi said.

Pelosi, who is Catholic, said the laws would result in the shuttering of abortion clinics that also provided important women's health services and access to contraception.

"This is women's health, reproductive part of us is part of our health, and-and, especially young women," the House's top Democrat said. "How can they say that we're not going to be doing contraception or we're not going to be doing family planning? And so people focus on the most extreme cases in terms of terminating a pregnancy."

Nancy Pelosi Ditches Catholic Credentials, Can’t Say if Jesus Has Right to Life

Nancy Pelosi further ditched her Catholic credentials again as she was unable to answer a reporter’s question about whether Jesus Christ should have had his right to life protected from conception.

Earlier this year, Pelosi said she has an obligation to pursue public policy “in keeping with the values” of Jesus. Yet, asked by a CNS News reporter late last week whether Jesus has the right to life, Pelosi couldn’t agree.

At her July 29 press briefing, CNSNews asked: “You said at a recent Catholic Community Conference that your favorite word was ‘The Word, as in the word made flesh,’ and that we need to quote, ‘give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the Word.’"

The reporter continued: "So, when was the Word made flesh? Was it at the Annunciation, when Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Sprit, as the Creed says, or was it at the Nativity when he was born of the Virgin Mary? And when did the Word get the right to life?”

“Whenever it was, we bow our heads when we talk about it in church, and that’s where I’d like to talk about that," Pelosi said in response.

The conservative news web site then sent an email to Pelosi’s press secretary Nadeam Elshami seeking clarification.

Elshami responded in an email with the words, “The speaker answered the question. Thanks.”

This isn’t the first time Pelosi has upset pro-life Catholics with her religious talk that fails to honor the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church.

Pelosi has been repeatedly at odds with the Catholic Church, in which she claims membership, over the issue of abortion.

In March, she called on a Catholic saint to help her and her pro-abortion colleague pass a Senate health care bill that contains massive abortion funding. Not only did Pelosi upset pro-life Catholics in so doing, but she got the date wrong concerning the saint she mentioned.

Pelosi has claimed to be a good Catholic while advancing abortion at a rapid pace.

In a 2006 interview with Clift, Pelosi regretted that her family is “very pro-life” and would “like it if I were not so vocally pro-choice.” But, she proclaimed, “To me it isn’t even a question. God has given us a free will.”

Last year she said the "free will" of women wanting abortions outweighs pro-life Catholic teachings.

And those comments followed on Pelosi thanking God that the Senate health care bill funds abortions.

Vatican Official: Pelosi Shouldn’t Receive Communion

Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke said that Nancy Pelosi should be denied communion because her support of abortion is in conflict of her Catholic faith. He took particular issue with the minority leader’s refusal to comment on abortionist and murderer Kermit Gosnell because she said “as a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground” for her.

“To say that these are simply questions of Catholic faith which have no part in politics is just false and wrong,” Cardinal Burke said in an interview with The Wanderer, a Catholic newspaper. “This is a person who obstinately, after repeated admonitions, persists in a grave sin — cooperating with the crime of procured abortion.”

“For Catholic institutions or individuals to give recognition to such persons, to honor them in any way, is a source of grave scandal for which they are responsible,” he continued. “In a certain way, they contribute to the sinfulness of the individuals involved.”

The cardinal said he feared for Pelosi “if she does not come to understand how gravely in error she is” and called on her to look to St. Thomas More as inspiration; More was a 16th-century member of Parliament who was executed for defending his Catholic faith.

Burke, a Wisconsin native, previously served as Archbishop of St. Louis. Since 2008, he has served as the prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, which is the Vatican’s highest judicial authority.

Neither should Anthony Kennedy, John Roberts, and Samuel Alito for that matter too - all Roman Catholics who support abortion.

Surprised the Vatican hasn't yet exposed these men.

Vatican declares Nancy Pelosi may no longer receive Communion

The Vatican has finally had enough of U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi illogically insisting she’s a “good Catholic” while consistently supporting unrestricted abortion.

The Vatican’s chief justice, Cardinal Raymond Burke, said the California Democrat should no longer receive the sacrament of Holy Communion, according to CNS News.

“Certainly this is a case when Canon 915 must be applied,” Burke in a Sept. 5 interview with The Wanderer, a national Catholic weekly, CNS News reported Monday. “This is a person who obstinately, after repeated admonitions, persists in a grave sin — cooperating with the crime of procured abortion — and still professes to be a devout Catholic.”

Burke emphasized that Catholics have to at least attempt to live their faith.

“This is a prime example of what Blessed John Paul II referred to as the situation of Catholics who have divorced their faith from their public life and therefore are not serving their brothers and sisters in the way that they must — in safeguarding and promoting the life of the innocent and defenseless unborn, in safeguarding and promoting the integrity of marriage and the family,” the cardinal said.

CNS reported:

In mid-June at a Capitol Hill press conference, Pelosi was asked if there is a moral difference between aborting a baby at 26 weeks and what Dr. Kermit Gosnell did in Philadelphia in delivering babies alive at 23 weeks and then severing their spinal cords to kill them?

Rather than answer the Vatican directly, Pelosi said, “As a practicing and respectful Catholic, this is sacred ground to me when we talk about this. I don’t think it should have anything to do with politics, and that’s where you’re taking it and I’m not going there.”

So much for living her faith.

“To say that these are simply questions of Catholic faith which have no part in politics is just false and wrong,” the cardinal told The Wanderer. “I fear for Congresswoman Pelosi if she does not come to understand how gravely in error she is. I invite her to reflect upon the example of St. Thomas More who acted rightly in a similar situation even at the cost of his life.”

St. Thomas More was beheaded for refusing to swear to Henry VIII’s Oath of Allegiance after the king broke with the Catholic Church. More’s last words were, “The king’s good servant, but God’s first.”

As for Pelosi, let’s not get any ideas — we don’t behead people in the West anymore. Ex-communication maybe?

In addition, in 1897, Otto decided to shed the Jewish-sounding name of Kohn. He chose a new name by dropping a pencil on a map. The pencil landed on Ireland's County Kerry. In 1901, Fritz followed his brother’s example and officially changed his name to Frederick Kerry.

Fred, who worked as an accountant at his uncle's shoe factory, married Ida Loewe, a Jewish musician from Budapest. Ida was a descendant of Sinai Loew, a brother of Rabbi Judah Loew, the famous Kabbalist, philosopher and Talmudist known as the "Maharal of Prague" who some say invented the character of the Golem. Two of Ida's siblings, Otto Loewe and Jenni Loewe, were killed in **** concentration camps.

Fred, Ida and their first son Erich were all baptized as Catholics. And in 1905, the young family immigrated to America. After entering through Ellis Island, the family first lived in Chicago and then settled in Boston. Fred and Ida had two more children in America, Mildred (1910) and Richard (1915).

Fred and Ida and their three children lived in Brookline, where Fred became a prominent man in the shoe business and regularly attended Sunday Catholic church services. Fred did not tell and no one would have guessed that the family had Jewish roots...

Apparently, Illinois governor Pat Quinn is Catholic - the same guy who's going to sign the IL gay marriage legalization bill into law soon. And the IL House Speaker Mike Madigan is also Catholic.

Odd how Catholic priests were protesting this bill last week - so NOTHING about Quinn and Madigan from these Catholic priests? Nor from Frankie?

WOW is all I can say! ::)

Catholic Christie Says He’s ‘Happy’ for Same-Sex Couples Who Marry in NJ
November 12, 2013 - 2:43 PM

(CNSNews.com) – Gov. Chris Christie said last week that.he is “happy” for same-sex couples who got married in New Jersey after his administration withdrew its appeal of a court order to start issuing them marriage licenses.

"I'm happy for them, if they're happy," Christie, a Roman Catholic who attended an inaugural Mass in 2010 after being first elected governor, said at a press conference in Union City on Nov. 6th, the day after his historic reelection.

When asked if he had an emotional reaction to same-sex couples being able to obtain marriage licenses in New Jersey, Christie replied, “Not really."

Christie told TV host Piers Morgan in June 2011 that while he was opposed to same-sex marriage, he supported civil unions for homosexuals. “I think we can have civil unions that can help to give the same type of legal rights to same-sex couples that marriage gives them.”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church, the doctrinal manual for over a billion Catholics worldwide, teaches that marriage is exclusively between a man and a woman: “Sexuality is ordered to the conjugal love of man and woman. In marriage the physical intimacy of the spouses becomes a sign and pledge of spiritual communion. Marriage bonds between baptized persons are sanctified by the sacrament.”

According to the catechism, “Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection."

As CNSNews.com previously reported,  the Christie administration withdrew its appeal of a court order requiring state officials to begin issuing same-sex marriage licenses after the New Jersey Supreme Court denied a stay of a lower court’s decision.  Assemblyman and former New Jersey State Democratic Party Chairman Joseph Cryan told CNSNews.com at the time that Christie “saw the court was gonna go against him and he didn’t wanna face an override and as a result, it was time to cash in his chips on the issue.”

Last August, Christie also signed a bill banning gay conversion therapy.  The law was upheld on appeal by  U.S. District Court Judge Freda L. Wolfson, an appointee of George W. Bush, who wrote that the law "on its face does not target speech, and ‘counseling’ is not entitled to special constitutional protection merely because it is primarily carried out through talk therapy.”

The lawsuit, filed by two therapists from the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality and the American Association of Christian Counselors, argued that the law infringed upon their right to freely exercise their religion and did not allow parents to “direct the upbringing and education of their children according to their sincerely held religious beliefs.”

A separate lawsuit was filed last week, also in the U.S. District Court in Camden, by an unidentified couple on the grounds that state law now only permits “gay-affirming” therapy.  A federal judge is scheduled to decide by December 2 whether to grant the unnamed plaintiffs a temporary injunction to stop enforcement of the law Christie signed.

Vatican Chief Justice: Denying Communion to Nancy Pelosi “Makes Perfect Sense”

Sure does, to bad no one has the will to actually do anything about it

Catholics across the United States have for years wondered if and when pro-abortion “Catholics” like Nancy Pelosi or John Kerry would be told not to present themselves for Communion because they are out of step with Catholic Church teachings on the sanctity of human life.

Cardinal Raymond Burke, the former archbishop of St. Louis and now the chief justice at the Vatican’s highest court saying prohibiting Pelosi and Kerry from receiving Communion”makes perfect sense,” according to a new interview Burke gave to EWTN.

As CNS News reports on the interview:

In an interview with EWTN’s Raymond Arroyo on Dec. 13, Cardinal Burke explained that it is necessary to protect the Sacrament, the Communion wafer offered at Masses, from “being profaned, being violated by someone receiving unworthily,” someone “who knows that he or she is unworthy and yet presumes to come forward and to take the Holy Eucharist.”

Host Arroyo then asked,  “Now, over the years, you have said everybody from John Kerry to Nancy Pelosi to Rudy Guiliani — these are public figures who are, by and large, pro-choice, in their public pronouncements, and manifestly so — you’ve said they shouldn’t receive the Sacrament. Now, over the years, you have received such scorn, for that clear teaching, do you ever stop and say, ‘Maybe I should back off a little bit’?”

Cardinal Burke, whose official title is Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura, or chief of the Vatican’s highest court, said,  “I’ve thought about it because I’ve received very severe criticism, both at the time that I was insisting on applying the discipline and also in my writing and other situations. But I have to say that, I think about it again, the discipline itself, and it’s a consistent discipline from the time of St. Paul, from the very first years of the Church, and it makes perfect sense.”
“In fact, it makes such fundamental sense that I can’t feel badly about it or question [it],” said the cardinal.  ‘The question in my mind is, ‘Why don’t more people understand this?’ Because I don’t consider it to be rocket science or some kind of very unusual insight. It’s something that is natural to our Faith.”

The cardinal continued, “The Holy Eucharist is the most sacred reality. It is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ. And I simply wouldn’t approach to receive Holy Communion if I was in a state of sin, and neither would I give Holy Communion to someone who I knew was in a state of sin.”

This isn’t the first time Burke has said they should not receive communion.

In a September interview with The Wanderer, a Catholic newspaper, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke, prefect of the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura in Rome, sheds light on Pelosi and communion. He issues a call for pro-abortion politicians to be denied the sacrament — saying that Catholic Canon law must be applied to them.

In July, Pelosi was at it again — with another crass comment on the abortion issue. This time, she went after pro-life Republicans saying they need a lesson in Sex Education 101. She attacked pro-life legislators in state legislatures across the nation who are passing new pro-life laws to limit abortions in places like Texas and North Carolina, saying they needed a lesson on “the birds and the bees.”

The recent comments come after Pelosi put her foot in her mouth during a press conference, calling the battle to keep late-term abortions legal sacred ground.

Nancy Pelosi to Receive Margaret Sanger Award from Planned Parenthood

Still nothing hunh Frank?

The nation’s largest abortion provider has announced that House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi will receive the Margaret Sanger Award at the organization’s annual gala on March 27th.

The Planned Parenthood Federation of America says that Pelosi will be speaking at the event next month, where she will be recognized for her “her leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement over the course of her career.”

“No one is more deserving of this honor than Leader Pelosi, who has fought tirelessly throughout her career to protect and expand women’s access to health care,” said Cecile Richards, the president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America in a news release surrounding the award.

“As the first woman to serve as Speaker of the House, Leader Pelosi recognized that women’s health is a mainstream issue impacting women and families,” she continued. “Her leadership in passing the Affordable Care Act and her ongoing commitment ensures that the promise of the law is realized for millions of women as the greatest advancement for women’s health in a generation.”

Pelosi, a Roman Catholic, will be following in the footsteps of other award recipients such as Martin Luther King Jr., Alan Guttmacher, MD, Katharine Hepburn, Bella Abzug, Justice Harry Blackmun, Dolores Huerta, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Anthony Romero.

The House Democratic Leader also received the Champion of Women’s Health Award from Planned Parenthood in 2010, which was created to applaud those that were active in working toward health care reform in the nation. Pelosi was specifically selected for the award for her opposition to the Stupak Amendment, which was meant to bar federal funds from being used for abortion in insurance plans.

But not everyone believes that the award is such an honor. The website Twitchy notes that numerous Americans have taken to Twitter since the announcement to express their concern and disgust.

“That anyone would accept an award named after a eugenicist racist like Sanger shows the depravity of the recipient,” wrote evangelist Tony Miano.

“Nancy Pelosi winning the Margaret Sanger award is kinda like Margaret Sanger winning the Nancy Pelosi award,” Tweeted officials with March for Life.

Margaret Sanger founded Planned Parenthood in 1921, which was originally known as the American Birth Control League. She later changed the name as some found it offensive.

“We are paying for, and even submitting to, the dictates of an ever-increasing, unceasingly spawning class of human beings who never should have been born at all,” Sanger once said, who was reportedly a staunch advocate of eugenics. “The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”

Sanger was also the publisher of the newspaper The Woman Rebel, which she subtitled “No Gods, no masters.”

As previously reported, Planned Parenthood performed 327,166 abortions during the 2012-2013 fiscal year.

Deny communion to pro-abort politicians: Legatus pro-life award winner to world’s bishops

The annual Legatus Summit, held this year at the Ritz-Carleton in Orlando, Florida, had an all-star cast of pro-life leaders, four of whom were selected as recipients of the prestigious Cardinal John J. O’Connor Award.  The only non-American recipient was John Smeaton, head of the UK’s Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC), which is the oldest pro-life group in the world, founded in 1966.

Over 400 of the most influential and faithful Catholic business leaders in the United States were awed by inspiring speakers all weekend, and yet the crowd nevertheless rose to their feet in ovation at Smeaton’s rousing address – the final one of the summit.

Speaking of the recent vote in Ireland where many Catholic politicians voted to support a bill in favour of abortion, Smeaton called on Ireland’s bishops and indeed all the bishops of the world to refuse such Catholic politicians Holy Communion.

“In the spirit of friendly dialogue, I implore all Catholic bishops throughout the world to speak out clearly and categorically that politicians who vote for and publicly support abortion legislation such as that just passed by the Irish Parliament, must publicly retract and refute the position they have adopted before receiving the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Holy Communion in Whose image every unborn child targeted by wicked abortion legislation is made,” he said.

Rejecting the common objection to such a move, Smeaton said, “It’s an absurd rationalization to suggest that bishops speaking up clearly and categorically on the public sacrilegious reception of the Holy Eucharist is turning the Sacrament into a battleground or circus, as has been claimed.”

Driving his point home, Smeaton added, “I ask you … if Catholic priests or bishops were targeted by the legislation passed by the Irish Parliament, for example, so that they could be executed with impunity, would you or would you not say publicly that politicians who voted for or who supported such legislation, without apologizing, retracting and refuting their position, may not go forward to receive Holy Communion?”

“What is the difference in God’s eyes between the sanctity of life of a priest or a bishop or the sanctity of life of an unborn child?” he asked.

Speaking as the leader of a non-religious human rights group, he reminded the bishops of the world of the admonition of soon-to-be ‘saint’ Pope John Paul II that bishops “are the first ones called to be untiring preachers of the Gospel of Life.”

“Silence, and silence includes equivocal or half hearted words, in the face of the daily slaughter, the maiming of mothers’ and fathers’ lives, simply will not do,” he said.

Smeaton recalled that in 2012 Legatus had given the same award to Cardinal Raymond Burke, who among the world’s bishops has been the most ardent defender of the Eucharist against sacrilegious reception by pro-abortion politicians.

“It’s time,” he said, “for all responsible Catholics to challenge church officials at the highest level to appoint bishops who will carry out the duty spelled out for them in Pope John Paul II’s Evangelium Vitae.” The pro-life leader then read from paragraph 82 of the encyclical:

Preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching" (2 Tim 4:2). This exhortation should resound with special force in the hearts of those members of the Church who directly share, in different ways, in her mission as ‘teacher’ of the truth. May it resound above all for us who are Bishops: we are the first ones called to be untiring preachers of the Gospel of life.

Spelling out the sobering consequences of failure in this regard, Smeaton said, “Throughout Britain, Ireland and Europe, the failure of Catholic bishops to teach their flocks on matters relating to the fundamental right to life is directly responsible for great confusion and, consequently, for the failure of the overwhelming majority of Catholics, both clerical and lay, to provide truly effective resistance to the greatest legalized slaughter of human beings in the history of the world.”

The SPUC leader appealed to the Legatus members especially to “use your influence at the highest levels of the church to beg the Pope to appoint bishops who will uphold the teaching of the Church in our countries.”

“Churchill, Britain and Europe needed America to come to our aid in the Second World War,” Smeaton said in conclusion. “You came to our aid. You laid down your lives and you saved the world for freedom and we loved America for what you did. We still love America. This is World War 3. It’s now a war on unborn children …  and Britain and Europe need America’s Catholics to help us save the Catholic Church in our countries in order that we can win this war.”

Pelosi Calls Pro-Lifers ‘Dumb’ While Accepting Margaret Sanger Award at Planned Parenthood Gala

Frank, the witch calls ya dumb. Gonna man up and excommunicate her now?

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi called pro-lifers ‘dumb’ during her acceptance speech this week as she received the Margaret Sanger Award from the nation’s largest abortion provider.

“When you see how closed their minds are or oblivious or whatever it is—dumb—then you know what the fight is about,” Pelosi declared on Thursday at Planned Parenthood’s annual gala. “Whatever happens with the court …we must remember these battles will not be the end of the fight.”

Pelosi was speaking about the personhood laws that have been presented in various states and the corporate opposition to the Obamacare abortion pill mandate.

As previously reported, the Planned Parenthood Federation of America recognized Pelosi with the Margaret Sanger Award for “her leadership, excellence, and outstanding contributions to the reproductive health and rights movement over the course of her career.” Sanger founded Planned Parenthood in 1921, which was originally known as the American Birth Control League.

“I accept this honor tonight on behalf of my colleagues, who have fought the fight for and with you,” Pelosi said upon receipt of the award. “The aim of smart public policy in our country is to advocate for opportunity and freedom—the opportunity to lead healthy lives and the freedom of Americans to make their own choices.”

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg was also present at the gala, receiving the Planned Parenthood Global Citizen Award, as well as “minister” William Barber II, who leads a homosexual advocacy and social justice organization called “Moral Mondays” in North Carolina.

“We must build a movement knowing that those against Planned Parenthood are also against voting rights, labor rights, and immigration reform,” Barber told those gathered. “The same people trying to gut voting rights are the same people trying to remove southern states from [Medicaid] coverage, and are the same people trying to remove women’s rights. We are stronger together when we fight these injustices together.”

Bradley Bredeweg of the ABC Family show The Fosters, a sitcom that centers on children being raised by lesbians, also spoke at the event.

“Our family represents the new, loving and modern family,” he stated. “Two incredibly smart and passionate biracial lesbian women raising a family made up of a multicultural mix of biological, adopted, and foster kids. A family that is allowed to make their own choices, to decide what is best for their own family. With all of the prejudice and discrimination that we still have to fight as gays and lesbians, as women, as different races—the last thing we should be fighting for are our own bodies.”

Others present at Planned Parenthood’s gala included singer Mavis Staples, comedian Tig Notaro and BET’s Vice President of Public Affairs Sonya Lockett.

http://christiannews.net/2014/03/29/pelosi-calls-pro-lifers-dumb-while-accepting-margaret-sanger-award-at-planned-parenthood-gala/

She needs to remove that millstone before its too late, she clearly doesn't have much time left.

Obama Gives Rosary Blessed by Pope Francis to Nancy Pelosi

Following his visit with Pope Francis at the Vatican last week, President Obama has given a rosary that was blessed by the pontiff to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

On Tuesday, Pelosi discussed Obama’s gift to her with reporters after a luncheon with the president at the White House.

As the Washington Times reports, Pelosi said, “I was happy to receive a rosary blessed by Pope Francis. It means a great deal to me.”

Though Pelosi claims to be Catholic, she is an avid supporter of abortion and same-sex marriage, both of which conflict with the teachings of the Church.

At a gala Planned Parenthood event on March 27th, Pelosi accepted the Margaret Sanger Award, named for the famous eugenicist, for her work defending abortion rights. As Politico reported, Pelosi rebuked the pro-life community and criticized “personhood” laws, stating that the struggle for reproductive rights will continue whatever the Supreme Court decides on the HHS mandate.

Speaking about pro-life individuals, Pelosi said, “…When you see how closed their minds are or oblivious or whatever it is – dumb – then you know what the fight is about.”

Last year, Cardinal Raymond Burke, chief justice of the Vatican’s highest court, said that Pelosi should not receive communion.

“Certainly this is a case when Canon 915 must be applied,” Burke explained. “This is a person who obstinately, after repeated admonitions, persists in a grave sin – cooperating with the crime of procured abortion – and still professes to be a devout Catholic.”

Burke added that Pelosi is an example of a Catholic who separates her faith from day-to-day living.

“This is a prime example,” said the cardinal, “of what Blessed John Paul II referred to as the situation of Catholics who have divorced their faith from their public life and therefore are not serving their brothers and sisters in the way that they must – in safeguarding and promoting the life of the innocent and defenseless unborn, in safeguarding and promoting the integrity of marriage and the family.”

Argentine president is godmother to lesbians' baby
4/5/14

CORDOBA, Argentina (Reuters) - Argentina's leftist president Cristina Fernandez on Saturday became the godmother of a lesbian couple's baby in a rare baptism performed by the Catholic Church, which is staunchly opposed to gay marriage.

A nominally Catholic country, Argentina has been a trailblazer for gay rights in the region since Peronist Fernandez legalized same-sex marriage in 2010.

Fellow Argentine Pope Francis, at the time archbishop of Buenos Aires, came out strongly against the law. The Vatican defines marriage as strictly between a man and a woman and stipulates that only those born from wedlock can receive the rite of baptism.

But as the Church loses ground to Protestant and Evangelical denominations in its traditional stronghold of Latin America, some clerics are urging an overhaul to draw believers back into the fold.

Priest Carlos Varas baptized 2-1/2-month-old Uma in the Cathedral of Cordoba, Argentina's second largest city, under the watchful gaze of her beaming parents, Carina Villaroel and Soledad Ortiz.

"Father Varas told us he had been waiting for a couple like us, a gay one, and we happened to come and he accepted us," said Villaroel on Saturday. "There's really been a social change for Catholicism to have said yes to baptizing a child from a lesbian family."

Pope Francis has said all children can be baptized, although the Church's official position hasn't changed. It was unclear if the Vatican had given its approval for Saturday's ceremony.

"While my wife and I aren't practicing Catholics, we think our daughter deserves to be baptized," Villaroel told local paper La Nacion. "We asked the president to be Uma's godmother, because it's a way of thanking her and former president Nestor Kirchner for this law that gave us rights."

Fernandez did not personally attend the ceremony, sending a representative instead.

According to Argentine tradition, the president is named the godparent of any seventh male child.

Fernandez, a fireband leftist who has championed human rights in Argentina, has expanded the custom to include seventh female children as well.

Uma's biological mother is Ortiz. Villaroel said she was sacked from her job as a police officer after requesting maternity leave.

Pope Francis calls abortion an ‘abominable crime’ in strongest remarks to date

Human life is “sacred and inviolable” and “every civil law is based on the recognition of the first and most fundamental right, the right to life,” Pope Francis told an Italian pro-life organization today.

The pope thanked the Movimento per la Vita, one of Italy’s leading political pro-life groups, for their work, urging them to continue “with courage and love” for life “in all its phases.”

“It is therefore necessary to reiterate the strongest opposition to any direct attack on life, especially innocent and defenseless, and her unborn child in the womb is the innocent par excellence,” the pope told the gathering of politicians and pro-life activists at the Vatican today.

“If you look at life as something that is consumed,” the pope said, “it will also be something that sooner or later you can throw away, with abortion to begin with.”

Human life, however, is “a gift from God” and if it is accepted as such, “then you have before you a valuable and intangible asset, to be protected by all means and not to be discarded.”

In a different tack from previous popes, Pope Francis took the opportunity to link the pro-life message of the Church to his critique of the global economy, a major theme of this pontificate. “This economy kills. It considers the human being in himself as a commodity; a commodity that you can use and then throw away.” He added, quoting his own recent document Evangelii Gaudium, “We started the culture of ‘waste’ that, indeed, is promoted” through abortion in which “even life is discarded.”

One of the “most serious risks” of the modern world, he said, “is the divorce between economics and morality.” In a world offering “a market equipped with every technological innovation, elementary ethical standards of human nature [are] more and more neglected.”

In his brief address, Pope Francis quoted the document Gaudium et Spes of the Second Vatican Council, that says, “Life once conceived, must be protected with the utmost care; abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.” He encouraged pro-life workers to fight for life “with a style of closeness” to women so that “every woman feels regarded as a person, heard, accepted, accompanied.”

In a speech on Friday to the International Catholic Child Bureau (BICE), the pope also spoke of the need to reaffirm the rights of parents to decide “the moral and religious education of their children” and reject all forms of “educational experimentation with children and young people.”

Every child, he said, has the right to grow up in a family “with a father and a mother” capable of creating “a suitable environment for the child’s development and emotional maturity.” The Pope also warned against the effort to push a “dictatorship of one form of thinking” on children comparing these to the “horrors of the manipulation of education that we experienced in the great genocidal dictatorships of the twentieth century.”

These totalitarian impulses, he said, “have not disappeared; they have retained a current relevance under various guises and proposals.”

The pope’s comments on Friday follow a push from parliamentarians and parents’ rights groups against the recent wave of incursions of “gender ideology” into Italy’s schools. A group of MPs has introduced a bill into Parliament to reinforce the constitutional protection of parent’s right to guide the “ethical” content of their children’s education, even in state-funded schools.

Frank, ya gonna let baby killer Pelosi wash feet in your church buildings?

Pelosi assists in Holy Week foot-washing ritual

I can work my way in, im a good person

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (left) prepares to pour water on the feet of Yamile Cruz, 10, with the help of Bishop Marc Andrus during a Holy Week foot-washing ceremony at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco.

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco.

Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship."

The Democratic leader's ceremony coincides with Pope Francis' similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week. As he did last year, the pope broke with the tradition of washing only priests' feet during the Mass for the Last Supper - this time, washing the feet of disabled people.

EXCLUSIVE: Cardinal Arinze: Even children know pro-abort politicians should be denied Communion

The question of whether Catholic politicians who support abortion should receive or be denied Holy Communion has been a source of contentious debate amongst many bishops and theologians. But according to one of the Vatican’s most senior cardinals, the answer to the question is so simple that even schoolchildren intuitively know it.

Might want to remind Frank on that issue

In an exclusive video interview with LifeSiteNews.com this week, Cardinal Francis Arinze observed that he is often asked about pro-abortion Catholic politicians and Holy Communion. “Do you really need a cardinal from the Vatican to answer that?” the cardinal said he tells his questioners. “Is that really a difficult question?”

Instead, says Arinze, he suggests that people who are confused about the issue should go ask a class of children preparing for their First Communion.

“Explain it to them,” he said. “They will ask you, ‘What is abortion?’ Don’t use euphemism. Tell them what it is. It is killing a child not yet born in the mother’s womb. And then tell them if a person is for that, and says that he will continue to support the killing of such children, should such a person receive Holy Communion?”

The cardinal said that one parish priest told him he tested this out on a First Communion class, and they all responded, “No, he should not!”

“These children did not study dogmatic theology at the Catholic University of America or at the Gregorian university in Rome,” said Arinze. “And they saw immediately that killing an unborn child is wrong!”

Arinze, a Nigerian cardinal, currently serves as Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, having served as prefect from 2002 to 2008. He was widely considered a leading contender to be elected pope at the last conclave.

Canon 915 of the Church’s Code of Canon Law states that those who are “obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”

Though some bishops and cardinals have opposed the use of the canon, the Vatican has been clear in upholding it. In 2004, Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, then-head of the Congregation for Doctrine of the Faith, wrote a letter to the U.S. bishops exhorting them to deny Communion to pro-abortion politicians after attempting to reach out to them.

Cardinal Arinze told LifeSiteNews.com that he has no patience for politicians who say that they are “personally” opposed to abortion, but are unwilling to “impose” their views on others.

“This is wonderful logic that you have!” he says he responded to one politician who told him this. “It is just like me saying, ‘You members of congress and parliament, I am personally not in favor of shooting all of you, but some want to shoot all of you. I cannot impose my views on them. It is pro-choice!

“What a wonderful logic.”

“It isn’t my view. It isn’t my law,” the cardinal continued. “It is God’s law. Thou shalt not kill. Anyway, the person making that argument, if he had been killed in his mother’s womb, he would not be there to make the argument. The matter seems to me simple and straight.”

In attendance at the meeting with Cardinal Arinze in Rome were LifeSiteNews’s Managing Director Steve Jalsevac, as well as Colleen Bayer of Family Life International, who is one of the two main sponsors of Saturday's Pro-Life Summit in the Vatican City, which is being hosted by LifeSiteNews. Colleen was accompaniedd by her son Ben, a young man with Downs.

During the interview, the cardinal also elaborated on the profound influence that Blessed Cyprian Michael Iwene Tansi, who died in 1964, had on his life.

Blessed Tansi is the first Nigerian to be beatified, which is the first step towards full-fledged canonization. Blessed Tansi was the first priest that Cardinal Arinze ever knew. He baptized the cardinal, performed his first confession and Communion, and Cardinal Arinze served as an altar server for him.

"As a priest, he was known for great zeal in his priestly ministry," explained the cardinal. “He preached no-nonsense homilies so that even after 50 years, we still remember some of the things he said!”

And there's SIX Roman Catholics on the USSC - ALL of whom SUPPORT abortion. Nancy Pelosi has also been around for awhile too.

Forget Frankie, I wonder why John Paul II kept quiet about it too - but somehow he was still canonized as a "saint".

52 pro-life leaders worldwide call on bishops to deny Communion to pro-abortion politicians

At the first annual Rome Life Forum in Vatican City today, fifty-two pro-life leaders from sixteen nations called on the bishops of the Catholic Church to deny Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians in a spirit of love and mercy.

The leaders signed a declaration noting that it is out of concern, and indeed love, for those same politicians that the pro-life leaders ask for this wake-up call to invite pro-abortion politicians back to authentic faith.

Led by the organizers and sponsors of the 1st Rome Life Forum - LifeSiteNews.com, Human Life International, Family Life International New Zealand and the organizers of the Rome March for Life - the leaders of 36 pro-life groups from all over the world called on the world’s bishops to honour Canon 915 of the Church’s Code of Canon Law. The canon states that those who are “obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion.”

The declaration also recalls the words of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger in his intervention with the bishops of the United States, called "Worthiness to receive Holy Communion." Cardinal Ratzinger wrote that a Catholic politician who votes for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws "must" be denied Communion after being duly instructed and warned.

Leaders signing the declaration came from the USA, Spain, Italy, Canada, Romania, Croatia, St. Lucia, New Zealand, France, the UK, Poland, Belgium, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Malta, and Estonia.

Speaking at the public portion of the Rome Life Forum, Cardinal Raymond Burke, prefect of the Vatican’s Apostolic Signatura, reflected on "the grave scandal caused by legislators, judges, and political leaders who profess to be Catholic and who present themselves to receive Holy Communion, while, at the same time, they uphold and even promote laws which violate the moral law in its most fundamental tenets."  Cardinal Burke recalled, "The Church’s discipline, from the time of Saint Paul, has admonished those who obstinately persevere in manifest grave sin not to present themselves for Holy Communion."

"The discipline is not a punishment but the recognition of the objective condition of the soul of the person involved in such sin," he said. "It prevents them from committing sacrilege by violating the incomparable sanctity of the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ, and safeguards the Christian community and the community at large from scandal, that is, from being led to believe that the violation of the moral law, for example in what pertains to the inviolable dignity of human life, the integrity of marriage and the family, and the freedom of conscience, is not sinful, does not gravely break communion with Our Lord."

****

The full text of the declaration follows:

We, Pro-Life Leaders, Call on the Bishops of the World to Extend Mercy to the Church’s Pro-Abortion Politicians

WHEREAS Saint Paul wrote in the eleventh chapter of First Corinthians: "For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord" (1 Cor. 11:29);

WHEREAS Canon 915 of the Church’s Code of Canon Law states that those who are “obstinately persevering in manifest grave sin are not to be admitted to Holy Communion”;

WHEREAS Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger wrote in a 2004 letter to the US bishops, called "Worthiness to receive Holy Communion", that a Catholic politician who votes for permissive abortion and euthanasia laws "must" be denied Communion after being duly instructed and warned;

WHEREAS Catholic politicians who support abortion are already in grave sin, and in receiving Holy Communion their sin is compounded by sacrilege;

WHEREAS by being given Holy Communion such Catholic politicians may well believe that they are spiritually healthy and thus not in need of any remedy;

WHEREAS distributing Holy Communion to pro-abortion politicians causes scandal to the rest of the faithful in that they come to believe that support for abortion is not too serious a sin, and thus undermines pro-life work;

WHEREAS being refused Holy Communion is an effective wake-up call to return to an authentic life of faith;

WHEREAS it is unmerciful to allow our brothers living in obstinate public sin to languish there without warning;

We the undersigned ask the Bishops of the Catholic Church to withhold Holy Communion from pro-abortion politicians as an act of love and mercy towards those same politicians.

Pelosi: Pro-Lifers Should Compromise on Planned Parenthood, “That’s What Pope Francis Told Us to Do”

Ill get your baby, and your little dog too!!!! HA AH HAHAHA !

Nancy Pelosi has never been known as a faithful Catholic and her latest gaffe will help cement that reputation even further.

Pelosi condemned the most recent vote in the House of Representatives to de-fund Planned Parenthood and she said the pro-life advocates behind yanking taxpayer funding for the nation’s abortion business ought to compromise on that pursuit. After all, Pelosi says, “That’s what Pope Franci told us to do.”

Here are Pelosi’s unbelievable remarks, courtesy of CNS News:

Pelosi told reporters in her Thursday press briefing that “it doesn’t have to be this way,” saying that there could be legislative compromise, which was “what Pope Francis told us to do.” Then she cited remarks in the Pope’s September speech to Congress.

“Republicans are moving forward with a GOP reconciliation package that once again lays the groundwork for another Republican government shutdown. It’s a waste of time. It will go nowhere in the Senate,” Pelosi said.

“It will be their 61st vote to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and they will of course be wanting to defund Planned Parenthood, destroy the Affordable Care Act, dismantle newfound health security for millions of Americans,” she continued.

“It doesn’t have to be this way,” Pelosi emphasized. “Instead we could be working together recognizing a Republican Congress, a Democratic president, the ability for Democrats to use their leverage legislatively to have compromise for the good of the American people. That’s what Pope Francis told us to do.

“He said leaders should have transparency. That would be wonderful – openness, he said. He used the word openness and pragmatism, and he said we have to move forward for the good of the people. Let’s in the spirit of Francis do that,” she added.

Actually, Pope Francis brought a consistent pro-life message to the nation’s leaders in September and admonished members of Congress in a speech today to “defend life at every stage of development.”

Also in September, the pontiff wrote in a letter that the tragedy of abortion devastates women and their families, which is why he believes the Church needs to continue offering God’s forgiveness.

He said, “I think in particular of all the women who have resorted to abortion. I am well aware of the pressure that has led them to this decision. I know that it is an existential and moral ordeal. I have met so many women who bear in their heart the scar of this agonizing and painful decision.”

He added, “What has happened is profoundly unjust; yet only understanding the truth of it can enable one not to lose hope. The forgiveness of God cannot be denied to one who has repented, especially when that person approaches the Sacrament of Confession with a sincere heart in order to obtain reconciliation with the Father.”

Although some pro-abortion Catholics have argued that Pope Francis’ gesture is a sign that the Church is becoming more “progressive” on abortion, recent statements he’s made in Cuba and in the United States prove this couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, yesterday Pope Francis said his primary reason for his visit to America was for the cause of life.

Pope Francis said, “I appreciate the unfailing commitment of the Church in America to the cause of life and that of the family, which is the primary reason for my present visit.” At the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, he encouraged Catholics to remain vigilant in their opposition to abortion and listed unborn children among innocent people who the bishops must keep at the top of the priority list of people who deserve protection.

He lists, “the innocent victim of abortion, children who die of hunger or from bombings, immigrants who drown in the search for a better tomorrow, the elderly or the sick who are considered a burden, the victims of terrorism, wars, violence and drug trafficking, the environment devastated by man’s predatory relationship with nature – at stake in all of this is the gift of God, of which we are noble stewards but not masters.”

“It is wrong, then, to look the other way or to remain silent. Ever present within each of them is life as gift and responsibility. The future freedom and dignity of our societies depends on how we face these challenges,” he concluded.

Additionally, on September 20th, Pope Francis told a group of Cuban nuns, priests, bishops and seminarians to protect their “smallest” and most vulnerable members, including unborn children. CNN reports that he also said Jesus shines in the lives of hidden and ignored people, referring to those who suffer from degenerative diseases.

Later that evening, he said, “Children aren’t loved, they’re killed before being born. The elderly are thrown away, because they don’t produce. Some countries have euthanasia. But in some others there a hidden euthanasia. The youth is thrown away because they have no job opportunities.”
