EXCLUSIVE: Pictured up close for the first time, Scientology's 'alien space cathedral and spaceship landing pad' built in the New Mexico desert for the 'return of followers after Armageddon on Earth'

Tunnels stretch for hundreds of feet into cliff behind unassuming facade and reportedly hold sacred texts

Mysterious pair of overlapping circles with a diamond inside believed to be navigation markers for space craft

Compound is 20 miles from nearest town and has a landing strip and its own water supply

MailOnline can today reveal the first close-up pictures of the Church of Scientology's 'alien space cathedral' built in a remote part of the New Mexico desert.

The mysterious building which leads to an underground vault sits next to two giant symbols carved into the ground - believed to be markers for the religion's followers to find their way back from the ends of the universe after humanity is destroyed in the future.

While no one knows the definite meaning of the pair of overlapping circles, each with a diamond in them, it is believed to have been trademarked by the Church of Technology, a branch of Scientology.

This is the symbol in the desert, its huge...

In scientology it is the Symbol of the Church of Spiritual Technology

Quote
The Church of Spiritual Technology, also known as CST, is a Californian 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation,[1] incorporated in 1982, which owns all the copyrights of the estate of L. Ron Hubbard. The CST is doing business as L. Ron Hubbard Library. The organization receives its income from royalty fees paid to it by licensing of the copyrighted materials of Dianetics and Scientology to Scientology-connected organizations approved by the Religious Technology Center, and from its wholly owned for-profit subsidiary Author Services Inc. which publishes and promotes Hubbard's fiction works.[2]

In a 1993 memorandum by the Church of Scientology International, the role and function of CST has been described as follows:

"[...] CST [...] is an autonomous church of the Scientology religion outside of the international Scientology ecclesiastical hierarchy. CST conducts an extensive program of activities to preserve and archive the Scientology Scriptures for use by future generations. CST also owns the option to acquire RTC's rights to the Scientology advance[d] technology and religious marks under three narrowly defined sets of circumstances, each of which contemplates a serious threat to continued existence of the religion. CST is the principal beneficiary of Mr. Hubbard's estate, provided that it obtains

Apparently its these guys that built and run the place. But in the occult the symbol takes on a different meaning

Vesica piscis

"Fish bladder" redirects here. For swim bladder of a fish, see swim bladder.

The vesica piscis is a shape that is the intersection of two circles with the same radius, intersecting in such a way that the center of each circle lies on the perimeter of the other. The name literally means the "bladder of a fish" in Latin. The shape is also called mandorla ("almond" in Italian).

The term is also used more generally for any symmetric lens.[1]

Mysticism

The vesica piscis has been the subject of mystical speculation at several periods of history, and is viewed as important in some forms of Kabbalah. More recently, numerous New Age authors have interpreted it as a yonic symbol and claimed that this, a reference to the female genitals, is a traditional interpretation.[3][4][5][6][7]

One author claims that the total solar eclipse inspires images of the vesica piscis.[8] The ancient Egyptians practiced sacred geometry based on the shape. Architects and artists copied the solar eclipse/vesica piscis and its mathematics in their sacred buildings and artwork to reflect their religious beliefs. This ancient tradition was passed on through the centuries by the Freemasons.[9]

Now the modern-day church is engaging in mysticism practices - I never understood it(at least not completely), but pretty much in these modern-day church circles, mysticism is engaging in God WITHOUT the WRITTEN word of God. Christian Rock is one example, and contemplative prayer is another example. The latter is rooted out of Hinduism practices, but not all mysticism practices in the modern-day church involves pagan prayer practices(ie-this Christian Rock nonsense is one example b/c the written word of God isn't used).
