Well this is pretty creepy. According to a notice sent by Senator Sheldon R. Songstad, Ret. of South Dakota State and published, with a video, which will be shown below, titled "Emergency Fema Region 3 Alert!!!," the government obviously believes something big is coming.

Region three includes, DC, DE, MD, PA, VA, WV.

The preparations listed include; Nine-week training course for UN Peacekeepers in CONUS to learn Urban Warfare, English, and US weapons systems beginning 4th week of July for 386,000 troops to be completed by October 1st;

$11 million in antibiotics to be delivered to FEMA region III by October 1st ordered by CDC;

FEMA purchase orders for over $14.2 million for MREs and heater meals to be delivered to Region III by October 1st;

FEMA purchase orders for 22 million pouches of emergency water to be delivered to region III by October 1st;

FEMA purchase orders for $13.6 million for MREs and heater meals to be delivered to Austin by October 1st;

From my understanding, this whole Congress threatening shutdown over Obamacare(over its federal budget needing to pass) has an Oct 1 deadline.

Congress Will Play a “Game of Political Chicken” Over Debt Ceiling & Budget: Knox

Here we go again.

When lawmakers return to Capitol Hill on Sept. 9 after five weeks of summer recess, Americans should brace themselves for a “game of political chicken,” according to Olivier Knox, chief Washington correspondent for Yahoo! News. The two biggest issues facing Congress are raising the nation’s $16.7 trillion borrowing limit and agreeing on a federal budget before Sept. 30. A handful of conservative Republicans led by Senators Mike Lee (R-Utah), Ted Cruz (R-Texas), and Marco Rubio (R-Fla), are threatening a government shutdown if funding for President Obama’s Affordable Care Act is included in a budget resolution. Knox says the Obamacare fight won’t be the issue that will bring Washington to its knees this fall.

“Republicans in Congress are saying quietly that [defunding Obamacare] is a non-starter,” Knox tells The Daily Ticker. “Republicans think an argument about cutting spending even more in return for raising the government’s ability to borrow is a better fight for them then picking one over Obamacare.”

Congress will likely “kick the can down the road” and pass a continuing budget resolution, or temporary spending bill, that keeps the federal government operating for a few months, Knox predicts. Hyper-partisanship has resulted in serious gridlock and inaction and any hopes that the two political parties can sign off on a grand bargain or a breakthrough budget deal are slim to none.

Republicans are betting that President Obama and Congressional Democrats will eventually capitulate on the spending cuts and tax reform proposals the GOP is pushing in exchange for increasing the debt ceiling. Last month, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said no debt ceiling deals would be made “without real cuts in spending” to the federal deficit.

The last time Republicans and the White House battled over the debt ceiling was August 2011 and “no one is eager to repeat that fight,” says Knox. Still, this issue “has a much higher likelihood of generating an actual shutdown… and honestly I’m not sure today who will blink first,” Knox admits.

The non-profit research group Bipartisan Policy Center estimates that the U.S. will no longer be able to pay its bills between mid-October and mid-November unless Congress raises the borrowing limit.

It's as if these controlled-opposition groups are slowly showing their true colors and agendas now.

Conservative groups plan to target Republican lawmakers over Obamacare in their own districts

A conservative advocacy group that recently launched a series of online political ads that call Republicans “chickens” for what the group considers lackluster efforts to defund the Affordable Care Act are planning to hold events near lawmakers’ district offices in the next week.

Activists from an organization called For America Inc. plan to join Tea Party Patriots on a five-state “Exempt America Tour” urging GOP lawmakers to refuse to support any government-spending bill unless it defunds the health care law known as Obamacare.

Lawmakers must approve a new spending bill by the end of September or risk temporarily shutting down the government, and some conservatives see it as an opportunity to cripple the health care law.

The campaign will target key congressional Republicans. Starting on Aug. 27, the tour is scheduled to visit the offices of Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell in Lexington, Texas Sen. John Cornyn in Austin, Mississippi Sen. Roger Wicker in Jackson, South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham in Columbia and Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor in Richmond.

The events come after a weeks-long summer campaign in which For America has targeted the lawmakers using the “chicken” videos and by urging its members (and the group’s 3.3 million fans on Facebook), to call Republican leaders’ offices to tell them to adopt the defund strategy.

All of the lawmakers targeted in the campaign except for Wicker are up for re-election in 2014, and conservative groups such as For America are threatening to use their votes against them if they support a spending bill that includes Obamacare funding.

“If they chicken out on this one last chance to block it, millions of conservatives will remember how they were betrayed by politicians who said one thing at home but did the opposite in Washington,” For America Chairman Brent Bozell said in a statement.

The latest campaign represents the final leg of a push that has split Republicans over how to work against President Barack Obama’s health insurance overhaul three years after he signed it into law. While some conservatives want to use the upcoming spending vote in their strategy to defund it, others in the party are skeptical that the strategy will be successful and are worried that Republicans will be blamed if the fight results in a government shutdown.

Many Republicans are considering an alternative plan to request a one-year delay of the health care law’s implementation, a strategy they believe has a better chance of success (and less political liability) than the defund tactic.

i read this, tracked down the source article, listened to Scotts speal on it, and just dont buy anything happening around those dates. I would find the material a little more credible if it wasnt from a retired senator. And he wasnt even a US SENATOR he was a STATE Senator, so in my opinion thats even less credible.

not really, its hard enough to fight the "info war" with credible accurate information. It makes it worse and does a massive amount of discredit when you are using false information. Because people like Steve Quayle says the Red list pick ups start next month, and hes been saying that for at least 15 years that i know of. Lindsey Williams. yet to real accurate.

If anything happens, it appears to be in the North East, and not country wide.

Though most of America is anti-Christian, in terms of attitudes, laws, etc, (I was guilty of the mindset for a while), I see most of the anti-Christian ideals coming from the west coast. So it could throw a loop Christians if a storm in the South occurred, I could see gay, in-name-only, "Christians" claiming it's a judgement from god (their god, not the God from Israel who condemns homosexuality) to punish "rednecks" and "gay-haters".

Though this more than likely would be coming from the weather-controlled technologies the elite have.

Personally, I'll take the word of a STATE Senator than a US Senator(as state Senators get less than minimum wage), but that's just me - with that being said, the REAL "false flag" in this country since Obama took office was Vaughn Walker's ruling striking down CA's Prop 8(and not some nukes going off in big cities like the "truth" movement/alternative media tried to lead us to believe). Since then, the legalizing of gay marriage is slowly but surely going full blown(something Quayle and Williams have kept mum on).

As Worries Over the Power Grid Rise, a Drill Will Simulate a Knockout Blow

The electric grid, as government and private experts describe it, is the glass jaw of American industry. If an adversary lands a knockout blow, they fear, it could black out vast areas of the continent for weeks; interrupt supplies of water, gasoline, diesel fuel and fresh food; shut down communications; and create disruptions of a scale that was only hinted at by Hurricane Sandy and the attacks of Sept. 11.

This is why thousands of utility workers, business executives, National Guard officers, F.B.I. antiterrorism experts and officials from government agencies in the United States, Canada and Mexico are preparing for an emergency drill in November that will simulate physical attacks and cyberattacks that could take down large sections of the power grid.

They will practice for a crisis unlike anything the real grid has ever seen, and more than 150 companies and organizations have signed up to participate.

“This is different from a hurricane that hits X, Y and Z counties in the Southeast and they have a loss of power for three or four days,” said the official in charge of the drill, Brian M. Harrell of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation, known as NERC. “We really want to go beyond that.”

One goal of the drill, called GridEx II, is to explore how governments would react as the loss of the grid crippled the supply chain for everyday necessities.

“If we fail at electricity, we’re going to fail miserably,” Curt Hébert, a former chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, said at a recent conference held by the Bipartisan Policy Center.

Mr. Harrell said that previous exercises were based on the expectation that electricity “would be up and running relatively quick” after an attack.

Now, he said, the goal is to “educate the federal government on what their expectations should or shouldn’t be.” The industry held a smaller exercise two years ago in which 75 utilities, companies and agencies participated, but this one will be vastly expanded and will be carried out in a more anxious mood.

Most of the participants will join the exercise from their workplaces, with NERC, in Washington, announcing successive failures. One example, organizers say, is a substation break-in that officials initially think is an attempt to steal copper. But instead, the intruder uses a USB drive to upload a virus into a computer network.

The drill is part of a give-and-take in the past few years between the government and utilities that has exposed the difficulties of securing the electric system.

The grid is essential for almost everything, but it is mostly controlled by investor-owned companies or municipal or regional agencies. Ninety-nine percent of military facilities rely on commercial power, according to the White House.

The utilities play down their abilities, in comparison with the government’s. “They have the intelligence operation, the standing army, the three-letter agencies,” said Scott Aaronson, senior director of national security policy at the Edison Electric Institute, the trade association of investor-owned utilities. “We have the grid operations expertise.”

That expertise involves running 5,800 major power plants and 450,000 miles of high-voltage transmission lines, monitored and controlled by a staggering mix of devices installed over decades. Some utilities use their own antique computer protocols and are probably safe from hacking — what the industry calls “security through obscurity.”

But others rely on Windows-based control systems that are common to many industries. Some of them run on in-house networks, but computer security experts say they are not confident that all the connections to the public Internet have been discovered and secured. Many may be vulnerable to software — known as malware — that can disable the systems or destroy their ability to communicate, leaving their human operators blind about the positions of switches, the flows of current and other critical parameters. Experts say a sophisticated hacker could also damage hard-to-replace equipment.

In an effort to draw utilities and the government closer, the industry recently established the Electricity Sub-Sector Coordinating Council, made up of high-level executives, to meet with federal officials. The first session is next month.

Preparation for the November drill comes as Congress is debating laws that could impose new standards to protect the grid from cyberattacks, but many in the industry, some of whom would like such rules, doubt that they can pass.

The drill is also being planned as conferences, studies and even works of fiction are raising near-apocalyptic visions of catastrophes involving the grid.

A National Academy of Sciences report last year said that terrorists could cause broad hardship for months with physical attacks on hard-to-replace components. An emerging effort led in part by R. James Woolsey, a former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, is gearing up to pressure state legislatures to force utilities to protect equipment against an electromagnetic pulse, which could come from solar activity or be caused by small nuclear weapons exploded at low altitude, frying crucial components.

An attack using an electromagnetic pulse is laid out in extensive detail in the novel “One Second After,” published in 2009 and endorsed by Newt Gingrich. In another novel, “Gridlock,” published this summer and co-written by Byron L. Dorgan, the former senator from North Dakota, a rogue Russian agent working for Venezuela and Iran helps hackers threaten the grid. In the preface, Mr. Dorgan says such an attack could cause 10,000 times as much devastation as the terrorists’ strikes on Sept. 11, 2001.

Despite the growing anxiety, the government and the private sector have had trouble coordinating their grid protection efforts. The utility industry argues that the government has extensive information on threats but keeps it classified. Government officials concede the problem, and they have suggested that some utility executives get security clearances. But with hundreds of utilities and thousands of executives, it cannot issue such clearances fast enough. And the industry would like to be instantly warned when the government identifies Internet servers that are known to be sources of malware.

Another problem is that the electric system is so tightly integrated that a collapse in one spot, whether by error or intent, can set off a cascade, as happened in August 2003, when a power failure took a few moments to spread from Detroit to New York.

Sometimes utility engineers and law enforcement officials also seem to speak different languages. In his book “Protecting Industrial Control Systems From Electronic Threats,” Joseph Weiss, an engineer and cybersecurity expert, recounted a meeting between electrical engineers and the F.B.I. in 2008. When an F.B.I. official spoke at length about I.E.D.’s, he was referring to improvised explosive devices, but to the engineers the abbreviation meant intelligent electronic devices.

And experts fear government-sponsored hacking. Michael V. Hayden, another former C.I.A. director, speaking at the Bipartisan Policy Center conference, said that the Stuxnet virus, which disabled some of Iran’s centrifuges for enriching uranium, might invite retaliation.

“In a time of peace, someone just used a cyberweapon to destroy another nation’s critical infrastructure,” he said. “Ouch.”

United States Prepping For Collapse Of Society

At the National Council of State Legislatures last week in Atlanta, a number of lawmakers said they’re preparing legislation similar to a bill introduced in Maine recently did under the leadership of Rep. Andrea Boland. Efforts are under way to press the membership of the NCSL to address the EMP issue, since the federal government has failed to take action to mitigate the potential for a catastrophic event, whether natural or man-made. An EMP event could knock out the U.S. electrical grid system and the critical infrastructures that rely on it. Along with the national electrical grid, other critical infrastructures include telecommunications, banking and financial transactions, oil and natural gas pipelines, transportation, food and water delivery, emergency services and space systems. In short, an EMP event could cause the collapse of society.

The Numbers Game" on the National Geographic Channel. We are looking for a Southern California family that is HIGHLY disaster-prepared to weather a serious catastrophic event. They should have at least 3 months worth of food and water on hand. (The stockpile doesn't have to be crazy-huge, though impressive stockpiles are completely welcome.) This segment is meant to be an informative piece on how to design a practical disaster-preparedness plan and discuss all of the factors families should take into consideration when putting together their own disaster kit and a family emergency plan. This would involve a half- day of filming at the family' s home to see the survival materials they have stored, and their disaster-proofed part of the house or outside shelter if they have one. Compensation is $600 for the whole family.
