Saved without works of the law
Rom 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Rom 9:32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Gal 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Saved unto good works
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

We are saved by faith in Christ alone; once saved, the holy Spirit works in our lives to produce fruit/works.
No fruit demands a deeper look into one's faith.
2Cor 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
Titus 1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

From what i know about the NKJV and MKJV i would not trust a KJV 2000 Version. I dont see what the point is trying to get rid of thee's and thou's because they are their to help a person understand the verses properly.
Yes, i think that the KJV 2000 Edition is another attempt to make money out of peoples lack of discernment too.
Are the MKJV and KJV2000 copyrighted? If so, then man has bound God's word. |

Remember Spirit in Gen 1:2 should be capitalized.
Gen 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

The words "spy out" in the 4th verse - something been thinking about for awhile...what kind of tactics do these false brethren use when they "spy out" our liberty which we have in Jesus Christ? Probably, figuring what liberties they had, then bring into question or cause them to doubt their liberties, in order to bring them back under the law. |

I'm not very good with words, but do you see what I'm saying here? Satan comes as an angel of light or as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour; that's in regards to believers. I know from experience; I came that close to turning my back and returning to the world. I agree that God is faithful and delivered me from apostasy; but, at the same time, I believe that God tests our faith, to separate the chaff from the wheat, the sheep from the goats. .................. |

This is a good discussion - no, I don't think you can lose your salvation, but FORSAKING IT is more like it, IMHO. I wonder if there is a difference between losing salvation and returning to the world. We are not saved by works; neither can we work at losing our salvation. If we sin, we are chastened, we have an advocate, we have the throne of grace. We are saved by faith in Christ alone; but, can we give up that faith, can we deny the faith, can we turn our backs on Christ and return to the world; ie. apostacy, falling away? |

I use e-sword because I can copy and paste both the book/chapter/ for each verse.
The 'regular expression' search is trickier; I can't seem to remember the syntax.
1828 Webster's dictionary is slow; not sure why.
