The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It's not quite so sinitser in reality. It's a design reason. And it's called white gold or platinum.

The point in that type jewelry is to focus the person's attention on the diamonds, not what holds them in place. So, they use white metals that reflect light like a mirror to enhance the sparkle of the diamonds. Yellow gold is a contrasting color to the white stones, so it takes away visually from all items in the design. You have the yellow gold trying to be the focal point as much as the sparkle of the diamonds. It's visual chaos really. It's a play on how we perceive colors. High-end jewelry is usually white metals.

It's still temporal and vain, whatever the design.

That makes sense, K.  It's just I've seen many of their commercials and there is a very stark difference in what they used to show and what they now show.  But, yes, I could just be suspicious.  Wink

This brings up something I thought about lately.  On those tv commercials for jewelry companies I've noticed that even with the biggest diamonds they may be advertising, they do not show any with gold.  When they flash a display of many, there are never any gold jewelry; it's always that platinum or white gold, but never the yellow stuff.  It's like they are trying to take it from our minds to even fathom buying any or that is somehow just doesn't exist anymore; they want to keep it all for themselves.

11  General Category / North America / Re: U.S. cities struggle with blighted bank-owned homes on: June 09, 2012, 08:54:20 am
The real estate market situation is most perplexing to me.  It doesn't even make sense in hind-sight to these banks.  Past experience plainly shows the dreadful situation.  I can't understand why it wouldn't make more sense to allow the owners to stay and to rewrite their mortgages to something that is affordable and to where the bank is still making money.

If no one is occupying, then no one is paying and it is more than apparent that no one is buying.  Instead they boot out the owners and a home sits and rots away; it's really a poor business model whether it is the way of the contract or not.  They cannot possibly market these homes for the outrageous prices that sent the original owners out, so you'd think it were possible; the bank was going to lose money anyway.  If there is something I am not understanding about this, please let me know, because I am not a real estate expert; this is just an opinion.

In Detroit, they have allowed vacant homes to be bought for 200 bucks so that the new owner is at least paying the property taxes to the city and it then becomes their responsibility to clean up the home and land.  It's a great opportunity if one has the inclination.

http://www.wxyz.com/dpp/news/region/detroit/mayor-announces-200-property-sale-in-detroit

One of the Detroit channels has a commercial designed to promote the city and it's slogan is "Flip Detroit" and there is an article about a man who has already flipped like 300 homes making millions.

Yeah, that stuff isn't good for the unbelieving. For believers, it doesn't matter, if it's received with thanksgiving.

I agree, K.  We are to pray in remembrance of our Lord and Savior at each meal in both thanksgiving that 'man shall not live on bread alone' and asking for it to be blessed; this to me means that our Lord makes it good for our consumption, otherwise according to this article we would be eating nothing at all.

My family started our first garden last Spring and will be planting again this year.  That is another good idea to protect ourselves.
16  General Category / Revelation Prophecy / Re: Matthew 24:19 on: April 25, 2012, 03:18:22 pm
All that stuff you quoted are not for Christians. The AoD is for the Jews, as they still believe they need a temple. What does a Christian need a temple for? The Lord destroyed that system. And the Sabbath? That is not for the Christian, what laws do we have for the sabbath? The Jews have laws regarding the sabbath.

Christians wont be here for any of this, as we will be with the Lord.

Mark, wow, that sure doesn't sound like you at all.  We're all pretty mature Christians here and we all know these scriptures and we all know each other's position.  Opinions were asked for and so I gave mine, there is really no need to debate it cause I'm sure all of us has been down that road before.  I respectfully accept all here and their views even if they don't agree with mine.

I don't believe Jews will be reading this scripture, for one.  It is directed to (whoso readeth, let him understand:) and I believe all God's words are for Christians and if that is the case, then we are to understand its meaning in some way.  And two, I stated off the hop that I believe in a post-trib view so, I feel I WILL be here to witness the events being described.  And if that is the case, even though I will not be in Jerusalem nor will be attending the temple, the signs they relate to me will be most important as they do happen so as to benefit me spiritually and as to the nearness of my Lord's return.  It is my view on the scripture nothing more; BA can take it or leave it.  Geesh.
17  General Category / Revelation Prophecy / Re: Matthew 24:19 on: April 24, 2012, 06:19:31 am
From a post-trib view I of course feel it is for Christians, I feel it is not a curse, but a warning.  In the previous verses it speaks of the abomination and the time to 'flee' and right after that verse it speaks of praying it doesn't happen in the winter or on a Sabbath.  Winter will be harsh, having had to flee with nothing, not returning to take clothes, etc. plus carrying and taking care of children.  This verse speaks specifically about very young babes still being breast fed, how harsh would it be to do on the run and in hiding.  And the Sabbath would be a day when everyone will be home and the streets cleared from their daily routines therefore it being obvious when one would flee.  All in all, being a time never seen nor to ever happen again, it will be a tough time for the strongest of men and women to navigate, let alone young or expectant mothers.

Quote
Matthew 24:15-21
(KJV)
15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

ODNR RULES YOUNGSTOWN OHIO EARTHQUAKES CAUSED BY BRINE INJECTION WELL MARCH

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources investigation has ruled that the 12 Earthquakes spanning from 2011-2012 in the Youngstown area were caused by the brine injection well on Ohio Works Drive. A combination of the injection fluid disturbing a previous unknown ancient faultline in the precambrian rockbed. The investgation came only when a massive 4.0 or higher Earthquake hit the Yongstown McDonald area at around 3:00pm EST on New Year's Eve Day 2011. Hundreds of residents reported hearing an extremely loud "Bang" or explosion sound just prior to the Earthquake New Years Eve. Similar reports of a loud "bang" were also heard recently in Hawaii just prior to their Earthquakes a just over a week ago.

Although the brine injection well on Ohio Works Drive is shut down, the damage has been done from the year of hydrolic injection of thousands of gallons of brine waste water trucked in from Pennsylvania into the previoulsy unknown fault line.

'Frightening' ethics behind 'after-birth abortion'

While another two ethicists are suggesting that it's alright to terminate the lives of babies for a period after they've been born, if it's done for the same basic reasons an unborn baby would have been aborted, a pro-lifer points out that their stance is nothing new.

Rita Marker of the Patients Rights Council says Alberto Giubilin of Italy and Francesca Minerva of Australia likely have ethics, but "the question is what kind of ethics? And they're frightening."

Both Giubilin and Minerva agree that an unborn baby and a newborn do not have the moral status of actual persons and are consequently morally irrelevant, so what they call "after-birth abortion" should be permissible in all cases where abortion is, including in cases where the newborn is perfectly healthy.

However, Marker explains that this is nothing new. Another Australian philosopher and ethicist, Peter Singer, co-authored a book promoting it several years ago.

"If you have a child who has any type of problem that might cause difficulties for the family -- and these are such things that they described as ... hemophilia or some relatively benign conditions, not even life-threatening conditions under most circumstances -- they said that parents should be able to end that child's life for a certain length of time after birth because it would be a problem for the family," Marker details.

Giubilin and Minerva are not as well-known as Peter Singer, who has a chaired professorship at Princeton University and is teaching his views on the subject to American students. The Patients Rights Council executive director urges people not to be gullible.

I was and am, thoroughly disgusted with this.   This leads me right back to the article I put in one of your threads, Mark, on Child Sacrifice and that is exactly what is happening so that the family profits from a child's death.  Profit in that they feel their lives will be better financially (riches by sacrifice), relationship wise (love by sacrifice), a job kept (position by sacrifice) and on and on.

This being done so that the parents lives are better with no thought of the person they are killing.  I must stop as I am getting worked up.  I found this information in this video (just a note that I find her a bit naive at the end when she questions whether this would ever be put into practice when her comparing partial term abortions with after-birth abortions says it all...people are killing babies period!!!:

Wow, that is just incredible.  I find it amazing, after looking at the photos, at how God has made the natural world into such a wonderfully made biological chain that works out just perfectly.  The result of the flooding creates massive mosquitoes and flying insects and when looking at a large tree near the flooded river (in the one photo), the tree looks just like a giant net that would ultimately catch many of these pesky insects, therefore alleviating their effect on the people living nearby.  If not for these spiders reacting to the flooding, the population would be at the mercy of both the flood and the insects.  Thank God and praise Him for His majesty and wisdom!  Every creature has a divine purpose in His brilliant creation.

Well, according to the Trumpets, which I believe to be the first of the cosmic warnings to the inhabitants of the earth, we should be watching because one or more of any number of 'rogue' comets, meteorites or asteroids will be heading our way and will hit the earth.  Sometimes the 'news' seems to use the Bible as their play book, not because they believe it, but because they know many people do; whether or not they are true Christians or not, they do know what the Bible states and they like their 'ears to be tickled'.  In the end the news becomes sensationalized.  I'd like to think that some of these 'close calls' do wake some people up to the truth of God's Word.

Quote
Revelation 8:6-13
(KJV)

6And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

 8And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

9And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

 10And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

12And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

13And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

This one always gave me pause:

http://neo.jpl.nasa.gov/apophis/  or this one:  http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/space/9111608/Asteroid-heads-towards-Earth-with-one-in-625-chance-of-hitting-planet.html

When they tell us that these babies come every 800 years or so it has got to make one really think about the plan of God and how He guides everything.  That they are coming within our lifetime and during a time we feel is the cusp of the Day of the Lord, it gets even more intense and strangely wonderful.

25  General Category / Bible Study / Re: Demon possession vs. Trouble in the flesh on: February 20, 2012, 05:10:22 pm
Neither do I.

Perhaps I misunderstood.  Was going with what BA wanted?

Believer, I agree with your assessment as well as Morton’s. We shouldn’t be fearful. But we shouldn’t be ignorant or complacent about it either. I also agree with BA that Churchianity, not studying scripture, starting tattoo parlors, and setting up Starbucks, is vulnerable to being tempted to “dabble” in these days of occult revival. These beliefs/practices are constantly being promoted in children’s cartoons as harmless fun. Movies, music, television shows, video games, magazines, and toys all depict this as “normal”.

Because of what I’ve been through, I do have a healthy respect for the enemy, just as I would when dealing with a den of diamondback rattlesnakes.

Oh, believe me, TS, I am not complacent at all either.  I also agree that all that we are seeing around us in the media is a strong sign that satan is working very hard, 'for he knows his time is short' and is trying to gather as many willing souls as possible and that consists of mainly our youth.  Unfortunately, the majority of parents are not in tune with the scriptures and a lot of this blame sits squarely with today's church, just as BA has stated and the plethora of news articles on this and other sites.  Speaking of satan is like some sort of taboo, but true knowledge of his tactics is needed badly right now.  So, don't feel I am against this discussion for I am not, I welcome it and am glad BA has found some comfort in all the words here.

God Bless!

Morton had a lot to say about this subject. Much more in depth at the link.
http://www.jesus-is-savior.com/Believer%27s%20Corner/Doctrines/demon_possession.htm

Quote
Satan can take or destroy a Christian's health, body, spouse, children, money, job, testimony, church, Bible, rewards, peace, contentment, safety, security, and even his mind without possessing him! Again, nothing is secure but his soul, and Satan can even convince a believer he can take it too! The Devil is a powerful and formidable adversary and those Christians who smugly make light of his abilities and dabble in things the Bible warns against are teetering on the very edge of disaster.

I agree that this topic would be based on 'Christians' who decide to go against the commands of our Lord and 'dabble' in these satanic things, but the question is about a Christian, BA, who did not state he had dabbled in such.  Therefore, I don't believe he has been possessed.  And as to Satan's power, it is limited by the power and 'permissive' will of our God, his creator.  Although we should respect Satan or any angel, we should not be duly frightened of them either, especially if we are living by our Lord's commands.  I believe the only power Satan has over obedient Christians is mostly assault outside the spirit realm of our beings.  We cannot be in league with them both and the scripture states we cannot worship both.  God's Holy Spirit resides within us and though I agree He can leave, it is only at the person's willful request by turning their face from God and disobeying Him.  For a person to open themselves up to the point of inviting a demon to come into them, I would suspect that the Holy Spirit must obey their will and would therefore leave them, also leaving them with no protection.  This is pure speculation on my part, as I am not an expert in this field, but go by what scripture says to me.

Demons can only go where they are welcome and where there is no protection from God.  Job was an exception, willed by God for an extreme purpose.  If any person claims to be Christian and also gives testimony to possession, then I would have to question there true motive and standing in God's eyes, but that is not for me to do and so I just leave it alone.

If you have more scripture which proves that a Christian can be possessed, I am willing to look at them and change my view.
27  General Category / Bible Study / Re: Demon possession vs. Trouble in the flesh on: February 19, 2012, 11:55:47 am
If a Christian intentionally decided to practice divination with a ouija board or intentionally decided to participate in some voodoo blood ritual, there’s nowhere in the Bible that says they have some magical “satan shield”. The bible does say that the HS comes and goes as He pleases. Would God allow the possession, even temporarily?

Another scenario…a high-level priestess witch is called by the Father to Jesus. She gives her life to Christ and openly renounces all her works, destroying all the garb, contacts, and books associated with witchcraft. Is she saved? Is she really a Christian at that point in time?

Shortly thereafter, she becomes harassed by demons that affect her physically and mentally. She then seeks help from other Christians and experiences a deliverance of these things and discovers that they were inside of her during the witchcraft days. They literally come out of her and it takes 6 months of prayer with fellow Christians to completely free her. Is she a Christian? Was she really a Christian when she gave her life to Christ? Was she a Christian during those 6 months? This is based on testimony, BTW.

There’s also oppression (working from the outside) and temptation to deal with. But that doesn’t necessarily involve indwelling.

Also of note: those that have definitively and intentionally rejected God will have no problem whatsoever with being possessed. They may see it as a “gift”. The also will have no conscience. They could murder 10,000 people and sleep just fine at night.

BA, it sounds like just a confidence problem with what you have said so far. Most people develop confidence by practice to gain positive experience. Kind of like putting a fighter pilot “back in the saddle” ASAP after he has crashed a plane.

Quote
1 Corinthians 10:21 (KJV)
21Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

This says it all for me.  If she was possessed even whilst on her way to accepting Christ, it is plain that the Holy Spirit had not indwelled her yet.  Was she considered a Christian?  You tell me.

Quote
James 4:7 (KJV)
7Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

This is why I believe only unbelievers can be possessed for they cannot submit themselves to God and they cannot resist the devil.

Just to make a long story short, no, didn't have nightmares during my sleep, per se, but for some reason I just wasn't the same guy in terms of wanting to drive.

Thank you for the kind words, TS and Believer - however, just want to point out that I meant for this thread to bible study discussion on "Demon possession vs. Trouble in the flesh", not so much to focus on myself(just wanted to give what I went through as a mere example).

This whole "Demon possession vs. Trouble in the flesh" seems to have ALOT of confusion in Churchianity b/c quite simply, they don't study the scriptures anymore. When you ask a typical Churchianity folk, they'll either give an answer out of what their pastor or Sun school teacher told them, or won't have a clue at all.

Okay, BA, I'm still going to pray for you, but submit my above thoughts nevertheless that Christians can't be possessed but can be attacked.  I do believe that demon activity will increase the closer we get to the Tribulation and our Lord's coming.

BA, I don't believe that Christians can be possessed by demons.  I am on a tablet right now and so I cannot paste here, but see 1st Corinthians 10:21.  We are temples for the Holy Spirit and I do not think any demon could ever dare try to enter where He is.  I also believe the demons must be welcmed in some way.

Edit*  Sorry BA wrong verses.  I will see what I can find.  I truly believe our good Father can heal you of these fears.  I will pray for you.

Like anyone could 'hamper' God's will.  If it's happening...it's happening just as He has planned.
