September 24, 2017, 10:45:16 pm Psalm 51:17 says: The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the league rulebook. It states: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Did not leave because what was said to me in the open but what was said to me through Private Messages.

I left because a friend of mine wisely said.

A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

I leave because William clearly pointed out in his post.

There is no room for me to have any freedom here to share.  That is why I have left.

Forget it your biased as KJV Only.  I'm gone!

Where do you think Russians and Slavs and Greeks got the Word of God from?  If we had to wait for the KJV it would have taken until the 1800's because that is when the Bible Society first translated the English Bible into Welsh.  It took until the next century for the Bible Society to get around to my parents country well after WW2.

God gave us the Ancient Greek Bible within centuries of the establishment of the Early Church and I praise God we didn't spend all these centuries without the word of God in our language.  That is my perspective that some kind of decent Bible is better than no Bible at all.

So Lisa and DOK

Lisa I didn't ask for a debate on KJV and BTW it was DOK I made most of my responses to because of his comment "it was easier to read in KJV".

So DOK didn't answer my question?

Do you want me to only use the KJV only when quoting or do you want me to leave?

BTW for the record.  I have not judged anybody here for their choice of KJV only.  I can only hope you can accept I'm not a KJV only person.  If it bothers you as I said tell me to go or tell me I'm banned, whatever this is your board and not mine.

Lisa I'm sorry if you got upset over my recent post.

Typical answers by peolpe who were born with English as their first language.

You have to be a person who had to learn English to appreciate my problem with the Old Style of English.  Fortunately for me I learned the language when my parents put me into school.  Like many other migrant kids we didn't have any English when we started school in our new country and had to learn as we went but unlike my older cousins who were teenagers it was easier for me as I was very young and it was even harder from my parents to learn and my grandmother other than a few social phrases (Hello, how are you, etc) never learned English at all.

At school as a migrant kid who didn't speak English at home at all we did Chaucer.  Well you can guess I didn't do well and then there was Shakspere.  If it wasn't for my neighbours mum who took me to a bookshop and introduced me to educational tutoring books on these old English Works I wouldn't have had a clue what was being read in class or what this or that phrase meant.  I've always had a problem with your language in the Old form so please don't give me the line it is easier to read.  My mother who reads modern English well has the same problem Old English is like another lanugage to her.  Dad barely reads modern English.

If you don't mind you can stick to your King James I prefer modern English versions.  Your problemw is with NIV or Amplied or other English versions is obvious.  You have been convinced it is full errors.

I purchased an electronic Bible about 15 years ago now and it has NIV & KJV on it.  I use that to cut and paste into my forum posts so I don't have to type anything out from a Bible.

So as I have offered if you really are offended by other versions for you I can paste in verses in the KJV.

Persnally I'm not convinced that the King James is the only correct version of God's Word on the entire planet.  If it was how in the world did my family come to Christ reading a Bible in their own language that is fully translated from the Ancient Greek Septuagint?  (why the spetuigant because we don't have a language that came from Latin but from Greek and your KJV from the latin was not available back then in my parents language, not sure about today but it wasn't back then).  I am able to credit God with being able to cover His Word so that many people of different languages across the planet have been able to get a decent Bible in their own language with God's Truth intact enough to not only bring them to salvation but to enable them to understand all that was written for mankind.  Not to mention we have the Holy Spirit that can divinely lead us into His truth and give us spiritual discernment.  My first English Translation given to me was a Good News I didn't like that too simple for me I at least went through most of my schooling in english so I then choose an NIV and came across other versions like the Amplified (very helpful in having things fully spelt out).

Now if you have a problem with my not accepting King James only I can leave.  I have no problem with your limitations on what you see as acceptable scripture here.

Having come from a migrant family and having been a Teacher I understand what is helpful and what is not.  Giving people of a non-English speaking background a form of English they do not hear everyday makes it harder for them to understand.  You need to give them English that is more at the level of common everyday language because many are not educated and cannot deal with academic or formal language.  I have studied other languages and have done my certificate for being a translator.  So please do not tell me King James is easier.  It isn't for those of us who are not fully experienced in English and especially for those who are not educated in English schools.

We have the same problem here in Australia. Rats in the Subways and now disused underground tunnels.

The only place with underground train stations where I live is in the City Center and I try to get off outside the Subways and walk or take a bus to where I need to go in the city.  I've seen the Rats scurrying on the tracks just before a train pulls in it's scarey as I really don't want to be bitten by one of those things.

There are a lot of lonely Christian people out there that might fall victim to this scam because they don't have anybody to ask about it.

I'm not surprised that there are scammers using the Lord's Name to rip off people.

Praying for God's protection of the vunerable Christians out there who may not know any better and believe the words of the email as genuine.  Praying God will protect his sheep from these wolves.  In Jesus Name Amen.

I was born cynical it took coming to Jesus for me to learn to trust and to believe there are some good and honest people out there.  Fortunately my cynical nature has been turned into having good discernment and saved me from many a heartache when I began exploring other Christian church groups and fellowships outside the church I came to Christ in.  I understand not everybody out there is a keen to question other people's motives as I am and they can fall into the hands of such scammers.   Sad

7  General Category / End Times / Re: Just pure evil... on: September 21, 2011, 09:38:26 pm
When you read the Old Testament there is unfortunately "nothing new under the Sun".  Believe it or not the Evil we see around us has been experienced in the days of Noah and in the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.  If we have already reached the evil they have done on this earth we would not be still waiting for the Tribuation but God would already have poured out His wrath upon us.

Yep there are plenty of examples the Bible can give us of evil done to others.

Praise God that some of us know Jesus and we can pray for those around us.  Let us try to be Lights in a Dark place as best we can.

I know that it will get worse.  I often weep because of what we are seeing today and no longer just hearing about but seeing done in the OPEN arrogantly without any fear of authorities or being jailed or anything.   Cry

God is our fortress in times of Trouble.

Praying for the Lord's mercy on this world, for the Lost to hear the gospel of salvation and for those who are His to be able to remain in their faith and rely on the Lord to keep them & their families safe in these dark days,  Amen.

Lisa

I think that was an NIV.  If that is a problem I can use a KJV next time if you prefer (I do have one amongst my various English copies of the Bible).

If I paraphase anything from memory it won't come out KJV have read many English versions over my lifetime as a Christian.  I speak several languages and read the Bible originally in my own language.

Living so long amongst English speakers I have over the past years found myself reading in English these days.  Can't cope with Old English though it really is beyond my brain to read in it for long, I have to refer to and easier and more modern English version.

They say you revert back to your first language when you get older.  I'm not very old but I have to agree I have found myself accidently speaking my own language to my English friends more and more these days.  Not sure why, I don't have dementia yet but it could be the start of it I'm old enough.  I've seen it happen with older family who have suffered strokes or do have dementia, they end up losing their English or other language skills.

I never got into reading a KJV and I don't think at my age now I am going to bother.  My English Christian friends gave me a Good News (I have many versions today).  They used a KJV and I really found that too hard to read.  I was given an English Bible so I could do Bible Studies in English with my English speaking Christian friends.

Thanks Kilika,

Well not too busy is fine.  I'm tired of the boards where there a long bickering sessions over who knows what because by the time you get to the thread it has decended into name calling and it doesn't glorify God.

I just want to chat a little with reasonable people.  Quiet is good.

10  General Category / General News / Re: Roman Godess found in John Wesleys church on: September 20, 2011, 10:41:18 pm
Many, many, many years ago as a young Christian who loved art and antiques it never bothered me to see naked statues in gardens or at art galleries or in Museums.  I can't say that now.  God has turned up my Holy meter and I can't bear it these days.  I'm not a prude I'm just a lot more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the teaching of God's Word.  Be Holy for I the Lord your God am Holy.

Naked is naked and trying to excuse it through saying it is art is ridiculous.  Recently an Australian photographer got into hot water over naked photos in an exhibition of two young girls (under aged & yes you could see their private parts in the photos but the newspaper blanked those out).  There are many in the Art community who have stood by this man claiming it wasn't inappropriate.  The law here prohibits the public display of naked children, Thank God for that.  Just because the mothers of the children OKed the photos doesn't make it inappropriate. This man is obsessed with naked children yet he hasn't been able to be prosecuted as a Peadophile but if anyone downloads hisso called ART images from the internet it would be considered Child pornography.  You can apparently still buy his so called ART and display it in a private dwelling.

Today I see any naked figures, paintings, live art (naked people painted) and photos as totally against the Lord's commandments.

1CO 12:21 The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" 22 On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, 25 so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. 26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

11  General Category / General News / Re: UK Muslims burn American flag on 9/11 outside American Embassy on: September 20, 2011, 10:26:03 pm
I'm not surprised that Muslims in England are so outspoken and openly arrogant these days.

Many years ago in the late 1980s and early 1990s an English man (I think he was a Pastor) made a number of prophecies concerning England and their Muslim population.  His name was David Pawson.  Now I only heard a few of his audio tapes from a friend of mine that has some of his material.  Personally I had forgotten really about it until a few years ago when England began to have trouble with their own Muslim population.  From what I recall (remember I listened to these tapes years ago now) David Pawson was encouraging Christians to Turn Back to God & to Repent.  He then pointed out if English Christians would not Repent and Return to the Lord you would see major problems with the Muslims that lived among you.  This he all prophesied long before there was any political or social concerns about home grown Islamic terrorism.

I wonder if David Pawson is still around as he wasn't a young man when he made those audio tapes over 20 years ago.  He could have even been a retired Pastor.

I know my friend whose tapes they were used to say to me whenever there was something going on with Muslims in England "David Pawson was right".  She passed away just last year.  Anyway that just popped into my head when I saw this thread title.

I can't recall enough details from this man's tapes to say he was right or wrong.  It would just be something my dear Christian friend would refer to when she saw things about Muslims in the UK.

Hi NextStopHeaven,

Welcome to the forum

Have you tried the AV toolbar at www.contendingfortruth.com ?

It will help you pick some Christian sites.

I hate installing toolbars and then having to uninstall them as you never get rid of all their component 100%.  My OLd PC is limping along at the moment and I even did a clean up as best I could.  I assume the website might have some Christian forum site suggestions or links so I will check the website out.

I have installed Worthy Links Christian Search Engine  (not as a tool bar but on my list of search engines only).  That is how I came across the most recent Christian site I went to but as I said before they were really at each others throat there.  I checked out a few more websites but either they have specific doctrines I can't agree with or are very restrictive to the point of brainwashing.  I've spent a few months checking them out.  One I was recommended by another ex-RR member is RITAN or Rapture in the Air Now.  I don't have broadband and  they are a bit graphics heavy so it takes me ages to go from one page to another and I haven't spent much time there.  Olders mainly text style boards suit me better because I have only dialup (heaven help me when the modem goes you can't buy new ones and I think my provider wants to force us over to broadband but I don't think I can go from $8.00 a month to around $60.00).

So I have a few PC issues to consider not just what the forum is like.

Honestly so far the other forums I have tried really haven't been as good as RR despite their mods being a bit over the top these days.  I was with RR before Todd Strandberg retired and changed the admin and mods.  It was my second experience of a Christian forum and I was grateful because it was so good compared to the first one.  I can tell you some of the others I have checked out since having a look at what is out there has made my hair curl.  It certainly gave me an education in what some Liberal Christians believe these days and I accidently came across some secular boards with a supposed Religious Section where there were some Christians as well.  I need to get out more I have been sort of wrapped in Christian Cotton wool until now.

This board seems good I was thinking why don't I just stay here if you will have me?
14  General Category / Bible Study / Re: Church replacing Israel? on: September 20, 2011, 07:30:17 am
Unfortunately my church denomination has some Ministers that teach Replacement Theology.  It has led to a kind of arrogance against Jews and I would say some are even Jew haters because of this teaching.

The Apostle Paul clearly teaches us that God has not finished with Israel.

If these Replacement Theologists actually new their Old Testament they would see Israel clearly living with Jesus in Jerusalem during the Millenium.  I won't go into a great teaching sermon here.  I'm not good at Apologetics.

Oliver Melnick is correct in saying that Replacement Theology adds to global anti-semitic numbers by causing many Christians to have strong feelings against Israel.

Quote
Olivier Melnick of Chosen People Ministries says there has been a rebirth of global anti-Semitism as many people, including Christians, are falling prey to the idea that Israel is the problem in the Middle East and is treating Palestinians unjustly.

Quote
ZEC 12:1 This is the word of the LORD concerning Israel. The LORD, who stretches out the heavens, who lays the foundation of the earth, and who forms the spirit of man within him, declares: 2 "I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem. 3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves. 4 On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness," declares the LORD. "I will keep a watchful eye over the house of Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations. 5 Then the leaders of Judah will say in their hearts, `The people of Jerusalem are strong, because the LORD Almighty is their God.'

Unfortunately I have heard the Replacement Theologists interpret these scriptures to mean that Christians will be in Jerusalem at the time when all the nations will rage againt her.  Honestly it doesn't make sense with Christians being spread around the world and Christians are not being gathered to Jerusalem and they will not all be there in one big group at the end of the Tribulation.

Well if they end up going through the Tribulation maybe their eyes will be opened to the Truth of the matter.

Hey back to you Kilika.

BornAgain2 mentions a few websites I am familiar with, there have been a few Prophecy Forums formed by various banned RR members.  Some have closed down now and there are one or two that have very few members that post so it may be days before you get a reply.

I have tried out Worthy Forums but I found there are a few very intense members there who have definite views or opinions and if you cross them they really make life difficult for you as they follow you around and goad you into debating them or are just plain obnoxious.

If I do a search for Christian or Jesus you come up with so many sites and it is hard to decide what sites to begin with.

Thank you for all that work you put into the article.

I must admit I have only read part of it as I have a headcold and I'm not able to take in adequately all you wrote.

I certainly need to come back and give it another good read because what I did read so far proved interesting.

I'm not a baby christian anymore or a super fleshly one either.   I wouldn't say I have attained a really good self-control over my tongue yet after all these years but I have learned to be a bit more humble lately (not due to choice but I suspect through God's disciplining tactics).  I've got a long way to go yet to reach perfection in Christ.

I was doing a website search for Good Christian sites/forums when I came across this page on your forum.

Sorry let me say Hi, I'm a middle aged married Christian lady.  Long time Christian on the conservative side but adventerous and happy to meet other Christians from different backgrounds to mine.

Anyway I noticed Born Again Got banned from Rapture Ready.  I too had been banned last year when I had the hide to ask why one of my friends on there was banned when she was set upon first.  You don't question the mods why anybody is banned apparently and so I got banned for a while last year.  Sort of a slap on wrist thing to put me in line I guess.

Anyway I have tried a couple of other Christian Forums to see if I could find another good one that was smaller and has Christian Believers who are Christ and Bible centered.  Unfortunately they were so argumentative and allowed quite a few heretical teachings without any serious intervention from the moderators.  There is such a thing as very lax moderators I found out.  Also these websites allowed members to personally attack each other.  That is just not my cup of tea.

So I have dropped in here to check out some of your suggestions.

I have a question.  Has anyone here been to Rapture in the Air Now {RITAN).  I have noticed they are similar to Rapture Ready but I have a few reservations about them.  If anyone has any good or bad observations of their own I would appreciate it.

Thanks
