The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Snippet:

The NFL, trapped in a box of its own making, is desperate to find some graceful way out. But there really is none. If, as expected, the league orders all players to stand during the Anthem, one player has already predicted an "uproar," and many on the left will immediately scream "racism!"

We see it already. After Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said that his players will stand, the charming Al Sharpton said Jones has a "plantation mentality." The rapper Common went farther, accusing Jones of acting like a "slave owner." Even sports pundit Michael Wilbon, usually a reasonable guy, trotted out the "plantation" analogy.

‘Kneel-In’ protest planned outside stadium before Panthers-Eagles game

By Joe Marusak And Michael Gordon

October 11, 2017 8:42 PM

A “Kneel-In” protest outside of tonight’s Panthers-Eagles football game was inspired by the recent police shooting of Ruben Galindo, one of the event organizers said.

The demonstration is part of a controversial movement sweeping through the country and its most popular sport. Bishop Kevin Long of Temple Church International-Charlotte said Thursday night’s event outside of Bank of America Stadium will have a local bent.

“Not only does our protest include Mr. Galindo, it was inspired by the recent discovery of his unfortunate and unnecessary demise,” Long told the Observer on Thursday.

Video of the Sept. 6 incident was released last week under a court order at the request of the Observer and the Charlotte nonprofit, Action NC.

The footage shows Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers opening fire on the 29-year-old after a brief confrontation outside his home. Police Chief Kerr Putney says lethal force was used – and justified – in the stand-off because Galindo refused to put down a gun. Galindo had his hands in the air when he was shot, less than 4 seconds after police first ordered him to drop his weapon.

Police-shooting experts who have watched the video questioned whether Galindo posed the “imminent threat” necessary to justify the use of deadly force, and whether the officers gave Galindo enough time to respond to a series of commands about his handgun. Galindo had called 911 that night to ask police to pick him up for a future court date. He also told dispatchers that he had a gun but it was not loaded. Police say the handgun recovered at the scene was empty.

The case remains under investigation by the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office and police.

“The Galindo tape is disgusting,” said Braxton Winston, a Charlotte activist and Charlotte City Council candidate. “It’s one of the most egregious forms of police-shooting videos that I’ve ever seen.”

Robert Dawkins of Action NC, who helped persuade a judge to release the footage, has complained for days on social media that the case has not drawn the attention it deserves, and urging other local groups to become publicly involved.

“Tell me what U have 2 do 2 get national coverage for police killings?” Dawkins tweeted over the weekend. “Cause I can’t figure out why nobody wants to cover Galindo case in CLT.”

Thursday’s 7:30 p.m. event at Mint and Graham streets by the new Pastors and Community Leaders Coalition might change that. Nearly 100 pastors and community leaders plan to take part in the “Kneel-In,” Long said.

The protest, which organizers say will draw participants mostly from the Carolinas, intends to highlight ongoing police brutality and social and racial injustice, just as former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick did while the national anthem was played before a 2016 NFL game, Long said.

The protests at NFL games have drawn the ire of President Donald Trump and set off a coast-to-coast debate on respecting the flag vs. the players’ rights to comment on public issues.

In a statement Wednesday night, the coalition said the kneel-in aims to shed light on “police brutality, lack of accountability for officers who’ve killed innocent and/or unarmed citizens, and the high rates of unemployment for minorities.”

“This is a call for accountability,” the coalition said. “Kneeling is merely the method we have chosen, it is not the message in its entirety. The message is that there is a deep and very wide gulf between the Black and Brown communities and others in this country, and we are not compelled to stand that.”

Other kneel-in protests are scheduled in Baltimore and other cities in coming days, according to the coalition.

The last demonstrations outside the stadium followed the September 2016 shooting of Keith Lamont Scott, an African-American shot outside his home in north Charlotte. Police say Scott also refused to put down a gun.

Georgia Ferrell, the mother of a Charlotte man fatally shot by a CMPD officer in 2013, is expected to attend the Thursday night event, Long said.

According to Dawkins, the Charlotte event initially did not include the Galindo case. But he said Thursday that he has been assured by Long that the oversight has been corrected.

Long told the Observer that the protest organizers “are not excluding members of the Latino community.”

“We do not want the narrative hijacked that this is exclusively a black issue,” he said. “It’s about people of color who at a disproportionate rate have been the victims of unnecessary and unprovoked police shootings.”

Across town tonight, Putney will meet with the Latino community to discuss issues surround the shooting during a 6:30 p.m. gathering in north Charlotte.

California Hepatitis A Outbreak on Verge of Statewide Epidemic

The California hepatitis A outbreak is on the verge of reaching statewide epidemic status, as cases have spread through homeless tent cities from San Diego north to Sacramento.

California health officials have reported that at least 569 people have been infected with the hepatitis A liver disease and 17 have died since a San Diego County outbreak was first identified in November. Cases have migrated north to homeless populations in Los Angeles, Santa Cruz, San Francisco and Sacramento over the last 11 months.

Although local and state authorities have tried to underplay the risks and severity of the outbreak, the most recent annual totals for cases of hepatitis A in the United States was 1,390 in 2015, according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC). California only reported 179 cases during the same year.

The highly-contagious hepatitis A outbreak may have taken root because of the City of San Diego’s efforts in the run-up to Major League Baseball’s All-Star Game held at Petco Park in July 2016 to push the homeless, and the rampant drug and prostitution trade among them, out of the downtown tourist venues. Those effort included locking public bathrooms and essentially relocating the homeless to the congested tent city encampments that stretch for blocks east of downtown near freeway onramps.

Marco Rubio Headlines Fundraiser for Anti-Trump Senator Jeff Flake

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) attended a fundraiser for Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) on Monday in a bid to support his 2018 Senate reelection campaign against challenger Kelli Ward.

Rubio was the headline speaker at the exclusive event in Scottsdale, Arizona, for which lunch tickets cost $100 and VIP tickets cost $500.

Both Rubio and Flake were part of the “Gang of Eight” that proposed the 2013 immigration bill that sought to provide amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants. Flake subsequently endorsed Rubio’s failed 2016 presidential campaign.

When asked by Breitbart News why he endorsed Flake, Rubio’s office did not return a request for comment.

Flake has been a prominent critic of President Donald Trump from the outset, having refused to back his presidential campaign and regularly attacking the policies of his administration, particularly those regarding immigration. Flake proudly describes himself as a “globalist.”

Meanwhile, Trump has already signaled his support for Flake’s primary challenger Kelli Ward, describing Flake as “weak on borders” and “toxic.”

A poll conducted by JMC Analytics in August found that Ward already has a 25-point lead against Flake more than a year before the election, currently polling at 47 percent support compared to Flake’s 21 percent.

Fake News Media Working Overtime To Push A Phony Narrative About Motive Of Las Vegas Shooter Stephen Paddock
So why are the media insistent that Paddock was getting rich by playing video poker? I don’t know what happened — and, apparently, neither do the cops — but it’s kind of odd that we keep being told things that aren’t true about the Las Vegas massacre, from the basic timeline to this weird insistence that Paddock made a good living at gambling.

10/12/17

Now the media are just taunting us with their tall tales about Stephen Paddock, the alleged Las Vegas shooter. Reputedly serious news organizations are claiming that he made a living playing video poker. That’s like claiming someone made a living smoking crack.

EDITOR’S NOTE: The mystery of exactly who Stephen Paddock was is straight out of the classic conspiracy handbook. No provable source of income, yet he had access to seemingly endless piles of money. A world traveller who loved visiting, of all places, the Middle East. Pulls off a highly-complicated mass shooting that, when examined on paper, is right in line with how ISIS plans attacks. And then there is the event itself. They say he was a “lone wolf”, yet a woman walked through the crowd warning people of danger. To  my mind, Stephen Paddock sounds just a like a black ops CIA agent who was killed by his other team members so they could have a fall guy to blame it on. One thing is for sure so far, though. Nothing coming from either the fake news media or the government is even remotely close to true. I’m actually waiting for the “warren report” to tell me about another “magic bullet”. That’s how much this whole thing stinks.

The media are either doing PR for the gambling industry or they don’t want anyone considering the possibility that Paddock was using gambling to launder money.

NBC News reports, with a straight face: “Las Vegas gunman earned millions as a gambler.” A Los Angeles Times article is headlined, “In the solitary world of video poker, Stephen Paddock knew how to win.” The story says that Paddock’s gambling “was at least a steady income over a period of years.”
I don’t know all the ins and outs of Paddock’s life, but that’s a lie.

How do reporters imagine casino owners make a living? Any ideas on how all those glorious lobbies, lights, pools, and fountains are paid for? How do they think Sheldon Adelson and Steve Wynn became billionaires if gambling is a winning proposition for people like Paddock — and therefore, by definition, a losing proposition for the casinos?

The media think about money the way Democrats do. They have absolutely no conception of where it originates. Those casino owners sure are generous! reporters think to themselves. Economist Thomas Sowell is always ridiculing journalists for not understanding basic economics. It turns out, they don’t understand the spreadsheet of a lemonade stand.

The New York Times explained that the “top” video poker machines pay out 99.17 percent. That’s great that Paddock was only losing cents on the dollar (if true), but it’s still losing. The Times quickly explained that he could have more than made up his losses with all the “comps” — the free rooms, meals and “50-year-old port that costs $500 a glass,” as his brother Eric said.
Does anyone believe the brother is telling the truth? I sure don’t:

Gamblers who are beating the house are not given $500 glasses of port. Refer to the profit/loss spreadsheet. And yet, according to his brother, Paddock was treated like royalty by the casinos. Which means he was losing.

Apart from outright theft, the only way to have an advantage over the casino is by card-counting. That’s not cheating and it doesn’t guarantee a win. It merely allows the gambler to make a more educated guess as each card is played, thereby tilting the odds ever so slightly in his favor. Still, if the casinos suspect a customer is counting cards, he will be promptly escorted off the premises.
The mysteries swirling around the ’32nd floor’ grow deeper by the minute:

Listen to the voiceover guy almost sensually utter the words “32nd floor” in the same velvety-tones they used to mention the “grassy knoll” in. The whole thing is dripping in phoniness.

And counting cards only helps with blackjack. Paddock’s game of choice was VIDEO POKER. That’s a computer! It’s programmed to ensure the house wins. Not all the time, but at least often enough to make casino owners multi-billionaires. Anyone who plays video poker over an extended period of time will absolutely, 100 percent, by basic logic, end up a net loser.

The most likely explanation is that the reporters and investigators are incompetent nitwits. But the changing facts from law enforcement and preposterous lies from the press aren’t doing a lot to tamp down alternative theories of the crime.
Among the questions not being asked by our wildly incurious media:

Why would Paddock unload 200 rounds into the hallway at a security guard who was checking on someone else’s room before beginning his massacre?
How can it possibly take eight days to figure out when the alleged shooter checked into the hotel?
Why was Paddock wearing gloves if he was about to commit suicide?
Have any other solitary mass shooters ever had girlfriends?

If Paddock wasn’t making money on video poker — and he wasn’t — why would he be cycling millions of dollars through a casino, turning every dollar into, at best, 99 cents?

Maybe Paddock enjoyed video poker. But if the allegedly serious media are going to keep telling us he was making a living doing it, they’re just begging us to say that losing a percent or two on millions of dollars doesn’t make sense as an investment strategy, but it does make sense as a money laundering operation.

And the probable illicit business requiring money to be laundered that leaps out at us in Paddock’s case is illegal gun sales. If true, it would not only explain the arsenal in his hotel room, but also raises the possibility of either an accomplice or different perpetrator altogether.

If this were a movie script, a terrorist would go to Paddock’s room on the pretense of buying guns, kill Paddock, commit the massacre, put his gunshot residue-covered gloves on Paddock’s dead hands and slip out of the room when the coast was clear.

According to the all-new timeline given by the Las Vegas police — pending a third revision — this is at least possible. The hallway was empty, except for a bleeding security guard down by the elevators, for at least two minutes after the shooting stopped. The stairwell was clear for more than half an hour. It also explains the gloves.

There’s no evidence for any of this, but on the other hand, there’s no evidence for the version the media are giving us. At least the movie script version doesn’t require us to pretend that Paddock was making “millions” from video poker. source

Cowboys players turning on Jerry Jones over anthem ‘trash’

It sounds like at least one Cowboys player would like to protest Jerry Jones’ protest against the NFL’s widespread national anthem protests.

After the Dallas owner put his foot down with an ultimatum stating any player on his team who protests during the national anthem will be benched, the whispers have begun leaking out of the Cowboys locker room about the man who signs their checks.

“I’ve never heard this tone from Jerry, ever. Goes against everything he told us in Arizona,” one player, granted anonymity, told ESPN’s Josina Anderson on Wednesday.

In Arizona, Jones had knelt in prayer with the team, arms interlocked, just before the start of “The Star-Spangled Banner.” During the song itself, though, the entire team stood — which earned President Trump’s blessing, deeming pre-anthem statements OK but mid-anthem statements an apparent jab at the flag.

“Jerry told us to trust in him on this sit’n,” the player told Anderson. “Now I don’t know what 2 believe. That whole kneel b4 t/ anthem was trash.”

Jones thought he had threaded the needle of allowing his players to make a statement while not enraging a president and fanbase that wants everyone to stand during the anthem. But on Sunday, Jones demanded his players not protest racial discrimination in the US or Trump — as to what a protest entails, Jones said, “You’ll know it when you see it” — and threatened to bench any player who disobeyed.

Defensive ends Damontre Moore and David Irving had raised their fists at the song’s conclusion Sunday, but Jones insisted their statement came after the anthem was finished.

Trump and Jones have been in contact since the owner spun the anthem protest that Colin Kaepernick began by sitting and then kneeling for the song. After their chats, Jones decided he could not alienate any of his customers.

The league union released a statement condemning the mandate, saying: “We should not stifle these discussions and cannot allow our rights to become subservient to the very opinions our Constitution protects. This is what makes us the land of the free and home of the brave.”

Meanwhile, the NFL is contemplating whether to make standing for the song mandatory.

“It is what it is,” another player told Anderson about Jones. “Making more out of political BS on both sides.”

BREAKING!!! US Withdraws!!!

The US has withdrawn from UNESCO, the UN’s cultural body.

RT.com reporters; The US State Department confirmed the country is officially withdrawing from UNESCO, the UN's cultural body it helped found back in 1945. The move is to take effect on December 31, Washington announced.

This decision was not taken lightly, and reflects US concerns with mounting arrears at UNESCO, the need for fundamental reform in the organization, and continuing anti-Israel bias at UNESCO," the State Department said in a Thursday statement cited by Reuters.

Washington will remain in the organization "as a non-member observer state in order to contribute US views, perspectives and expertise," the statement said.

There has been no immediate comment from the US government.

BREAKING: University Bans Christian Group!
10/12/17

A college of Oxford University banned a student Christian group from appearing at a freshman fair out of fear it would lead to "alienating" students who practice other religions.

From Fox News:

A college of Oxford University banned a student Christian group from appearing at a freshman fair out of fear it would lead to "alienating" students who practice other religions.

The Christian Union of Oxford’s Balliol College was initially banned by an event organizer who felt students might feel “unwelcome” due to what he calls the Christian religion being “an excuse for homophobia and neo-colonialism,” The Times of London reported.

“We recognise the wonderful advantages in having CU representatives at the freshers fair but are concerned that there is potential for harm to freshers who are already struggling to feel welcome in Oxford,” Frederick Potts, vice president of the undergraduate student body, reportedly said in an email to the Christian group.

Potts added: “Christianity’s influence on many marginalised communities has been damaging in its methods of conversion and rules of practice, and is still used in many places as an excuse for homophobia and certain forms of neo-colonialism.”

Potts, according to The Daily Telegraph, said that event organizers initially wanted the fair to be a “secular space” because they were unsure if “every major belief system” would have a spot at the student fair.

“Many students, especially students of colour and of other faiths, may already feel alienated and vulnerable in Oxford, a university with a reputation for racism and lack of diversity, and a city with barely any appropriate places of worship for non-Christians," Potts said, according to The Telegraph.

Event organizers eventually agreed to allow the event to have one "multi-faith" stall that would permit religious groups to display brochures, according to The Guardian. The Christian Union reportedly "boycotted" that as an option.

BREAKING: Trump's Executive Orders To Change Everything!

Details on President Trump's executive orders on healthcare have been released.

From Fox News:

The White House announced Thursday that President Trump is taking executive action on health care as Congress stalls on efforts to overhaul ObamaCare, calling for a plan that could let employers band together and offer coverage across state lines.

An executive order Trump plans to sign Thursday morning aims to offer “alternatives” to ObamaCare plans and increase competition to bring down costs.

“The time has come to give Americans the freedom to purchase health insurance across state lines, which will create a truly competitive national marketplace that will bring costs way down and provide far better care,” Trump said in a statement.

According to officials, Trump will direct the secretary of Labor to consider expanding access to Association Health Plans, which could allow employers to form groups across state lines offering coverage. According to the White House, these plans could offer lower rates.

The order also calls on other federal agencies to consider expanding coverage in low-cost, short-term insurance plans not subject to ObamaCare rules.

BREAKING: Vegas Shooter Exposed "Complaining" Night Before Shooting!

10/12/17

Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock complained about country music the night before his cowardly shooting.

From Zerohedge:

In another bizarre detail about how Las Vegas shooter Stephen Paddock spent his last days at the Mandalay Bay resort and casino before launching the worst mass shooting in US history, one unidentified law enforcement source told CBS that Paddock twice called hotel security the night before the shooting to complain about loud country music emanating from the floor below.

Albert Garzon of San Diego said that security guards asked him to turn down music he was playing in his suite on the 31st floor at around 1:30 am Sunday, a little over 20 hours before the rampage on a country music festival. When different security guards paid Garzon another visit about his music a half-hour later, he turned it off.

A staffer at the hotel also reported that Paddock acted abruptly with them over some other issue, Milton reports. Apparently, Paddock had a history of being rude or overbearing with hotel staff. A former executive casino host at the Atlantis Casino Resort and Spa in Reno said Paddock had a "god complex" and expected quick service without regard to how busy the staff was at the time.

All the evidence uncovered by police so far suggests that Paddock started planning his rampage weeks in advance, even booking rooms near music festivals in other cities like Chicago and Boston earlier in the summer. He also booked a room near the Life is Beautiful music festival in Vegas that took place in late September – though it’s not clear whether he planned massacres at any of these sites.

Boy Scouts of America to allow girls to join, earn Eagle Scout rank

(Reuters) - In a historic shift, the Boy Scouts of America will let girls enroll in Cub Scouts starting next year and allow them to eventually earn the highest rank of Eagle Scout, the organization said on Wednesday.

The unanimous decision by the 100-year-old group’s board of directors came after years of requests from families and girls, it said, though the announcement prompted a largely negative reaction on social media.

“We believe it is critical to evolve how our programs meet the needs of families interested in positive and lifelong experiences for their children,” Boy Scouts Chief Executive Michael Surbaugh said in a statement.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) has lost about a third of its members since 2000, which now stands at 2.3 million. BSA insisted that allowing girls was in response to the needs of families, not related to declining membership.

The Girl Scouts of the USA said girls thrive in a girl-only environment, and that “we are girl experts.”

Starting in 2018, the Boy Scouts will allow girls to join the 7- to 10-year-old Cub Scouts. Small, community-level “dens” will be single-gender. Larger “packs,” which are comprised of dens, will decide whether to include dens of each gender or not, the BSA said.

In a program to be announced next year and projected to start in 2019, girls will follow the same curriculum as the Boy Scouts, which are for ages 11-17.

Surbaugh in a tweet said, “Today, the BSA opens a new chapter in our history w/a unanimous vote to welcome girls to Cub through Eagle Rank.”

After the announcement, the Girl Scouts issued a statement that did not mention the Boy Scouts or its move to include girls.

“Girl Scouts remains committed to and believes strongly in the importance of the all-girl, girl-led and girl-friendly environment that Girl Scouts provides, which creates a necessary safe space for girls to learn and thrive,” the organization said.

In August, a top Girl Scout official accused the Boy Scouts of running a “covert campaign” to recruit girls to increase its declining membership, the Washington Post reported.

The program for girls older than Cub Scouts projected to begin in 2019 will allow them to earn the Eagle Scout rank, the highest achievement in the organization.

On social media, hundreds of people were critical of the news, with many posts echoing the sentiments of Donald Trump Jr., the president’s son.

“Strange, I thought that’s what the Girl Scouts was for???” he said on Twitter.

Sing Oldham, spokesman for the Southern Baptist Convention, said the announcement continued a “reinvention” of the Boy Scouts his group does not support, including the decision in 2013 to allow openly gay members.

In January, the Boy Scouts also opted to allow transgender boys to join.
