It states: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

"Louisiana legislators are taking the term “Bible Belt” to a whole new level. The state’s House of Representatives will vote on a bill later this week to make the Holy Bible the state’s official book.

The bill’s sponsor, Rep. Thomas Carmody, a Republican from Shreveport, submitted the legislation on March 10 on behalf of Randy Dill, a constituent who has wanted to make the Bible the state's official book since 1988 but couldn't find a legislator to support the issue until Carmody took up his cause.

In his original legislation, Carmody sought to make the oldest edition of the Bible in the Louisiana State Museum system become the official state symbol. However, he changed the bill’s language, and now, if it becomes law, it would make the entirety of the generic King James Version of the Bible become the state's official book.

“The Holy Bible would be appropriate for the state of Louisiana,” he told the Advocate.

The legislation cleared the House Municipal, Parochial and Cultural Affairs Committee in an 8-5 vote on Thursday, but not before stoking some controversy.

The Times-Picayune reported that some legislators are worried the proposal isn’t inclusive enough to accommodate the different Bibles used by various religious communities. For example, the King James Version of the Bible isn’t the preferred text for the Roman Catholic Church, which is one of the state’s largest denominations.

Other lawmakers are worried that the bill could expose the state to lawsuits from citizens who aren’t Christian. Rep. Ebony Woodruff, a Democrat, tried to make the measure more inclusive with a proposed amendment to have “all books of faith” become the official state book. But that proposal failed in a 5-8 vote.

Carmody, who said the bill isn’t about establishing an official religion, told the paper he “would certainly be against” an amendment that would make “all books of faith” be a group of official state books.

The American Civil Liberties Union of Louisiana said the measure will discriminate against Louisianans of minority faith. “The bill will create more problems than it will solve by telling some Louisianans that their belief system is not fully equal,” the nonprofit told KTAL."

Yes, Louisiana, ESPECIALLY in the south of that state, is PREDOMINANTLY Catholic(even the so-called Baptist churches work arm-in-arm with them). And to boot, their governor(Bobby Jindal) is also Catholic, who went around speaking in Baptist churches' pulpits.(and for that matter too, in the south of this state are Pentacostal churches on almost every street corner)

Ultimately - this is likely a puppet show on their part to appease professing Churchianity there. When all is said and done, likely nothing will come out of it - I've seen this many times in my lifetime before(which also happens to be part of their Hegelian Dialectic Left vs. "religious right" game).

As for Louisiana itself - it's also been a corrupt state where they have "the best politicians money can buy" - they had Edwin Edwards TWICE(look him up when you get the chance - he's always been a known criminal who finally got his jail time shortly after he left office in 1995).

Different bibles? As in the other perverted bible versions like the NIV, NLT, NKJB, the Message, etc?

Yeah, I think I see where this is going - they likely want to cause a further split in Churchianity circles. The KJB isn't exactly the preferred text for the Southern Baptist Convention for that matter too.

Lawmaker shelves bill to name Bible as state book
4/21/14

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- A Shreveport lawmaker is scrapping his proposal to name the Bible as Louisiana's official state book.

Republican Rep. Thomas Carmody told the state House on Monday that he wouldn't pursue the measure. He said lawmakers had told him they were worried the bill was becoming a distraction from more important debates, like the state budget.

Carmody had said he sponsored the proposal after a constituent made the request. He insisted the bill wasn't designed to be a state-endorsement of Christianity or a specific religion.

But lawmakers said it raises questions about whether Louisiana would be violating the separation of church and state. Opponents said it could land the Legislature in a costly lawsuit.

Seriously, everyone needs to open up their bibles and READ it for themselves!

Louisiana has had a budget deficit every year since Bobby Jindal came into office - Jindal is also a Roman Catholic, who(when serving as LA's health secretary) slowly but surely destroyed New Orleans' free healthcare system. As rotten as NOLA is, nonetheless it had the BEST free healthcare system in the country. And not to mention too the whole Gulf Oil Spill happened under his watch 4 years ago.

And yes - even elections at the state/local level are rigged too - when the (false flag)Katrina happened, the then-governor(Kathleen Blanco) took the fall, which was when I started to see "Don't blame me, I voted for Jindal!" bumper stickers afterwards(he ran for governor in 2003, and lost - that race was scripted, as he had the lead going into the final stretch, but did nothing when the Blanco team started a smear campaign).

Ultimately, never put your faith in a man!
