1st Thes 4:11-12

1Thes 4:11  And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
1Th 4:12  That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.


NIV
1 Thes 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you,
1 Thes 4:12 so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.


1) In verse 11 in the KJB, it says to DO your own business. However, in the NIV, it says to MIND your own business. HUGE difference, why? Just think about it for a second...what are you doing when you DO something?(whether it's gardening, your place of employment, a hobby, etc)

2) With that being said in #1 - look how there's a COMMA b/w "business" and "and to work with your own hands" in the KJB, but this comma is NOT there in the NIV. Pt being that the context of what the KJB is saying is that when you're DOING WORK(like said, whether it's doing a job, a task at home, etc), you work with your own hands and study to be quiet. It has NOTHING to do with meddling in other people's business(which the NIV perverts).

Colossians 3:12  Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;

3) The NIV perverts verse 12 saying "may win the respect of outsiders". Uhm...God is NOT a respecter of persons!

Also, take this verse into account...

Philippians 2:4  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

and this...

Philippians 3:16  Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.


No wonder why the Apostate Church pushes this "Judge not, lest ye be judged..." nonsense on EVERYONE.

Also...

Notice how they delete "study" in the NIV - this is NOT the only time they do so in these perversions.

And ambition is a form of PRIDE. It's NOT in the KJB.
