Rick Warrens's Shallow Gospel

Rick Warren talks a lot about “the gospel.” At the Exponential 2013 conference, which was hosted by Warren’s Saddleback Church, the theme was preaching the gospel and making disciples.

But what gospel does Warren preach? In chapter 7 of his ultra-popular book The Purpose Driven Life, he explains as follows how to become a Christian:

“If you are not sure you have done this, all you need to do is receive and believe. ... First, believe. Believe God loves you and made you for his purposes. Believe you’re not an accident. Believe you were made to last forever. Believe God has chosen you to have a relationship with Jesus, who died on the cross for you. Believe that no matter what you’ve done, God wants to forgive you. Second, receive. Receive his forgiveness for your sins. Receive his Spirit, who will give you the power to fulfill your life purpose. ... Wherever you are reading this, I invite you to bow your head and quietly whisper the prayer that will change your eternity. ‘Jesus, I believe in you and I receive you.’ Go ahead. If you sincerely meant that prayer, congratulations! Welcome to the family of God!” (The Purpose Driven Life, pp. 58, 59).

This is one of the most superficial “gospels” I have ever seen. There is nothing here that would offend or convict the Pope, a Mormon, or even many New Agers. It is not the gospel that was preached in the book of Acts or Romans.

For one thing, there is no clear dealing with sin. Warren’s book is intended for wide distribution in society at large, and it is not sufficient in such a context merely to mention the word “sin.” The average individual in North America will admit that he is not perfect and that he is a “sinner” in some sense, but he also thinks of himself as a pretty good person. When he thinks of himself as a sinner, he does not mean what the Bible means, that he was shaped in iniquity and conceived in sin (Psa. 51:5), that his heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked and full of evil (Jer. 17:9; Ecc. 9:3), that he is unrighteous and unprofitable (Rom. 3:10-11), that in his flesh dwells no good thing (Rom. 7:18), and that his very righteousness is as filthy rags before a holy God (Isa. 64:6).

Rick Warren’s incredibly shallow gospel allows any person who will admit that he is a sinner in any sense whatsoever to pray a “sinner’s prayer” and then to consider himself a genuine Christian, even though he might continue to deny what the Bible says about sin and to think of himself as sort of a good person.

There are many other things we could expose in Warren’s gospel. There is nothing about God’s holiness and justice. There is no clear teaching on what Jesus did on the cross. There is nothing about the blood of Christ.

Warren invites the reader to “believe on Jesus.” What Jesus? People today believe in all sorts of false christs, but Warren does not warn them of this nor does he take the time to identify the true Jesus of the Bible in any clear fashion and to distinguish Him from false ones, such as the false christ of The Shack or the Roman Catholic wafer Jesus or the New Age yoga Jesus. According to Rick Warren’s gospel, all you need is to “believe on Jesus” and, presto, you are ready to heaven.

And Warren completely ignores repentance. There is not a hint that the sinner must repent of his sin and idolatry and false gospels. This is not the gospel that the apostle Paul preached. Paul summarized his message as follows: “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21).

Warren says that he believes in the Great Commission and he mentions it in passing in The Purpose Driven Life, but he ignores repentance, which is a part of the Great Commission. Christ gave the Great Commission in Luke 24:44-48 and He commanded that “repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations.”

The apostle Paul boldly preached repentance to the philosophers and idolaters in Athens, and if he were alive today, he would preach repentance to the idolaters in America! Paul said that God “now commandeth all men every where to repent” (Acts 17:30), and we can be sure that God hasn’t changed His mind.

Beware of Rick Warren. He is the blind leading the blind. He is an end-time bridge builder extraordinaire for the apostate one-world “church.”

Notice too Warren doesn't point you to the word of God(the KJB) - he just says, "Do this, say that, and PRESTO!". Whatever happened to showing someone the pages of the bible, and explaining things to them if they have questions?

"He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church." 1 Corinthians 14:4 (KJB)

30  And Philip ran thither to [him], and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31  And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
Acts 8:30,31 (KJB)

"But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him." 1 John 2:27 (KJB)

Rick Warren Visits Jesse Jackson Jr. in Prison: 'We Just Want to Love on Him and Pray With Him'

Saddleback Church Founding Pastor Goes to North Carolina Federal Facility to See Disgraced Congressman

Rick Warren, founding pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., has confirmed a visit to disgraced former Illinois Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. in his North Carolina prison on Friday, describing the visit in a public statement as a "private moment."

Jackson, currently serving a 30-month sentence for stealing $750,000 in campaign funds for personal purchases, has started receiving visitors at the Butner Federal Correctional Facility since being admitted on Oct. 29.

Among the former Congressman's guests were Pastor Warren and Saddelback Church's Associate Pastor Anthony Miller.

"This is a private moment and we just want to love on him and pray with him," Warren said in a statement, according to the Chicago-Sun Times Voices blog.

An Atlanta attorney named C.K. Hoffler was reportedly facilitating Jackson's visits, and has said that Warren and Miller found the former Congressman in "good spirits all things considered."

"He continues to regret all of the pain, shame and embarrassment that he has caused his family, his constituents and his friends but has begun the process of repaying his debt to society," the Voices blog reported Hoffler as saying.

According to WLS-TV in Chicago, Pastor Warren added, "We believe in leaders and second chances."

**Leaders? And second chances for WHAT, Rick?

Matthew 20:25  But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them.
Mat 20:26  But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister;
Mat 20:27  And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:
Mat 20:28  Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

It was not known if Jackson and his representatives requested a visit from Pastor Warren, or whether the California megachurch pastor took it upon himself to make a trip to the federal correctional facility in North Carolina.

Jackson, son of civil rights activist and Baptist minister the Rev. Jesse Jackson, bought as many as 3,000 personal items with the $750,000 illegally taken from his campaign treasury. Among the many items the 48-year-old Democrat purchased between 2005 and 2012 were a Rolex watch, furs, vacations, furniture, and two mounted elk heads.

The Illinois politician from Chicago's South Side was expected to be released in Dec. 31, 2014, according to The Chicago Tribune. The paper also reports that Jackson's wife, Sandi Jackson, "a former Chicago alderman who was convicted on a related tax count, is to voluntarily surrender to the Bureau of Prisons to serve a 12-month sentence 30 days after her husband is a free man." While Mr. Jackson has paid back $200,000 so far, his wife was ordered to pay $22,000 in restitution.

Like we were discussing in another thread - Chuck Smith, via funding from the Illuminati, helped build this rotten foundation of megachurches, CCM/Christian Rock, Seeker Sensitive/Prosperity Gospel, etc many, many years ago. Pretty much Rick Warren, Bill Hybels, Brian McLaren, Mark Driscol and the Emergent Church are only putting the final nail in the coffin.

This isn't the first time Warren has attended events with CC.

The guy that did this expose, BTW, did a very thorough job. The new CC pastor(Brian Brodersen) has ties to the Emergent Church. And even some of these so-called "discernment" ministries that have ties to CC are working overtime to put damage control on all this(ie-they're claiming Warren was being some obnoxious "party crasher" when he attended Smith's funeral  Roll Eyes ).

This is David Rockefeller Jr, FYI...

Dunno - he and Warren may not look exactly the same, but nonetheless they look strikingly similar.

Pt being that alot of our US Presidents(and likely a lot of "influentials" on the world stage) are related to the 13 Illuminati Bloodlines(Rockefeller and Rothchilds being 2 of them). Wouldn't be surprising if Warren is one of them as well(as both he and the Rockefellers are CFR).

Pastor Rick Warren Announces Historic 2015 All Africa Purpose Driven Church Conference in Rwanda
Event to be first of five continent-wide gatherings by 2020

8/11/14

KIGALI, Rwanda, Aug. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California and best-selling author of The Purpose Driven Life, today announced at a press conference in Kigali, Rwanda, plans to host the All Africa Purpose Driven Church Congress August 6-10, 2015.

This historic and unprecedented gathering of pastors and church leaders from all 54 African nations, will be held in conjunction with Rwanda Shima Imana, a Day of Thanksgiving to celebrate reconciliation and gratitude on the anniversary of the Rwandan genocide. It will be the first of five annual continent-wide conferences to take place by 2020, with the second planned to be held in Latin America in 2016.

"I have been to Rwanda many times but this is by far my most important trip," said Warren. "This week I am bringing over 100 leaders from 30 African nations as well as Russia, China, India and the U.S. I want them to see what is happening in this country and to see the growth, development and progress that has been made in both this nation and its churches as we prepare for the 2015 gathering."

Warren explained how the idea for The PEACE Plan was birthed in 2003 while he was speaking in South Africa, but two years later following a call from His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, it became a reality as the country became the first Purpose Driven nation.

"I have been working with and watching the churches of Rwanda for nearly 10 years, and I believe now is the time for them to be a model to the world," Warren said. "It would be just like God to take a small nation like Rwanda on which the world turned its back 20 years ago in its greatest need and use it for God and for good."

Warren emphasized that as leadership training begins this week in Rwanda and continues in 2015 with the continent-wide gathering, it will emphasize reconciliation, with Rwandan leaders sharing their stories of forgiveness and healing following the 1994 genocide, which took the lives of 1 million Rwandans and left 1 million children orphaned over the course of 100 days.

"I believe the secret to Middle East peace is in Rwanda," said Warren. "World leaders should be studying Rwanda. This should be the model."

The 12 pastors who serve on the Rwanda PEACE Plan Board of Directors joined Warren for today's press conference along with eight of more than 25 leaders that serve as Master Trainers for PEACE.

"These men, whether you realize it or not, are world leaders," Warren said. "What they are doing with churches in Rwanda is being watched by churches all around the world."

The PEACE Plan works worldwide to Promote reconciliation, Equip servant leaders, Assist the poor, Care for the sick and Educate the next generation, through a massive effort to mobilize millions of Christians to combat the five global evil giants of spiritual emptiness, self-centered leadership, extreme poverty, pandemic disease and illiteracy/education. Since its founding, Saddleback has sent over 23,000 members to implement The PEACE Plan in all 197 nations of the world.

"Most nations are validated by their strength in exports; Rwanda can become famous for exporting leadership," Warren said. "Rwanda should be the leadership and innovation capital of the continent of Africa. That is why I am calling leaders from across the continent to come to Rwanda next year to learn. The strength of Rwanda is not in the ground; it's in the people."

Through The PEACE Plan in Rwanda, Saddleback Church has worked together with the public, private and faith sectors of the nation – what it calls the three-legged stool of churches, government and businesses – to help lower the poverty rate, empty orphanages, provide healthcare, train pastors and provide education.

"What makes The PEACE Plan unique is that it is done by local churches, in local churches, in the community," said Warren. "I could take you to 10 million villages around the world where the only thing there is the church. The church is the biggest organization on the planet and has most potential to do good if mobilized."

Over 3,200 pastors have completed a three-year intensive training in the purpose-driven PEACE Plan. These churches now offer everything from micro-savings clubs to preschools to programs training farmers how to double their crops on the same amount of land.

http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/rick-warren-and-the-purpose-driven-plan-to-destroy-the-church-of-jesus-christ/
RICK WARREN AND THE PURPOSE DRIVEN PLAN TO DESTROY THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST
The word "church" is often taken from the name of the church, and the church may be called a "campus". Denominational names may also be removed.

12/19/15

IN THE PAST TEN YEARS A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF CHURCHES IN AMERICA, AND IN OTHER COUNTRIES HAVE CHANGED FROM A TRADITIONAL NEW TESTAMENT CHURCH MODEL TO A CONTEMPORARY PURPOSE DRIVEN MODEL, MANY WITH SORROWFUL RESULTS

“To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,” Ephesians 3:10 (KJV)

Contrary to Purpose Driven Church propaganda, millions have been leaving their churches after the change occurred. It is important that every church member know if their church is targeted for a Purpose Driven Church takeover. Initially, a small clique of church staff, possibly including the pastor or a new pastor, plans the change without telling the rest of the church membership.

Church Transitions, an associate of Saddleback Church in California, trains the clique initiating the change in eight published steps. The church membership is not to be informed of the transition until the fourth step. After the sixth step in the process of change, if there are some in the church who voice concerns, the following is suggested:

Identify those who are resisting the changes;
Assess the effectiveness of their opposition;
Befriend those who are undecided about the changes;
Marginalize more persistent resisters;
Vilify those who stay and fight; and
Establish new rules that will silence all resistance.
This means the church membership is not told until it is too late to make a difference. In other words, the church is stolen. Then the members either accept the changes, or leave the church, which they may have served and given to build. Dr. Rick Warren, author of “The Purpose Driven Church” and “The Purpose Driven Life” has boasted: “When you reveal the vision to the church, the old pillars are going to leave. But let them leave… they only hold things up.”

THE PURPOSE DRIVEN DECEPTION – EXPOSING RICK WARREN’S NEW WORLD ORDER AGENDA

Rick Warren is right in one way. It is the senior members of the church who do indeed hold a church up and keep it from falling into apostasy. While some PDC initiators may not implement the full PDC format, generally, these are the signs that your church is targeted for a Purpose Driven Church format:

Change in music to a contemporary rock style.
Removal of hymn books; eliminating the choir.
Replacement of organ and piano with heavy metal instruments.
Repetitive singing of praise lyrics.
Dressing down to casual and informal attire.
Eliminating of business meetings, church committees, council of elders, board of deacons, etc.
The pastor, or a new leader with a few assistants, usually four, takes charge of all church business.
A repetitive 40-day Purpose Driven Church study program stressing psychological relationships with each other, the community, or the world, begins.
Funded budgeted programs are abandoned, or ignored, with ambiguous financial reports made.
Sunday morning, evening, and/or Wednesday prayer meetings are changed to other times; some may even be eliminated.
Sunday School teachers are moved to different classes, or replaced by new teachers more sympathetic with the changes being implemented.
The name “Sunday School” is dropped and classes are given new names.
Crosses and other traditional Christian symbols may be moved from both the inside and outside of the church buildings. The pulpit may also be removed.
In accordance with Dr. Warren’s instructions, new version Bibles are used; or only verses flashed on a screen are referenced during regular services.
Purpose Driven Church films, purchased from Saddleback, precede or are used during regular services.
The decor, including the carpets, may be changed to eliminate any resemblance to the former church.
The word “church” is often taken from the name of the church, and the church may be called a “campus”. Denominational names may also be removed.
An emphasis on more fun and party sessions for the youth.
Elimination of altar calls or salvation invitations at the close of the services.
The elimination of such words as “unsaved”, “lost”, “sin”, “Hell”, “Heaven” and other Gospel verities from the pastor’s messages.
The reclassification of the saved and lost to the “churched” and the “unchurched”.
The marginalizing, or ostracizing, of all who are not avid promoters of the new Purpose Driven Program.
Closed meetings between the pastor or chosen staff members without any reports made to the general membership.
Open hostility to members who do not openly embrace the new program, or who may have left for another church.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT:

If your church is in the initial stages of change (music or the first 40-day program), your church could be saved by talking with other church members, and with activist intervention by 10-20 percent of the membership. If nothing is done at this early stage, then by the time the program advances to step four, there is little that can be done except look for another church. Your church has been stolen and become a Purpose Driven entity in association with Saddleback Church of Orange County or Willow Creek of Chicago.

You must educate yourself, and others, so that you can mobilize the membership to effectively resist. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” 2 Timothy 1:7.

The Purpose Driven Church books and most of the programs are published by Rupert Murdoch, who owns 175 newspapers worldwide, and a large percentage of the television and communications industry. He also owns several magazines, some of which have been classified as pornographic.

Billions of dollars pour into the Purpose Driven Church movement. Dr. Warren has stated he intends to send one billion Christians into the world to bring in the “Kingdom of Heaven”. The entire movement appears cultish. Don’t be fooled by the Saddleback Website. You don’t catch many fish unless you have a look-alike bait!
