UFO expert found dead days after texting mum: 'Your boy's in trouble - if anything happens to me, investigate'

A conspiracy theorist texted his mum to say 'If anything happens to me, investigate' just days before his mysterious death.

Max Spiers, 39, a father to two boys, was found dead on a sofa in Poland, where he had gone to give a talk about conspiracy theories and UFOs.

He was ruled to have died from natural causes despite no post-mortem examination being carried out on his body.

But his dark investigations into UFOs and government cover-ups may have made him enemies who wanted him dead, says mother Vanessa Bates, 63.

In a chilling text message to his mum just days before his death, Max wrote: "Your boy's in trouble. If anything happens to me, investigate."

Originally from Canterbury, Max lived in America for a few years, but had returned to the city to stay with his mother, before jetting off to Poland.

Vanessa said: "He was making a name for himself in the world of conspiracy theorists and had been invited to speak at a conference in Poland in July.

"He was staying with a woman who he had not known for long and she told me how she found him dead on the sofa.

"But I think Max had been digging in some dark places and I fear that somebody wanted him dead."

Max made a career out of investigating UFO sightings and alleged cover-ups.

More recently, he was said to be probing into the lives of well-known figures in politics, business and entertainment.

His unexplained death, and its subsequent treatment by the authorities, has left many online followers convinced he was killed by government agents

Conspiracy theorists have long been convinced that UFO chasers who get too close to the truth are "bumped off" by the secret services or so-called men in black.

On one website, Project Camelot, a blogger wrote: "The entire circumstances are suspicious and I urge everyone to encourage the release of details about what really happened and call for an autopsy."

Another, Craig Hewlett, added: "If it wasn't true what he talks about then why would they kill him? Healthy people don't just get sick and die, they get poisoned ."

Mum Vanessa, an English teacher, also buys into the theories.

She said: "Max was a very fit man who was in good health and yet he apparently just died suddenly on a sofa.

"All I have is a death certificate from the Polish authorities that it was from natural causes, but no post-mortem was done so how can they tell that?

"They are also refusing to release any paperwork about it to me because, absurdly, I don't have his written permission."

Max was buried in Canterbury cemetery after his mother arranged to have his body flown home a week after his death.

A post-mortem examination was carried out by a pathologist in east Kent, but Vanessa says that more than two months later she still does not know the result, or whether there will be an inquest.

She added: "Apparently, he had not suffered any obvious physical injuries but he could have been slowly poisoned, which is why the results of toxicology tests from his post-mortem are so important.

"He has a brother, Josh, and sister, Becky, who are both devastated, as are his two boys. We all want answers to this and I will continue to fight to get to the truth."

The North East Kent coroner's office would only confirm the death was at the "very early" stages of investigation.

British UFO Expert Vomited TWO LITERS of Black Liquid Before Mysteriously Dying

The British UFO expert Max Spiers, who was found dead in Poland last June after attempting to unearth government “secrets”, vomited two liters of a mystery black ooze before collapsing, a British inquest has revealed.

Only days before his death, Spiers had sent a text message to his mother, Vanessa Bates, warning her that her “boy” was “in trouble”.

“If anything happens, investigate,” the message read.

Spiers, a 39 year-old father of two, was visiting Warsaw in July to speak at a conference about conspiracy theory and UFOs, when he was found dead on the sofa of a friend’s house.

Polish police initially attributed his death to natural causes, despite not carrying out a post-mortem examination on his body — a verdict met with suspicion by his family and followers.

“Max was a very fit man who was in good health and yet he apparently just died suddenly on a sofa” his mother told the Mirror.

She also said that Polish authorities would not release any paperwork to her about the autopsy unless she provided her late son’s written permission.

On the website Project Camelot, one blogger wrote after Spiers’ death: “The entire circumstances are suspicious and I urge everyone to encourage the release of details about what really happened and call for an autopsy.”

Ms. Bates arranged for her son’s body to be flown back to the UK, where an autopsy was finally carried at a hospital Margate Hospital, Kent. But investigators could not determine how he had died.

An inquest into the cause of his death opened in Canterbury coroner’s court on Monday.

In a statement to the Kentish Gazette, the coroner’s investigations officer Caroline O’Donnell said that Spiers had fallen ill after returning from a holiday with a friend in Cyprus.

“When they returned, Mr Spiers became ill with a high temperature and was weak,” she said. The following day, he reportedly vomited two liters of black fluid.

“The friend called a doctor who attempted resuscitation before pronouncing him dead” the officer added.

Spiers lived in the United States for a few years, but had returned to Canterbury to stay with his mother before leaving for Poland. In a recent interview, Vanessa Bates said her son had been investigating some “dark” things, increasingly probing into the lives of famous political, entertainment and business figures.

Coroner Alan Blunsdon told the court that he hoped to have Mr. Spiers’ laptop and mobile phone analyzed. by a forensic team.

The inquest continues.

UFO enthusiast mysteriously vanishes leaving behind a den filled with secret codes, 14 encrypted books and a statue of 16th Century philosopher who predicted aliens' existence

Bruno Borges, 24, disappeared from his home in Rio Branco in the west of Brazil
He has spent the past month working on a special alien project, his sister said
Psychology student locked himself in his room for hours on end on the project
He covered his walls in code and produced 14 encrypted manuscripts on space

A UFO enthusiast who mysteriously vanished last week left behind a den plastered wall-to-wall with Illuminati codes and symbols.

Bruno Borges, 24, disappeared from his home in Rio Branco in the west of Brazil having spent the past month working on what is being described as a secret project.

In his furniture-free bedroom, police found a £2,000 statue of 16th-century philosopher Giordano Bruno who predicted alien life, 14 encrypted books and signs associated with the Illuminati spread across the floor.

He has not been seen since March 27, and his father told local press he was last seen in a t-shirt and a pair of shorts and would have had no money nor documents.

Deputy Fabrizzio Sobreira, coordinator of the Criminal Investigation Office (DIC), who is leading the investigations, confirmed to the newspaper Acre TV all possibilities are being considered amid speculation he was abducted by the aliens he obsesses over.

His father, local businessman Athos Borges, told Globo: 'We've tried to call him on his cell phone, but he's off, he's never gone before, he did not take anything and the last time we saw him he was leaving home.'

The psychology student went missing shortly after his parents returned from a month-long trip, during which he stayed at home with his sister furiously beavering away at his project.

When his parents left, his bedroom was said to be normal, but 25 days later they were covered in coded writing and symbols as well as 14 secret manuscripts, each with a different Roman numeral on the cover.

His sister, Gabriella, said he would lock himself in the den for hours on end and told Gaucho newspaper: 'We were very worried. Now we think he's okay. He has a project, which is the publication of these 14 books. I think he had to do it that way.'

British UFO hunter's laptop was 'wiped' after mysterious death

The laptop of a British UFO hunter was reportedly ‘wiped clean’ before being handed back to his family after he mysteriously died.

The sudden death of Max Spiers, 39, has been shrouded in mystery after a friend discovered his body while he was on a trip to Poland to visit a conference.

In December 2016, the court heard the conspiracy theorist vomited two litres of black blood before he died, but the inquest was adjourned.

The dad-of-two, had allegedly made many ‘enemies’ in his investigations.

His inquest will now be held over four days from January 7, next year.

Authorities in Poland, where Mr Spiers was attending a conference, initially concluded the sudden death was due to natural causes.

A message from his phone sent to his mother Vanessa Bates before he died warned ‘your boy’s in trouble, if anything happens to me, investigate’.

At the pre-inquest review yesterday at the Guildhall in Sandwich, Kent, the court heard the barrister for Max’s mother, Adam Taylor, call for members of the Polish emergency services to appear as witnesses.

Sections from a 700-page docket of statements and evidence assembled will be translated from Polish for next year’s inquest.

Possible evidence over whether disciplinary proceedings were brought against police officers in Poland over Mr Spiers’s death should also be heard.

Analysis of a laptop and a mobile phone that belonged to the father-of-two should also be presented at the inquest, the court heard.

Mr Taylor said: ‘The way in which they were returned and what was done to them is clearly one of the big mysteries.

‘The family has no knowledge whatsoever of what the results of that analysis were.

‘Mr Bates’ laptop was wiped and, of course, it was not empty at the time of Max’s death. The issue is the Sim card and what was on it. Without sight of the report the family has no answer to these questions.’

There were also a ‘number of discrepancies’ in emergency services accounts about Max’s death, the court heard.

Monika Duvall, a friend who Mr Bates had reportedly been living with, was also asked to attend the inquest.

Speaking afterwards, Vanessa said: ‘Today felt very positive. It’s just over two years now. I did not expect him to go to Poland and not come back.

‘We’ve got hundreds of pages we are working our way through which are all in Polish.

‘It’s been difficult but gradually we’ve worked our way through. There certainly was some mention of that from the Polish side.

‘We’ve still got stuff that are not translated and I think when we get to the inquest we will know more about whether police procedures were or were not followed.

‘I think it is going to be very difficult to get the Polish witnesses over here.

‘He should be here. He was very fit and healthy when I said goodbye to him. Everything that we have in terms of health records before he went were that he was in great health. This was an enormous blow. I miss him dreadfully.’

After Mr Spiers’s body was repatriated to the UK, doctors at a Margate hospital were unable to determine the cause of his death.

Kent Police then launched a joint investigation with Polish police into the conspiracy theorist’s death.

At an inquest opening in Canterbury in December 2016, the court heard how the 39-year-old had been visiting Poland to speak at a conference after holidaying with a friend in Cyprus.

Shortly before his death, Mr Spiers was said to have been probing into the lives of well-known figures in politics, business and entertainment.

At the time his mum Vanessa said she feared the worst.

She said: ‘I think Max had been digging in some dark places and somebody wanted him dead.’

She is hopeful the investigation will shed light on the mysterious death. She added: ‘It’s been a long time coming, but I’m just relieved that at last something is happening and there is a proper investigation and inquest.’

Her theory was shared by many online, with other conspiracy theorists, UFO investigators and bloggers calling the circumstances of Mr Spiers’ death suspicious.

At the time, Coroner Alan Blunsdon told the court he was still awaiting a report from Polish authorities, adding that the workload of Kent Police may delay forensic analysis of Mr Spiers’ phone and computer.

Coroner Christopher Sutton Mattocks said the four-day inquest will be heard at the Archbishops Palace in Maidstone.

He said: ‘It is extremely important that when we start everybody is completely ready for this and we have all the information available.’
