It states: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

In interview with Observer Former British PM discusses his intriguing reading habits and why he now has better understanding of Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Ynet Published:  06.13.11, 15:12 / Israel News

In an interview published in Britain's Observer Sunday, former Prime Minister Tony Blair tried to explain why he reads the Quran on a daily basis. The politician who became the Quartet's envoy to the Middle East said that he also reads the Bible.

He said he reads them "partly to understand some of the things happening in the world, but mainly just because it is immensely instructive".

He said that he visits the region frequently and that to him the "most fascinating thing is learning about the places where I work". He used the Israel-Palestinian situation as an example: "My understanding is significant layers deeper and better than it was when I was prime minister."

Meanwhile, Britain's Daily Mail published thinly-veiled criticism of Tony Blair over his claims that when he was still in Downing Street he avoided addressing religious issues and is re-discovering religion. Blair converted to Catholicism a few months after he left Downing Street in 2007.

The Daily Mail goes on to note that Blair has praised Islam in the past but was exposed to its militant aspects when serving as prime minister when suicide bombers blew themselves up in central London in July of 2005, killing 52 people.

If Blair wishes to deepen his knowledge of Islam he can always turn to his sister in law Lauren Booth who converted to Islam after visiting Iran. Though he may not receive a warm welcome – she has led a call to try Blair for war crimes for his part in the Iraq war. She is also a known supporter of the Palestinian cause.

we all know there will be a One World Religion, , the emergent church movement is well under way. Thought this was an interesting bit of news.

London:  Former British prime minister Tony Blair has become "increasingly open" about the importance of religion, and reads the Quran every day to be "faith-literate".

Blair, who reportedly said he was not interested in religion, converted to Catholicism after leaving No.10 Downing Street in 2007.

The former Labour Party leader now says reading the Islamic holy book ensured he remained "faith-literate", reports the Daily Mail.

"To be faith-literate is crucial in a globalised world, I believe. I read the Quran every day. Partly to understand some of the things happening in the world, but mainly just because it is immensely instructive," he said.

"To be faith-literate is crucial in a globalised world, I believe. I read the Quran every day. Partly to understand some of the things happening in the world, but mainly just because it is immensely instructive," he said.

Blair said a knowledge of the faith was important for his role as an envoy for the Quartet of the UN, US, European Union and Russia.

Blair earlier reportedly praised the Muslim faith as "beautiful". He said Prophet Mohammed had been "an enormously civilising force".

The former prime minister said the Quran was a "reforming book, it is inclusive. It extols science and knowledge and abhors superstition. It is practical and way ahead of its time in attitudes to marriage, women and governance".

Guess Mr Blair can't make up his mind, maybe he is testing the waters to see if the masses accept his stance.

Tony Blair’s Nightmare Vision Of A European Superstate

Tony Blair’s interview in yesterday’s Times deserves to be widely read on both sides of the Atlantic. Why? Because it shows that the Eurofederalists’ delusions of grandeur are firmly alive and remain a huge threat not only to British national sovereignty but the future of the transatlantic alliance, especially the Special Relationship. It is also a further demonstration of just how far removed Tony Blair is from political reality and public opinion in the UK, but that’s never stopped him before. Blair has always been a European idealist at heart, even though he found out the hard way during the Iraq War that you can’t be both America’s best friend and ally and cosy up to Brussels at the same time.

“In a world in particular in which China is going to become the dominant power of the 21st century, it is sensible for Europe to combine together, to use its collective weight in order to achieve influence. And the rationale for Europe today therefore is about power, not peace.”
