Mark, did you say you saw the movie "Book of Eli"? If memory serves, when it came out early in 2010, you gave a short review on it on the previous message forum (before we moved to this one several months later that year).

Anyhow, ended up seeing it last night, b/c I remember you told me about the ending in your review then. Just to sum it up, it was in a "post-apocalyptic" world, and Denzel Washington played some kind of prophet in that era who had his hands on the only copy of the bible, and the dark forces coveted it. When all was said and done, he said it was a King James Bible. However that LAST SCENE showed the book publisher putting that finished copy (which Washington had him hand write every word and verse that he told him to write from Gen to Rev) was a NEW King James Bible (and that scene was in your face!).

Yeah, even Hollywood found a way to push the New Age Bible Versions!

CBS Launches New Show Comedy 'Living Biblically' To Mock Christianity And Make Christians Look Like Idiots

It seems with every new television season a show that mocks Jesus Christ and the Christian faith gets a pilot.

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” 2 Peter 3:3,4 (KJV)

On a regular basis, television studios in Hollywood release pilots that either glorify the Devil, as in the show Lucifer, or mock and belittle Christians and the Bible like we see in this new show, Living Biblically, just released by CBS on February 26, 2018. And of course, the “christian” in the show who goes on a quest to ‘live biblically’ is a New Age, ecumenical, embracing all religions mashup cartoon-like character who is hyper-judgmental and attempts to enact Old Testament justice.

What you do not see in this show, and will not see in this piece of trash, is salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins as the only way to Heaven. But if you read all the way through to the end, we will be happy to show that to you.

This season it is the CBS show ‘Living Biblically’ – a comedic take on the real life quest of a journalist to live his life “according to the Bible” for one year. From the preview scenes alone, it seems obvious that this show has no intention of representing the Bible accurately or bringing any actual serious discussion about the Christian faith. Instead it seeks cheap laughs and gags all the while mocking The Lord Jesus Christ and those who try their best to follow Him.

“Chip Curry is a modern day man at a crossroads in his life, who decides to live strictly in accordance with the Bible. A film critic for a New York Newspaper and a soon-to-be father, Chip wants to be a better man following the loss of his best friend. He decides to put his slightly obsessive temperament to use and start living his life 100% by the Bible to find direction. His smart, pregnant wife, Leslie, while both skeptical and entertained by her husband’s new passion, supports him completely. Knowing he’ll need some practical advice, Chip forms a “God Squad” with Father Gene, a Catholic Priest who helps Chip translate the rules of the Bible to a modern world; and Father Gene’s best friend, easygoing Rabbi Gil Ableman, who respects Chip’s chutzpah and is glad to serve as a sounding board when they meet at their local bar.

At Chip’s newspaper, he finds support from his no-nonsense boss, Ms. Meadows, who knows Chip’s self-penned story will sell newspapers, and his co-worker and friend, Vince, who is quick with a reality check and likes to wind Chip up for his own amusement. As he begins his sincere spiritual journey toward a more moral life with the help of his wife and friends, Chip wonders if he’ll be able to take a page – or every page – out of the Good Book, and if the effect will be of Biblical proportions.” (source).

From the preview clips alone, the show seems intent on turning the lead character Chip into a walking, breathing negative Christian stereotype. He is judgmental, hyper-critical and even violent, because “the Bible says so.” This attempt to highlight the view of the Old Testament revealing a God who is harsh, violent and lacking compassion is a common argument for critics of the Christian faith.  Living Biblically seeks to make this argument in a more subversive manner by having its lead act out these negative traits all in the name of seeking to live a righteous, holy “Biblical lifestyle.”

When Chip seeks counsel from a Roman Catholic priest and tells him of his plan, the priest laughs in his face – clearly mocking the fact that anyone would take the Bible literally.

“People need to start talking about religion again,” producer Patrick Walsh said. “I don’t buy the idea that we live in a ‘godless society.’ Eighty-four percent of the world aligns themselves with religion, and 9 out of 10 people believe in God, yet religion is never discussed because everyone is too scared to offend. In talking about it, you can erase so many misconceptions about it on either side.” source
Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven and to have forgiveness of your sin debt, every other way is 100% wrong

The anti-Christian clowns in Hollywood will never, ever give you the truth about the Bible, salvation or Jesus Christ. But we here at NTEB exist to do just that. Want to know how to become born again, and have a home in Heaven? Here it is, share it with a friend.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9 (KJV)

Our sins have separated us from a righteous and holy God, but in His Mercy and love towards us He has made a way of escape for all those who seek it. I am talking to you, right here and right now. God has an AMAZING gift for you, it costs you nothing but it caused Him to shed every drop of blood He had so He could purchase it for you. What is it? It’s your salvation.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” Romans 5: 8-10 (KJV)
There is a penalty for your sins – eternal torment in a place called Hell

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 6:23 (KJV)

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
Jesus Christ is God’s Provision for Your Sinful Condition.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 (KJV)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16 (KJV)

You Can Be Saved–Right Now. Every Saturday afternoon we go out on the streets in the town where we live, and we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Just today, a young man named John stopped to listen. We presented him with the exact same gospel that you are reading right now, and asked him if he knew he was a sinner. He was very honest, he said “yes, I do”. We told him that salvation is not a “magic bullet”, a “get out of jail free card”, or some “30 second prayer” someone gets you to pray. Salvation is a legally-binding transaction, as the Bible declares, when you the sinner take your sins to a sinless Saviour – Jesus Christ – and you trade your sins for His Righteousness.

Jesus Christ was crucified, died, was buried and rose again on the THIRD DAY according to the Scriptures. He did all that for YOU, to buy your pardon to SET YOU FREE. All you have to do is accept or reject that FREE GIFT. If you reject it, when you die, you will burn forever in a place called Hell. If you accept it, the Bible says the moment you die you will be with Christ in Heaven never to die again. Which one do YOU want?

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

Pray and ask the Lord, “Lord Jesus, be merciful to me a sinner, and save me. I now, with a repentant heart, receive you as my personal Saviour”.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13 (KJV)

New CBS Sitcom 'Living Biblically' Decried as 'Hollywood Mockery of Christians'

Despite its producers stated intentions not to be offensive, but to bring religion into primetime television, a blasphemous new sitcom on CBS called “Living Biblically” is being decried as a “Hollywood mockery of Christians” and in need of prayer itself.

The show is based on the book “The Year of Living Biblically,” written by A.J. Jacobs, an agnostic Jew who makes fun of certain parts of the Torah that he finds odd and concludes that “fundamentalists may claim to take the Bible literally, but they actually just pick and choose certain rules to follow.”

Producer Patrick Walsh told Fox News earlier this month that he met with Jacobs, who advised that he wanted to create a comedy show about religion. He expressed enthusiasm about the result: a story about a man who loses his best friend and learns his wife is having a baby, sparking the desire to try to be a “better man” and live by what he reads in the Bible.

He regularly meets with a Roman Catholic priest and a rabbi, referred to as the “God squad,” in a local bar to receive direction.

“That was the intent, to do a show that was not preachy and off-putting to people who do not practice religion, but also very respectful and welcoming to those that do,” Walsh explained. “A big part of my pitch was that 84 percent of the world aligns itself with religion, and yet there’s nothing on television for people of faith.”

“The only times you hear it mentioned is things like Bill Maher, which is extremely critical, and the other end of the spectrum are movies like ‘God’s Not Dead’ and ‘Left Behind,’ which are successful, but I think they’re so pious and solemn that they’re off-putting to a general audience,” he opined. “They’re usually just successful amongst religious people.”

However, in the broadcast, after the main character, Chip Curry, advises his wife that he wants to do a “soul cleanse” until their baby arrives, she exclaims, “I’m not throwing out my rap albums. You know how much I love my filthy, filthy sex rap.”

When he tells his wife, an atheist, that it’s important to have faith, she asks why God made super gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted disease. Moments later, Curry tells his wife that if his quest goes beyond the nine months, according to the Bible, he cannot touch her while she is menstruating and that if she gets “crabby,” he has to go live in the desert.

“You know, it’s just Bible stuff,” Curry says.

A laugh track follows.

The show also proceeds to make a mockery of Curry’s knowledge that an acquaintance is committing adultery, as he proceeds to throw a rock at the man’s head and runs away to avoid being arrested. Curry also believes that the Bible says not to wear mixed fabrics of any kind.

Visiting the confessional, he tells the priest about his accomplishments, and receives the admonition, “Go to church and be good. It’s enough.” When asked if he has anything to confess, Curry states that he swears a lot. The priest then provides several substitute curse words that Curry can use, but notes that it is “incredibly unsatisfying” to say them instead.

“If CBS were honest, the series would more accurately be titled ‘Living Blasphemously,’ as it is simply more Hollywood mockery of Christians, God’s word and the Lord Jesus Christ,” writes Joe Schimmel, pastor of Blessed Hope Chapel in Simi Valley, California and host of the documentary “Hollywood’s War on God.”

“The script for Living Biblically reads like it has been written by your typical, cynical, atheistic, internet trolls, as the story lines feed into almost every stereotypical caricature of Christianity that we find on the World Wide Web,” he said.

Schimmel said that the heart of the sitcom is contrary to the message of the gospel and does not point men to Christ. The Bible says that all men are utterly incapable on their own of walking in righteousness as their nature is inherently bent toward sin (Rom. 3:9-19; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 6:6; Eph. 2:3), and therefore, they must be born again—regenerated from death to life—through the work of the Holy Spirit, putting their trust in Christ alone for salvation (John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; Col. 1:13; Titus 3:5).

“The show’s premise could not be more antithetical to the heart of the biblical message of salvation by grace through faith in Christ,” Schimmel lamented. “Chip’s conversion is not based on a confession before God that he is a sinner and embracing Jesus as Lord and Savior, but rather on a vain confession before the Catholic priest that he is actually ‘a good man’ and wants to live by the Bible.”

He said that the show reminds him of when he, too, once mocked the Scriptures.

“Prior to coming to Christ, I too mocked the Christian faith, until the Lord graciously unmasked the powers of darkness that were blinding me to Jesus,” Schimmel outlined. “We are called to remember that we, too, were once blind and lost before coming to Jesus, before experiencing His amazing grace.”

“Sadly, the wicked spend an awful lot of time undermining the gospel, perverting His word, and blaspheming His holy name! May the Lord Jesus give us grace to spend even more time sharing His great love and glorious gospel with a lost and dying world,” he declared.

Schimmel pointed to Titus 3, which reads, “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost, which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Oscars Introduce Prestigious New ‘Most Tolerable Christian Movie’ Award

At the upcoming 90th Academy Awards ceremony Sunday night, the Oscar award for “Most Tolerable Christian Movie” will be handed out for the first time, sources confirmed.

Academy members reportedly sat through hours of grueling Christian films in an effort to select the one that was the least offensive in terms of quality, production value, writing, and acting.

“It was a very competitive year. There were several Christian movies that were just barely passable,” a source at the Academy revealed. “But we had to narrow it down to just the top few with plot, dialogue, and pacing that completely shattered the bounds of what is bearable cinema.”

“I can’t reveal the winner just yet, but we think we’ve selected a very deserving film that most of us were just barely able to sit through,” the source added
