Mark, did you say you saw the movie "Book of Eli"? If memory serves, when it came out early in 2010, you gave a short review on it on the previous message forum (before we moved to this one several months later that year).

Anyhow, ended up seeing it last night, b/c I remember you told me about the ending in your review then. Just to sum it up, it was in a "post-apocalyptic" world, and Denzel Washington played some kind of prophet in that era who had his hands on the only copy of the bible, and the dark forces coveted it. When all was said and done, he said it was a King James Bible. However that LAST SCENE showed the book publisher putting that finished copy (which Washington had him hand write every word and verse that he told him to write from Gen to Rev) was a NEW King James Bible (and that scene was in your face!).

Yeah, even Hollywood found a way to push the New Age Bible Versions!

CBS Launches New Show Comedy 'Living Biblically' To Mock Christianity And Make Christians Look Like Idiots

It seems with every new television season a show that mocks Jesus Christ and the Christian faith gets a pilot.

“Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” 2 Peter 3:3,4 (KJV)

On a regular basis, television studios in Hollywood release pilots that either glorify the Devil, as in the show Lucifer, or mock and belittle Christians and the Bible like we see in this new show, Living Biblically, just released by CBS on February 26, 2018. And of course, the “christian” in the show who goes on a quest to ‘live biblically’ is a New Age, ecumenical, embracing all religions mashup cartoon-like character who is hyper-judgmental and attempts to enact Old Testament justice.

What you do not see in this show, and will not see in this piece of trash, is salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins as the only way to Heaven. But if you read all the way through to the end, we will be happy to show that to you.

This season it is the CBS show ‘Living Biblically’ – a comedic take on the real life quest of a journalist to live his life “according to the Bible” for one year. From the preview scenes alone, it seems obvious that this show has no intention of representing the Bible accurately or bringing any actual serious discussion about the Christian faith. Instead it seeks cheap laughs and gags all the while mocking The Lord Jesus Christ and those who try their best to follow Him.

“Chip Curry is a modern day man at a crossroads in his life, who decides to live strictly in accordance with the Bible. A film critic for a New York Newspaper and a soon-to-be father, Chip wants to be a better man following the loss of his best friend. He decides to put his slightly obsessive temperament to use and start living his life 100% by the Bible to find direction. His smart, pregnant wife, Leslie, while both skeptical and entertained by her husband’s new passion, supports him completely. Knowing he’ll need some practical advice, Chip forms a “God Squad” with Father Gene, a Catholic Priest who helps Chip translate the rules of the Bible to a modern world; and Father Gene’s best friend, easygoing Rabbi Gil Ableman, who respects Chip’s chutzpah and is glad to serve as a sounding board when they meet at their local bar.

At Chip’s newspaper, he finds support from his no-nonsense boss, Ms. Meadows, who knows Chip’s self-penned story will sell newspapers, and his co-worker and friend, Vince, who is quick with a reality check and likes to wind Chip up for his own amusement. As he begins his sincere spiritual journey toward a more moral life with the help of his wife and friends, Chip wonders if he’ll be able to take a page – or every page – out of the Good Book, and if the effect will be of Biblical proportions.” (source).

From the preview clips alone, the show seems intent on turning the lead character Chip into a walking, breathing negative Christian stereotype. He is judgmental, hyper-critical and even violent, because “the Bible says so.” This attempt to highlight the view of the Old Testament revealing a God who is harsh, violent and lacking compassion is a common argument for critics of the Christian faith.  Living Biblically seeks to make this argument in a more subversive manner by having its lead act out these negative traits all in the name of seeking to live a righteous, holy “Biblical lifestyle.”

When Chip seeks counsel from a Roman Catholic priest and tells him of his plan, the priest laughs in his face – clearly mocking the fact that anyone would take the Bible literally.

“People need to start talking about religion again,” producer Patrick Walsh said. “I don’t buy the idea that we live in a ‘godless society.’ Eighty-four percent of the world aligns themselves with religion, and 9 out of 10 people believe in God, yet religion is never discussed because everyone is too scared to offend. In talking about it, you can erase so many misconceptions about it on either side.” source
Jesus Christ is the only way to Heaven and to have forgiveness of your sin debt, every other way is 100% wrong

The anti-Christian clowns in Hollywood will never, ever give you the truth about the Bible, salvation or Jesus Christ. But we here at NTEB exist to do just that. Want to know how to become born again, and have a home in Heaven? Here it is, share it with a friend.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9 (KJV)

Our sins have separated us from a righteous and holy God, but in His Mercy and love towards us He has made a way of escape for all those who seek it. I am talking to you, right here and right now. God has an AMAZING gift for you, it costs you nothing but it caused Him to shed every drop of blood He had so He could purchase it for you. What is it? It’s your salvation.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” Romans 5: 8-10 (KJV)
There is a penalty for your sins – eternal torment in a place called Hell

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” Romans 6:23 (KJV)

“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
Jesus Christ is God’s Provision for Your Sinful Condition.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 (KJV)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16 (KJV)

You Can Be Saved–Right Now. Every Saturday afternoon we go out on the streets in the town where we live, and we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Just today, a young man named John stopped to listen. We presented him with the exact same gospel that you are reading right now, and asked him if he knew he was a sinner. He was very honest, he said “yes, I do”. We told him that salvation is not a “magic bullet”, a “get out of jail free card”, or some “30 second prayer” someone gets you to pray. Salvation is a legally-binding transaction, as the Bible declares, when you the sinner take your sins to a sinless Saviour – Jesus Christ – and you trade your sins for His Righteousness.

Jesus Christ was crucified, died, was buried and rose again on the THIRD DAY according to the Scriptures. He did all that for YOU, to buy your pardon to SET YOU FREE. All you have to do is accept or reject that FREE GIFT. If you reject it, when you die, you will burn forever in a place called Hell. If you accept it, the Bible says the moment you die you will be with Christ in Heaven never to die again. Which one do YOU want?

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

Pray and ask the Lord, “Lord Jesus, be merciful to me a sinner, and save me. I now, with a repentant heart, receive you as my personal Saviour”.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13 (KJV)

New CBS Sitcom 'Living Biblically' Decried as 'Hollywood Mockery of Christians'

Despite its producers stated intentions not to be offensive, but to bring religion into primetime television, a blasphemous new sitcom on CBS called “Living Biblically” is being decried as a “Hollywood mockery of Christians” and in need of prayer itself.

The show is based on the book “The Year of Living Biblically,” written by A.J. Jacobs, an agnostic Jew who makes fun of certain parts of the Torah that he finds odd and concludes that “fundamentalists may claim to take the Bible literally, but they actually just pick and choose certain rules to follow.”

Producer Patrick Walsh told Fox News earlier this month that he met with Jacobs, who advised that he wanted to create a comedy show about religion. He expressed enthusiasm about the result: a story about a man who loses his best friend and learns his wife is having a baby, sparking the desire to try to be a “better man” and live by what he reads in the Bible.

He regularly meets with a Roman Catholic priest and a rabbi, referred to as the “God squad,” in a local bar to receive direction.

“That was the intent, to do a show that was not preachy and off-putting to people who do not practice religion, but also very respectful and welcoming to those that do,” Walsh explained. “A big part of my pitch was that 84 percent of the world aligns itself with religion, and yet there’s nothing on television for people of faith.”

“The only times you hear it mentioned is things like Bill Maher, which is extremely critical, and the other end of the spectrum are movies like ‘God’s Not Dead’ and ‘Left Behind,’ which are successful, but I think they’re so pious and solemn that they’re off-putting to a general audience,” he opined. “They’re usually just successful amongst religious people.”

However, in the broadcast, after the main character, Chip Curry, advises his wife that he wants to do a “soul cleanse” until their baby arrives, she exclaims, “I’m not throwing out my rap albums. You know how much I love my filthy, filthy sex rap.”

When he tells his wife, an atheist, that it’s important to have faith, she asks why God made super gonorrhea, a sexually transmitted disease. Moments later, Curry tells his wife that if his quest goes beyond the nine months, according to the Bible, he cannot touch her while she is menstruating and that if she gets “crabby,” he has to go live in the desert.

“You know, it’s just Bible stuff,” Curry says.

A laugh track follows.

The show also proceeds to make a mockery of Curry’s knowledge that an acquaintance is committing adultery, as he proceeds to throw a rock at the man’s head and runs away to avoid being arrested. Curry also believes that the Bible says not to wear mixed fabrics of any kind.

Visiting the confessional, he tells the priest about his accomplishments, and receives the admonition, “Go to church and be good. It’s enough.” When asked if he has anything to confess, Curry states that he swears a lot. The priest then provides several substitute curse words that Curry can use, but notes that it is “incredibly unsatisfying” to say them instead.

“If CBS were honest, the series would more accurately be titled ‘Living Blasphemously,’ as it is simply more Hollywood mockery of Christians, God’s word and the Lord Jesus Christ,” writes Joe Schimmel, pastor of Blessed Hope Chapel in Simi Valley, California and host of the documentary “Hollywood’s War on God.”

“The script for Living Biblically reads like it has been written by your typical, cynical, atheistic, internet trolls, as the story lines feed into almost every stereotypical caricature of Christianity that we find on the World Wide Web,” he said.

Schimmel said that the heart of the sitcom is contrary to the message of the gospel and does not point men to Christ. The Bible says that all men are utterly incapable on their own of walking in righteousness as their nature is inherently bent toward sin (Rom. 3:9-19; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 6:6; Eph. 2:3), and therefore, they must be born again—regenerated from death to life—through the work of the Holy Spirit, putting their trust in Christ alone for salvation (John 3:3; 2 Cor. 5:17; Col. 1:13; Titus 3:5).

“The show’s premise could not be more antithetical to the heart of the biblical message of salvation by grace through faith in Christ,” Schimmel lamented. “Chip’s conversion is not based on a confession before God that he is a sinner and embracing Jesus as Lord and Savior, but rather on a vain confession before the Catholic priest that he is actually ‘a good man’ and wants to live by the Bible.”

He said that the show reminds him of when he, too, once mocked the Scriptures.

“Prior to coming to Christ, I too mocked the Christian faith, until the Lord graciously unmasked the powers of darkness that were blinding me to Jesus,” Schimmel outlined. “We are called to remember that we, too, were once blind and lost before coming to Jesus, before experiencing His amazing grace.”

“Sadly, the wicked spend an awful lot of time undermining the gospel, perverting His word, and blaspheming His holy name! May the Lord Jesus give us grace to spend even more time sharing His great love and glorious gospel with a lost and dying world,” he declared.

Schimmel pointed to Titus 3, which reads, “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost, which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by His grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”

Oscars Introduce Prestigious New ‘Most Tolerable Christian Movie’ Award

At the upcoming 90th Academy Awards ceremony Sunday night, the Oscar award for “Most Tolerable Christian Movie” will be handed out for the first time, sources confirmed.

Academy members reportedly sat through hours of grueling Christian films in an effort to select the one that was the least offensive in terms of quality, production value, writing, and acting.

“It was a very competitive year. There were several Christian movies that were just barely passable,” a source at the Academy revealed. “But we had to narrow it down to just the top few with plot, dialogue, and pacing that completely shattered the bounds of what is bearable cinema.”

“I can’t reveal the winner just yet, but we think we’ve selected a very deserving film that most of us were just barely able to sit through,” the source added

'Hollywood's god Is Not the God of the Bible,' Pastor Shane Idleman Argues

Alyssa Milano recently used Scripture to justify her support of abortion. On April 1st, she tweeted “I love God. I believe in God. But I don’t believe my personal beliefs of which we can’t confirm should override scientific facts and what we can confirm.” She included a quote from the book of John: “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things? (John 3:12).”

Unfortunately, misrepresentation of the Bible is common among the media and other groups who want to conform scripture to support opinions, when, in fact, moral values are designed to conform to scriptural truths. Personal opinions vary—truth does not. Watch these two short clips from Fox News this week where I discussed these topics: Abortion, God, and Hollywood and Were We Ever Really a Christian Nation?

Our culture’s false perception of God as a cosmic ball of love, or a doting grandfather desperately needs to be challenged. Unfortunately, difficult truths are often compromised, watered-down, or avoided altogether in the hope of “not offending.” As a result, the church is a mile wide but only an inch deep; judgment is never mentioned, repentance is never sought, sin is often excused, and lives are not radically changed. This leaves people confused and deceived because they believe in a crossless Christianity that bears no resemblance to Jesus’ sobering call to repentance. When we fail to proclaim God’s word faithfully, we run the risk of “encouraging sin” and “perverting the words of the living God” (cf. Jeremiah 23).

“To convince the world of the truth of Christianity, it must first be convinced of sin. It is only sin that renders Christ intelligible” (Andrew Murray; 1828-1917). In other words, Christ’s shed blood on the cross only makes sense in light of the consequences of sin. “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” (I Timothy 1:15), yet, many do not want to mention sin, repentance, or judgment because it's not popular or marketable. They fail to realize that the good news about Christ can only be understood with the bad news as the backdrop.

Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death…”.This verse is not popular in many churches, nor is it preached from many pulpits. Telling others that the punishment for sin is eternal death (separation from God) is not pleasant, marketable, or palatable, but it is powerful: “It is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes…” (Romans 1:16). But be encouraged! Romans 6:23 doesn’t end there. It adds, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”This is how people are truly saved, delivered, and set free from the bondage of sin and death.

We hear a great deal about God’s judgment and what can keep us from heaven, and rightly so, because “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge” (Proverbs 1:7). But we also need to reflect on God’s goodness, love, mercy, and grace. The important question to ask is what is the condition of your heart . . . has true repentance and a belief in Christ as Lord and Savior taken place?

Jesus healed my brokenness and restored my life, and He can do the same for you. If you take only one thing from this article I hope that it is this: There is a deep longing inside all of us that cannot be satisfied until we recognize our need for a Savior, repent of our sin, and turn to Him. Though the road ahead may be uncertain at times, the solid ground beneath will never shift. It's not about religion but a relationship - it’s all about Who you know.

After abandoning Christians, powerful media corporations are now embracing Satanism

There’s a concerted effort afoot to rebrand Satanism as a benevolent, all-faiths religious system marked by tolerance, diversity, and inclusion, as opposed to the ritualistic and overt devil worship with which most people are familiar. And leading the charge in spreading this new-breed type of Satanism to the masses are none other than Hollywood and the mainstream media, both of which having long abandoned any semblance of Christian values, are now openly proclaiming that their true goal and purpose is to usher in this more palatable Antichrist system in preparation for, and anticipation of, the Man of Sin himself.

As explained by Matthew Jacobs, writing for the Verizon-owned The Huffington Post, avowed Satanist Penny Lane recently released her new documentary, Hail Satan?, which sets the tone for this new type of devil worship that’s sure to gain popularity for its fundamental “do as thou wilt” doctrines. Instead of adherents having to wear black clothing while chanting around pentagrams and the like, Lane’s version of Satanism allows for people to essentially do whatever they want, and whatever “feels” right – and is, perhaps, best represented by the six-colored “rainbow” flag of the LGBT Mafia, a popular image that symbolizes this new anything-goes acceptance of anything and everything, except for real Christianity.

“Satanists, it turns out, are everything you think they’re not: patriotic, charitable, ethical, equality-minded, dedicated to picking up litter with pitchforks on an Arizona highway,” Jacobs writes in his glowing endorsement of Lane’s brand of Satanism. “By reclaiming the pop iconography that has long frightened evangelical America – devil worship, ritualistic sacrifice, horns, pentagrams, the so-called Black Mass – the Satanic Temple aims to catch people’s attention and then surprise them with messages of free speech, compassion, liberty and justice for all,” he adds.

Satanism is tolerant of everyone, unless you trust in Christ as your Savior

There’s nothing off-limits within the realm of Satanism – except, of course, for believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and trusting in him for salvation. Christians, in other words, have no place within Satanism, nor will they be welcomed into the global Antichrist system that Lane and her fellow Satanists are chomping at the bit to see implemented by force.

While extolling the “virtues” of Satanism in terms of it supposedly propagating a dogma coexistence, Lane makes it clear that people like Vice President Mike Pence, who openly identifies as a Christian, are not to be coexisted with because, in her view, they’re trying to implement a Christian theocracy. Christianity cannot coexist with Satanism, in other words, and thus must be curb-stomped into oblivion – all in the name of “love,” of course.

This would seem to be the future of Satanism: a kinder, softer religious system of embracing the “real you” while coming together with everyone else, regardless of perceived differences, in order to tackle “problems” like “global warming” that supposedly affect the entire planet, and thus require a unified, all-is-one solution from the new global citizenry marching in lockstep under the “rainbow” banner of pride – pride being the very first sin that Satan cultivated into fruition back in the Garden of Eden.

“While these are intended as signs of inclusiveness and tolerance, their presence is in reality a sign of the unabashed brazenness of the ancient enemy of Christ planting his flag wherever he can to claim God’s people for himself,” writes Doug Mainwaring for LifeSiteNews.com about what Satan’s “rainbow” flags truly represent. “The rainbow flag in churches stands in judgment and mockery of the Primordial Sacrament, Christ’s spousal love for his perfect complement, his Betrothed, the Church … It’s just an equal sign: Dismantling the Cross of Christ.”

Disney’s ‘A Wrinkle in Time’ Cuts Bible References and Erases God, Jesus, Christian Artists From L’Engle’s Classic Novel

As Disney adapted the beloved children’s book “A Wrinkle in Time” (1962) into a major motion picture — with no less than Oprah Winfrey on the star-studded cast list — the studio cut out a great deal along the way. Bible quotes, a reference to Jesus, and even Christian historical figures all got the boot. Could the excising of God help explain why the movie is projected to struggle at the box office?

‘The View’ Co-Host Sunny Hostin Claims: Jesus Would Attend a Homosexual Pride Parade

During Monday’s broadcast of the “The View,” co-host Sunny Hostin asserted that Jesus would attend a homosexual pride parade as she refuted a tweet from a Roman Catholic leader who advised that Catholics “should not support or attend” such events.

“My faith always taught me, ‘What would Jesus do?’ And I know Jesus would be attending that pride parade,” she claimed, according to video footage posted online.

“With pride,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg interjected.

“And I also know that God is love, and love is love,” Hostin stated. “And for a Catholic bishop to come out and say something like that, given the history of pedophilia in the Catholic Church, given what the Catholic Church has hidden about the abuse of children, some would say that being at a pride parade would be much safer for a child than it has been to be in a Catholic church for many years.”

The audience then broke into enthusiastic applause and Goldberg dinged the bell in front of her in support of the statement.

The matter began when Thomas Tobin, the “bishop” of Providence, Rhode Island, posted to Twitter on Saturday, “A reminder that Catholics should not support or attend LGBTQ ‘Pride Month’ events held in June. They promote a culture and encourage activities that are contrary to Catholic faith and morals. They are especially harmful for children.”

Hostin responded to the tweet the following day, “This practicing Catholic will be supporting and attending LGBTQ pride events. And so will my Catholic children. You should be ashamed @ThomasJTobin1.”

Her remarks drew mixed feedback, with some agreeing and others advising Hostin that her thinking is unbiblical.

“God made us this way. God loves us this way. Thank you, Sunny!” one commenter wrote.

“Right there with you, Sunny! Jesus taught love and acceptance, and that’s what we should be teaching our children. Period,” another asserted.

“I’m a Bible believing Christian and nothing you stated is biblical!” a third exclaimed. “While we should be kind to homosexuals, we should not be celebrating their sinful/unrepentant lifestyle! The Bible states believers should not have close relationships with the world!”

“God’s love for all of us comes in the form of His Son’s sacrifice, so we may repent and have eternal life,” another explained. “Read what happened to #Sodom and #Gomorrah for their homosexual sin.”

As previously reported, the Bible teaches that all men are born with the Adamic sin nature, having various inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God and being “by nature, the children of wrath” (Ephesians 2:3).

It is why Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, and be transformed from being in Adam to being in Christ, or they cannot see the kingdom of Heaven.

“Jesus answered and said unto him, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.’

Nicodemus saith unto him, ‘How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb and be born?’

Jesus answered, ‘Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ‘Ye must be born again.’”

Romans 5:6-10 also explains that the love of God is demonstrated by Christ dying for His enemies so that they might be saved from the power of sin and the wrath of God.

“For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die, yet peradventure, for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”
