Should Christians be allowed to work jobs where if they were raptured it would result in the injury or mass death of people? I say NO! What do you think?

Even though this video is a satirical/rhetorical exercise, in reality it is also valid. Many people are banned from certain types of employment because of their condition or religious belief already. I am sure that if one has epilepsy, narcolepsy, bipolarism, schizophrenia etc, they are not eligible for many critical occupations. The FBI, CIA and even the general public are not going to put fundamentalist Muslims into elected office or in positions where they can bring about mass death or compromise the security of the country. I for one would never have a Santeria family pet set my dog or let a Muslim mullah or Catholic priest baby sit my grand children. Why would anyone who believes they could be raptured any second work an occupation where their sudden absence would most likely result in a terrible event killing one or many of their fellow human beings? If they truely believe this doctrine and they are not evil to the core, they would quit such critical occupations and find more suitable work like flipping burgers or sweeping floors.

Sorry if I offended you. I only posted the video, because I just found it strange what the guy was saying about Christians only being able to have certain jobs.

i dont know, we were having a nice discussion and than you post that. Not only does it mock a biblical doctrine, but it makes fun of all who hold to said doctrine. oh and it has stairway to heaven playing in it. Do i really need to go into that song?  The timing is questionable.

I was looking at Rapture videos at the time we were having the discussion. It was just bad timing.

I apologize Dok, and didn't know. As to the song I didn't know as I don't pay attention to the songs, and had no idea of it. If you want just remove it. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, or sorry if you took it as an attack on the doctrine of Pre Tribulation.

Forgive me, and I ask forgiveness even as Christ forgave each of us. Were brothers in Christ, and i'll admit the timing was bad. Hope no hard feelings over this...

Yeah I listened to the video again, and watched it over. I must have missed it, but at the beginning he did say music was "stairway to Heaven."

Because I missed that I didn't even know what the music was, because no one was singing. It was also quieter than the guy talking as well. I don't listen to rock music so wouldn't have any idea, and though I did when I was unsaved I'm unfamiliar with that song. I have heard of it, and possibly even heard the song once before, but don't recall it well, because its not something I have heard over, and over.

Also I realize the guy in there is not a Christian now...I should have paid more attention to the video. My bad...

Why would any one left behind die when the Rapture takes place? And if your Raptured it doesn't matter what happens on earth. If you are Raptured you wont even be thinking of earth.

if it makes u feel any beter, at first glance i didn't know it was mocking God either, other that the song I didn't think it was a bad video. i thought it was a legitimate question. i'm still learning. if u think about it , driving a car is operating heavy machinery, so am i never to drive? or cook because the stove will be left on and start a fire?

I believe the thinking here is if the pilot of a passenger plane is Raptured then those on the plane will crash and possibly die due to his disappearance.

Maybe some of those lost people would call out to the Lord Jesus and then they could land the plane. Whatever God's Will is will happen. People are dying from natural disasters so is it any different from that?

I don't think so, but I'm sure they are looking for any way to blame Christians for a variety of things.     The day is coming where we will be considered the enemy.
