The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Pat Robertson Says Alabama Abortion Law ‘Has Gone Too Far’ by Banning the Killing of Babies in Cases of ****, Incest

Controversial televangelist Pat Robertson stated via his “700 Club” broadcast on Wednesday that he believes Alabama’s recently passed “Human Life Protection Act” goes too far because of its severe penalties for abortionists and its lack of exceptions for **** and incest.

“I think Alabama has gone too far,” he said. “They would give a 99-year prison sentence to people who commit an abortion, [and] there’s no exception for **** or incest. It’s an extreme law.”

As previously reported, House Bill 314 says that “t shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally perform or attempt to perform an abortion except … if an attending physician licensed in Alabama determines that an abortion is necessary in order to prevent a serious health risk to the unborn child’s mother.”

The performance of an abortion outside of the exception would be a class A felony. However, “[n]o woman upon whom an abortion is performed or attempted to be performed shall be criminally or civilly liable.”

Read the bill in full here, which has now been signed into law by Gov. Kay Ivey.

“The heart of this bill is to confront a decision that was made by the courts in 1973 that said the baby in the womb is not a person,” main sponsor Rep. Terri Collins, R-Decatur, outlined during debate on the legislation. “This bill addresses that one issue. Is that baby in the womb a person? I believe our law says it is.”

Robertson acknowledged during today’s broadcast that the bill is a challenge to Roe, but said that “my humble view is this is not the case we want to bring to the Supreme Court because I think this one will lose.”

He stated that he believes Roe was a “phony case” and an “ACLU job,” noting that plaintiff Norma McCorvey later disavowed abortion completely. Robertson also decried the “extreme” practice of partial birth abortion and expressed concern about the ramifications of a recently passed bill in Vermont that establishes abortion as a fundamental right.

“We’ve aborted over 60 million babies since Roe v. Wade and the restrictions on any kind of abortion have been extraordinary,” he said. “But the Alabama case — God bless them — they’re trying to do something, but I don’t think that’s the case we’d want to bring to the Supreme Court.”

View Robertson’s comments here beginning at 9:37 into the broadcast.

While some, such as Robertson, view the U.S. Supreme Court as the final arbiter in the matter, others note that the court is not God.

“The idea that we are to always obey the civil government because it is appointed by God is absurd. The subjugation they are due is not without limits,” wrote Matt Trewhella, a pastor and leader of a pro-life ministry, in his book “The Doctrine of the Lesser Magistrates.” “When they pervert their God-given role and function and begin to reward those who do evil and punish those who do good, … we have no duty to obey them. Rather, we have a duty to do obey God.”

“The interposition of the lesser magistrate is … critically important for the protection of life. … Abortion is a clear violation of God’s law. The Scripture declares, ‘You shall not murder,'” he outlined. “The U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Roe v. Wade, as well as its companion case, Doe v. Bolton, represent unjust and immoral rulings because they contravene the law of God. On this matter, the lesser magistrates are clearly obligated to resist and actively oppose the federal government.”

As previously reported, Robertson has made a number of remarks on his broadcast that have been considered to be controversial. Last month, Robertson responded to a viewer’s question about her church’s teaching on the age of the earth by remarking that young earth creationism is “embarrassing.”

“Well, the truth is the dinosaurs were extinct maybe … about 50 billion years ago, and this planet has been [around] much longer than that,” he asserted. “[T]his universe that we live in is about 14 billion years old and there’s no question about it. And we have tremendous geological records and all the rest of it. And that 6,000-year stuff just doesn’t compute.”

In 2012, Robertson responded to a viewer who was afraid that her husband and teenage sons might leave the faith, including because of questions they had surrounding the existence of dinosaurs.

f you fight revealed science, you’re going to lose your children, and I believe in telling them the way it was,” Robertson remarked.

Robertson likewise generated outrage in 2011 when he counseled that a man who was having an affair should divorce his wife with Alzheimer’s disease and “start all over again” because the condition is “a kind of death.” In 2013, he stated that while he questions those who identify as transgender, he doesn’t see “any sin associated with” obtaining a sex-change operation.

Pat Robertson Claims God Could Have Made The Earth in Six 'Galactic' or 'Universal' Days

Televangelist Pat Robertson again refuted that the Earth was created in six literal days in answering a question from a viewer on Tuesday’s “700 Club” broadcast.

The viewer, named Julie, had asked Robertson if he believes that the earth is billions of years old, and if so, how that would square with the Bible’s chronology of a six-day creation.

“I enjoyed watching your recent interview with Hugh Ross. He seems to believe in the Big Bang theory and that the Earth is billions of years old. I was wondering if you hold to this belief as well,” she inquired, her question being read by co-host Terry Meeuwsen. “If so, how does one reconcile this with the account of Creation in Genesis that the Earth was created in [six] literal 24-hour days.”

“You use the term ‘literal 24-hour days.’ The Bible doesn’t say that,” Robertson responded. “It says day one, day two, and so forth. But what is a day?”

Robertson then asserted that there are different types of days and the Bible could have meant any one of those.

“A day is how long it takes the Earth to revolve — that’s one way of looking at it. But another day could be a lunar day — how long does it take for the moon to revolve around,” he said. “Another would be a solar day — how long does it take the sun to revolve. Another could be a galactic day — how long does it take a galaxy to move around. And a universal day would be how long does it take to traverse the entire universe.”

“And any of those could be a day,” Robertson contended. “The Bible doesn’t say a literal 24 hours. Okay?”

As previously reported, Robertson made similar remarks in May when another woman asked a question about the age of the Earth. He responded that young Earth teaching is “nonsense” and “embarrassing.”

“I learned in church that the time of creation was 6,000 years ago. How does that work, compared to science saying dinosaurs are thousands or millions of years old?” the viewer asked.

Robertson pointed to 17th Anglican Bishop James Ussher, who used both biblical and non-biblical historical sources to chronicle and calculate that Adam was created by God at approximately 4004 B.C., thus dating the earth to be 6,000 years old.

“Well, the truth is the dinosaurs were extinct maybe … about 50 billion years ago, and this planet has been [around] much longer than that,” Robertson asserted. “And there was a course that they were trying to hustle around called creation science that was just nonsense, and it was so embarrassing, so we wanted to make sure we told the truth.”

“You know, this universe that we live in is about 14 billion years old and there’s no question about it,” Robertson claimed. “And we have tremendous geological records and all the rest of it. And that 6,000-year stuff just doesn’t compute. But we, as Christians, we need to know the truth.”

In describing the vastness of the universe, which He attributed to the hand of God, he then told viewers with a chuckle, “Let’s give God the credit for what He did and not try to limit Him to 6,000 years.”

However, the Kentucky-based apologetics ministry Answers in Genesis has refuted Robertson several times as it teaches why theistic evolution does not reconcile with the Bible and does not make logical sense.

“As a Christian, one cannot consistently take millions of years and add that to the Bible,” President Ken Ham explained in The New Answers 3. “To do so, one would have to reinterpret the Bible’s clear account in Genesis, which results in undermining the authority of Scripture.”

He outlined that the Bible clearly states that death only came after the Fall (“y one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, and so death upon all men.” Romans 5:12). But if one holds to the old Earth theory, then death, decay and suffering would have occurred millions and millions of years before humans ever came onto the scene — which would contradict the Scriptures.

“If one believes in millions of years as the secularists tell us concerning the fossil record, then we have a fossil record of millions of years before man that has evidence of [death and animals eating each other] … and evidences of diseases in the fossil record … and evidences of thorns in the fossil record,” Ham stated.

“The Bible makes it very, very clear that thorns came into the world after the curse. We’re also told that originally, before sin, Adam and Eve and the animals were all vegetarian, and we’re told that God declared that the creation at the end of the sixth day was all very good,” he outlined. “A fossil record with diseases like brain tumors described as very good certainly would not fit.”

“In other words, it’s the Bible’s account of sin changing the whole world, changing the universe, that helps us understand why there’s death in the world, why now animals eat other animals, why people even eat animals,” Ham continued. “The whole world has changed because of sin. In fact, Romans 8 tells us that the whole of creation groans in pain because of sin.”

Televangelist Pat Robertson says God told him Trump will win, then an asteroid will hit Earth

Televangelist Pat Robertson said on Tuesday that God told him President Trump will win, and more than five years later an asteroid will hit Earth and “maybe” bring “the end.”

“First of all, I want to say without question, Trump is going to win the election,’’ Robertson, the founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network told “The 700 Club.”

“That doesn't mean you sit home and don’t vote,” he added. “That means you get out and do everything you can to work, but he’s going to win. That’s, I think, a given.”

The 90-year-old forecasted disaster for the country and the world after the election, including civil unrest, at least two attempts on Trump’s life and a war against Israel that will be “put down by God.”

Then, the world will see “at least five years or more of extraordinary peace” before the asteroid.

“What I think very frankly is the only thing that will fulfill the word of Jesus … is some kind of asteroid strike on the globe,’’ he said. “It’s sudden destruction. It’s not going to be some nuclear war. We’re not going to be allowed to blow this earth up.’'

Following a description of the asteroid’s damage, Robertson said “then, maybe the end” would come next.

The televangelist had made similar predictions in the past, saying in 1976 the world would end in 1982. His 1990 book “The New Millennium” anticipated the end of time on April 29, 2007, USA Today reported.
