Group claims former Muslim's criticism of Islam 'reminiscent of Na.zi Germany'

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is working to stop author and former Muslim Nonie Darwish from addressing students this week at Virginia's George Mason University School of Law.

According to a press release, CAIR wants the school to disinvite Darwish – whom CAIR calls "a notorious Islamophobe who has stated that Islam is a 'poison to a society' that is 'based on lies' and must be 'annihilated'" – from a planned Oct. 5 address titled "The West's Clash with Radicalism."

"Such hate-filled views should not be funded by student organizations or endorsed by professors," said CAIR National Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "Darwish's genocidal statements are reminiscent of those used to target the Jewish community in Na.zi Germany."

But Darwish, who told WND she sees Muslims as largest victims of Shariah (or Islamic) law, says CAIR is falsely equating criticism of a religion with hatred for a people because "the problem for CAIR is that they cannot debate us about the glaring truth, so they claim we hate Muslims, trying to deflect the attention of the American people from the true worldwide problem of Islamism, jihad, Shariah and tyranny.

"If anyone criticizes the ideology of Islam, jihad and Shariah, CAIR spins it to an attack on the Muslim people, confusing the American people between criticism of an ideology and being a racist against a whole group of people," Darwish told WND. "I hope that the American people are more intelligent than to fall for this kind of childish spin."

As for being labeled a "Islamophobe," Darwish said, "The truth is that I am afraid of Islamic laws that condemn me and thousands, if not millions of others, who have left the religion of Islam. Shariah is the only religious law in the word that condemns those who leave the religion to death. I do not think it is unreasonable phobia to speak against such a tyrannical law. Actually, it is my duty towards myself and the civil and human rights of many others."

Darwish's address is sponsored by the Federalist Society and the Jewish Law Students Association.

A former Muslim who lived under Shariah for the first 30 years of her life, Darwish is the author of "Cruel and Usual Punishment: The Terrifying Global Implications of Islamic Law."

CAIR's objection to her appearance is based partially on a previous speech, in which Darwish addressed a rally in Florida sponsored by Stop Islamization of America, a organization headed by Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, whom CAIR calls "two of the nation's leading Islamophobes," blasting their organization as "a hate group."

CAIR has also attempted to block Geller, author of "Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance," from speaking.

In May of last year, CAIR attempted to have Geller removed from the list of speakers at the inaugural Tennessee Tea Party Convention. Event organizers rebuffed CAIR's objections.

Geller later wrote on her blog, "CAIR is trying to get good, decent Americans in the Tennessee Tea Party to crush free speech by dropping me."

"Islam is a poison to a society. It's divisive. It's hateful," Darwish told Geller's Florida rally. "Islam should be feared, and should be fought, and should be conquered, and defeated and annihilated, and it's going to happen. Ladies and gentlemen, Islam is going to be brought down. . .Because Islam is based on lies and it's not based on the truth. I have no doubt whatsoever that Islam is going to be destroyed."

For these comments, CAIR blasted Darwish as "filled with anti-Islam hate."

Darwish, however, says she's speaking not from hate, but from a desire to see people – especially Muslims – freed: "What I speak about, and what CAIR is afraid of being exposed, is my standing up against the tyranny of Shariah law, the radical ideology of violent jihad, the commandments to kill Jews by many sheikhs in the Middle East and in many Muslim scriptures, my stand against atrocities happening today in the name of Shariah law to thousands and perhaps millions of people, including Muslims, in over 54 countries around the world.

"Criticizing Sharia, Islamic law and other radical laws against women, Jews and non-Muslims is a crime against Islam in Shariah," she concluded, "and CAIR has convinced some Americans that it's a crime in America also."

Speak out against Islamic terror? Not at this U.S. hotel
Author warns future of constitutional republic is in serious jeopardy

A Hyatt hotel in Sugar Land, Texas, has abruptly canceled a previously scheduled tea-party event at which author and Atlas Shrugs founder Pamela Geller was scheduled to speak on the dangers of Islam.

Geller said the decision came about because the hotel was "intimidated" into censoring her planned speech by "CAIR thugs," referring to the controversial Islamic advocacy group Council on American-Islamic Relations.

She accused the Hyatt Place of enforcing Islamic law, or Shariah, under which no criticism of Islam is allowed. In Muslim nations, it can be a death penalty offense, Geller noted.

She said pressure from Islamic interests ultimately pressed the hotel to cancel her address to tea party members who had set up the event.

Tea-party backers, then, were forced to find another location, the Sugar Land Community Center, on virtually no notice, Geller said.

"Free speech, the cornerstone of our constitutional republic, is in serious jeopardy," Geller reported today after being informed of the sudden change. "Under the Shariah, criticism of Islam is blasphemy (punishable by death in Muslim countries). This is the death of free speech in the continuing Islamization of America."

A Hyatt employee in Sugar Land, who identified himself only as Brandon, told WND the abrupt change was a "business" decision. But when asked about the links between CAIR and terror, he slammed the phone down.

Jamie Zimmerman at the company's corporate headquarters issued a statement that said, "In light of the business disruptions anticipated with this event, it has been moved to an alternate location. The hotel thanks the organizers of the event for their cooperation in relocating the event."

But there was no mention that the organizers had to go to another location when the hotel canceled.

And the company refused to answer the question that WND submitted: "Is Hyatt Place Houston aware that CAIR – the Council on American-Islamic Relations – is tied to Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamic terror organizations, according to federal prosecutors and the FBI, and has been judged in federal court to be a co-conspirator in funding terrorism?"

The company also refused to respond to other questions, such as "What specifically changed between the time Hyatt accepted the reservation and when Hyatt canceled the event?" "Were there outside comments that influenced the decision?" and "What do you mean by 'business disruption?'"

Asked by WND to answer some of the questions, the company expanded on its earlier statement, with:

Hyatt Place Houston/Sugar Land respects the various opinions expressed by our guests and visitors. In this particular situation, the changing security needs required for the safety of our guests and others on the hotel property and to avoid business disruption prompted us to ask the organizers to move it to an alternate location. We are pleased that the organizers were able to identify a venue better equipped to provide services to ensure the safety and well-being of everyone involved with the event.

"I will never stay at a Hyatt Place again. Ever," wrote Geller.

"Hyatt Place Houston/Sugar Land received a couple of threatening calls and they surrendered to Islamic supremacists without even firing a shot," she said.

Geller believes that kind of surrender is characteristic of "dhimmitude,"  the second-class status of non-Muslims under Islamic rule.

She explained that "dhimmitude" is "the Islamic system of governing populations conquered by jihad wars, encompassing all of the demographic, ethnic, and religious aspects of the political system. The word 'dhimmitude' as a historical concept, was coined by Bat Ye'or in 1983 to describe the legal and social conditions of Jews and Christians subjected to Islamic rule. The word 'dhimmitude' comes from dhimmi, an Arabic word meaning 'protected'. Dhimmi was the name applied by the Arab-Muslim conquerors to indigenous non-Muslim populations who surrendered by a treaty (dhimma) to Muslim domination."

Robert Spencer added at JihadWatch.org that Hamas-linked CAIR "and other Islamic supremacist groups are conducting an ongoing campaign to discredit and marginalize everyone who dares to stand up against the jihad and Islamic supremacism."

"Central to this campaign is pressure against any organization or venue that dares to host a freedom fighter – hence Hamas-linked CAIR's efforts to intimidate the FBI and the military into dropping invitations to me and other counter-jihadists, and its pressure on universities and private groups that host events featuring pro-freedom activists," Spencer said.

"Hamas-linked CAIR and its Islamic supremacist and Leftist allies are open enemies of the freedom of speech, and they're relentless in bringing pressure on any individual, group or venue that dares to step out of the political correct dhimmi lockstep. … Wherever they succeed in intimidating a group or venue into dropping a talk by a freedom fighter, we have to bring just as much pressure to bear for the cause of justice, and let that group or venue know that we do not appreciate their failure to stand up for constitutional principles when challenged," he said.

Geller will be speaking next month at a conference in Nashville on Shariah and related issues.

Obama's Department of Shariah
Exclusive: Pamela Geller sounds alarm over DOJ in bed with Islamic supremacists


In the continuing Islamization of the Department of Justice, Barack Obama's DOJ filed a lawsuit against a Chicago-area school district for not allowing Safoorah Khan, a Muslim teacher at MacArthur Middle School, to take time off to make the hajj, the Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, thereby abandoning her students for a month. The DOJ sued the school district and last week forced it to give Khan $75,000 in lost back pay, compensatory damages and attorneys' fees.

The Berkeley School District didn't deny Khan's request because they hated Muslims. The school needed her. That's why they said no. She was the only math lab teacher and was a new hire on probation – she had only been on the job for nine months. Why take a job you can't do? Why take a job that you plan on leaving for a month? Islamic supremacism.

Khan herself made that clear when she said: "I'm glad that we settled, and I hope this does set a precedent. I hope they realize that hajj means a lot to Muslims and there will be more and more people taking the trip. I hope this helps people and their employers to accommodate Muslims and their requests."

In other words, employers better get used to changing the way they operate their businesses in order to accommodate Muslim demands, or else.

Your taxpayer dollars at work: to sue on behalf of an Islamic supremacist and to force the school district to pay 75K in jizya, the tribute money Islamic law requires non-Muslims to pay to Muslims.

Obama's Department of Shariah filed this outrageous lawsuit against the school district in December 2010, not to ensure the kids get a good education, mind you, but more importantly, to ensure that the Muslims get special rights and extraordinary accommodation. Obama's Department of Shariah sued to ensure the kids got the shaft but the teacher got the hajj.

This is the same DOJ's Eric Holder who spoke at the Muslim Advocates dinner a few months back and reassured Muslims of "DOJ's anti-bias focus."

This is the same DOJ that scuttled the prosecutions against Muslim Brotherhood-tied groups, i.e. CAIR et al.

This is the same DOJ that is creating Muslim majority legislative districts by converting a religious class into a racial one.

This is the same Eric Holder who sued a New Jersey county demanding that a correction facility change its rules to allow a Muslim prison guard to wear a khimar, an Islamic head covering, even though it's a choke hazard and she will be among prisoners.

The Department of Justice sponsored a booth at the Muslim Brotherhood front ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) convention underwritten by, among others, the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas-linked CAIR.

Further, Obama's Department of Justice dropped the "charges" against the Muslims who blew up the USS Cole.

We don't need the Justice Department on cases like those. We need the Justice Department investigating how taxpayer dollars are being used to fund Islamic finance (thereby funding jihad and prohibition on whole American business sectors). We need the Justice Department on the violation of the separation of mosque and state in the public schools, in the workplace, in the courtroom and in foreign policy. We need the Justice Department on the violation of the Constitution in regards to Muslims – no longer are equal rights sufficient; now it's special rights for a very extra special class, Muslims, as the Safoorah Khan case demonstrates.

We need the Justice Department presenting a parade of reliable witnesses like the ex-Muslim human-rights activists Nonie Darwish; Ayaan Hirsi Ali; Ibn Warraq; the former Sudanese jihad slave and Christian activist Simon Deng; witnesses to the Fort Hood jihad murders; witnesses to the Christmas underwear bomber jihad attack on a plane in Detroit; witnesses to the failed jihad bombing in Times Square; compatriots of jihad plotter Najibullah Zazi; and hundreds of victims of jihad attacks in the U.S. and elsewhere.

These would finally educate the American people about Islamic jihad. But instead, we see the Obama administration aiding and abetting Islam's ongoing war against the principle of the equality of rights of all people, and against the few brave people who speak candidly about Islamic jihad and the hundreds of thousands who have been slaughtered in jihadist wars, land appropriations, cultural annihilations and enslavements.

Obama and Holder want to use your tax dollars to make sure that Safoorah Khan, Nihad Awad, Ibrahim Hooper, Sheik Qaradawi and the hundreds of other Muslim Brotherhood individuals and groups achieve their goal unmolested, and that nothing stands in the way of that stated goal: "eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house."

The Safoorah Khan case is just the beginning of Islamic supremacist attempts to gain special privileges for Muslims. It is incumbent upon all free Americans to fight all the harder for equality and justice for all people.
