The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. Gail Riplinger (KJVO) - A look at her book, New Age Bible Versions and it's misrepresentations.

They have her just for,

Quote
My comment

To Bare in Mind Gail Riplinger Claims that the KJV (King James Version) is more superior and accurate to any other translation, that all the other translations are satanic and that their is a new world order agenda behind them, Riplinger holds to the King James Only stance.

Miguel Hayworth
Director /First Plumbline Apologetics

Uhm, i dont know to much about her, her book is one of the few i do not own or have read, but from what i know of her book i have to agree with what she has to say. Is there another reason other than this, that she should be on that list? I mean putting her in with some of those people just for her KJV only stance, and calling out the heretical new age versions of Westcott and Hort, really makes no sence to me. I dont think she should be mixed in with that den of vipers.

I noticed Stan Johnson(The Prophecy Club) is on there too - I'm not a fan of Stan either, but to his credit, he's had alot of really good guests on his program(Scott, Hoggard, Fritz Springmeyer, Bill Schnevlin, Doc Marquis, just to name a few).

Yes, she should be, but NOT for this reason. Recently, she's started to attack Pastor DA Waite(and falsely at that). Waite, in response, has slowly but surely exposed all her lies. The reasons being, I don't know, but she got exposed.

And this isn't the first time I've heard bible/prophecy/watchmen teachers call out KJVO people as heretics. Chris Rosebrough on Fighting for the Faith.com has, as has this web site, etc.(I like Rosebrough, FWIW, he's done an excellent job exposing the deceptions of the Emergent Church - but for the most part, those that attack KJVO have been brainwashed in their seminaries)

A LIGHTHOUSE TRAILS SPECIAL REPORT

Rick Warren's New Health and Wellness Initiative
Could Have Profound Repercussions on Many

January 11, 2011

Dear Scott,

In view of the recent violent tragedy in Tuscon, Arizona, Lighthouse Trails wants to reiterate: The purpose of our critiques is in no wise intended to be vitriolic or hateful or to inspire hateful acts against those we write about. We deplore violent, cruel, and unjust acts against any person or groups of persons. Our purpose is to challenge those who are considered to be the leaders of the Christian church in the area of doctrine as it relates to the defense of the Christian faith and the Gospel of Jesus Christ as the Bible puts forth.

" Rick Warren's New Health and Wellness Initiative Could Have Profound Repercussions on Many"

Just ten days after Lighthouse Trails posted its last and most important article of 2010, Rick Warren’s “Apologetics” Weekend Should Apologize for Representing “Another Gospel,” we must issue this Special Report regarding a year-long event that will be kicking off at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church on January 15th.

Near the end of 2010, Rick Warren announced that Saddleback Church would be entering "a Decade of Destiny." He told his congregation that they would be focusing on several key areas, one of them being "health and wellness." The "Daniel Challenge" or the "Daniel Plan" is Saddleback's new health "initiative."  On Saddleback's website, it states:

Gods’ Prescription For Your Health

Be a part of this transformational debut to be a healthier you!

The kick-off event is next weekend, January 15. We’ll hear from world-renowned doctors on a plan to get healthy and stay that way in the new decade.

Who are the "world-renowned doctors" that will be helping to kick off Saddleback's Decade of Destiny? Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Daniel Amen, and Dr. Mark Hyman. The video on the website states that this program has been "Exclusively Designed for Saddleback Church by Three of the Leading Health Specialists in America."

Let us get right to the point: The three doctors who have put together a 52-week health program for Saddleback congregants are absolute advocates and proponents of not just eastern-style meditation but actual eastern meditation and much much more as this article will reveal. Right off, let us say that if you are thinking perhaps that these doctors will only advise Saddleback on legitimate health advice (exercise, healthy eating, etc.) take a look at this video (taken place at Saddleback) between Rick Warren and Dr. Daniel Amen. Amen intends to help Saddleback participants to have good "brain health," which he firmly believes comes from meditation. In this video, he openly discusses meditation with Rick Warren.

What are the spiritual underpinnings of the meditation these three doctors are propagating? This report will lay it out for you.

Dr. Amen, founder of Amen Clinics, is the author of over 25 books. He teaches techniques that will improve "brain health," claiming that poor brain health is associated with a host of problems from overeating to depression. As Dr. Amen describes in the video you just saw, he includes meditation (and in fact this is his primary tool) as a way to have a healthy brain.

It is the nature of this meditation that sets Dr. Amen apart from any other individual that Lighthouse Trails has ever written about concerning Rick Warren. In a 6-CD set called Create a More Passionate Night,  Dr. Amen has teamed up with advanced certified Tantra educator, T. J. Bartel. It is important that you visit Bartel's website to better understand the nature of what he stands for. By the way, when you hear Bartel say "Namaste," this means the god in me bows down to the god in  you. We have discussed tantric sex in a number of  Lighthouse Trails articles in the past, such as one called What's Sex Got to Do with It?" Please refer to this article if you are unfamiliar with this spiritual practice. In essence, Tantra or tantric sex is the use of Hinduistic-type mysticism during sexual intercourse. Please listen to what Ray Yungen has to say about Tantra and the serious implications of it:

Tantra is the name of the ancient Hindu sacred texts that contain certain rituals and secrets. Some deal with taking the energies brought forth in meditation through the chakras and combining them with love-making to enhance sexual experiences.

Once completely off-limits to the masses of humanity, Tantra, like all other New Age methodologies, is now starting to gain increasing popularity. . . . The potential to impact a very great number of people, especially men, was brought out in an article by a sex workerwho incorporates “Tantric Bodywork” into her services. . . .  she has turned to Tantric Union to give her clients what she feels is not just sex but “union with the divine.” . . .  Now the “multitudes of men” who come to her get much more than they bargained for. In the past, wives and girlfriends needed only to worry about sexually transmitted diseases from cheating husbands and boyfriends, but now their men may instead bring home spiritual entities! (For Many Shall Come in My Name, Yungen, pp. 115-116)

We are sorry to be so frank - but we must - we are dealing with Rick Warren,  "America's Pastor" and one of the most, perhaps the most, influential evangelical leaders today. And in just a few days, he will be starting a 52-week health program that has been designed by Dr. Amen, a tantric sex activist! Dr. Amen expresses his strong feelings about tantric in his book, Change Your Brain, Change Your Body:

In my book, The Brain in Love, I wrote about Tantric sexual practices, and was fascinated by the concept . . .  I wanted to experience it for myself and thought it would be a wonderful way to enhance my relationship with my wife, Tana. . . .  T.J. Bartel . . . became our teacher . . . I felt as if I had to share his knowledge with everyone I knew." (p. 283)

Everyone he knows? Will that include Rick Warren, Saddleback Church, and even overflow to thousands of Purpose Driven churches? That could potentially be millions of people. On the video interview with Rick Warren and Dr. Amen, Warren states that Dr. Amen's resources would be available for those attending the seminar this coming weekend. In almost all of the "resources" by  Dr. Amen, he  advocates eastern meditation. In some of the books, he devotes many many pages to meditation practices. On page 238 of Amen's Making a Good Brain Great, he states: "I recommend an active form of yoga meditation called Kriya Kirtan. It is based on the five primal sounds saa, taa, naa, maa, aa." He tells readers to repeat these sounds for 12 minutes straight.

Many of you have heard of New Age leader Eckhart Tolle, whose 2008 book A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life's Purpose was highly popularized by Oprah. Tolle stated that the book's purpose was to bring about a "shift in consciousness" (pp. 6-7). In his earlier book, The Power of Now, he speaks of  this "consciousness," what he considers a christ-consciousness:

Christ is your God-essence or the Self, as it is sometimes called in the East. The only difference between Christ and presence is that Christ refers to your indwelling divinity regardless of whether you are conscious of it or not, whereas presence means your awakened divinity or God-essence. (p. 104)

For more on Eckhart Tolle and the great awakening that New Agers seek after for the planet, read Warren B. Smith's 4-part article, " The Great Heretical Idea: Oprah and Eckhart Do the New Age Shift." Dr. Daniel Amen talks about Tolle's The Power of Now in his book, Change Your Brain, Change Your Body, calling Tolle's book "extraordinary."

Dr. Amen's meditation technique of choice is Kriya Kirtan, as we stated above. This is a form of kundalini yoga (see his book,The Brain in Love, p. 146). Those who have studied with discernment the New Age, know that kundalini (or serpent power) is the spiritual "energy" behind meditation. Ray Yungen explains the relationship between kundalini and the chakras:

The chakras act as conduits or conductors for what is called kundalini or serpent energy. They say this force lies coiled but dormant at the base of the spine like a snake. When awakened during meditation, it is supposed to travel up the spine activating each chakra as it surges upward. When the kundalini force hits the crown chakra, the person experiences enlightenment or Self-realization. This mystical current results in the person knowing himself to be God. That is why kundalini is sometimes referred to as the divine energy. According to New Age proponents, all meditative methods involve energy and power, and the greater the power, the greater the experience. (FMSC, pp. 76-77)

Dr. Mark Hyman, one of the three doctors who "designed" the "Daniel Challenge" for Saddleback , is another strong advocate for mystical meditation. In his book, The Ultramind Solution, Hyman emphasizes meditation, saying that it doesn't matter what religion one has to benefit from it (p. 322). Dr. Hyman suggests that "Mindful meditation is a powerful well-researched tool, developed by Buddhists" (p. 384). On the front cover of The Ultramind Solution, sits an endorsement by Dr. Mehmet Oz, the third doctor who will be training Saddleback on health.

Anyone who watches daytime television, in particular Oprah, will know the name Dr. Oz, a highly renowned cardiovascular surgeon.  It was Oprah who featured him on her show for five years, making him a household name, which eventually led to his own television show, one of the most popular shows on television.

Last February, Lighthouse Trails posted a piece titled "Dr. Oz Tells Millions of Americans: 'Try Reiki!'" In January 2010, Dr. Oz brought a Reiki master onto his show to demonstrate Reiki and then ended the show saying,  “try Reiki” as the #1 “Oz’s Order.” It would make sense that Dr. Oz would tell his viewers to try Reiki - his wife is a Reiki practitioner. One press release related:

Reiki Masters across America and the world had cause for celebration on January 6 when Dr. Mehmet Oz revealed his Ultimate Alternative Medicine Secrets for 2010 during his nationally broadcast afternoon talk show. He ranked Reiki #1. Dr. Oz said, “Reiki is one of my favorites, we’ve been using it for years in the Oz family, and we swear by it.”

As Lighthouse Trails has documented for years, Reiki is a type of "energy healing" that is based on the New Age chakra system and puts those practicing it into contact with the realm of familiar spirits. If this sounds far fetched, listen to what one Reiki master wrote in the Everything Reiki Book:

During the Reiki attunement process, the avenue that is opened within the body to allow Reiki to flow through also opens up the psychic communication centers.  This is why many Reiki practitioners report having verbalized channeled communications with the spirit world. (cited in A Time of Departing, p. 97)

Recently, we posted a YouTube video that describes the spiritual consequences of practicing Reiki. The person doing the video told the story of one woman, who after practicing Reiki came into contact with 35 spirit guides, and she was unable to rid herself of them. They told her they would be with her forever. If you have not yet viewed this 10 minute video, it is imperative that you do. Reiki is a catalyst  or channel, as stated earlier, into the spirit world. This is not a silly, nonsensical ritual with no meaning. This is serious stuff!

How serious? Consider this: A book titled The Instruction written by Ainslie MacLeod, is described by the publisher as the following:

Have you ever sensed that your life has a deeper, more meaningful purpose--but don't know what it is? If so, you're not alone. To help you and the millions like you, psychic Ainslie MacLeod's spirit guides have given him a systematic approach to uncovering who you really are--and the life your soul has planned for you. They call it The Instruction. Now, for the first time, this unique teaching is offered as a step-by-step program for realizing personal fulfillment. The Instruction will take you through ten "doorways" to unveil the life plan your soul created before you were even born.

In the  foreword written by MacLeod, he says the "purpose of the book is to understand the coming shift in consciousness that is poised to sweep the planet. This transformation will affect everyone of us in some way." This book, which is given by spirit guides and lays out the basic foundation for the New Age impressed Dr. Oz so much that he wrote an endorsement for the front cover. He stated:   "I recommend this book to those who seek greater spiritual well-being and a better understanding of their life's purpose." Dr. Oz's endorsement is also on the front cover of MacLeod's 2010 book, The Transformation: Healing Your Past Lives to Realize Your Soul's Potential, where he exclaimed: "Ainslie MacLeod is at the frontier of exploration into the soul and its profound influence on our physical selves."

Make no mistake about it - Reiki, meditation, tantric sex - these are very powerful mystical experiences that have the capability to delude and deceive those who are involved with it. While many of the health ideas these three doctors share in their books and DVDs are legitimate (exercise, vitamins, and good diet, etc.), these doctors firmly believe in meditation and want to make it widely accepted and embraced and have interwoven this belief into their programs. As Dr. Amen admitted himself, he wants to tell everyone he knows about meditation. Rick Warren and Saddleback are in danger as could be the millions who Rick Warren influences.

We urge all discerning believers to contact their own pastors  and any other pastors or leaders they know to warn them about what is taking place in the name of wellness and fitness in the church. We urge you also to contact ministries who have, in one way or another, either through consent or silence, supported the "new" spirituality that is trying to enter the church and tell them where it leads.  The wellness and fitness aspect of this is just another face of this whole movement that is impacting our entire culture.

In this plea, consider what Roger Oakland stated at the end of Faith Undone:

There are still pastors and churches dedicated to proclaiming the truth. Find out where they are and support them. If you are in a location where this does not seem to be possible, seek out materials that are available from solid Bible-based Christian ministries and hold Bible studies in your homes.

When Jesus returns, He will not find a utopian world filled with peace but one in shambles, unrest, violence, and war for having forsaken the Word of God, the true Gospel, and the One true God. Rather than being a time when He will praise the world for discovering its christ-consciousness, He will come as a Judge and powerful King (p. 230).

Let us hold fast to the truth, and in considering the fact that compromising our spiritual health and wellness is never the right avenue to physical wellness, remember the words Paul spoke to the Romans. He did not tell them to entertain spirit guides, practice mantra meditation, yoga, or Reiki. This was his instruction to believers:

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12: 1-2

As important as physical health may be, we must remember that our bodies are only temporal. Yes, we should take care of them, but in the process we should not do as Esau did and sell out our spiritual heritage for a bowl of pottage.

Hmmm ... Gail Ripplinger ...yes ...she is quite an article ... If you want some background and exposé on her ... there's a video on vimeo from The Bible For Today's channel .. called "The Messianic Claims of Gail Ripplinger"  you could watch to get the some of the story on her claims to fame ... it's not that I am advocating the fact that others are calling her a false prophet, and are being unfair at it because she claims the KJB is the ONLY true book ... but she seems to be one that will not realize that God interprets His own Scriptures right there IN His own Scriptures ...

Although it is beneficial to check dictionaries and concordances and lexicons for exact contextual meanings of some words found in the scriptures, her claims of being knowledgeable in the Greek and Hebrew are quite thin, and seeing as she doesn't even know those languages, how could she possibly be the renowned linguistic she claims to be ?

Bless God for His Word; and Bless Him that he allows NO ONE the power to corrupt His Word (even though they try), for the Holy Spirit is always present and takes good care of His Word .. and to those who are truly seeking Him, and to those who follow Him and worship Him in Spirit and in Truth, He reveals His truths. (those who do not have a love of the truth are the ones He allows the great deception).  The KJV is still God's pure Word in the English tongue ... but remember that He is the Living God.  The issue is the exposé is on Gail Riplinger, not the AV KJ Holy Scriptures.

The Martin Luther one is interesting - William F. Cooper in his Mystery Babylon series said Luther was trained in the Mystery schools, and ultimately COVETED the seat of the Pope.

Yes, the Protestant Reformation brought out wonderful things, however, it seems like Luther's intentions may not have been all that we've been taught.

Also, our Protestant Reformers were A-Millenialists, which Augustine made up initially.

I have Gail Riplinger's book "New Age Bible versions and have read it thoroughly. It is stunning to see the comparisons she notes in other versions to the King James. There are so many important scriptures either left out or stated in a way that is very misleading, minimizing the Blood atonement, the deity of Christ , etc.
After studying her book I became convinced that  my chances for deception would be quelled by hiding the scriptures of the KJV in my heart. There is no going back to other versions for me.  (JMHO)
the cover of her book states "the new case against the NIV, NASB, NKJV, NRSV, NAB, REB, CEV, TEV, GNB, LIVING, PHILLIPS, NEW JERUSALEM, & NEW CENTURY.
I am sure there are lots more false versions that have been published sindce the writing of this book.

Interesting point, when a new version of the Bible c come out they get a copyright, that in itself means it is different from the original, the King James Version is the authorized version for the church... God's church.

Well said Jackie, thank God for Dr Scott Johnson or i guess i would be still reading the NIV!

Wow, i didn't know that the NIV was so corrupted for alot of years and getting that great information about the KJV was a shock!

Not everyone wants to turn down there NIV's sadly but there have been people that i have come across that have made the change too, and there are others who will listen as well.

John MacArthur's NIV commentary may be very flawed and heretical, however, to be fair to him, he was mostly using the NIV manuscripts when he did this commentary. No, I am not defending MacArthur by any means, but ultimately, he ended up exposing the corruptness of the Vaticanus manuscripts, albeit indirectly(meaning that wasn't his intention to begin with).

And don't be discouraged if they don't listen - I tried telling my uncle in Ohio a couple of months ago about it, and he would cut the whole thing short saying "I don't look at book publishers unless it's some very small niche one"(when I warned him about Zonderfan and Rupert Murdoch), and "The purpose of the NIV was to make an easier read translation". Overall, he kept his words few but his tone and body language spake a 1000 words that he didn't want to listen. And for that matter too, on a different related subject, when I told him how William F. Cooper was astonished how a couple of CNN joker journalists were able to get access to interview Bin Laden months BEFORE 9/11, but our best intelligence agencies in the world had no idea where he was, his response was, "But we couldn't find Bin Laden back then b/c we didn't have the proper technology, etc"(Did he even hear what I told him?).

Anyhow, no, my uncle isn't a bad person at all, and maybe he said these things b/c he really feels this way(I myself thought the NIV was good for years b/c that seemed to be the "conventional wisdom" inside church walls), but again, don't be marvelled if they don't want to listen.

I got saved reading the NIV, but none the less, when I learned the truth and the Spirit of God brought conviction to me, there was no going back. I have no room for gray in my life, Truth is absolute, I have had many "church" problems with Saturnalia, Ishtar (Easter) Illuminati symbols and the list goes on. It is not that I set out to be bull headed, I just care more about what God thinks of me than man.

"But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money" Acts 8:20

http://www.forgottenword.org/false.html

Today's preachers along with some who have passed on whose ministry or teachings continue, who are either teaching a false doctrine or are using the Doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ for the benefit of their own selfishness and gain. Some of these preachers lay claim that Jesus is the only way to Heaven (and they would be right), but at the same time, they preach that personal gain is the main message.  There are many different activities out there by some of these people and we would suggest that you study our Articles Page to discover some of what is going on in today's Churches.

These preachers also have church BUILDINGS - not surprising that they have to tweak their messages a bit to make it sound like their pews have to give 10% or whatever in order for their finances, job security, et al to be blessed. Back in 2003 Charles Stanely gave a tithing sermon and said how despite all the immoral filth and aborting babies in this country, this country is still blessed b/c we give, give, and give our money to much needed countries. Of course, Stanley forgot to say how this country has a massive national debt. Now THAT can't be a blessing, can it?

Pentecostal/Charismatic Preachers love these verses:

Malachi 3:
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

One of the biggest problems I see in America today are people who foolishly financially support dead-beat ministries. Proverb 3:9 tells us to “honour” the Lord with our substance and increase. You're not honoring God with your money when you give it to an apostate ministry that doesn't believe in the inspiration of the King James Bible. You're not honoring God with your money when you give it to an apostate ministry that teaches a false gospel of  Lordship Salvation,  worships statues, or doesn't go soul-winning.

It's epidemic in America. Ninety-five percent of all churches in America are a big waste of money. It's tragic how religious people blindly support so many worthless ministries. America's churches are a disgrace.

If you do tithe, do it for the Lord Jesus Christ and no other reason. Never give a preacher or pastor money simply because they ask for it. Ask the Holy Spirit, "Is this money going to further the kingdom of Heaven?  Is this money going to result in lost souls hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ?  What type of ministry am I supporting?  Is the pastor living extravagantly?" I would NEVER support any ministry like the  Salvation Army that doesn't aggressively preach the Gospel to the people whom they are trying to help. It's sweet that the Salvation Army gives hot-chocolate to cold firemen, but it all means nothing if they don't hear the Gospel. I dare you to go to the Salvation Army's official website and show me how to be saved. They are more Army than Salvation. Give your hard-earned money to a soul-winning church!!! A church that does not have a soul-winning ministry is a dead church. The church in the book of Acts was a soul-winning church (Acts 20:20).

Please don't think that I'm discouraging you from tithing, God forbid. I'm simply saying that most of the money given to ministries today is not used wisely or honestly. Too many pastors are living high-on-the-hog, going on trips to the Holy Land, driving a new car every year, golfing with the businessmen in the church rather than soul-winning, and squandering God's money. I'm sick of the hypocrisy.

I found these websites concerning tithing.....I on an intellectual level know that we must support our buildings and be a support to the shepard of the flock. We cannot afford to continue without wisdom or lack of knowledge.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prosperity Preacher Kenneth Copeland Acquires Private Jet Bought With Followers’ Money, Has Goal of Raising $17 Million

Prosperity preacher Kenneth Copeland recently acquired a Gulfstream V private jet, which his staff says is “debt free” because of the donations of his followers. The announcement has drawn both applause and outrage.

Copeland’s organization announced on Jan. 12 that the 81-year-old took possession of the jet, which he purchased from actor, comedian and gospel songwriter Tyler Perry.

“[T]he Holy Spirit confirmed to Brother Copeland that the Gulfstream V was the plane the Lord had set aside for KCM,” claimed Charlie Bollinger, who identified as a volunteer Elite CX Team Leader. “Right away discussions began, and Brother Copeland developed a wonderful personal relationship with the seller, Christian businessman and moviemaker Tyler Perry.”

“Soon a contract was signed, a cash deposit was paid, and the aircraft was brought to Dallas for a very thorough pre-buy inspection process, which [was] wrapped up in November,” he continued. “And praise God, it was actually during Thanksgiving week that the purchase was completed, the title was signed, and thanks to the CX Team, the cash was in the bank to mark it paid in full!”

The Elite CX Team is a group of Copeland supporters who purpose to assist the prosperity preacher financially with his stated projects. Copeland points to a 2002 “prophecy” given by friend Keith Moore of Faith Life Church in Branson, who stated that the Lord was going to raise up wealthy supporters to back Copeland.

“Thus saith the Lord: I am rallying and raising up support to you. It will far surpass all you have previously seen or known,” Moore said. “I’m joining to you new partners who are very strong financially, and they will obey Me. I’m prospering your longtime partners with supernatural increase and they will obey Me.”

Copeland opined in a video posted to YouTube that he believed that the prophecy was coming to pass with the purchase of the Gulfstream V.

While it is unclear as to how much was paid for the jet, Bollinger notes that another $2.5 million is desired to upgrade the avionics in light of soon-coming FAA standards, and that the ultimate goal is to raise $17 million, which will include constructing a hanger for the plane.

“[E]arlier this year when the CX leadership team met to pray and hear from the Lord, the word we heard was harvest. Yes, harvest, harvest, harvest!” he wrote. “The Lord reminded us that, through our CX Team giving, together we have sown into KCM a Citation X, a state-of-the-art HD TV truck, and now we’ve sown a Gulfstream V—all of which are producing a bountiful harvest for every single team member.”

As previously reported, in 2015, Copeland asserted on his television broadcast, “The Believer’s Voice of Victory,” that he flies on a private jet to avoid being bothered by “demon” passengers.

“Oral [Roberts] used to fly airlines,” he said. “But even back then it got to the place where it was agitating his spirit—people coming up to him, he had become famous, and they wanted him to pray for them and all that. You can’t manage that today [in] this dope-filled world, and get in a long tube with a bunch of demons. And it’s deadly.”

While he said that he didn’t want to fly with a “bunch of demons,” moments later, Copeland contended that he needed a private jet to help reach the lost.

“We’re in soul business here. We’ve got a dying world around us. We’ve got a dying nation around us,” Copeland proclaimed. “We can’t even get there on the airlines.”

Last month, in the midst of a series on “supernatural wealth transfer,” his organization posted to social media the exhortation to make the faith confessions, “The wealth of the sinner comes to me now,” “The Lord is increasing me more and more,” and “I call in the harvest on every seed sown.”

The announcement of the purchase of the Gulfstream V has generated mixed reaction, with some praising God for the plane and others lamenting that the money was not used to help the poor and hungry.

“My Father God is raising me to become like the Elite CX Team partners, moving His kingdom forward through prosperity. Hallelujah!” one commenter wrote.

“I am so happy it is here. I know God is going to use you and the plane to bless so many people. I am praying and believing for finances for the hanger and the runway,” another stated.

“Reminds me of the man who said, ‘I will pull down my barns and build bigger ones,'” a third wrote, referring to Christ’s words in Luke 12. “And, oh yes, whilst half the world goes to sleep each night with an empty stomach. Keep on your blindfolds all you gullible people who give to this scam. What a shame.”

“So somehow sowing the Gospel of Christ crucified and reaping a harvest of righteousness has become sowing money into an organization and reaping a harvest of sweet vehicles for said organization and its leader?” another asked.

Jesus said in Luke 12:15, “Take heed, and beware of covetousness, for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”

Megachurch Pastor Bill Hybels Steps Down After Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Willow Creek Church Pastor Bill Hybels officially stepped down from his role as senior pastor after sexual misconduct allegations surfaced last month.

"I have decided to accelerate my planned retirement date from October of this year to tonight. This decision was mine and mine alone, but after much discussion, my decision earned the unanimous support of the Elders and the Executive Team," Hybels says in a statement posted to the Willow Creek website.

"Further, I have decided to step out of my usual teaching and hosting roles at the upcoming Global Leadership Summit. This, too, was my decision, but after discussion and prayer it was agreed upon by the WCA Board," Hybels says. "Going forward, I feel the need to humbly look deep inside myself and determine what God wants to teach me. I intend to continue surrounding myself with wise counselors and trusted friends, and to ask them to speak honestly into my life so that I can learn every single lesson I need to learn from all of this. I have complete peace about this decision and will not rush this process. Your prayers would be much appreciated during this upcoming season of reflection."

The Chicago Tribune issued a report in March alleging Hybels treated women inappropriately during his time as pastor.

Popular evangelical leaders, including John and Nancy Ortberg, say the allegations are true. Hybels firmly denied them.

His statement reads:

In recent times, I've been accused of many things I simply did not do. However, let me humbly acknowledge three things I have done.

First, my first response to some of these recent accusations was anger. I confess to feeling very angry these last few weeks as I watched harmful accusations fly around without accountability. I felt attacked and knew that my loved ones and this church family would be affected. I sincerely wish my initial response had been one of listening and humble reflection. If I could go back, I would have chosen to listen first, and then to seek to learn and understand. I apologize for a response that was defensive, instead of one that invited conversation and learning.

Secondly, I realize now that in certain settings and circumstances in the past I communicated things that were perceived in ways I did not intend, at times making people feel uncomfortable. I was blind to this dynamic for far too long. For that I'm very sorry.

Thirdly, I too often placed myself in situations that would have been far wiser to avoid. I was, at times, naive about the dynamics those situations created. I'm sorry for the lack of wisdom on my part. I commit to never putting myself in similar situations in the future.

Additionally, I want to acknowledge that anytime allegations like these are made, they must be received with great humility and gravity. I reaffirm to you that I have taken these allegations very seriously, as have our church's Elders. While some of the stories that have been told about me are misleading and others are entirely false, and while investigations have found no evidence of misconduct, I have been sobered by these accusations, and as I said earlier, I have invited the input of wise counselors, friends, and family members to help me engage in a process of humble reflection.

Hybels announced last fall that he would be transitioning out of ministry and two co-pastors would step up in his place. Hybels said he would complete the transition by October 2018, but accelerated the move after the allegations surfaced.

Pam Orr, the Willow Creek Board spokesperson, says the elders have claimed 2 Corinthians 4:18 as the hope during the media swirl.
