The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country.  Is nothing sacred? Fury over annoying 'My Muvver' ad that tells children it’s mum - not Santa - who brings the Christmas presents
Littlewoods explains that mum uses her credit card to pay for presents

Hundreds have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority
Ad watchdog clears commercial and says it has no powers to axe it

Christmas comes but once a year and when it does it brings untold happiness and joy to millions of children up and down the country.
But a 40-second television advertisement is ruining the magical mystery of the festive season, according to furious parents.
The Littlewoods commercial features a nativity play in which children sing a song about how it is 'muvver', and not Father Christmas, who puts the presents under the tree.
She manages to do this, the ad explains, by using her credit card to pay for luxury goods that she otherwise might not be able to afford.

Under fire: A Littlewoods TV ad featuring a nativity play in which children sing a song about how it is 'muvver', and not Father Christmas, who puts the presents under the tree has angered parents
Hundreds of viewers have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about the advert, saying it has caused their children distress by revealing that Father Christmas does not exist.
Hundreds more have signed a Facebook petition calling for it to be axed.

The little boy every mother wants for Christmas: So is the 7-year-old star of THAT John Lewis advert as adorable in real life?

Despite this, a spokesman for the ASA said the advert does not breach advertising codes meaning they have no power to act.
He said: 'After careful consideration, the ASA has decided that, as the ad did not make reference to Father Christmas or suggest Father Christmas did not exist, it was unlikely to cause distress to children and therefore we won’t be launching an investigation.'
Fury: Hundreds of viewers have complained to the Advertising Standards Authority about the advert, saying it has caused their children distress by revealing that Father Christmas does not exist
Angry parents have inundated the comments sections of Facebook and YouTube to protest against the commercial.
Writing on the ad's YouTube page, BlackEyedPeasCool said: 'Thanks Littlewoods for letting all the magic of Santa be trashed in 41 seconds. When should I expect a representative from Littlewoods at my house to explain to my three-year-old that Santa isn't real.'
Gdfabpic added: 'This ad should be banned. Shame on you Littlewoods, especially as we're going through tough times. Putting such pressure on parents who struggle as it is to keep jobs and make ends meet.'
But a Littlewoods spokesman has defended the advert as representing various 'Christmas traditions'.

He said: 'We would never want to suggest that Santa doesn’t exist.“We’re sorry to hear there have been some concerns about our advert.
'We carried out a lot of research and found families have different Christmas traditions. Some families told us that Santa puts the presents in the stocking while family and friends place gifts under the tree.
Hundreds more people have signed a Facebook page petitioning for the ad to be scrapped

'Others said that Santa brings most of the presents but mum and dad do buy some presents for the children as well as the gifts for the rest of the family. We like to think of Christmas as a team effort.
'The advert has now been seen over 40million times and we have only received complaints from a very tiny percentage of viewers.'
The reaction to the Littlewoods ad is in stark contrast to a John Lewis seasonal commercial that has been dubbed 'one of the greatest ever'.

In the 90-second advert, a seven-year-old boy is shown impatiently counting down the days for Christmas morning to arrive. When it finally does, the little boy doesn’t rush to open his own presents, but instead dashes to fetch the gift he has for his parents.

I learned about Krampus from my German class in high school. Kids in Germany apparently were afraid that Krampus would beat them if they weren't good. The germans also had another Santa like figure called the Kristkind  or Christ Child. Who would set up the tree and deck it with gifts below for all to see on X-mas. The Kristkind would always look like a beautiful woman angel with wings, not like Jesus if you were wondering. This pagan holiday has morphed so many times over the years...

From what I understand, churches didn't even celebrate this pagan holiday before the 20th century.

Which is why it disappoints me that even some of these discernment ministries(which I listen to and read, and even recommend to others) celebrate this pagan holiday themselves(when they should know full well it came out of Rome, the very pagan entity-Roman Catholic Church-they expose on a regular basis).

and those same ministries defend it to the end, and scorn the very Christians that won't celebrate it. I've been waitressing part-time and many people come in on Easter/Christmas Eve/Mothers Day ect. even just on Sundays and try to make me feel bad when i don't celebrate those things. Like i'm some sort of lesser Christian or something. They get so 'holier than thou' ...it's sickening that they are so decieved

Over the years having being a churchianity building goer...pretty much, every Sunday, it seems, we were all conditioned to look down on those that do not attend church on Sundays. So ultimately, it was as if whenever we would go to the grocery store on a fast-food restaurant after church on Sundays(being dressed up in our nice church outfits), there was alot of a sense of PRIDE flowing in our veins, looking down on those we saw that were dressed up in regular clothes doing nothing else that day. Make no mistake, I was VERY guilty too of this as well.

Pride goeth before a fall...God gives grace to the humble but bringeth down the proud...

I know you are right. But sometimes, in my line of work, it is hard not to say something to them. To warn them. To tell the the truth of the Word. If i did, i know i could get fired, as i could anywhere saying something about The Bible.

i know it is hard, but it is whether we obey God or obey man.

Acts 5:
28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us.
29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to OBEY GOD rather than men.

1Jn 2:23  Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
1Jn 2:24  Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
1Jn 2:25  And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
1Jn 2:26  These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
1Jn 2:27  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
1Jn 2:28  And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
1Jn 2:29  If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
