"Little children, it is the last time:"

18   Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.

I'm glad you brought this up - was just paying close attention in particular to verse 19-

19   They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would [no doubt] have continued with us: but [they went out], that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Is this also in light of what happened over the last 12-24 hours? I don't want to bring up the whole issue again here, but is this another way to spot antichrists? Let's say those that were among us for a time being didn't want to be rebuked, corrected, were stubborn in their own ways, and then snapped and went off?(and doing it for like the 2nd time now)

Personally, I view antichrist as just that - those who deny Jesus is the Son of God(and of course THE antichrist will emerge potentially very, very soon). But in light of events happening in recent hours...

Yeah, I think it's appropriate for recent events. We know that there is nothing hidden that won't be revealed, so it's no surprise when evil reveals itself. The light of Jesus exposes it eventually. This is why it's important to be sound in our understanding and paying attention to what others promote, which is I believe trying the spirits. I guess one could say it is one aspect of the antichrist spirit.

I also really like those verses because of from verse 20 on, which speaks in detail about how the Holy Ghost works. Verse 27 is one of the main verses I believe shows us to not pay much attention to men and their personal words, just pay attention to how they use the Word of God. My words, man;s words, are just that, words with no life in them. The Word of God is life, and it explains how God uses the Spirit in us, and through us, but it is not us, it's all God's Spirit dwelling in us.

It also shows us how one is "sealed" by the Spirit, showing us that salvation is forever and cannot be lost. Look at verse 24. THat verse is saying how it happens. Then look at verse 27. THAT is the proof right there. Scripture says right there that the anointing abides in us, thus, we have moved beyond verse 24, and are now indwelled by the Spirit, the "anointing ye have received of him". THAT says we HAVE received that anointing, and we will abide in Him.

And lastly, look at verse 28. Think about that for a moment. How can a person stand before God without shame and in confidence? Especially if one thinks after being saved they are still sinning? If there is no law, there is no sin, and where no sin is, there is no guilt, and without guilt, one is confident.

The enemy says that we are guilty of sin, constantly accusing us. God says we are without sin, because of what He did through His Son Jesus Christ.

We truly are free from the law of sin and death. Thank you Jesus!
