Gov. Rick Scott: No ‘Stand Your Ground’ law special session

Florida Gov. Rick Scott met with protesters who have been camping out in the state Capitol on Thursday night, but he said he will not call a special session to change Stand Your Ground laws in the state.

The group of young people and students, called the Dream Defenders, entered their fourth day of their campout on Friday, calling for a special session in the wake of the death of Trayvon Martin.

After meeting with six of the representatives, Scott released a statement saying he had spoken that evening with Martin’s mother and called for a statewide day of prayer on Sunday. But he did not agree to a special session.

“Tonight, the protesters again asked that I call a special session of the Legislature to repeal Florida’s Stand Your Ground law. I told them that I agree with the Task Force on Citizen Safety and Protection, which concurred with the law. I also reminded them of their right to share their views with their state legislators and let them know their opinions on the law,” Scott said in his statement.

I knew it seemed like Obama was doing something like Friday prayer fire up at the local mosque

Iran’s Mullahs Demand Justice for Trayvon

Iran’s Foreign Ministry criticizes acquittal of George Zimmerman

morons, bet they think he is an Israeli Jew  Roll Eyes

Iran’s foreign ministry on Friday criticized the acquittal of George Zimmerman and chastised the United States for widespread “racial discrimination.”

“The acquittal of the murderer of the teenage African American once again clearly demonstrated the unwritten, but systematic racial discrimination against racial, religious, and ethnic minorities in the US society,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Seyed Abbas Araqchi was quoted as saying by Iran’s state run Fars News Agency.

“The court ruling has also seriously put under question the fairness of the judicial process in the United States,” Fars reported Araqchi as saying.

Iranian officials said that Zimmerman’s trial for the murder of Trayvon Martin should have been conducted in a more “accurate and fair” manner.

“Several months on since a probe was launched [into the murder], the public opinion in the U.S. and across the world expect transparency, an accurate and fair judicial investigation into the case, with due regard to human rights principles for American citizens and a ban on discrimination against minorities in the country,” Araqchi said.

Fars reported that the Iranian “public views the court ruling as a follow-up to similar incidents such as the suspicious murder of the grandson of former African American Muslim leader Malcolm X, which the U.S. judicial system failed to probe,” according to the report.

Iran’s calls for justice came as a surprise to U.S. observers, who pointed out that the Iranian regime is notorious for beating opposition members, arresting journalists, stoning women to death, and publicly executing homosexual teenagers.

An Iranian woman, for instance, was ordered to be stoned to death in July 2010.

The regime also initiated a widespread crackdown on opposition forces in the lead up to its most recent elections, which international observers cited for being neither free nor fair.

Political prisoners in Iran have even attempted to commit suicide as a result of their abusive treatment.

Religious minorities, such as Christians and Jews, also have been arrested or worse.

As an Islamic state that operates under strict Sharia law, Iran has been known to engage in the cruel punishment of criminals.

Some have had arms or legs amputated for petty crimes, while other have been stoned to death.

Iran also leads the world in child executions, according to Amnesty International, which published a report entitled, “Iran: The Last Executioner of Children.”

Iran has also arrested children and imprisoned them until they turn 18, at which point them are killed, according to Amnesty. Iran killed eight children in 2005.

Former Pentagon adviser Michael Rubin called Iran’s criticism of the Zimmerman trial ridiculous.

“You’ve got to have some sympathy for the poor Foreign Ministry spokesman,” Runin said. “This is probably the first time he had to wait for a verdict before writing his statement which is why it took him almost a week to issue it.”

“Now that the Zimmerman verdict condemnation is out of the way, though, maybe [Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister] Seyed Abbas Araqchi can start penning his condemnations of all the verdicts issued by Iranian kangaroo courts for such troubling crimes as free speech, free association, and free practice of religion,” Rubin said.

The Charlie Daniels Band Aftermath - Soapbox 07/19/13 .

 The Charlie Daniels Band
 Aftermath - Soapbox 07/19/13

The Trayvon Martin killing was a tragedy that, as far as I'm concerned, never should have happened. It was a classic case of really bad judgment on the part of both the involved individuals, with Zimmerman following Trayvon when he shouldn't have and Martin attacking Zimmerman when he shouldn't have and both men responsible for painting themselves into one of those tight corners where somebody has to be hurt.

But the case, as tragic as it was, was made many times worse by an irresponsible media and civil rights leaders who exploited it for whatever ink and TV face time they could get out of it.

In the time that the Zimmerman trial was going on there were sixty-one murders in Chicago, forty-three of them were black males and seven of those black males were under the age of 18, most of them died from gunshot wounds, all violent, all senseless. Do Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson just not care as much about the black male population of Chicago or is it that they just can't garner as much media attention there?

Speaking of media attention, a young white couple, students at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, was carjacked, raped, tortured and murdered.

The young man, Christopher Newsome, was raped and beaten, then castrated, shot, his body dumped by train tracks and set on fire while his girlfriend, Channon Christian, was forced to watch.

Channon was gang raped over a period of days, her breasts cut off while she was still alive, then had cleaning fluid sprayed in her mouth in an attempt to erase the traces of DNA and her body put into a garbage receptacle.

Maybe you're wondering why you haven't heard about this inhuman crime, perhaps you think your local paper didn’t had time to cover it yet.

I seriously doubt that, since the crime took place in August of 2006, and of your local news outlets, most probably never covered it. I live about 150 miles from where it took place and, to the everlasting shame of networks and the local news media I didn't hear about it either until somebody brought my attention to it on the internet.

How could a crime this heinous, this inhuman, this completely evil escape the notice of the mass media and the talking heads who are always screaming for equal justice under the law?

Simple, it doesn't fit their agenda, the perpetrators were all black, all five of them. If this wasn't a case of blatant racism, I truly don't know what is. Do you honestly believe there wasn't racial bias involved in the choosing of the victims and the malicious violence that was done to them, and yet this story, one of the most hideous murders of the decade, was not covered by the media and was completely ignored by the so called civil rights leaders of all colors.

A dangerous precedent has been set by Eric Holder's Justice Department and aided and abetted by the mainstream American media, selective prosecution and selective journalism all calculated to push a political agenda that drives the races in this nation farther apart every day.

No good will come from Al Sharpton calling for demonstrations around the nation, already a group of blacks have beaten a random Hispanic citizen claiming, "This is for Trayvon".

What's the difference in this and what the KKK was doing a few short decades ago. Is this what Sharpton and his ilk want to see happen, anarchy in the name of prejudice? Isn’t that very thing what he's supposed to be fighting against?

America cannot continue down this path and remain the land of the free and the home of the brave where all men are equal under the law.

America desperately needs a president who is a uniter, not a divider, a Justice Department that actually wants to enforce the law equally, regardless of color or race, a Congress and Senate who could reclaim their testicles and a media which reports the news instead of trying to make it.

Blind hate is blind hate no matter what color it comes in.

I will not be a part of it.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America

Charlie Daniels

Zimmerman’s brother responds: Obama’s statement reinforced ‘mythology surrounding the case’

Robert Zimmerman Jr., the brother of George Zimmerman, responded quickly Friday after President Obama’s surprise statement about the Trayvon Martin case.

“The president is reinforcing much of the mythology surrounding the case,” Zimmerman told The Daily Caller via phone immediately following the President’s afternoon statement.

While he disagreed with Obama’s characterization of some of the facts of the case, he agreed that much work needs to be done to improve the lot of black youth across the country.

President Obama said in the press conference, “When Trayvon Martin was first shot, I said that this could have been my son. Another way of saying that is Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago.”

The President said that the nation must address the problems faced by young black males.

“We need to spend some time in thinking about how do we bolster and reinforce our African-American boys,” he said, adding that he and First Lady Michelle Obama often discuss the issue.

Zimmerman Jr. told TheDC that his brother was doing exactly what the president suggested well before he encountered Trayvon Martin in February 2012.

“George is a Hispanic man who was mentoring two African American children before the incident,” Zimmerman recalled. He told The DC that the father of those children is serving a life sentence in prison. “It goes without saying that African Americans are overrepresented in the criminal justice system, and I think George was trying to break that cycle.”

“I can’t think of a better way to encourage children than to take the time to show them that they matter as people and, more importantly to society at large,” than engaging in mentoring roles, said Zimmerman Jr.

The President acknowledged that Florida’s Stand Your Ground law did not necessarily apply in the Zimmerman case, but he addressed Stand Your Ground laws in his unscripted remarks.

“And for those who resist that idea that we should think about something like these ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws, I just ask people to consider, if Trayvon Martin was of age and armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk?”

Zimmerman Jr. told TheDC that “the scenario [the President] laid out was ambiguous.”

Florida governor Rick Scott, a Republican, held a prayer vigil on Thursday with a group called the Dream Defenders. That group hopes to get Stand Your Ground repealed, but Scott has said that he has no plans to repeal the law.

To avoid trouble stay away from these Al Sharpton Unrest areas.

This is the latest list of locations for the Trayvon Martin protests against white gun owners, American courts, jury verdicts, and the Rule of Law.

All Americans please avoid these areas on Saturday July 20 as the likelihood of violence and property destruction are very high based on events like these seen in several states!

list of all the sites: http://www.saveamericafoundation.com/2013/07/19/to-avoid-trouble-stay-away-from-these-al-sharpton-unrest-areas/

Yeah, this one was craftily orchestrated for who knows how long...

Trayvon Martin's parents, brother to participate in 100-vigil day

Civil rights advocates — including Trayvon Martin's parents and brother — will attend vigils Saturday calling on the Justice Department to ramp up its investigation into the George Zimmerman case.

The gatherings at federal courts and government centers in about 100 cities from New York to Los Angeles were organized by the Rev. Al Sharpton, head of the National Action Network and host of an MSNBC show, after Zimmerman's acquittal on state charges last weekend.

Zimmerman was found not guilty of second-degree murder by a Florida jury on Saturday night. The Justice Department says it has an "open investigation" into the Feb. 26, 2012, shooting, but Sharpton has called for a more "aggressive" probe into whether Zimmerman violated Martin's civil rights.

McCain joins Obama in calling for review of 'Stand Your Ground' laws
who isnt surprised at that one?  Roll Eyes

A top Republican joined President Barack Obama's call to review so-called "Stand Your Ground" laws in the aftermath of the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the 2012 shooting of black teen Trayvon Martin.

Sen. John McCain, Ariz., a prominent Republican who's been known to break ranks with fellow members of the GOP at times, urged state legislatures to review Stand Your Ground laws in the wake of the Zimmerman trial, which became a national flashpoint for race relations in America.

"I can also see that Stand Your Ground laws may be something that needs to be reviewed by the Florida legislature or any other legislature that has passed such legislation," McCain said on CNN.

Asked whether his home state legislature should consider revising its own similar law, McCain said yes.

"I think that, yes, I do, and I'm confident that the members of the Arizona legislature will because it is a very controversial legislation," he said.

Stand Your Ground laws refer to a legal doctrine in some states where an individual is permitted to use force in the name of self-defense without having to necessarily try to retreat from a confrontation. Though Zimmerman did not cite the theory in his successful defense against murder charges in the Martin shooting, Stand Your Ground laws have come under scrutiny because of concerns that these laws might give rise to similar violent confrontations.

In extended and personal remarks about the Zimmerman trial and race, Obama on Friday joined the chorus of political leaders suggesting a review of Stand Your Ground laws is in order.

"And for those who resist that idea that we should think about something like these 'Stand Your Ground' laws, I'd just ask people to consider, if Trayvon Martin was of age and armed, could he have stood his ground on that sidewalk?" Obama asked. "And if the answer to that question is at least ambiguous, then it seems to me that we might want to examine those kinds of laws."

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, blasted Obama for those comments during a speech this weekend in Iowa, a traditional stomping ground for candidates eyeing their own future bid for the presidency.

“It is not surprising that the president uses, it seems, every opportunity that he can to go after our Second Amendment right to bear arms," Cruz said Friday, according to an account by CNN.

McCain on Sunday chided Cruz — a senator with whom he has sometimes clashed — suggesting that he didn't share the Texas senator's suspicions.

"Isn't this time for us to try to come together? Isn't it time for America to come together in light of several weeks of what is really exacerbating relations between elements of our society? I'd rather have a message of coming together and discussing these issues rather than condemning," McCain said. " I just respect his view, but I don't frankly see the connection."

Obama's comments about Stand Your Ground and race continued to reverberate on Sunday, as African American leaders pondered the significance of the president's surprise remarks on Friday.

Rep. Marcia Fudge, D-Ohio, the chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus, said on NBC's Meet the Press that she was "very proud" of the president's remarks.

But she also said that black Americans are "being attacked from so many sides" in politics, citing cuts to food stamp programs passed recently by the GOP-held House of Representatives, or the Supreme Court's recent decision gutting parts of the landmark Voting Rights Act.

"I don't care how many laws you put on the table," she said. "You cannot legislate against prejudice or bias or racism."

Obama's remarks about race didn't satisfy everybody, though. Pundit Tavis Smiley argued that Obama had essentially been pushed into delivering remarks about the Trayvon Martin case, and should have been more active in speaking about race after the Zimmerman verdict.

"This is not Libya; this is America," said Smiley on Meet the Press. "On this issue, you cannot lead from behind."

McCain joins Obama in calling for review of 'Stand Your Ground' laws
who isnt surprised at that one?  Roll Eyes

Yep, McCain played a big role in helping Obama getting elected in 2008, albeit doing so as his "opponent".

McCain: Obama's Trayvon Comments 'Very Impressive'
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/07/21/McCain-Trayvon-Martin-impressive
7/21/13

On Sunday, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) appeared on CNN’s State of the Union, where he called President Obama’s Friday comments on Trayvon Martin and race “very impressive.” He said, “I think we should continue to make progress,” but added that “we still have a long way to go,” even as he declined to “second guess” the verdict in the George Zimmerman case.

McCain stated that “we were probably too optimistic” about race relations in the aftermath of the election of the country’s first black president. “I think old prejudices die hard,” McCain said. ‘We have made significant progress, but I think recent events highlight the differences that remain.” McCain also said he believed that “Stand Your Ground” laws should be reconsidered in light of the Martin case, despite the fact that “Stand Your Ground” was never invoked by Zimmerman and he was acquitted on grounds of self-defense.

David Brooks is a "conservative" columnist, FYI.

http://dailycaller.com/2013/07/21/david-brooks-calls-obamas-race-speech-one-of-the-highlights-of-the-presidency/
David Brooks calls Obama’s race speech ‘one of the highlights of the presidency’

On Sunday’s broadcast of “Meet the Press” on NBC, New York Times columnist David Brooks gushed over President Barack Obama’s speech on race in the wake of the George Zimmerman verdict a week earlier.

“It seemed superficially unimportant, but it’s important to remember race is his first subject, as it would be if you had a black father and a white mother,” Brooks said. “And all the mental habits, he breached all the other issues, grow out of the way he framed race and the way he started thinking about race — his tendency to do, ‘On the one hand, on the other,’ his desire to reconcile opposites, his ability to see different points of view. All the stuff we’ve come to see him apply to every other issue, it started with race.  And I thought this speech was one of the highlights of the presidency.”

Brooks said the speech had all the components one would expect for such an occasion.

“I thought it was a symphony of indignation, professionalism, executive responsibility, personal feeling,” Brooks said. “It had all these different things woven together, I thought beautifully.  But it’s important to remember, race is how he thinks.”

Republican Michael Steele Compares Trayvon Case to Sandy Hook

Both are examples where Obama should have led changes to the law, he said

7/21/13

Former RNC chair Michael Steele likened Sandy Hook to the Trayvon Martin case during a heated discussion on NBC's Meet the Press on Sunday.

He likened the two as incidents that should have inspired legislative change, but didn't because Obama failed to lead. So while he didn't compare the two as events of the same magnitude, his comparison does suggests that the correct response to nationally-distressing crimes is to change the law.

Steele's comments arose in a discussion of Obama's Friday speech on the Trayvon case. Co-panelist Marc Morial said that Obama's comments should start the discussion that will lead to "serious action steps by the nation."

Steele responded that Obama hadn't acted quickly enough and has failed to lead on the Trayvon case as much as on Sandy Hook. He's used both incidents to call for political change, but he failed to do it effectively:

Quote
MICHAEL STEELE: But that's the key piece, the discussion that starts and ends quickly. I hearken back to the gun debate, and the president bootstrapped the gun argument with his initial comments the day of the jury verdict in a way that was disconnected. And if you look at the momentum behind that discussion, coming off of Sandy Hook, and the raw emotion from the American people saying, "We want something done here. Let's move on this."

What happened? The discussion dissipated. Then this was something that the president came out again and heralded, but then let the steam fall out of it.

Lawmakers on the Black Congressional are drafting a bill to address racial profiling and overturn Stand Your Ground laws in states. But as with the post-Newtown background check bill, their legislation is unlikely to become law.

Sometimes truth an be stranger than fiction... Undecided

George Zimmerman Emerged From Hiding for Truck Crash Rescue
By MATT GUTMAN and ALEXIS SHAW | Good Morning America – 7/22/13

George Zimmerman, who has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin, emerged to help rescue a family who was trapped in an overturned vehicle, police said today.

Zimmerman was one of two men who came to the aid of a family of four -- two parents and two children -- trapped inside a blue Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over after traveling off the highway in Sanford, Fla. at approximately 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The crash occurred at the intersection of I-4 and route Route 46, police said. The crash site is less than a mile from where Zimmerman shot Martin.

By the time police arrived, two people - including Zimmerman - had already helped the family get out of the overturned car, the sheriff's office said. No one was reported to be injured.

Zimmerman was not a witness to the crash and left after speaking with the deputy, police said.

It's the first known sighting of Zimmerman since he left the courtroom following his acquittal last week on murder charges for the death of Martin. Zimmerman, 29, shot and killed Martin, 17, in Sanford, Fla., on Feb. 26, 2012. The jury determined that Zimmerman shot Martin in self-defense.

The acquittal prompted dozens of protests across the country this past weekend and his lawyers have said that Zimmerman has been the subject of death threats. His lawyers said Zimmerman has been wearing a bullet-proof vest when he ventures out in public.

Zimmerman's parents told ABC News' Barbara Walters they too have received death threats and have been unable to return to their home.

"We have had an enormous amount of death threats. George's legal counsel has had death threats, the police chief of Sanford, many people have had death threats," Zimmerman's father, Robert Zimmerman said."'Everyone with Georgie's DNA should be killed' -- just every kind of horrible thing you can imagine."

An indication of the animosity toward Zimmerman is the number of threatening phone calls being received by a woman in Winter Park, Fla.

Lori Tankel told ABCNews.com that someone had incorrectly posted her cell phone number online thinking it was Zimmerman's. She said she started receiving threatening calls within an hour after the jury had reached a verdict on July 13.

"They were saying things like, 'Zimmerman? Is this George? We're going to get you, we're going to kill you,'" she said.

Her cell phone number is only one digit off from Zimmerman's, she said.

Tankel said she received at least 80 phone calls within one day of the jury's not guilty verdict. While the threats died down during the week, she said they ramped right back up again on Friday and continued through the weekend.

"Those phone calls were extremely malicious," she said. "I think at that point, they kind of knew it wasn't George Zimmerman's number, but they were still going to harass me."

Tankel said she initially reported the threatening calls to the the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, but was told to follow up with law enforcement in Orange County, Fla., where she lives, to file a report, she said.

But Tankel she said she won't be changing her number anytime soon.

"I'm a sales representative for several different horse-related companies, and I have five states in my territory," she said. "To change business cards and contact everybody, it's not that simple."

Teen indicted in Ga. baby slaying and 2nd shooting

A Georgia teenager shot a 13-month-old baby in the face while trying to rob the child's mother, according to an indictment returned Wednesday that also charged the suspect with shooting another person in an unrelated robbery attempt earlier this month.

The indictment by a Glynn County grand jury charges 17-year-old De'Marquise Elkins on nine counts, including malice murder, in the slaying last Thursday of young Antonio Santiago a few blocks from his home in coastal Brunswick.

Another suspect, a 15-year-old, was indicted on seven counts including felony murder. But the indictment specifies that authorities believe it was Elkins who shot the child and wounded his mother with a .22-caliber revolver as the boys tried to steal money from her.

District Attorney Jackie Johnson of the Brunswick Judicial Circuit said in a statement Thursday she would not seek the death penalty against either suspect because Georgia law doesn't allow capital punishment for defendants charged with crimes committed before they were 18. Both teens are charged as adults.

Elkins was also indicted on two counts in a second attempted robbery and shooting that happened 10 days before the baby was slain. On March 11, according to the indictment, Elkins tried to rob a person identified as Wilfredo Calix-Flores, pointing a gun at him while demanding his cellphone and wallet. Elkins shot Calix-Flores in the arm with the same caliber revolver used to kill the baby 10 days later, the indictment says. He is charged with attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Kevin Gough, a public defender representing Elkins, said he felt prosecutors rushed to indict his client before collecting all available evidence. Gough had asked a judge for a preliminary hearing next week to determine if prosecutors had sufficient evidence to charge Elkins. The indictment means a grand jury has already made that determination and Elkins' attorneys won't get an early look at the evidence against him.

"It's a major setback in the sense we would like to have an opportunity to test the strength of the evidence against our client," Gough said.

Kimberly L. Copeland, an attorney for the 15-year-old suspect, said she planned a vigorous defense but had no further comment.

"I believe in the innocence of my client," Copeland said.

The few details contained in the indictment seem to back up the story the slain baby's mother, Sherry West, has repeated to numerous reporters: She was pushing her baby in a stroller as she walked home from the post office when two youths approached asking for money. West says when she refused, the older teen drew a gun and shot her in the leg before shooting her son in the head.

Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering told reporters Wednesday before the indictment was returned that investigators believe the crime was random — something police hadn't said previously.

"We're comfortable now, six days into it, to say the location of the incident and the victim were random," Doering said. "I don't have any information that shows otherwise."

The grand jury also indicted three of Elkins' relatives on charges that they tried to help him after the shootings.

The suspect's mother, Karimah Elkins, and older sister, Sabrina Elkins, were charged with evidence tampering. The indictment says they threw the revolver that police suspect was used in the shooting into a saltwater pond where investigators recovered it Tuesday. Doering said the gun is being tested to see if it can be linked to the child's slaying.

Karimah Elkins and the suspect's aunt, Katrina Elkins, were also charged with making false statements to police. The indictment says the aunt told investigators her nephew was at her house when the slaying occurred — which she also told The Associated Press and other news outlets. It says the suspect's mother told police that her son was with her when the baby was shot.

Elkins' public defender has said he strongly believes his client is innocent. Gough has filed a court motion asking a judge to grant him access to mental health records of the slain boy's mother, saying they could be important to determining whether she's a credible witness.

"Obviously we're concerned about her credibility her ability to accurately recall events and identify anybody," Gough said. "If she suffers from any conditions that would do that, it would certainly be relevant to the case."

Family Rescued by George Zimmerman Backs Out of News Conference
7/24/13

The family rescued by George Zimmerman when they were trapped in an overturned SUV canceled a scheduled news conference today and is pleading for privacy.

Zimmerman was one of two men who came to the aid of Dana and Mark Gerstle and their two children, who were trapped inside a blue Ford Explorer SUV that had rolled over after traveling off the highway in Sanford, Fla., about 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Seminole County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

The Gerstles were expected to hold a press conference today at the office of Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Mara, but cancelled a few hours before it was supposed to take place.

"They have expressed to us that they are not comfortable doing media interviews at this time and they continue to ask for privacy," the Seminole City Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

Zimmerman's lawyer, Mark O'Mara, said the family had asked to speak, but then got concerned about the anger surrounding the controversial verdict.

"The family called because they wanted to address the media. I knew that if we did it in an organized way, it would help them get back to a normal life.. But they called today and said they were more worried about blow back from saying anything that would be favorable to George, and decided they did not want to do any media," Zimmerman said.

The family could not be reached for comment.

Zimmerman has been in hiding since he was acquitted of murder in the death of Trayvon Martin and his acquittal prompted a flood of negative reactions and dozens of protests across the country. Zimmerman as well as his parents have received death threats.

Mistaken identity brings threats to Pastor Zimmermann

George A. Zimmermann, a retired pastor in Florida, has received death threats meant for the man acquitted in the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin

Death threats were the last type of phone calls George A. Zimmermann, 78, thought he'd get after serving for 55 years as his Pennsylvania community's preacher.

And he never thought he'd be mistaken for the man headlining news these days: George Zimmerman, the Sanford, Fla., neighborhood watch volunteer acquitted in the fatal shooting of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin in February 2012.

Zimmermann, 78, retired to Deland, Fla., 16 years ago from his post at Georgetown United Methodist Church in Paradise, Pa. He says his time in Florida had been relatively peaceful and uneventful – until the phone calls began trickling in.

According to Zimmermann, he started receiving the calls immediately after Zimmerman (with one n), 29, shot the teenager.

"In the beginning, I received four or five calls," Zimmermann says. "I'd say, 'Hey, you got the wrong person. I don't live in Sanford.' And then it stopped."

Until the first night of the trial.

On June 25, Zimmermann was awakened by two calls in the middle of the night from protesters, although he says they were tame in comparison with the one he received July 14, a day after the verdict was reached.

"Hey (expletive), you're the one who killed Trayvon Martin, when your (expletive) get out, you're dead," the caller said in a message left on the answering machine. "Wherever you go, you're dead. Wherever you're trying to hide, you're dead. Watch your (expletive) move. You think you're free. You're not. You better get ready to dig a 6-foot hole, cause you know you're fixing to go," according to a report by Daytona news station WFVT.

Zimmermann, who was not home at the time of the call, recorded the message on his answering machine. He reported the incident to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.

"I know they're venting their emotions, but I had no idea that my name would create such a hassle," he says.

Zimmermann says a couple of the calls he's received have been from out-of-state numbers, but more have been from Florida. He has changed his phone number, and since July 14, he has not received any more intimidating calls.

"They're just shooting in the dark," Zimmermann says. "It doesn' t make sense – I'm in a different town.

"But I guess when you're upset you do things without rationally thinking about it," he said.

Since Trayvon was killed, a number of individuals with unintentional ties to Zimmerman have been accosted in similar cases of mistaken identity:

• A Florida man who had never owned a cellphone before being released from prison in May 2012 was randomly assigned the number Zimmerman was using when he called 911 the night he killed Trayvon. Junior Alexander Guy, then 49, received multiple intimidating phone calls before changing his number.

• Lori Tankel of Winter Park, Fla., was forced to change her number after receiving nearly 100 calls from protesters assuming she was Zimmerman, reports Florida news station WFTV. Her cellphone number was one digit removed from Zimmerman's old number.

• Although he lived thousands of miles away from Sanford, Jorge Zimmerman of Cumberland, R.I., received nearly half a dozen or so angry messages sent to his Facebook page from individuals accusing him of murdering Trayvon, says Rhode Island news station WPRI. He has deactivated his Facebook account.

Trayvon Martin’s Dad Is A ‘Grand Master’ Freemason
July 13, 2013

Here’s something you certainly won’t hear about in the mainstream media despite the 24/7 coverage of the Trayvon Martin case which may generate riots: Trayvon Martin’s dad is a ‘Grand Master’ Freemason. More to come on what this means and the occult history of Freemasonry, but for now here is this fact displayed in video form using images that I’ve compiled through user tips and investigation.

I’d love to give credit for the Facebook screenshots and share further details on the subject, so please get in contact via News Tips if you were responsible and have further information.

George Zimmerman Juror Says He 'Got Away With Murder'
http://abcnews.go.com/US/george-zimmerman-juror-murder/story?id=19770659
7/25/13

The only minority on the all-female jury that voted to acquit George Zimmerman said today that Zimmerman "got away with murder" for killing Trayvon Martin and feels she owes an apology Martin's parents.

"You can't put the man in jail even though in our hearts we felt he was guilty," said the woman who was identified only as Juror B29 during the trial. "But we had to grab our hearts and put it aside and look at the evidence."

She said the jury was following Florida law and the evidence, she said, did not prove murder.

Black man in hoodie stabs white girl 11 times
'She came home from work, and her body was full of holes'

Police in New York City are trying to find a black man wearing a hoodie who is responsible for a horrific attack on a teenage white girl who was stabbed 11 times just steps from her front door.

The knife-wielding maniac ambushed Natasha Martinez, 17, as she returned home from working her shift at a local McDonald’s restaurant.

Hearing her daughter’s screams, Natasha’s mother, Wendy Martinez, came running outside — and the bloodthirsty attacker fled.

“She came home from work, and her body was full of holes,” Wendy Martinez told the New York Daily News.

“I was holding her because she was going to fall. Her face was turning white, and I slapped her. I was telling her, ‘You have to stay alive.’”

The teen is recovering at Jamaica Hospital, in the borough of Queens, after undergoing surgery for stab wounds to her back, arms, stomach and kidney. Doctors had to remove a vein from her leg and put it in her arm. Her mother describes her condition as “really bad.”

“This is so difficult,” said Natasha’s mom. “You raise your child, take care of them since they were a baby, and then something like this happens.”

Several neighbors said they heard Natasha’s screams the night of the attack.

“I think she was screaming help or something,” witness Christopher Lopez told WCBS-TV.

“Then all of a sudden, I heard the screams get louder and I said, ‘Let me take a look,’” said witness Teddy Betancourt, “and it was the girl’s mother, holding her up, screaming — looked like she passed out.”

Many in the neighborhood were unaware of the attack until police knocked on their doors.

“It’s not a violent environment,” neighbor Edwin Martinez told the TV station. “You know, people don’t get stabbed and shot here. It’s a nice neighborhood.”
Cops are still looking for the assailant. They recovered a bloody kitchen knife with a 6-inch blade in the building’s vestibule.

“We don’t have an arrest, and we don’t have a motive at this juncture,” Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said.

Kelly said investigators were also looking at video from Monday to see if the suspect may have started following Martinez from McDonald’s or a nearby sandwich shop where she stopped to eat before heading home.

Kelly told WNBC-TV police are also looking into the possibility the attack is connected to another mysterious stabbing of a woman in front of her home in Queens in June.

A 36-year-old woman on her way to work early in the morning was stabbed seven times.

A man wearing a hooded sweatshirt was seen running from the scene in that attack. Police released surveillance video of the possible hoodie-wearing suspect in the attack on Martinez.

The victims in both cases survived with critical injuries.

“We’re looking at similarities between this and an event that happened in Queens, Kelly told the TV station. “We’re seeing if it’s a pattern here.”

2The 2:10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

Charlie Rangel: Tea Party Is ‘Same Group’ Of ‘White Crackers’ Who Fought Civil Rights

In an interview with the Daily Beast published Friday, Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) suggested Tea Partiers are the "same group" who fought for segregation during the Civil Rights movement.

“It is the same group we faced in the South with those white crackers and the dogs and the police. They didn’t care about how they looked," Rangel said.

Because of this, Rangel said the Tea Party could be defeated using the same tactics employed against Jim Crow.

"It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break,” said Rangel.
