It states: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

With all this talk of people must be baptized in water, or sprinkled with water, the first question that needs asking is, did Jesus baptize anyone?

No.

Jeus did not baptize a single person by either sprinkling (catholic invention I'd say), or by emersion, dunking fully under water. Not a single person. Think about that, then read what Jesus says about baptism.

Consider this...

3   To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:
4 ¶ And, being assembled together with [them], commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, [saith he], ye have heard of me.
5   For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:3-5 (KJB)

1   And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2   He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3   And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4   Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5   When they heard [this], they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6   And when Paul had laid [his] hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7   And all the men were about twelve.
Acts 19:1-7 (KJB)

^^

I was thinking the same thing as I was reading the passages you posted above - these aren't the only passages in the NT that talk about being baptized(but NOT with water).

Seriously - throughout my own personal experiences with the whole water baptism thing in Churchianity, these people(including myself then) don't go through this water baptism ceremony until WEEKS AFTER(or even up to a year after) they get saved. I mean what in the world is all that about? They get saved, they are given the gift of the Holy Ghost, they are given promise of eternal life, but they have to wait weeks/months later to get water baptized b/c it takes them weeks to "make a long commitment" Huh

Act_2:38  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Joh 14:23  Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Joh 14:24  He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.
Joh 14:25  These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
Joh 14:26  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Joh 14:27  Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid

Good Topic

1 Corinthians 1:
13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name.
16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
17 For Christ sent me not to BAPTIZE, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

Luke 3:
16 John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed BAPTIZE you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall BAPTIZE you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
17 Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

In these verses it is like well Baptism in water is not that important.

interesting... Let me submit then,

Jhn 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John,
Jhn 4:2   (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

The Lord didnt baptize but his disciples did.

Indeed they did, and Peter denied Jesus 3 times. None of us in practice are doing it correctly. We all fail at it. That's the whole point of the Spirit, to get us through this mess in the flesh. Even Paul knew the point wasn't water baptism, it's all spiritual. If it was important, what does it say about Paul not even remembering if he had baptized people?

What is important, a must for salvation, is baptism by the Holy Ghost, the spiritual baptism, the circumcision of the heart.

That said, I do encourage a water emersion baptism for the person who is coming to the faith as an act of faith to move from being physical to being spiritual. You could say it's their last act of walking after the flesh by doing the ritual baptism in water. But the Holy Ghost is not given as a result of baptism in literal water, but by belief in the Word.

"And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost." John 1:33 (KJB)

21   Then said Jesus to them again, Peace [be] unto you: as [my] Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22   And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
John 20:21,22 (KJB)
