Wild fast food fight after high school football game

It's no secret that football in Texas is a way of life.

A defeat to a high school rival can be just as painful as the Dallas Cowboys losing to the New York Giants.

Two San Antonio-area high school teams met on the field Saturday night, with Brandeis beating O'Connor 12-10 on a last-second field goal.

It's an unwritten tradition in Texas for fans to head to the popular fast food restaurant, Whataburger, following a football game.

But, in this case, when students from both rival schools met there, it got ugly quickly as burgers and fries went flying in the air in a wild food fight.

No word on whether anyone was seriously injured, but Whataburger released a statement following the incident.

"Whataburger shares an enthusiasm for Texas football with our customers, but clearly the rivalry between select students from these two high schools got out of hand, resulting in a 30-second food fight that required our team to close the dining area for 30 minutes to clean up the mess left behind."

First cases of flesh-eating drug Krokodil surface in US

Quote
Krokodil, a flesh-eating drug which first surfaced in Russia more than a decade ago, has reportedly been found in the United States.

Similar to morphine or heroin, krokodil is made by mixing codeine with substances like gasoline, paint thinner, oil or alcohol. That mixture is then injected into a vein, potentially causing an addict's skin to turn greenish, scaly and eventually rot away.

Dr. Frank LoVecchio, co-medical director at Banner Good Samaritan Poison and Drug Information Center in Arizona, told CBS5 that the first two cases of people using the drug have been reported in the state. He declined to comment on the patients' conditions.

"As far as I know, these are the first cases in the United States that are reported," LoVecchio said, adding that the cases are believed to be linked. "So we're extremely frightened."

Users of krokodil — or desomorphine — had previously only been found in large numbers in Russia, where 65 million doses of the opiate were seized during the first three months of 2011, Russia's Federal Drug Control Service told Time.

"This is really frightening," Dr. Aaron Skolnik, a toxicologist at Banner Good Samaritan Poison and Drug Information Center told MyFoxPhoenix.com. "This is something we hoped would never make it to the U.S. because it's so detrimental to the people who use it."

To produce the potentially deadly drug, which has a comparable effect to heroin but is much cheaper to make, users mix codeine with gasoline, paint thinner, iodine, hydrochloric acid and red phosphorous. Codeine, a controlled substance in the United States used to treat mild to moderate pain, is widely available over the counter in Russia.

In 2010, up to a million people, according to various estimates, were injecting the resulting substance into their veins in Russia, thus far the only country worldwide to see it grow into an epidemic, Time reports.

The drug's sinister moniker — also known as crocodile — refers to the greenish and scaly appearance of a user's skin at the site of injection as blood vessels rupture and cause surrounding tissues to die. According to reports, the drug first appeared in Siberia and parts of Russia around 2002, but has spread throughout the country in recent years.

Officials at the Washington-based National Institute on Drug Abuse told FoxNews.com in 2011 that they had not heard of the drug prior to an inquiry by FoxNews.com.

Dr. Ellen Marmur, chief of dermatological and cosmetic surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City, told FoxNews.com in 2011 she had never seen any cases involving krokodil, but said it reminded her of "skin popping," or when intravenous drug users inject a substance directly into their skin due to damaged veins.

"This looks to me a lot like skin popping, what drug users used to do back in the day with heroin and other drugs," Marmur said. "It just kills the skin, that's what you're seeing, big dead pieces of skin."

Those large pieces of dead skin are referred to as eschars, Marmur said, leaving the user prone to infection, amputation and other complications.

Marmur said at the time that she was concerned the drug could eventually make its way into the United States.

"It's horrible," she continued. "These people are the ultimate in self-destructive drug addiction. Once you're an addict at this level, any rational thinking doesn't apply."

Dr. Lewis Nelson, a medical toxicologist at Bellevue Hospital Center in New York, also said in 2011 that he doubted krokodil would reach the United States due to the availability of other cheap, powerful drugs such as black tar heroin and Oxycontin.

"It's not going to become a club drug, I can guarantee you that," he said.

U.S. School Teachers Across Nation Now Moonlighting As
Call Girls (‘Sugar Babies’)

Brandon Wade, the website’s founder and CEO, said the average public school teacher registered on the site is between the ages of 28- and 33-years-old, and asks for approximately $3,000 a month in financial assistance from her sugar daddy. “You can’t expect a teacher to accept less pay for more work than their peers, and then reach into their pockets to fund your child’s classroom,” Wade said in a statement. “But that’s what’s happening. If those are the expectations and pressures we are putting on our teachers in America, than they can’t possibly be judged for whatever extracurricular activities they choose to pursue to stay afloat.”

‘Sugar Daddy’ Dating Sites Say Government Shutdown A Huge Boost To Sign-Ups

An online dating website which bills itself as “The World’s Largest Sugar Daddy Dating Website” says it has recorded a 50 percent jump in average daily sign-ups since the start of the government shutdown.

SeekingArrangement.com claims its traffic has seen a dramatic rise in people seeking “sugar daddy’s,” which Merriam-Webster defines as: “A well-to-do usually older man who supports or spends lavishly on a mistress, girlfriend, or boyfriend.”

Similarly, WhatsYourPrice.com – which allows first-dates to the highest bidder – has reported a similar massive increase in daily signups since last Sunday despite the fall typically being a slow time of year for such financial matching websites.

“We usually have a lull in September and October,” Seeking Arrangement’s public relations manager Jennifer Gwynn told NPR. “For us to peak at the end of the month in September, and this week in general, it makes no sense for us to have a growth like this.”

Loss of funds and a quick-fix for cash from the federal government shutdown are being attributed as factors for the websites’ current success. Seeking Arrangement’s website says it always free for “Sugar Babies,” and says the site is for matchmaking between “successful and wealthy benefactors, and attractive guys and girls.”

“Half of the new members are single moms, so we’re thinking that it’s tied directly to the government shutdown, since programs like WIC (the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children), that help more than 9 million moms, have been stalled. It would make no sense for growth otherwise.”

Users of WhatsYourPrice.com have the possibility of earning an average of $80 for accepting a date with the highest bidder.

Seeking Arrangment noted another tie to the government shutdown: the worldwide website only saw a membership spike in the U.S. since last Sunday, and difficult economic times commonly encourage traffic to such dating websites.

“Since the recession the site has experienced tremendous growth, tripling its membership base to over 2 million members since 2008,” Gwynn told NPR.

The federal government shutdown continues into its second week, with Democrat and Republican lawmakers still in disagreement as the country continues toward an Oct. 17 deadline to raise the debt ceiling or face a first-ever default on financial obligations.

Texas 8th Graders Found With New Form of Powerful Meth

Authorities are conducting a drug probe at a Texas City Middle School after a group of eighth-grade girls was caught with a powerful form of liquid methamphetamines. According to Galveston County Sheriff Henry Trochesset,  the drugs were in liquid form and delivered on a type of stamp. Trouchesset said police have not seen the drug in this form and it is so potent that it can be absorbed through the skin simply by touching the stamp.

Authorities said that Tuesday afternoon six girls at Blocker Middle School began acting strangely and were acting zombie-like and somewhat delirious. District officials contacted their parents who took them all to the hospital. They have since been suspended from school.

One parent at the school said, “they’re not all bad girls. I mean one of them I've known for quite some time. I mean I would have never expected it. She didn't seem like a bad girl. She’s always been very sweet, very respectable, very involved in sports.”

Trochesset said the drugs came from "outside the country." Authorities' main objective is to determine who gave the drugs to the girls.

You mean it came across the border illegally, or at least that's what you want the public to think.

Uruguay official: legal pot for $1 per gram

MONTEVIDEO, Uruguay (AP) — Uruguay's drug czar says the country plans to sell legal marijuana for $1 per gram, though he's given higher figures in the past.

A law already passed in the lower house of Congress and expected to pass in the Senate later this year would make Uruguay the first country in the world to license and enforce rules for the production, distribution and sale of marijuana for adult consumers.

The El Pais newspaper reported Sunday that drug chief Julio Calzada says marijuana sales should start in the second half of 2014 at a price of $1.

He says the idea isn't to make money, but to wrench the market away from illegal dealers. Calzada said in August that the price would be around $2.5 per gram.

Sales are for locals only.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/11/02/woman-says-she-was-fired-after-reporting-town-employees-having-sex-in-library/
11/2/13

Two Employees Were Caught Having Sex in the Children’s Section of the Library — But They Weren’t Fired. The Whistleblower Was.

An assistant librarian says she was fired after reporting two town employees having sex in the library late last month — and now she plans to file a lawsuit against the New Mexico town.

Jamie Kurz walked in the Estancia Public Library before opening one morning and heard noises emitting from the children’s section of the library, her attorney, Joseph CampBell, told KOB-TV. When she walked over to investigate, Kurz saw two town employees having sexual intercourse, the attorney said.

“Right in the middle of the library, in front of God and everybody,” attorney CampBell told the local news station.

After catching the two in the act, Kurz allegedly contacted the town clerk, Julie Carter, and Mayor Sylvia Chavez. She later wrote the mayor asking for time off to avoid a “hostile work situation,” her attorney said.

Days after Chavez approved her time off, Kurz and Carter both learned they would be terminated, according to CampBell.

“They’re two outsiders, non-locals,” he said. “You know, they stumbled upon and kicked up a hornets nest.”

Mayor Chavez was reportedly unavailable to comment on the matter, according to KOB-TV.

The town’s attorney, Catherine Robinson, however, told KOB-TV the pair was not fired for reporting the sex act, but insisted she could not elaborate more because it was a personnel matter. She added that the two employees were dealt with after Kurz reported the sex act.

According to KOB-TV, one of the accused employees was still at work on Friday.

The mayor claimed in an October 10th letter that Kurz was terminated for not turning in the library keys upon request and failing to meet with her to address claims of a hostile work environment.

Carter has also hired an attorney who also plans to file a lawsuit against the town.

America’s Chief Export: Immorality

Why are Americans so peeved?

Is it Obamacare?

Well, partly—and in a big way. One wonders, in fact, if that sign language interpreter at the Mandela funeral moonlighted as the lead IT consultant for Healthcare.gov.

But it’s much more than just Obamacare. How do we explain America’s red-level economic and socio-political misery index?

Is it rising unemployment or the shrinking economy?

Is it explosive debt and deficits or pervasive government eavesdropping?

Is it the atrophy of individual liberty or an unprecedented trampling of the First, Second, Fourth and nearly every other amendment to the U.S. Constitution?

Finally, is it the systematic assault on natural marriage and family or government sanctioning of mass infanticide?

Yes.

It’s all of these things and more.

Still, these things are only symptomatic of a far greater problem. There remains a broader explanation, a definitive catalyst, for this, the domestic winter of our discontent—and, as so often happens, a mere 14 words from the Holy Scriptures better elucidates that catalyst than ream upon ream of opinion page copy. The words are these: “When the righteous thrive, the people rejoice; when the wicked rule, the people groan” (Prov. 29:2, NIV). Pro 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

America groans because the wicked rule.

Indeed, under this president, America’s chief export has become immorality. Sexual deviancy, murder of the unborn, redistribution of wealth and other evils have been sanitized and propagandized as “basic human rights.”

Thus, when this arrogant man stands before the U.N. and decries those nations that refuse to embrace his special brand of pagan relativism, we shouldn’t be surprised if those nations push back.

And so they push back.

To be sure, in addition to triggering our own spike in angst, Obama’s fevered push to “call evil good and good evil” is likewise responsible for America’s snowballing marginalization across the globe.

Under the tragic leadership of this “selfie”-centered narcissist, the United States, while never perfect, now looks less like Reagan’s “shining city on a hill” and more like the biblical **** of Babylon. A nation that once stood alone as the world’s moral guidepost now leads the contemptible charge to infect our privileged planet with its own viral iniquities.

And so the world pushes back.

For instance, there has been, of late, great weeping and gnashing of teeth among mainstream media—and other circles of intolerant “tolerance”—over successful efforts by several foreign governments to stem the tide of LGBT propaganda within their own sovereign borders.

Russia, India, Croatia, Peru, Jamaica and even Australia, for instance, along with other nations, are now moving to inoculate themselves from the fast-metastasizing cancer of sexual relativism.

Having witnessed from afar the poisonous results of such propaganda here in the U.S.—the hyper-sexualization of children, the deconstruction of natural marriage and family, the rampant spread of sexually transmitted diseases, religious persecution and the like—there seems an emerging global recognition that the radical LGBT agenda—a pet cause of Obama’s—is not about securing human rights but, rather, is about promulgating moral wrongs.

The world is finding that forcing others to “tolerate”—indeed, to celebrate—unfettered licentiousness under penalty of law is as harmful to society as is said licentiousness to those who practice it.

The world has looked to America’s moral leadership and found it wanting. The climate under Obama has gotten so bad, in fact, that Russian leader Vladimir Putin feels emboldened to claim for Russia the mantle of world moral leader—a proud distinction hitherto held by the good ol’ USA.

The Daily Mail reports that, in his state of the nation address, “Putin sought to cast Russia as the moral arbiter of the world on Thursday, as he hit out at America’s ‘non-traditional values’ and its influence across the world.”

Russia has barred LGBT and other sexual anarchist propaganda.

“Mr Putin defended his government’s increasingly conservative values,” continued the report, “and decried the ‘review of norms of morality’ in the West and elsewhere.

“‘This destruction of traditional values from above not only entails negative consequences for society, but is also inherently anti-democratic because it is based on an abstract notion and runs counter to the will of the majority of people,’ Mr Putin said, adding there could be no benefit for society for treating ‘good and evil’ equally.”

How sad that the leader of an atheist government, in a country where tens of millions have died under Marxism—another of Obama’s pet causes—could out-Christian our once-Christian nation.

Meanwhile, the tiny nation of Jamaica is among hundreds more that are likewise feeling the squeeze from both the Obama administration and allied LGBT pressure groups. They’re pushing for unrestrained sexual license in that Caribbean state as well.

According to a Jamaican newspaper, The Gleaner, Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality, recently spoke at a pro-family conference there. LaBarbera “encouraged Jamaicans to be grounded in their Christian beliefs and not to be lured by other countries in repealing the buggery [sodomy] law.”

“The United States has no business lecturing anybody about sexual morality,” he observed. “America has rampant abortions, rampant promiscuity, and I stand wholeheartedly with Jamaicans and encourage you all to hold to your beliefs.”

“The moral clarity of my kind, pro-family hosts was refreshing, and something we in the United States need to learn from and take heart from,” said LaBarbera upon his return. “I told them, 'The United States government has nothing to teach you about sexual morality, but you have much to teach us!'”

“'We are all watching Jamaica to see what happens,'” he added, “'and I believe if Jamaica can stand up and not bow to the pressure, you can be an example to the world. There is no need to follow anybody.'”

Indeed, there is certainly no need to follow America. Not on this. Fewer nations are buying what we’re selling. They’ve placed an embargo on our chief export.

While America may be lost (though I pray not), it would seem that her traditional values—values still shared by many, if not most, of the American people—are nonetheless gaining momentum abroad.

And that is encouraging.

Now let’s pray those values come full circle.

Canada high court strikes down all restrictions on prostitution

By Randall Palmer, Reuters

OTTAWA — The Supreme Court of Canada struck down all current restrictions on prostitution on Friday, including bans on brothels and on street solicitation, declaring the laws were unconstitutional because they violated prostitutes' safety.

The sweeping 9-0 decision will take effect in one year, inviting Parliament to try to come up with some other way to regulate the sex trade if it chooses to do so.

Prostitution is technically legal in Canada but most related activities have been illegal, including living off the avails of someone else's prostitution, but the court found that the provisions were overly broad or grossly disproportionate.

Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin said many prostitutes "have no meaningful choice" but to "engage in the risky economic activity of prostitution," and that the law should not make such lawful activity more dangerous.

"It makes no difference that the conduct of pimps and johns is the immediate source of the harms suffered by prostitutes," she wrote.

"The impugned laws deprive people engaged in a risky, but legal, activity of the means to protect themselves against those risks."

One current prostitute and two former ones, including a dominatrix, had initiated the challenge to Canada's laws, arguing that sex workers would be safer if they were allowed to screen johns and operate in brothels with bodyguards if they chose.

McLachlin dismissed the federal government's argument that it was prostitution itself, not the laws that govern it, that puts prostitutes at risk.

The safety of prostitutes became a high-profile issue in Canada following the trial and 2007 conviction of serial killer Robert Pickton, who preyed on prostitutes and other women in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside neighborhood.

"A law that prevents street prostitutes from resorting to safe havens...while a suspected serial killer prowls the streets, is a law that has lost sight of its purpose," McLachlin wrote.

Prostitution is legal in much of Europe and Latin America, and brothels are legal in numerous countries including the Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland. But questions have begun to be raised, partly because of human trafficking. France's lower house of parliament passed a law this month imposing stiff fines on clients.

"How prostitution is regulated is a matter of great public concern, and few countries leave it entirely unregulated," McLachlin wrote in explaining why she suspended the effect of the judgment for a year.

She said her decision "does not mean that Parliament is precluded from imposing limits on where and how prostitution may be conducted," noting that various provisions were intertwined.

"Greater latitude in one measure - for example, permitting prostitutes to obtain the assistance of security personnel - might impact on the constitutionality of another measure - for example, forbidding the nuisances associated with keeping a bawdy house (brothel)."

America and the Culture of Vulgarity—No End in Sight

The collapse of the barrier between popular culture and decadence has released a toxic mudslide of vulgarity into the nation’s family rooms—and just about everywhere else. There is almost no remote corner of this culture that is not marked by the toleration of vulgarity, or the outright celebration of depravity.

Lee Siegel has seen this reality, and he doesn’t like it. “When did the culture become so coarse?,” he asks, adding: “It’s a question that quickly gets you branded as either an unsophisticated rube or some angry culture warrior.”

Siegel wants us all to know that he is neither unsophisticated nor a culture warrior. In his recent feature essay in The Wall Street Journal, “America the Vulgar,” Siegel recites his cultural bona fides. As he relates, “I miss a time when there were powerful imprecations instead of mere obscenity—or at least when sexual innuendo, because it was innuendo, served as a delicious release of tension between our private and public lives.”

In other words, Siegel doesn’t mind graphic sexuality and innuendo, but he wants the public culture kept safe for children, and his children in particular. He opens his essay by telling us that his 7-year-old son recently asked, “What’s celebrity sex?” Shortly thereafter, his 3-year-old daughter was found with a less than appropriate photographic image on mom’s smart phone. “And so it went on this typical weekend,” Siegel remembers, even as he adds that the television in the next room was blaring inappropriate language.

At least he understands we have a problem. Our culture is indeed becoming so vulgar that would-be moral outlaws find it increasingly difficult to transgress. How do you shock people in a culture that has seen and heard everything already?

Siegel is right to point to the new technologies of social media as part of the problem:

These days, with every new ripple in the culture transmitted, commented-on, analyzed, mocked, mashed-up and forgotten on countless universal devices every few minutes, everything is available to everyone instantly, every second, no matter how coarse or abrasive. You used to have to find your way to Lou Reed. Now as soon as some pointlessly vulgar song gets recorded, you hear it in a clothing store.

That is one of the key insights of his essay. We have now reached the point that obscene language (or innuendo) is playing in department stores and public venues. The living room has become a locker room.

Siegel’s insights on technology and the vulgarization of the culture are worth careful attention:

Today, our cultural norms are driven in large part by technology, which in turn is often shaped by the lowest impulses in the culture. Behind the Internet’s success in making obscene images commonplace is the dirty little fact that it was the pornography industry that revolutionized the technology of the Internet. Streaming video, technology like Flash, sites that confirm the validity of credit cards were all innovations of the **** business. The Internet and pornography go together like, well, love and marriage. No wonder so much culture seems to aspire to ****’s depersonalization, absolute transparency and intolerance of secrets.

His diagnosis of the problem is almost prophetic; but Siegel’s essay also reveals the deeper dimensions of our cultural crisis. As he concludes his analysis, Siegel disavows any effort to answer vulgarity with either censorship or repression. His reference to repression reveals a great deal.

The idea of sexual repression was given its classic definition by none other than Sigmund Freud. Freud blamed the repression of sexual urges for a host of problems in society and in individual lives. At the same time, he admitted that a certain level of repression was necessary in order to sustain civilization.

Freud’s theories were understood to be an explicit rejection of the Christian understanding of the human person and human sexuality. And, even as he argued for a certain necessary level of sexual repression, the very idea of repression has unleashed a tidal wave of sexual energies into the society. By its very nature, the term repression seems to call for liberation; but even Freud would be scandalized by our vulgar culture, though he contributed in a powerful way to its momentum.

A culture afraid to repress sexuality in any way is a culture headed for destruction.

On one final point, Siegel is unquestionably right. He argues that “when the culture of vulgarity is produced by so many different factors—commercial, economic, social, aesthetic—there is no end in sight.”

That is the sad truth. The culture of vulgarity is now driven by so many sectors of our society that it seems virtually impossible to reverse. Furthermore, it is profitable beyond the wildest dreams of those who peddled vulgarity before the invention of the Internet.

A society that increasingly sees all sexual restraint as repression hardly intends to turn back. Lee Siegel has it right, “there is no end in sight.”

I've been pondering "image of the beast, that it should both speak, and cause..." for some time, and I keep thinking that the television seems to fit.

Really, it's "evolved" into not tv, but internet, as "Smart TV's" are now being sold with direct internet connection. Basically, people are buying a different style computer to watch in their living rooms when they purchase the new "wide screen" digital tv's. The Smart TV is just a monitor with a basic pc in it that has internet access and browser, all geared toward social media that is designed around ads for products. And they are "conveniently" making available a way to make purchases "with your mobile device".

ALL of that is based on the love of money in the world. Digital social interaction, citizen management, and ultimately, world-wide commerce and banking, all from the comfort of anywhere you have your smart phone or "mobile device".

Now just imagine if the digital system was no longer accessible to you. Your cell/internet account is locked. Banking is frozen because you don't have the proper digital id device, such as your phone or even implant. It's been turned off. Now what? For some it will show their lives are totally dictated by the digital beast system. They have effectively bowed down and are worshiping the beast and his "image".

"Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them." Luke 12:37 (KJB)

Some very good points here - I have an iPhone, and I will admit that at times EVEN I can get entrenched into it for whatever reasons, which ends up being a big distraction(to say the least)!

Yeah, if it(and the other devices you mention) get cut off from me, I wouldn't mind it at all.

It isn't. Actually, it's less dangerous. That's a fact.

Alcohol doesn't really occur naturally. You have to make it. Cannabis grows naturally, and is used in it's natural state, no alterations required.

19 Statistics About The Drugging Of America That Are Almost Too Crazy To Believe

The American people are the most drugged people in the history of the planet.  Illegal drugs get most of the headlines, but the truth is that the number of Americans that are addicted to legal drugs is far greater than the number of Americans that are addicted to illegal drugs.  As you will see below, close to 70 percent of all Americans are currently on at least one prescription drug.  In addition, there are 60 million Americans that “abuse alcohol” and 22 million Americans that use illegal drugs.  What that means is that almost everyone that you meet is going to be on something.  That sounds absolutely crazy but it is true.  We are literally being drugged out of our minds.  In fact, as you will read about below, there are 70 million Americans that are taking “mind-altering drugs” right now.  If it seems like most people cannot think clearly these days, it is because they can’t.  We love our legal drugs and it is getting worse with each passing year.  And considering the fact that big corporations are making tens of billions of dollars peddling their drugs to the rest of us, don’t expect things to change any time soon.  The following are 19 statistics about the drugging of America that are almost too crazy to believe…

#1 An astounding 70 million Americans are taking legal mind-altering drugs right now.

#2 According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, doctors wrote more than 250 million prescriptions for antidepressants during 2010.

#3 According to a study conducted by the Mayo Clinic, nearly 70 percent of all Americans are on at least one prescription drug.  An astounding 20 percent of all Americans are on at least five prescription drugs.

#4 Americans spent more than 280 billion dollars on prescription drugs during 2013.

#5 According to the CDC, approximately 9 out of every 10 Americans that are at least 60 years old say that they have taken at least one prescription drug within the last month.

#6 There are 60 million Americans that “abuse alcohol”.

#7 According to the Department of Health and Human Services, 22 million Americans use illegal drugs.

#8 Incredibly, more than 11 percent of all Americans that are 12 years of age or older admit that they have driven home under the influence of alcohol at least once during the past year.

#9 According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there is an unintentional drug overdose death in the United States every 19 minutes.

#10 In the United States today, prescription painkillers kill more Americans than heroin and **** combined.

#11 According to the CDC, approximately three quarters of a million people a year are rushed to emergency rooms in the United States because of adverse reactions to pharmaceutical drugs.

#12 According to Alternet, “11 of the 12 new-to-market drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration were priced above $100,000 per-patient per-year” in 2012.

#13 The percentage of women taking antidepressants in America is higher than in any other country in the world.

#14 Many of these antidepressants contain warnings that “suicidal thoughts” are one of the side effects that should be expected.  The suicide rate for Americans between the ages of 35 and 64 rose by close to 30 percent between 1999 and 2010.  The number of Americans that are killed by suicide now exceeds the number of Americans that die as a result of car accidents every year.

#15 In 2010, the average teen in the United States was taking 1.2 central nervous system drugs.  Those are the kinds of drugs which treat conditions such as ADHD and depression.

#16 Children in the United States are three times more likely to be prescribed antidepressants as children in Europe are.

#17 A shocking Government Accountability Office report discovered that approximately one-third of all foster children in the United States are on at least one psychiatric drug.

#18 A survey conducted for the National Institute on Drug Abuse found that more than 15 percent of all U.S. high school seniors abuse prescription drugs.

#19 It turns out that dealing drugs is extremely profitable.  The 11 largest pharmaceutical companies combined to rake in approximately $85,000,000,000 in profits in 2012.

In America today, doctors are trained that there are just two potential solutions to any problem.  Either you prescribe a pill or you cut someone open.  Surgery and drugs are pretty much the only alternatives they offer us.

And an endless barrage of television commercials have trained all of us to think that there is a “pill for every problem”.

Are you in pain?

Just take a pill.

Are you feeling blue?

Just take a pill.

Do you need a spark in your marriage?

Just take a pill.

And most Americans assume that all of these pills are perfectly safe.

After all, the government would never approve something that wasn’t safe, right?

Sadly, what most Americans don’t realize is that there is a revolving door between big pharmaceutical corporations and the government agencies that supposedly “regulate” them.  Many of those that are now in charge of our “safety” have spent their entire careers peddling legal drugs to all of us.

We have become a nation of drugged out zombies, and it is all perfectly legal.  The funny thing is that many of these “legal drugs” have just slightly different formulations from their “illegal” counterparts.

If more Americans understood what they were actually taking, would that cause them to stop?

Perhaps some would, but for the most part Americans are totally in love with their drugs and giving them up would not be easy.

Just ask anyone that has tried.

So what do you think about the drugging of America?

Just for the sake of argument - the economy, in terms of hiring jobs, is in the worst shape it's been since the Great Depression, but somehow these corporations are making billions of dollars in profits?

Anyhow - even psychiatrists don't know what to do when they get in new patients et al - pretty much all they do is give them some "magic" pill, and nothing more.

This is no surprise, b/c the natural man doesn't know the spirit of a man, only the Spirit.

1Corinthians_2:14  But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

University of Arizona class requires students to participate in 'Condom Olympics'

Students at the University of Arizona (UA) were assigned to plan a school-wide “Condom Olympics” for their three-credit “Sex, Health, and AIDS” class.

The students planned “athletic events such as a condom-wrapped egg toss,” according to The Daily Wildcat, the official student newspaper.

“Students can also see and make condom art and join a condom scavenger hunt,” the article continues.

Professor William Simmons told the newspaper that he does not like term papers or exams and prefers an “action learning assignment.”

“Hopefully this will get students comfortable knowing what condoms are,” he said.

“Sex, Health, and AIDS” is a three-credit undergraduate course which “sets out to explore this social and disease phenomenon from a number of perspectives,” according to the description on the official course listing website.

The events were part of the school’s SexTalk Week Resource Fair, which the school hosted on Wednesday, according to a Facebook event.

“Special appearance by ‘Mr. Condom,’ the giant walking condom, will occur throughout the fair,” the event states.

Williams did not respond to a request for comment from Campus Reform in time for publication.

'Huffington Post' Says Friends Should Have Casual, Meaningless Sex

I don’t know whether to laugh, throw up or both. A reader tipped me to this Huffington Post article by D.A. Wolf headlined: “5 Benefits Of Having a Friend With Benefits.” In case you’re not hip to liberal-speak, “friends with benefits” refers to the “progressive” idea that it’s really cool for friends to use each other for casual, meaningless sex.

What could possibly go wrong?

Writes Wolf:

“Some of us believe that friends with benefits can be mutually enjoyable and perfectly suited to our needs—not just when we’re very young, and not as a matter of explicitly avoiding commitment.

“In fact, it seems to me that friends with benefits gets a bad rap, as if women aren’t supposed to feel desire (in general) or lust (in particular)—especially once they become mothers, or if they’re ‘of a certain age.’”

Yes, nothing says “I respect you” like using your “friend’s” body to sexually gratify yourself.

Wolf then asks the following:

“When we’re putting the pieces back together after a divorce, isn’t discovery of our newly single sexual self part of the process? Don’t we want to enjoy the flirtation, the fantasy, the sensation and the sense of well-being that comes from sexual foreplay and sex itself? Who doesn’t love the jolt of energy, the boost to mood, the sparkle of feeling fully alive that comes from great sex?

“And don’t we feel reassured when we re-engage with our sexual selves after divorce or a tough breakup?”

Yes, again, nothing gives a woman a “sense of well-being” like being exploited for casual sex by some jerk who calls himself her friend, yet uses her like a piece of meat. Giving away the milk for free? Now that’ll earn you some respect. The fellas will be lining up around the corner with marriage proposals. But they’ll have to wait on all your “friends” to get done “benefiting” first.

Ms. Wolf, a veritable fount of “progressive” wisdom, blah-blahs on:

“In my opinion, especially as a mother, if you’re looking for sex but not in a position to pursue something more, whatever exploration you undertake, you owe it to your kids (and of course yourself) to do it safely.”

How thoughtful. Parent of the year material. Hear that, kids? Sure, mommy’s a trollop – and sure, she’s hooking up with all the guys at the office, but she’s “doing it safely.”

Aren’t we proud of mommy?

Wolf drones on:

“One of the advantages of a friend with benefits is freedom from overly romantic attachments. … So why not experiment with your special friend, if the thought appeals to you?”

Exactly! Why not? For that matter, why short-change yourself? Why go gratis? You’re basically there anyway. Fifty bucks a pop would sure help with those Botox injections.

Wolf concludes:

“I admit that I was a fan of the friends with benefits model from an early age. I love being in love, but that sort of attachment doesn’t come around every day. Friends with benefits — in my life — was just right, several times.”

Really? Only several times? Mommy has lots of “special friends,” doesn’t she? Your children must be so proud. “Hey, everybody! Look what my mommy wrote in the Huffington Post!”

And the great news? Once the feds figure out how to make this whole Obamacare thingy work, you’ll get all the herpes meds you can swallow – for free!

Now that is a “benefit” you can share with your friends.
