The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

New Strain Of Terrifying Street Drug ‘Spice’ Creating Entire Subculture Of Human Zombies Across The Globe
‘Spice has the physically addictive qualities of heroin and the psychologically addictive qualities of crack,’ says Robert Ralphs, senior lecturer in criminology at the University of Manchester and an expert on the drug. The crisis came to national attention this week following the publication of video footage, shot by an office worker in Manchester, showing people under its influence.

3/11/17

Dead men and women were walking the streets of central Manchester this week.  Some of them, their faces wan and eyes open, but filled with a terrible vacancy, stumble forward with arms out-stretched.

“And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Revelation 9:6 (KJV)

Imagine people standing stock-still like shop mannequins, seemingly unconscious but upright, or slumped forward, as commuters scurry past with their heads down. There were still more I spotted comatose on pavements or slumped in doorways. One young man in a grey tracksuit lolled on the steps outside McDonald’s, twitching and gibbering to himself.

Outside the Arndale Shopping Centre, I saw another youth passed out on his back, his arms and legs extended into the air as if rigor mortis had set in. These are the victims of Spice, a generic term for various mixtures of herbs and potent chemicals which, until last May, was openly on sale in Britain as a so-called ‘legal high’.

Ohio coroner runs out of room again! Look what's killing everyone!

A coroner's office has ran out of room for a second time this year because of all the opioid deaths taking place.

cbsnews.com reports: For the second time this year, a coroner's office in Ohio has run out of space for dead bodies due to the opioid epidemic, CBS Pittsburgh reports.

The Tribune-Review reports the Montgomery County office had 13 bodies on Monday. Twelve of them were overdoses.

Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger, says they have already expanded the cooler once last year because space for 36 wasn't enough. It now holds 42 bodies.

"If this pace continues, I'm not really sure what we're going to do," Dr. Harshbarger told the Trib. "It's full every night."

Marijuana Use Linked to Poorer School Performance, New Research Reveals

Teenagers who smoke marijuana regularly achieve poorer grades at school and risk their chances of going to university, according to a major new scientific study.

A longitudinal study of more than 26,400 pupils in Canada found those who started using marijuana at least once a month were around half as likely to achieve high grades as they were before taking up the habit, and were ultimately less likely to pursue university ambitions.

Marijuana users were also four times more likely to skip classes and two-to-four times less likely to complete their homework and value getting good grades.

Cannabis-infused pizza goes on sale in Massachusetts to rave reviews
Saturday, 10 June 2017 4:47AM

A Massachusetts medical marijuana dispensary has created a culinary delight for patients who don’t want to smoke their pot or eat it in the form of sweets.

Quincy-based Ermont Inc. has been selling cannabis-infused pizza for about three weeks to rave reviews.

Director of Operations Seth Yaffe says the company has a whole range of marijuana edibles, but he wanted to offer meals that patients could eat without a lot of sugar.

The 6-inch cheese pizzas sell for $38 apiece. The tomato sauce contains 125 milligrams of THC, the psychoactive compound in marijuana. The company has sold about 200 already. Yaffe says if patients want toppings, they can add their own.

Only people with state-issued medical marijuana ID cards are eligible to buy the pies.

Meanwhile, Hawaiian pizza lovers have been left mourning the death of Sam Panopoulos, the man who first put pineapples atop pizza in Canada in 1962.

Mr Panopoulos, who had just celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary, died suddenly at the age of 83.

Iceland president causes concern by initially vowing he would ban pineapples on pizzas - if he could.

Druggies Celebrate Wildly As Sin State Nevada Opens First Marijuana Retail Store In Las Vegas
Giant speakers roared with reggae beats. Limousines and party buses — several lined with green light-emitting diode lights — ushered tourists and locals to the revelry outside Reef Dispensaries, a marijuana shop a few steps behind the Fashion Show Mall, where the sea of customers stretched down and around the 165,000-square-foot building. “I’m excited!” shouted 24-year-old Las Vegan Majanae Brown as the minutes ticked toward midnight. “I can’t wait.”

7/1/17

They lined up by the hundreds hoping to be part of Sin City history. Under the bright lights of the Strip, fireworks shot off the roof of Reef Dispensaries in celebration as strobe lights lit up the night sky.

EDITOR’S NOTE: As we continue our headlong rush into the end times, the lid is coming off the underworld and the night creatures are crawling out into public view. People who object to things like legalized public pot consumption are seen as the “enemies to progress” by the mad throngs forming lines around the block at pot dispensaries. One can only imagine what’s going to be legalized next.

“Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Isaiah 5:20 (KJV)

At Euphoria Wellness, there were no party buses, no fireworks or strobe lights. The only music to be heard played lightly from the cellphone of a customer near the door. But hundreds stood in a line that stretched around in the strip mall building in the south valley suburbs.
Las Vegas marijuana dispensaries gear up for extra business:

“This is larger than 4/20. This is the largest I’ve ever seen,” Euphoria Wellness co-owner Larry Doyle said. (4/20 refers to the counterculture holiday celebrating marijuana on April 20.)

When Friday finally turned to Saturday, Nevada’s green rush was on as the state joined Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska in allowing people to buy marijuana for recreational use.
Nevadans voted 54-46 in November to legalize adult-use marijuana.

On Saturday, less than eight months after the ballot measure passed, more than 40 stores across Southern Nevada were authorized by the state to begin selling marijuana to adults 21 and older without the need of medical cannabis card. Five dispensaries in Henderson did not get authorization because the city put a six-month moratorium on recreational marijuana licenses, which expires in August.
Las Vegas 1st Day Of Recreational Marijuana 2017:

GRAPHIC WARNING: This video is raw footage of the scene on the streets in Las Vegas on the first day of legal pot sales. Watch with caution.

Despite the large crowds at dispensaries across the valley, police reported no issues with Saturday’s rollout of marijuana sales. Although it’s now legal for adults 21 and older to buy and possess up to an ounce of marijuana, consuming it in public remains illegal. There were no signs of use at the dispensaries Saturday, and a Strip walk in the afternoon found just one open user, who wouldn’t talk to a reporter. He wouldn’t say who he was or whether he’d bought his weed legally.

Marijuana is still considered illegal federally. But for many, Saturday’s legalization in Nevada brought a lawful avenue to get something they were previously forced to buy from the black market.

“You don’t have to hide in the corner anymore and feel bad about it,” said Pam Mateo as she walked out of Euphoria at 1:30 a.m. with her purchase — “just a few joints” inside an opaque white plastic bag. source

Ontario teen dies while on high school graduation trip in Cuba
By Jessica Patton   Web Writer  Global News

An 18-year-old teen has died while on a graduation trip in Varadero, Cuba, her family confirmed Saturday, marking the second death of a student on a school trip this week.

Alex Sagriff, from Belleville, Ont., was a student from St. Theresa Catholic School and was in Cuba for a high school graduation trip, organized by the Toronto-based S-Trip company.

A written statement from the family asks for privacy during this difficult time and adds they do not know much regarding the circumstances of the incident but that their priority is getting her home.

“Alex was an amazing young woman, she had a ton of friends, and has a ton of family who loves her,” read the statement.

The school board wrote in a statement that the school principal, vice-principal and staff, as well as a bereavement and crisis response team have been on site at St. Theresa to support all students and its staff.

“The well-being of our students and staff is and continues to be a priority. The Board response team will continue to be at the school over the next several days, and in collaboration with our community partners, information for accessing community supports has and will continue to be made available to students, parents and staff.”

Jordyn DeClair, who had known Sagriff since elementary school and had graduated with her from St. Theresa, described the 18-year-old as “outgoing and well spirited” and said “she was loved by all.”

Tributes have been pouring in over social media, with one Twitter user named Alex Supryka writing, “My heart is broken right now. You were one of the nicest girls I have ever met. And I am so sorry @alex_sagriff, no teen nor parent should ever have to go through this pain, and I will forever be sorry that I couldn’t help you in a time of need. rest in peace beautiful. ”

Another user, Danielle Lentini wrote, “Thoughts and prayers to the Sagriff family and all friends. Amazing girl gone too soon, rest in peace Alex.”

Sagriff was set to attend Loyalist College in the fall.

The Canadian government has confirmed the death, but can’t reveal further details due to privacy concerns.

The government says consular officials are in touch with local officials in Cuba and are also in touch with the person’s family.

Global News reached out to S-Trip but at the time of publication, had not heard back.

The incident comes just days after a 15-year-old student died on a school trip in Algonquin Provincial Park, The Toronto District School Board confirmed Wednesday.

Jeremiah Perry was reported missing Tuesday night while on an outdoor educational field trip with six staff members and 32 other students from C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute and Westview Centennial Secondary School in Toronto.

http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/take-tour-international-church-cannabis-denver-colorado-congregants-elevationists/
The International Church of Cannabis In Denver Colorado Where Pot Smoking Congregants Are ‘Elevationists’
“Being an elevationist [the term they’ve coined for the theology of the new church] means being an explorer,” Lee begins. “Our spiritual journey is one of self-discovery, not one of dogma. We believe there is no one-path solution to life’s big questions. This is simply a supportive place for each one of us to find a pathway to our own spirituality, whatever that may be.” Think of it like the pick ’n’ mix of belief. There is no doctrine, no creed, no scripture or book. Simply choose bits of whatever world religions work for you, or make something up yourself, mix it all together, and see if it tastes good.

8/13/17

As congregations dwindle, a new religion is lighting up Denver, Colorado. Aaron Millar joins the ‘elevationists’ of the International Church of Cannabis who worship the weed

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.” 1 Peter 5:8,9 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: As the present spiritual darkness intensifies over not just America but the world as a whole, we are seeing stranger and stranger phenomena. The Bible tells us that in the time of Jacob’s trouble, the One World Religion will include all manner of deviant behaviour in their “worship” services. Not only will there be drug and alcohol use, but open prostitution and cannibalism as well. Being a pothead has become big business in 2017, and it is also become a religion. They don’t call it pot smoking, now they are partaking in the “holy sacrament of cannabis”. A partnership will Hillsong can’t be too far away. And painting their “sanctuary” in bright, rainbow colors didn’t happen by accident.

It started, naturally, with a group of friends smoking a joint. Steve Berke, a graduate of Yale University, was temporarily living in an old church in Denver, Colorado. His estate agent parents had bought the 113-year-old building with the plan to turn it into flats. He and Lee Molloy, as well as a few friends, had just moved from Miami to capitalise on Colorado’s lucrative marijuana market. But then, in the words of Lee: “We started having these stupid, fantastical conversations. What if we kept it as a church?” So Steve convinced his parents to give him the building and, nine months later, on 20 April 2016 – 4/20, as it’s known in the United States, the unofficial pothead’s holiday (because it’s 4.20pm somewhere, right?) – the International Church of Cannabis opened its doors with its own chapel, theology and video game arcade.
The International Church of Cannabis in Denver:

From the outside all appears normal: red-brick towers, blocky turrets, a classic city church in an otherwise leafy suburb of Denver. But there are giveaways. The three front doors and arched window facade have been spray-painted with silver galaxies and bright, happy-face planets. The work of legendary painter and graphic artist Kenny Scharf, who has exhibited in the Whitney and New York’s Museum of Modern Art, it looks more like the backdrop for an illegal 90s rave than your typical parish church. But it’s indicative of the coup that Elevation Ministries, the non-profit company that Steve and Lee co-founded to set up the Church of Cannabis, has managed to pull off.

“That mural would probably buy you next door’s house,” Lee says, letting me in. But they got it for the price of an air ticket for Scharf, a few days’ skiing and the loan of a jacket. People love fantastical ideas.

The original plan was to open it to the general public, but because Colorado’s current pot law only allows smoking in private clubs, it is, for now at least, a members-only affair. To date they have more than 1,400 on their list. They open the doors from Thursday to Sunday for smoke-free public viewing, with private cannabis services held on Friday nights. It seems to be growing.

Every single surface has been painted in vibrant patterns of red, blue and green, geometric prisms with mythological creatures, stars and eyes hidden within. At the back wall, two dream-like Dali-esque giants sit cross-legged as if lost in meditation. “It feels like a hallucination,” someone says beside me, eyes careening upwards. It’s like being swallowed by a Pink Floyd album cover. Perhaps most impressive of all is that it was created spontaneously without a sketch or a plan. This was another freebie: they flew Spanish artist Okuda San Miguel over and bought him a bunch of paints, then he started work in one corner and painted whatever he dreamed up until he finished. It took him just six days – he rested on the seventh.

As the service begins we are encouraged to get to know each other: people spark up joints and pass them around. Long wisps of smoke float to the ceiling and cover the congregation in a flowery shroud; splutterings of coughs and giggles, the sharp intake of breath on all sides. There are about 30 of us in all, a mixed bag of misfits ranging from a self-proclaimed pothead granny, whose eyes appear to move independently of each other, to a couple of Harold & Kumar wannabes taking selfies at the altar. And then there’s Lee: a former Bible quiz champion, raised in a strict evangelical Christian home, he has the credentials of a preacher if not the look: bushy hipster beard and long messy hair, dark bags under his eyes and the whiff of old smoke on his shirt. It feels more like the start of an AA meeting than a spiritual encounter. But then he starts to speak.

“There are as many pathways to being an elevationist as there are elevationists,” Lee says. Spirituality shouldn’t be a prescription; it should be an adventure. It’s about seeking, not being told what to find.

It’s an idea that will strike a chord with many people. Church attendance in the UK is on the decline. Last year only 1.4% of the population attended Sunday Anglican services – the lowest level ever recorded. There is a significant demographic of people who simply can’t relate to organised religion or outright oppose it on principle. Being able to explore your own path, within a supportive space, could help fill that widening spiritual deficit.

But here’s where they may lose you. That journey of self-discovery, says Lee, is enhanced by ritual cannabis use. “We have been programmed to behave and think in certain ways,” he says. “Cannabis helps elevationists tear down those false realities.” source

http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/sin-city-nevada-set-become-first-state-allow-marijuana-lounges-stoners-get-high/
SIN CITY: Nevada Set To Become First State To Allow Marijuana Lounges For Stoners To Get High
The Nevada legislator who spearheaded much of the legalization movement, state Sen. Tick Segerblom (D), has said he thinks marijuana will attract new tourists to the state. “We’re going to really market this thing around the world,” Segerblom told The Hill in a recent interview. But legalization skeptics say the growing prevalence of marijuana stores, and lounges where those products can be consumed, increase the risk of crime associated with the nascent industry.

9/14/17

Nevada could become the first state to allow users of recreational marijuana to light up in clubs and lounges, a state legal body said this week, opening a new front in what is already a booming pot business.

“Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.” 1 Thessalonians 5:5,6 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: Watching the gradual rush towards legalizing pot has been for me a subject of great amusement. Just like when the lottery first became legal back in the 1970’s, and everyone was all excited about the new source of public school funding which was going to “erase poverty” in the worst of neighborhoods, the fight to legalize pot comes with similar outlandish and completely not true claims. Will pot lounges “boost tourism”? Yep, sure will. It will also boost the crime rate, boost the poverty rate, and boost your car while they’re at it. The Bible commands us to be sober, and you cannot be sober and high at the same time.

The state Legislative Counsel Bureau said Monday that state law does not prohibit city or county governments from operating a lounge or facility in which patrons may use marijuana.

Cities and counties are allowed to adopt their own rules governing those businesses and decide whether they are required to obtain special permits, the bureau said. The ruling means tourists and visitors may soon have a place to consume marijuana in public. Pot smoking is banned under state law in Nevada’s hotels and casinos.

None of the four other states where marijuana is legal for recreational use — Washington, Colorado, Alaska and Oregon — currently allow so-called pot lounges. All four states restrict marijuana use to private residences. The three other states where legislators and regulators are finalizing rules in advance of legalized marijuana — California, Massachusetts and Maine — are not currently considering legal pot lounges.
Legalization advocates say pot lounges are a logical step, especially if states where marijuana is allowed hope to connect their pot industry to tourism.

“Allowing regulated social use areas is a good solution that recognizes cannabis consumers’ rights to congregate just like alcohol drinkers can in bars while also protecting nonconsumers’ rights not to inhale secondhand smoke,” said Tom Angell, the founder of Marijuana Majority, a pro-legalization group. “It should be a no brainer, especially in tourist towns like Las Vegas where visitors don’t have private residences they can go back to to imbibe.”

“The people of Nevada wanted folks not to go to jail for using marijuana,” said Kevin Sabet, who heads the anti-legalization group Smart Approaches to Marijuana. “I don’t think they envisioned pot clubs in their neighborhood.”

“Data show that areas around marijuana stores have higher crime and issues with second-hand smoke and other nuisances. I can’t imagine pot clubs will be a good thing for the state,” Sabet said.

Cities will still have to pass their own ordinances governing marijuana lounges after the state legislature killed a measure that would have legalized them earlier this year. Gov. Brian Sandoval (R) told the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Tuesday he is no fan of the prospect of lounges.

“I did not support them previously,” Sandoval told the paper. “I don’t support them now.”

Sandoval did not support the ballot measure legalizing marijuana last year, but he has said he will work with the federal Justice Department to allow legal marijuana now that it has passed. Sandoval and other governors of states that have legalized pot have been concerned that the Trump administration may reverse a long-standing Obama administration agreement that deemphasized prosecutions of marijuana-related businesses in their states.

“I don’t know what direction the Justice Department is going to go, but it is going to raise some legal issues,” Sandoval told The Hill in a recent interview. “I want a model system.”

Nevada became the fifth state to allow marijuana use for recreational purposes on July 1, just eight months after state voters approved a ballot measure. California, Maine and Massachusetts, where voters also passed legalization measures, will begin legal pot sales next year. source

Challenge to California’s prostitution ban may proceed, judges rule

A three-judge panel of 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco said the plaintiffs’ legal challenge against the ban may proceed. The plaintiffs say the current law violates the right to engage in consensual sex, as described in a 2003 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that revoked criminal laws against gay sexual acts, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

As gonorrhea approaches superbug status, scientists scramble to find a vaccine - Science & Health

Gonorrhea is becoming more dangerous worldwide as the sexually-transmitted disease approaches untreatability, a report on growing incidences of the STD superbug in China shows.

Strains of Neisseria gonorrhoeae with dual resistance to World Health Organization-recommended antibiotics azithromycin and last-ditch drug ceftriaxone turn out to be common in China, says the groundbreaking study published this week in PLOS Medicine.

From 2013 to 2016, the rates of dually-resistant gonorrhea in China climbed from 1.9 percent to 3.3 percent, reports Yueping Yin of the National Center for STD Control, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Peking Union Medical College Institute of Dermatology in Nanjing, China and colleagues.

In short, superbug gonorrhea is becoming a global threat.
Most of the participants in the Chinese study were symptomatic male heterosexuals.

So what can be done? Just this week a completely different team reported they had invented a way to trap bacteria in the bloodstream that behaves like a nano-scale Venus flytrap. But the idea is short of a technology yet, and it wouldn’t work for gonorrhea anyway, which doesn’t infect the bloodstream. Normally, the disease can be fatal if it does.
