Using fake news against opposing views
The Washington Times http://www.washingtontimes.com

ANALYSIS/OPINION:

What worries me the most about fake news, isn’t that it’s fake, it’s that it’s being used by the left to try to silence opposing views.

Take for example a story reported by the Los Angeles Times that included a professor who put together a Google document of “false, misleading, clickbait-y and satirical ‘news sources’” to help people “cleanse their newsfeeds of misinformation.”

The only problem with the list, was it included real news sites of which the professor simply didn’t agree. Conservative blogs, including Red State and The Blaze, were on the list, as was more centrist, but GOP-leaning Independent Journal Review (IJR). None of those sites are fake — they often just peddle in the real news purposely not covered by the mainstream media.

“Not all of these sources are always or inherently problematic, neither are all of them fake or false,” the professor, Melissa Zimdars, at Merrimack College in Massachusetts told the Times. ” … They should be considered in conjunction with other news/info sources due to their tendency to rely on clickbait headlines or Facebook descriptions, etc.”

So, just like MSNBC, Huffington Post, Slate, Mother Jones, and ThinkProgress — all partisan left outlets, which often use exaggeration and hyperbole to emphasize their point — which weren’t included on her list.

CNN’s media columnist Brian Stelter also has warned about “fake news,” but in his diatribe, he included right-leaning Fox News and alt-right website Breitbart in the mix.

“Breitbart is anti-media. Much of Fox News is anti-media. Fake news websites and some right wing blogs are anti-media. These outlets provide a different audience with a different set of facts about the world. But too often what they’re really selling is opinion and conspiracy theory masquerading as fact. These sites, these outlets, they present themselves as the opposite of traditional news sources, the antidote to mainstream media,” he said.

What he’s right about is there does need to be an antidote to the mainstream media. Because often what he — and other newsrooms around the country — view as “opinion and conspiracy theory” are all too often real news stories that simply don’t fit their agenda.

The possibility that Donald Trump could become president? CNN never had a map that could get him to 270 electoral votes. Respected pollster FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver got chastised the week leading up to the election because he had Mr. Trump’s chances at about 30 percent — far higher than any of the broadcast networks or other pollsters who engaged in group-think.

Paid protesters are another example.

We know, after an undercover video was released by conservative group Project Veritas, that two Democratic operatives had to step down from their positions because it looked as though they were trying to hire protesters to incite violence at Mr. Trump’s rallies.

These two men didn’t lose their jobs because they were innocent — or because the videos were “highly edited” like the mainstream media charged. Clearly something was going on there. But only right-wing outlets (or “fake,” “anti-media” blogs) covered it, with barely a mention at CNN, NPR or any of the broadcast news networks.

When Mr. Trump said during a presidential debate that protesters were hired and told to do “bad things” at his rallies, PolitiFact even admitted that “too much remains unknown to put it on the Truth-O-Meter.”

So it seems like it would be something investigative journalists would want to, well, investigate.

But not according to Washington Post reporter Phillip Bump.

When Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse asked on Twitter after the election, why wasn’t there more reporting on the anti-Trump protests — like who they were organized by and if they were paid for — Mr. Bump took offense.

“Sasse’s question is a bit like asking why we don’t have more reporting on the fact that the Moon is preparing a superweapon with which to annex Antarctica,” Mr. Bump wrote, in an article titled: “Sen. Sasse here are some answers to your questions about ‘paid rioting.’”

When confronted on Twitter about his lack of intellectual curiosity from a reader, Mr. Bump responded: “Allow me to reply in a way you’ll grasp: derp, derp, derp.”

So yes, we need an antidote to this sort of media — and that often comes in the likes of the Federalist — who did an epic take-down of Mr. Bump last week — or The Washington Times, Washington Free-Beacon, The Daily Caller, and, yes, Breitbart.

None of it is fake — it’s merely doing the job the mainstream media refuses to do.

Shocking Proof That The Mainstream Media Gives You More ‘Fake News’ Than Any Satire Site Ever Will
by Geoffrey Grider

In short, the current news that there should be a campaign against ‘fake news’ is of itself a fake news story.

The progressive Left, spearheaded by the liberal media and Barack Obama, want you to be outraged over the current level of ‘fake news’ that is disseminating across the globe. What they mean when they say this is that they want satire sites, like The Onion, to be shut down. They attempt to make the laughable claim that satire sites “changed the course of the presidential election.” But in point of fact, people are no more fooled by these sites than they are by ‘fake news’ broadcasting like SNL’s Weekend Update and The Daily Show. Sites like these fill the gap that magazines like MAD and National Lampoon did years ago. And while a random sampling of low information Americans may be fooled by these satire sites, the vast majority of intelligent, everyday people are not.

In short, the current news that there should be a campaign against ‘fake news’ is of itself a fake news story. But this is how they distract you, much like the streetcorner magician who has you looking off in one direction while he gins up his trick in the other.

So let’s take a look at a few times where the media and our government has deceived us with ‘fake news’ masquerading as an actual story.

CNN Classic ‘Fake News’ Broadcast Pretending To Be On The Front Lines But Was Actually In TV Studio:

Our lead-off fake news story is a classic. Filmed during the first Gulf War, it shows CNN “journalists” Charles Jaco and his crew pretending to be giving a “breaking news” update on the fighting. The only problem is that the outtakes clearly show they are not on the front lines but in a poorly decorated television studio. CNN presented this as real-life, happening now news. Completely fake.

The assassination of JFK and the ‘fake news’ of the Warren Report commission:

In 2016, there is so much information online regarding the Kennedy killing that no one seriously believes that Lee Harvey Oswald shot him or ever fired a shot at all. But J. Edgar Hoover insisted that Oswald take the fall, and the ‘fake news’ Warren Commission was hatched to advance that narrative

36 Times Obama Said You Could Keep Your Health Care Plan ‘Fake News’ Scam:

One of the greatest ‘fake news’ scams of the modern era is hoaxer-in-chief Obama saying that “if you like your plan, you can keep your plan“. Not only did this turn out not to be true – but – Obama was fully aware he was lying each and every time he said it. Not only that, every single media outlet in America repeated the lie, knowing it was a lie.

George Bush selling the ‘fake news’ lie that Saddam Hussein had ‘weapons of mass destruction’:

Hoo-boy, this was quite the ‘fake news’ whopper. Exactly what you would expect from the Bush Crime Family. Who helped Bush to sell this ‘fake news’ to the American public? Our old frenemies at the main stream media. How many US soldiers died as a result of this ‘fake news’ story? Right around 5,000 men and women were sacrificed for this.

How our government and media use crisis actors to drive a narrative at staged horrific events:

Of all the ‘fake news’ stories out there, this is one of the toughest to talk about. No, we are not saying that people didn’t actually die at places like Sandy Hook and other places, because they did. But that does not mean that the event that killed them was not a staged event involving paid crisis actors. So for this one we are going  you a couple of videos to consider.

FBI’s own statistics reveal that no one died in the Sandy Hook shooting:

Before you go and accuse us of being “insensitive” to tragedy, take a look and see the official number of deaths in Newtown, CT, in 2012. Why are the “27 victims” of the Sandy Hook shooting not on the FBI list? Hmm…looks like the FBI agrees with us.

By now, you can clearly see who the real perpetrators of ‘fake news’ actually are. Its brought to you by our own government, and by the crooked and corrupt pretend news media who spend 24 hours per day broadcasting stories that are various degrees of falsehood.

And what they are so upset about this year is that because of WikiLeaks, they were unable to use their ‘fake news’ to elect Hillary Clinton as president. The American people rejected their nonsense and journalistic lies, and they were left swinging in the breeze.

As Kramer said so many years ago “the only true news is the alternative media“.

CNN Crew Jokes about Donald Trump's Plane Crashing

CNN Correspondent Suzanne Malveauxjoke was covering the Carrier press conference, that featured both Donald Trump and Mike Pence.

Carrier was able to negotiate huge tax breaks for their company, if they promised not to move all their jobs to Mexico.

FTVLive has obtained video of Malveauxjoke before her live hit on CNN. The crew was waiting on Trump's appearance at the press conference and waiting for his plane to land.

At one point the crew joked about Trump's plane crashing.

Yep....this is CNN.

CNN Apologizes to Trump After Crew Caught Joking About His Plane Crashing

The network says the producer has been "disciplined."

CNN has apologized to Donald Trump after a producer was caught on camera joking with reporter Suzanne Malveaux about the president-elect's plane crashing.

The remark was made before a live shot on Thursday.

The unidentified producer, in footage obtained and posted on YouTube by Scott Jones of FTV Live, can be heard saying "That means his plane’s crashed. No, I'm kidding."

CNN released a statement Friday saying the producer had been "disciplined."

“An unfortunate and inappropriate remark was made by one of our producers off camera yesterday," CNN said in its statement. "We have apologized to the Trump transition team, and the producer has been disciplined.”

Trump has been a huge critic of the network essentially since he announced his bid for president, saying it has covered him unfairly. Even this week, he was criticizing the network through Twitter.

Gunman charged after threatening DC restaurant hit by fake news
[Reuters]
December 4, 2016

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A man who took a rifle into a Washington pizza restaurant on Sunday "to self-investigate" a fake news report that it was operating a child abuse ring has been charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, police in the U.S. capital said.

Washington's Metropolitan Police Department said in a statement that Edgar Maddison Welch, 28, of Salisbury, North Carolina, was charged after the incident at Comet Ping Pong restaurant in Washington near the Maryland border on Sunday afternoon.

The suspect entered the restaurant and pointed a gun at a restaurant employee, who fled and notified authorities, police said. The man then discharged the weapon inside the restaurant. There were no injuries.

Two weapons were found inside the restaurant and a third one was recovered from the man's vehicle, police added.

They said the suspect during an interview with investigators "revealed that he came to the establishment to self-investigate 'Pizza Gate' (a fictitious online conspiracy theory)," the police statement said.

Last month, media outlets including the Washington Post and New York Times, reported about death threats against the owner of the restaurant after internet postings said the restaurant was operating a child abuse ring led by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her top campaign aide.

Police said there was no active investigation of child abuse allegations there. The attack on Comet was considered an example of how fake news reports that proliferated during the election year affected people's lives.

A Reuters witness at the restaurant with his 1-year-old child said it was crowded when the gunman entered, with many families dining.

The Reuters witness who was inside Comet at around 3 p.m. ET (2000 GMT) said he was paying his bill when he saw a man entering the restaurant's front door. "It appeared to us he had a long rifle with him. We scattered," he said.

U.S. VP To Media 'We Don't Need You Guys Anymore'

There is a direct correlation  between populism growing across the globe, replacing the global "elite" one by one, and the fall of the mainstream media. The media has not become irrelevant because the globalists are falling, but rather the global elite are falling because the media has become irrelevant.

That is a very important distinction and a lesson learned in 2016 that must not ever be forgotten.

Populism is described as "a political doctrine that stems from a viewpoint of struggle between the populace and a ruling faction." Nationalism on the other hand is defined as "patriotic feeling, principles, or efforts."

Globalism is the exact opposite of both. Globalists believe what is best for the "international community," should override what is best for individual countries, basically sacrificing the welfare of a nation's populace to benefit the "international community" as a whole.

ONE GLOBALIST LEADER LEFT STANDING

With the passing of the Brexit referendum in the UK which caused David Cameron, the Prime Minister, to resign, the election of Donald Trump in the U.S. as a repudiation of globalist leader Barack Obama, the Italian referendum which caused  the Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi to resign,  and the recent announcement by French President Francois Hollande that he will not be seeking re-election,  there is one "global elite" leader left standing... Angela Merkel, who has suffered some major losses herself in Germany.

The image above, minus the X marks on their heads, has been going viral on social media, with messages like "Three pro-EU globalists down, one more pro-EU globalist to go," and "four down, Merkel to go", according to the Independent UK, in an article headlined "Last world leader standing: The photo that shows just how much the world has changed in 2016."

Each of these leaders have been seen as betrayers by the populists in their respective countries, putting the good of others above the good of those they were elected to represent, and each have been repudiated in elections and referendums in 2016 by the very people they have betrayed with their globalist policies.

Jobs, manufacturing, the economy, all sacrificed by the five globalists above in pursuit of their "New World Order," and all but one will be gone in 2017, with Angela Merkel seeking a fourth term, despite a "historic loss" in the Berlin state election in September, which many believe was a backlash against her open immigration policies.

GLOBALIST CHEERLEADERS (MSM) BECOME IRRELEVANT

The globalist supporting media in each of the "unexpected" losses had campaigned hard to prevent populism from overcoming globalism or to rephrase, to prevent the people from overcoming the elite and their agenda.

Before the Brexit vote, the media hyperventilated and claimed the whole world and markets would be "thrown in turmoil," in an attempt to influence the referendum results. Headlines from before the referendum included "Brexit 'would have huge economic impact and spark turmoil in global markets' from the Daily Mail and "Brexit would create turmoil and damage Irish trade," from the Irish Times. One of the most amusing headlines came from the UK Mirror at the time, who declared "Brexit could end Britain's hopes of hosting another World Cup or Olympics."

The same hyperbolic headlines proceeded Italy's recent referendum, with promising chaos if the "No" vote one and Renzi resigns.

The same type of howling preceded the U.S. elections with dire warnings of what would happen if Donald Trump beat globalist Hillary Clinton, where CNN headlined on November 6 with "US election 2016: this is the global market turmoil that would be triggered by a Donald Trump victory," to which not only didn't happen, but just the opposite occurred, as one day after the election, markets rallied and stocks soared, with increases still being seen as CNBC reports  today that "Stocks have been on a rip-roaring rally since the U.S. election."

One pattern here is that in every case, the mainstream media had attempted to influence the outcome, always in favor of the globalists, but the more important pattern is that the populace in each instance in their respective countries..... ignored them. Ignored the consistent flow of skewed polls claiming the "populist" candidate or position had no chance, ignored the constant negative stories being slammed out daily, in many case multiple times a day, against the candidate or position the media didn't favor.

While polling over the decades has shown an increase of distrust toward the mainstream media, until 2016, they were still able to influence primaries, elections, referendums and votes....... those days are gone, and that is why the global elite are panicking.

FORMER U.S. VP TO MEDIA 'WE DON'T NEED YOU GUYS ANYMORE'

Former U.S. VP Dick Cheney recently sat down with Former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta and CNN's Barbara Starr at the Reagan Library, and said something horrifying to the mainstream media and the globalists.

Love him or hate him...... the truth is the truth.

Starr asked Cheney about the language of President-elect Trump's tweets and after answering her Cheney stated "I think one of the reasons people get so concerned about the tweets is it is sort of a way around the press. He doesn't have to rely upon, uh, rely upon -- this is the modern era, modern technology. He's at the point where we don't need you guys anymore."

The laughter from the audience is clearly heard... but nothing from CNN's Starr, because those are the words the global elite and the MSM are all terrified of... because they are the truth.

That comment comes at the 3:20 minute mark in the clip below:

BOTTOM LINE

The mainstream media and their "fake news," along with their "fake polls," using skewed demographics intended to create an illusion meant to influence the public, has failed, and with it they took the last thing propping up globalism and touting it as the "way forward," in an attempt to create a New World Order.

The term "leader of the free world" has often been used to describe the United States and more commonly the U.S. President of the United States, and having a populist U.S. President is a tremendous blow to globalists across the world, so it is no coincidence that after an election to where the 'populist' candidate won, Clinton has teamed up with Green Party candidate Jill Stein to petition for recounts in the three states that Trump flipped, which if successful would hand the election to the globalist candidate Hillary Clinton.

It is also no coincidence that organized protests, funded by globalist George Soros, have been seen across America after the election or that we are seeing dire warnings of "bloody Friday," with reports warning that ISIS could attack on inauguration day.

The panicked globalists will not give up....

Earnest Forced To Cite First Amendment FOUR TIMES, As Press Corps Insists White House Censor News

White House press secretary Josh Earnest was forced to remind the press corps the federal government can’t censor news because of the First Amendment, in a bizarre exchange during a White House press briefing Monday.

“Obviously, there are some important First Amendment issues that come into play when we’re having this discussion,” Earnest said, rebuffing a call for the White House to work toward censoring “fake news” on social media. He brought up the constitutional prohibition on censorship three more times before the conversation ended.

New York Times White House correspondent Gardiner Harris had asked Earnest whether the administration treats threats based on “fake news” — such as the man who recently entered a Washington, D.C., pizza shop with a gun to investigate something he read online — the same as it treats terror threats. The implication was that the White House should get Facebook to censor “fake news” the same way it has pushed Facebook to censor these terrorists.

“I’ve never heard you talk about what the administration is doing, even not just on a law enforcement basis but a policy basis, reaching out to these Silicon Valley companies,” he said to Earnest. “I mean, the President has recently been discussing the problem of fake news on Facebook. Why hasn’t there been a concern — a growing concern on the part of the administration about what seems to be a growing amount of vitriol directed at a variety of people, sometimes violent vitriol, within the United States?”

Earnest replied by noting that while the president is “concerned” about the impact of rhetoric on the country, he does not have the ability to censor free speech or to push Facebook to treat American citizens as it would foreign terrorists who are not constitutionally protected.

“Obviously, there are some important First Amendment issues that come into play when we’re having this discussion,” he said. “Those First Amendment issues aren’t prioritized in the same way when we’re talking about overseas terrorist organizations that don’t enjoy the same kinds of protections that American citizens do.”

Facebook would have to decide for itself how it wants to treat the use of its platform to spread certain ideas, and balance whether it wants to risk alienating a large portion of its users in order to censor information. “They’ve got their own built-in interest in protecting the First Amendment rights of their users while also creating a community and a platform that people actually want to use,” he said.

Unsatisfied with his response, Gardiner pressed: “Do you think the market just will have to police itself on that then?”

His question forced Earnest to once again remind the reporter that the government cannot censor free speech. “Given the First Amendment questions that are raised, the role for the government to play in all of this is going to be necessarily limited by that.”

Journalists Struggle To Define ‘Fake News’ Even As They Declare War On It Via @dailycaller

In the weeks following Donald Trump’s unexpected victory in last month’s election, liberal journalists have launched an all-out assault on “fake news,” which some have blamed for the disconnect between political journalists and everyday Americans.

But many of those same journalists seem unable to agree on a consistent definition of what “fake news” is, oftentimes pushing leading conservative and alternative media organizations that provide ideological balance in the public forum under the same “fake news” umbrella alongside websites whose entire purpose is generating viral hoaxes.

Left-leaning BuzzFeed News’ coverage of “fake news” — which has been subject to accusations of misleading the public in service of a narrative —  has focused on hoax websites run by teenagers in Macedonia pushing out lies like “Pope Francis endorses Donald Trump.”

Other left-leaning news organizations, meanwhile, have lumped in legitimate news organizations alongside objectively fake sources.

A list of “fake news” sites compiled by a liberal college professor — a list that was uncritically accepted and distributed by some liberal journalists — included top right-of-center sites like Independent Journal Review (IJR) and The Blaze alongside objectively fake sites. Left-leaning media organizations like the Los Angeles Times and New York magazine distributed the list to their readers.

One website that the Washington Post labeled “fake news” — without providing a single piece of evidence — is threatening to sue the Post for defamation, after being included on a similar list.

In an article last summer, liberal New York Magazine writer Brian Feldman tried to argue that “conservative news” and “fake news” are the same thing.

That some liberal journalists are lumping in legitimate news organizations alongside objectively false sites while at the same time calling for censorship of fake news has lead to concerns that the crackdown on fake news sites — the actual influence of which remains unknown — will be used by liberals to censor their conservative competitors.

Forbes contributor Frank Miniter argued that some liberals are using the “fake news” controversy to invite “government control over First Amendment-protected speech or by asking Facebook and Twitter to become even bigger censors of certain views.”

In an interview with conservative site LifeZette, Media Research Center director of media analysis Tim Graham warned, “The danger here is that when liberals try to define ‘fake news,’ it can be defined as ‘fake angles,’ as in ‘things that should not be explored,’ like paying for protesters.”

The sub-headline for that article read, “Liberals take aim at right-leaning media outlets under the guise of taking down ‘fake’ news.”

After conservative website The Daily Wire was listed as “fake news” without justification, contributor John Nolte warned that the “fake news” label is being used by frustrated liberal journalists to censor conservative viewpoints.

“The mainstream media put itself on the 2016 presidential ballot, lost,” Nolte wrote, “and now they want to silence competing ideas by smearing, marginalizing and, yes, blacklisting us as spreaders of Fake News.”

Lyin’ Brian Williams slams ‘fake news’

Brian Williams, the disgraced former golden boy anchor of NBC’s “Nightly News” knows a thing or two about “fake news,” which may explain why the MSNBC host decided to tackle the hot-button topic and provide his own unique perspective on the dangers of failing to report the truth.

“As we talked about here last night, fake news played a role in this election and continues to find a wide audience,” said Williams during the Wednesday broadcast of MSNBC’s “The 11th Hour.”

Not surprisingly, Williams’ comment on “fake news” and the election of Donald Trump didn’t go unnoticed by those familiar with the newsman’s past penchant for storytelling and his well-known compulsion to exaggerate his journalistic bona fides.

“Yes, Williams actually said that, and while managing to keep a straight face. Just giving the guy credit where it’s due,” snarked Jack Coleman of Newsbusters. “His decrying of ‘fake news’ suggests that MSNBC is no place for this sort of thing. But if that were true, shouldn’t MSNBC refrain from having Brian Williams – of all people in the network’s employ – report on fake news to begin with? At the very least, shouldn’t some sort of disclaimer run across the bottom of the screen, something to the effect – ‘Warning: MSNBC anchor condemning fake news has repeatedly engaged in the practice.'”

“If there’s an Emmy for chutzpah, Williams just won it,” added Coleman.

Game-show host and Trump supporter Chuck Woolery took to Twitter on Thursday to weigh in on the “fake news” controversy.

As WND reported, Williams also had tongues wagging in July over his breaking-news announcement about the Nice, France, terror attack. He used the phrase “plowing over” while wrapping up a discussion on the carnage inflicted by a terrorist who used a truck to kill holiday revelers.

In 2015, Williams was suspended for six months without pay and eventually booted from his position as managing editor and anchor of NBC’s “Nightly News” amid the controversy generated by his comments about his reporting during the Iraq war and Hurricane Katrina.

NBC News released a statement when Williams was initially suspended that read:

While on Nightly News on Friday, January 30, 2015, Brian misrepresented events which occurred while he was covering the Iraq War in 2003. It then became clear that on other occasions Brian had done the same while telling that story in other venues. This was wrong and completely inappropriate for someone in Brian’s position. In addition, we have concerns about comments that occurred outside NBC News while Brian was talking about his experiences in the field. As Managing Editor and Anchor of Nightly News, Brian has a responsibility to be truthful and to uphold the high standards of the news division at all times.

Williams later apologized for claiming to have been aboard a helicopter in Iraq when it was hit by enemy fire.

“I made a mistake in recalling the events of 12 years ago,” Williams told NBC News viewers.

He ultimately lost his top-rated NBC anchor chair and was assigned a lesser role within the news division with a late-night slot on MSNBC.

Following his suspension, Williams was mercilessly made fun of by some of the biggest names in comedy during the 40th anniversary special of “Saturday Night Live.”

Jerry Seinfeld said he was surprised by a little-known piece of information about “SNL.”

“You know there are so many things about ‘Saturday Night Live’ that people don’t know. For example, one of the original cast members in 1975 was Brian Williams,” Seinfeld clowned to rousing laughter. “I don’t know if that’s true, but I never heard that. It doesn’t sound true. It might not be.”

Watch Jerry Seinfeld mock Brian Williams:

Earlier this year, Williams was targeted for ire when he compared President Obama to Richard Pryor. He was also criticized in recent months for what some viewers said was his overly harsh coverage of Trump and for his reports on the shooting of police in Dallas.

While covering the news of the shooting, Williams started referencing the death of President John F. Kennedy, which occurred just blocks from the site of the sniper-cops’ killing.

‘Today’ Show Deceives With Image of Freddie Gray Protests to Urge Calm After S. Carolina Mistrial
Next, they’ll be telling us what “fake news” to watch out for.

After a hung jury had led to the mistrial of former South Carolina law enforcement Officer Michael Slager, charged with shooting unarmed black man Walter Scott in the back, Matt Lauer took his post at the Today Show on NBC to urge calm in the community. In the process, a year-old photo of the Freddie Gray protests was deceitfully edited and aired to make it appear as if it was currently happening in Charleston.

But it didn’t take long for South Carolina Senator Larry Grooms to see that NBC was pulling a fast one and so, he called them out:

“I am proud of my home, and it angers me when media folks like our friends at the Today Show project false and misleading images of my home. After the mistrial, there was no racial unrest, and there were no protests in the streets. However, the Today Show producers decided that there should be. When they aired their story about the mistrial, they showed images of an April 2015 protest that took place in Baltimore, MD.”

Wisconsin Sheriff David Clarke wondered if Lauer “believes all black people look the same.”

“Walter Scott, Freddie Gray. I guess The Today Show just can’t keep it all straight,” Clarke wrote on his blog.

But as Sen. Grooms also noted, words from the protest signs in the original Associated Press photo were apparently photoshopped out so that it couldn't be traced to Baltimore or Gray.

“Behold Charleston as the producers want it to look, not as it actually is,” he said.

The best part: the video was removed from NBC’s website, but a thoughtful YouTuber mirrored it on his page (above).

Next week, Matt Lauer and the entire Today Show gang will let us know what “fake news” to avoid as we navigate a Trump administration. We're sure, however, they won't include their program.

Fake News Exposed — Reporter Tweets Totally False Claim Trump Supporters Were Booing The Late John Glenn

Newsweek reporter Kurt Eichenwald is the definition of fake news.

Eichenwald tweeted Thursday night that attendees at Donald Trump’s victory rally actually booed when the President-elect announced the passing of the late, great John Glenn.

He would later go on to delete the tweet, but not before being screenshotted by Mediaite’s Alex Griswold and receiving thousands of retweets.

Trump supporters booed John Glenn when Trump mentioned his name at today’s rally,” he wrote. “A real American hero who risked his life [for] us. They booed.”

Eichenwald doubled down on the claim, which was soon to be proven totally false.

@misdaws He just moved on, said “maybe they’ll come around.” I think context was that Glenn was a democrat.

    — Kurt Eichenwald (@kurteichenwald) December 9, 2016

Just as Eichenwald was poo-pooing Iowans who voted for Trump, LA Times reporter Mike Memoli tweeted what really happened.

Post-election Trump: as protesters heckle and crowd boos them, he says: “I think they’re actually on our side. They just don’t know it yet.” pic.twitter.com/qFSH3qUVUE

    — Mike Memoli (@mikememoli) December 9, 2016

Memoli explained that the booing Eichenwald referenced was actually directed at hecklers holding a sign reading, “Iowa says no.”

He also included Trump’s joke about the interruption: “I think they’re actually on our side. They just don’t know it yet.”

After being exposed, Eichenwald apologized for his mistake with a third tweet.

I believe I was in error that Trump supporters booed Glenn. This seems to be 2 events at same time: Ppl booing Trump as he mentions Glenn.

HILLARY CLINTON WHO LIED TO AMERICA ABOUT MUSLIM VIDEO NOW WARNS AGAINST FAKE NEWS ‘EPIDEMIC’
Clinton said the spread of fake news, which has "flooded social media over the past year," is a trend that "can have real world consequences." She made the comments at a portrait unveiling and retirement ceremony for outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.

HILLARY CLINTON, SPEAKING IN PUBLIC THURSDAY FOR ONE OF THE FIRST TIMES SINCE LOSING THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION A MONTH AGO, CALLED THE PROLIFERATION OF FAKE NEWS “AN EPIDEMIC.”

So-called fake news — often blatant falsehoods passed off online as the truth and spread by conspiracy theorists — rose to prominence around the 2016 campaign. Clinton said the spread of fake news, which has “flooded social media over the past year,” is a trend that “can have real world consequences.” She made the comments at a portrait unveiling and retirement ceremony for outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid.

HILLARY CLINTON, THE BENGHAZI LIAR, NOW TACKLES FAKE NEWS:

So, Hillary Clinton thinks that fake news – intentionally false stories pretending to be true – should be dealt with by Congress? That we should pass a law to punish the fake news people? What a great idea! She and Obama can both be brought to trial to answer for their intentional fake news story about the Muslim YouTube video causing the Benghazi attacks that killed 4 Americans on 9/11/2012.

OBAMA AND HILLARY BLAME MUSLIM VIDEO FOR BENGHAZI TERRORIST ATTACK AS COFFINS ARRIVE:
This is what it looks like when American lives are intentionally sacrificed and the president and Secretary of State look into the camera and lie about how it happened. This is the real fake news, dispensed 24 hours a day by the liberal media and obscene, filthy liars like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

From helping to get a child rapist set free to the Rose Law Firm and TravelGate, Hillary Clinton has spent her entire adult career creating and spreading fake news. The liberal news sites like CNN and MSNBC that promote and protect her have published fake news for decades.

A Clinton Fan Manufactured Fake News That MSNBC Personalities Spread to Discredit WikiLeaks Docs

THE PHRASE “FAKE NEWS” has exploded in usage since the election, but the term is similar to other malleable political labels such as “terrorism” and “hate speech”; because the phrase lacks any clear definition, it is essentially useless except as an instrument of propaganda and censorship. The most important fact to realize about this new term: Those who most loudly denounce Fake News are typically those most aggressively disseminating it.

One of the most egregious examples was the recent Washington Post article hyping a new anonymous group and its disgusting blacklist of supposedly pro-Russia news outlets — a shameful article mindlessly spread by countless journalists who love to decry Fake News, despite the Post article itself being centrally based on Fake News. (The Post this week finally added a lame editor’s note acknowledging these critiques; the Post editors absurdly claimed that they did not mean to “vouch for the validity” of the blacklist even though the article’s key claims were based on doing exactly that).

Now we have an even more compelling example. Back in October, when WikiLeaks was releasing emails from the John Podesta archive, Clinton campaign officials and their media spokespeople adopted a strategy of outright lying to the public, claiming — with no basis whatsoever — that the emails were doctored or fabricated and thus should be ignored. That lie — and that is what it was: a claim made with knowledge of its falsity or reckless disregard for its truth — was most aggressively amplified by MSNBC personalities such as Joy Ann Reid and Malcolm Nance, The Atlantic’s David Frum, and Newsweek’s Kurt Eichenwald.

That the emails in the Wikileaks archive were doctored or faked — and thus should be disregarded — was classic Fake News, spread not by Macedonian teenagers or Kremlin operatives but by established news outlets such as MSNBC, The Atlantic, and Newsweek. And, by design, this Fake News spread like wildfire all over the internet, hungrily clicked and shared by tens of thousands of people eager to believe it was true. As a result of this deliberate disinformation campaign, anyone reporting on the contents of the emails was instantly met with claims that the documents in the archive had been proven fake.

The most damaging such claim came from MSNBC’s intelligence analyst Malcolm Nance. As I documented on October 11, he tweeted what he — for some bizarre reason — labeled an “Official Warning.” It decreed: “#PodestaEmails are already proving to be riddled with obvious forgeries & #blackpropaganda not even professionally done.” That tweet was re-tweeted by more than 4,000 people. It was vested with added credibility by Clinton-supporting journalists like Reid and Frum (“expert to take seriously”).

All of that, in turn, led to an article in something called the “Daily News Bin” with the headline: “MSNBC intelligence expert: WikiLeaks is releasing falsified emails not really from Hillary Clinton.” This classic fake news product — citing Nance and Reid among others — was shared more than 40,000 times on Facebook alone.

Yahoo Spreads Fake News Story About Hillary Getting Most Votes 'Ever'
4 million votes off

The left has been pushing a false narrative that conservatives are responsible for "fake news" stories, and that those stories led to Hillary's loss in the election. Turns out, Yahoo News pushed one of those stories, only in Hillary's favor.

According to Yahoo News, Hillary won the most votes "ever received," even though she's 4 million votes off the mark. Not 10,000 or 100,000, but 4 million votes. How did they miss that one?

"Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has garnered at least 65,527,625 votes in the 2016 presidential election, the most any presidential candidate has ever received and over 2.6 million more than the president-elect, who has received at least 62,851,436 votes," they reported.

Not even close. That record (unfortunately) goes to Barack Obama in 2008 when he garnered 69,499,428 votes. Hillary didn't even cross his 2012 number of 65,915,795 votes. This isn't just fake news, but propaganda from the Kremlin.

Yahoo News has since removed the piece, issuing no apology or explanation. It has vanished without a trace. Here's a screenshot to prove it's veracity:

The real people trying to hack the election

Brian Kemp seeks Donald Trump's aid in alleged hacking

Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp on Wednesday asked President-elect Donald Trump to investigate the Department of Homeland Security's apparent attempt to hack his office's computer system.

In a letter to Trump, Kemp asked that the president-elect to act once he is sworn in to office in January.

emp said he is not satisfied with the response from current DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson.

"Since contacting DHS with these concerns, we have collaborated with the agency and provided extensive, additional information," Kemp wrote. "Last night I received a letter from Secretary Johnson which lacked any specific information as to the attacks' intent or origin despite the fact that many questions remain unanswered."

Kemp's office detected what he called a "large attack on our system" in November. His staff was able to trace the alleged attacker back to the Department of Homeland Security.

DHS has denied it tried to break through the state's computer firewall. An agency spokesman did not immediately return requests for comment Wednesday.

DHS has said previously that it believes an employee was legitimately using databases on the Secretary of State's website and that the employee's computer was configured incorrectly. That configuration mistakenly made it look like the employee was trying to hack into Kemp's systems.

In a letter to Kemp on Tuesday, Johnson blamed a Microsoft product for the error, but Kemp is not convinced.

"The scenario DHS has proposed has still not been verified by Microsoft," Kemp wrote Johnson late Tuesday. "There are still many questions regarding the origin and intent of this attack that remain unanswered."

A WORLD FILLED WITH FAKE NEWS (Friday Church News Notes, December 16, 2016, www.wayoflife.org, fbns@wayoflife.org, 866-295-4143) - The American media is abuzz with talk about “fake news.” According to “the left,” fake news emanates from “the right,” and according to “the right,” it emanates from “the left.” Fake news is the publication of lies and distortions, and according to the Bible, the world’s media is filled to the brim with “fake news” on all sides of the political spectrum, because we live in a fallen, spiritually-dark world. Fake news includes positive references to and support for Darwinian evolution, the big bang, the right to abortion, the right to die, homosexual rights, animal rights, man’s innate goodness, atheism, humanism, universalism, pantheism, panentheism, the force, self-esteemism, astrology, the Age of Aquarius, theological liberalism, JEDP, alcoholism as a disease, the power of positive thinking. Everything contrary to God’s Word is fake news. Thankfully, the good Lord has given unworthy sinners a Book of pure truth containing Good News. “To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them” (Isaiah 8:20).

Montage: The Media’s 10 Most Mortifying Moments of 2016
‘What would the gator be thinking?’

In a year known mostly for mayhem, misfortune, and madness, America’s media quickly proved themselves fit for narrating this first draft of history. All too often, when the news got tough, the TV news got weird.

Embarrassingly weird.

While picking 10 of the most egregious examples was no easy task, we’ve whittled thousands of clips down to four minutes’ worth that we think represent 2016 in a (really disfigured) nutshell.

Without further ado, here are the media’s 10 most mortifying moments of 2016.

10. After Donald Trump’s underdog victory, many in the media looked for scapegoats. But Comedy Central’s Samantha Bee went the furthest — blaming white people for “ruining” America.

9. Hillary notoriously avoided direct questions from the press all year. So when Lester Holt became one of the few to somehow score a sit down with Mrs. Clinton, his softballs-only interview was journalistically humiliating.

8. Cuba’s long time dictator expired this year, and many in America’s media … mourned.

7. Perhaps not historically significant, but a particularly comical case of media malpractice came when an enchanted Andrea Mitchell breathlessly recapped the “magical” evening she was having at a Hillary rally.

6. Over on PBS, David Brooks and David Corn somehow connected the dots between Ted Cruz and Satan.

5. After the devastating mass slaughter in Orlando, the media embraced its unfortunate habit of speculating where things went wrong — looking everywhere, it seemed, besides Islamic terrorism.

4. After another tragedy — this time an alligator snatching a toddler from a Disney World beachfront — CNN’s Brooke Baldwin thankfully had the presence of mind to ask a local animal expert … what the alligator was thinking.

3. On MSNBC, the now-canceled Melissa Harris Perry worried that Flint, Mich., might become Obama’s … Fugitive Slave Act?

2. After Orlando, many progressive congressmen staged a sit-in on the floor of the House of Representatives. The media, you might be unsurprised to discover, went absolutely bananas with delight.

1. If there was one thing the media was absolutely sure of in 2016, it was … Hillary Clinton’s inevitable landslide victory. Whoops.

Did we miss one of your favorites? Let us know in the comments below.

http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/the-dictionary-folk-at-merriam-webster-sum-up-2016-surreal/ar-AAlIUGj?OCID=ansmsnnews11
The dictionary folk at Merriam-Webster sum up 2016: surreal

12/19/16

NEW YORK (AP) — Was 2016 a dream or a nightmare?

Try something in between: "surreal," which is Merriam-Webster's word of the year, unveiled Monday.

Meaning "marked by the intense irrational reality of a dream," or "unbelievable, fantastic," the word joins Oxford's "post-truth" and Dictionary.com's "xenophobia" as the year's top choices.

"It just seems like one of those years," said Peter Sokolowski, Merriam-Webster's editor at large.

The company tracks year-over-year growth and spikes in lookups of words on its website to come up with the top choice. This time around, there were many periods of interest in "surreal" throughout the year, often in the aftermath of tragedy, Sokolowski said.

Major spikes came after the Brussels attack in March and again in July, after the Bastille Day massacre in Nice and the attempted coup in Turkey. All three received huge attention around the globe and had many in the media reaching for "surreal" to describe both the physical scenes and the "mental landscapes," Sokolowski said.

The single biggest spike in lookups came in November, he said, specifically Nov. 9, the day Donald Trump went from candidate to president-elect.

There were also smaller spikes, including after the death of Prince in April at age 57 and after the June shootings at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

Irony mixed with the surreal for yet another bump after the March death of Garry Shandling. His first sitcom, "It's Garry Shandling's Show," premiered on Showtime in 1986 and had him busting through the fourth wall, speaking directly to the audience and mimicking his real life as a standup comedian, but one who knew he was starring in a TV show.

"It was surreal and it's connected to the actual original meaning of surreal, which is to say it comes from Surrealism, the artistic movement of the early 20th century," Sokolowski said.

Which is to say that "surreal" didn't exist as a word until around 1924, after a group of European poets, painters and filmmakers founded a movement they called Surrealism. They sought to access the truths of the unconscious mind by breaking down rational thought.

It wasn't until 1937 that "surreal" began to exist on its own, said Sokolowski, who is a lexicographer.

Merriam-Webster first started tracking lookup trends in 1996, when the dictionary landed online. In 2001, after the 9/11 terror attacks, the Springfield, Massachusetts-based company noticed plenty of spikes in word lookups. The most enduring spike was for "surreal," pointing to a broader meaning and greater usage, Sokolowski said.

"We noticed the same thing after the Newtown shootings, after the Boston Marathon bombings, after Robin Williams' suicide," he said. "Surreal has become this sort of word that people seek in moments of great shock and tragedy."

Word folk like Sokolowski can't pinpoint exactly why people look words up online, but they know it's not only to check spellings or definitions. Right after 9/11, words that included "rubble" and "triage" spiked, he said. A couple days after that, more political words took over in relation to the tragedy, including "jingoism" and "terrorism."

"But then we finally hit 'surreal,' so we had a concrete response, a political response and finally a philosophical response," Sokolowski said. "That's what connects all these tragic events."

Other words that made Merriam-Webster's Top 10 for 2016 due to significant spikes in lookups:

BIGLY: Yes, it's a word but a rare and sometimes archaic form of "big," dating to around 1400, Sokolowski said. It made its way into the collective mind thanks to Trump, who was fond of using "big league" as an adverb but making it sound like bigly.

DEPLORABLE: Thank you, Hillary Clinton and your basket full of, though it's not technically a noun.

IRREGARDLESS: It's considered a "nonstandard" word for regardless. It's best avoided, Sokolowski said. Irregardless was used during the calling of the last game of the World Series and its use was pilloried on social media, he said.

ICON: This spike came after Prince's April 21 death, along with surreal. "It was just a moment of public mourning, the likes of which really happen very seldom," Sokolowski said.

ASSUMPSIT: At the Democratic National Convention, Elizabeth Warren was introduced by one her former law students at Harvard, Rep. Joseph P. Kennedy III of Massachusetts. He described how on his first day she asked him for the definition of assumpsit and he didn't know.

"She said, 'Mr. Kennedy do you own a dictionary?' so everybody looked it up," Sokolowski laughed.

For the record: It's a legal term with Latin roots for a type of implied promise or contract. Kennedy didn't define it when he told the story.

FAUTE DE MIEUX: Literally, this French phrase means "lack of something better or more desirable." Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg used it in a brief concurring opinion in June to support a ruling that struck down a Texas law that would have closed all but nine abortion clinics in the state.

IN OMNIA PARATUS: A Latin phrase for "ready for all things." Curiosity surfaced when Netflix revived "Gilmore Girls" recently, including reference to this famous chant during an episode in the original series where Rory is talked into leaping off a high platform as part of the initiation for a secret society at Yale. It became a rallying cry for fans of the show.

REVENANT: Leonardo DiCaprio played one in a movie of the same name, sending people scurrying to the dictionary. It describes "one that returns after death or a long absence." It can be traced to the 1820s and while it sounds biblical, it is not, Sokolowski said.

FECKLESS: It's how Vice President-elect Mike Pence described President Obama's foreign policy when he debated Democrat Tim Kaine. It means weak or worthless.

6 Reasons Why ABC News Is Unqualified to Label ‘Fake News’

Facebook announced last week that the social media company would be teaming up with sources such as ABC News, Politifact, and Snopes to identify and eradicate “fake news” across Facebook. But each of the sources vetting the so called “fake news” have a track record of partisan politics, regularly pushing a left-leaning bias to their viewers.
ABC News has a long history of false reporting, lying, and even entirely fabricating stories. Here are six of ABC’s most blatant acts of “fake news” that demonstrate why appointing this news network as the arbiter of truth is far from a good idea.

1: In one of the most blatant acts of dishonesty and manipulation, ABC News set up a fake police crime scene in order to fool their viewers into believing that ABC reporters were actually at a the site of a kidnapping in Woodruff, South Carolina. The news segment appeared on Good Morning America  and featured ABC reporter Lindsey Davis standing in front of what appeared to viewers to be a police crime scene cordon with a bright yellow strip of tape that read “SHERIFF’S LINE DO NOT CROSS.”

In reality, ABC producers had strung the tape between two tripods behind the reporter in order to give the illusion that she was present at the crime scene. CNNMoney initially reported on the story. saying, “Sources with knowledge of the matter say the tape was placed there by ABC News.”

2: Another segment featured ABC reporter John Quinones going undercover, pretending to be arrested by a police officer in an attempt to prove a point about a newly passed Arizona law that would allow police to investigate people that they suspected to reside in the US illegally. However, no such law in Arizona gives police officers the right to arrest or search anyone simply because of the colour of their skin. ABC purposefully misrepresented the law in an attempt to create controversy. The episode of ABC’s very own reality TV show, What Would You Do, can be watched here.

3: In 2009 ABC ran a climate change news special called Earth 2100. This piece of supposedly undeniable scientific evidence and thorough research claimed that by 2015 we’d be paying $9 per gallon for gasoline, that milk would cost $13 a gallon, and that many other parts of the US would be under water thanks to what ABC called “settled science.” Proof that these predictions are entirely untrue is quite evident. However ABC had no issue with pushing the fear mongering angle on this story, even claiming that we  may be “living in the last century of our civilization.”

4: In 2012 ABC investigative correspondent Brian Ross implied that James Holmes, the gunman behind the mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado, was a member of the political group known as the Tea Party. Ross’s entire basis for this claim was simply that a man named Jim Holmes was listed on a single web page as a member of Colorado Tea Party Patriots. It seems that Ross did not further investigate the identity of the man, or if he did he never publicly announced it, instead he reported the fact to ABC host George Stephanopoulos who referred to it as “significant.”

It of course transpired that Jim Holmes was not the gunman behind the Aurora shootings but simply had a similar name, and Ross’s reporting was seen as a blatant smear attempt on the Tea Party, which he later apologised for.

5: ABC host George Stephanopoulos also has a long history as serving the Democratic party as a political advisor and even served as White House Communications Director under the Bill Clinton administration. He is also a prominent donator to the Clinton Foundation, something which he failed to disclose to ABC News before conducting a hostile interview with Clinton Cash author and Breitbart Editor at Large Peter Schweizer. Stephanopoulos apologized following the revelation and recused himself from moderating the February 2015 Republican primary debate as a result, but ABC took no disciplinary action in response to the violation of journalistic standards.

6: In another example of complete misrepresentation and a subsequent about face, ABC News reported that George Zimmerman had received no injuries on the back of his head the night that Trayvon Martin died, contradicting Zimmerman’s own claims. To prove this, ABC provided a video of Zimmerman being arrested and stated that the video “shows no blood or bruises on George Zimmerman.” Just two days later, MSNBC ran a story contradicting ABC News’ version of events with a higher quality version of the video footage where blood and scratch marks were visible on Zimmerman’s head. Five days after their initial report, ABC ran another story claiming that they had “digitally enhanced” the footage and were now able to see the visible marks on Zimmerman’s head. ABC admitted no fault on their part in the initial reporting on Zimmerman’s injuries.

Facebook will be testing and rolling out their fake news updates in the coming weeks.

Mainstream Media & Washington Busted In Direct 'Fake News' Campaign Against American Public

A series of events occurred in 2013, which when looked through the prism of present day events, shows us how the Obama administration, with the help of its propaganda arm, known as the mainstream media, are waging a brainwashing campaign against the American public.

The first item from 2013 was highlighted this morning on Steve Quayle's site with a note stating "Important Flashback Reminder," leading us to  a July 2013 article at Tech Dirt, which detailed the repeal of the "anti-propaganda" law earlier in October 2013.

Fortunately, the government now has a chance to aim its official version of today's news at US citizens, thanks to the repeal of a so-called "anti-propaganda" law earlier this month.

For decades, a so-called anti-propaganda law prevented the U.S. government's mammoth broadcasting arm from delivering programming to American audiences. But on July 2, that came silently to an end with the implementation of a new reform passed in January. The result: an unleashing of thousands of hours per week of government-funded radio and TV programs for domestic U.S. consumption in a reform initially criticized as a green light for U.S. domestic propaganda efforts.

You can read the rest over at Tech Dirt, but the overall point is that as of the repealing of that law, the U.S. government was no longer blocked from deliberately feeding U.S. citizens any "fake news"  they wanted to, they could legally use propaganda against Americans in the same manner they were allowed to use it against foreign countries.

In October 2013, just months after the "Anti-propaganda" law was repealed, it was announced that Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos had purchased the Washington Post for $250 million.

By December 2013, the Washington Post was highly criticized for not disclosing the fact that the new owner, Jeff Bezos, had secured a $600 million contract from the CIA, as disclaimers in their articles.  The Institute for Public Accuracy published a well-written piece which highlights the conflict of interest of a media company owner having such ties with the CIA, yet not offering a disclaimer informing their audience of those ties in any article that references or is about the CIA.

McChesney said today: "When the main shareholder in one of the very largest corporations in the world benefits from a massive contract with the CIA on the one hand, and that same billionaire owns the Washington Post on the other hand, there are serious problems. The Post is unquestionably the political paper of record in the United States, and how it covers governance sets the agenda for the balance of the news media. Citizens need to know about this conflict of interest in the columns of the Post itself."

He added: "If some official enemy of the United States had a comparable situation — say the owner of the dominant newspaper in Caracas was getting $600 million in secretive contracts from the Maduro government — the Post itself would lead the howling chorus impaling that newspaper and that government for making a mockery of a free press. It is time for the Post to take a dose of its own medicine."

PRESENT DAY PROPAGANDA - WASHINGTON POST & THE CIA

During the 2016 presidential campaign season the Washington Post led the charge on attempting to influence the public into electing Hillary Clinton, with anti-Donald Trump propaganda written multiple times each day throughout the season, which was unsuccessful as Donald Trump ended up winning the election, thanks in large part to Independent Journalists across the Internet, countering the WaPo propaganda machine.

Then it was the Washington Post once again that highlighted a shadowy organization, referring to them as experts, that highlighted over 200 Independent media sites that reported on the Hillary Clinton campaign and DNC leaked emails that Wikileaks published, calling them sites that spread "Russia Propaganda."

Note- All the leaked emails have been verified as being unaltered, so what they are saying is that the "Russians" are to be blamed for Americans being told the truth, and it is Russias fault the DNC and the Clinton campaign were exposed for their corruption and collusion to help Clinton beat Bernie Sanders in the primary season, among the many revelations those leaks exposed.

Rather than accurately stating Americans were influenced by hearing the truth, they claim that telling the truth is really spreading Russian propaganda.

The Washington Post was so heavily criticized for quoting the shadowy organization that they were forced to add an editors note to their original propaganda story, which states in part :"One of them was PropOrNot, a group that insists on public anonymity, which issued a report identifying more than 200 websites that, in its view, wittingly or unwittingly published or echoed Russian propaganda. A number of those sites have objected to being included on PropOrNot’s list, and some of the sites, as well as others not on the list, have publicly challenged the group’s methodology and conclusions. The Post, which did not name any of the sites, does not itself vouch for the validity of PropOrNot’s findings regarding any individual media outlet...."

Then once again it was the Washington Post, the media outlet where the owner has direct ties with the CIA, that suddenly publishes the first article claiming the CIA had concluded that the Russians were behind the leaked DNC/Clinton emails that Wikileaks published. WaPo quoted "anonymous" sources, offered no proof, nor evidence, just "officials, said" and like good little Washington lapdogs, the rest of the MSM ran with it.

BOTTOM LINE

We are witnessing a direct attack against the American public by the CIA, Washington and their propaganda arm, which is the mainstream media, with Bezos and his paper leading the pack.  Washington set it up by repealing the "anti-propaganda" law which supposedly prevents the U.S. government from attempting to push "fake news" at Americans, then Bezos buys the Washington Post despite his direct ties to the CIA, and now he is pushing CIA propaganda at Americans.

While the mainstream media claims to be an independent and free press, they are no better than China's media, Iran's or Russia's, they have been bought,  paid for, and are owned... the MSM is state run media.

That is the real reason they are attacking Alternative Media so hard right now, because we have become the true Independent Media.
