The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. Danica Roem wins in Virginia, becoming first openly transgender state representative

Virginia’s most socially conservative state lawmaker was ousted from office Tuesday by Danica Roem , a Democrat who will be one of the nation’s first openly transgender elected officials and who embodies much of what Del. Robert G. Marchall fought against in Richmond.

Disney selling gay-themed Mickey Mouse ears

Disney has stirred controversy in recent years with its depictions of homosexuality in animated features for children, and now the iconic Mickey Mouse ears are available in a gay theme.

Exclusive to Disney World and Disneyland shops, “Mickey Mouse Rainbow Love,” selling for $17.99, can be customized with the wearer’s name in rainbow embroidery at an additional cost, according to the website Hornet, reported Christian News.

A social-media post with a photo of the Mickey Mouse ears said: “Disney World got gay ears and I need to get them just to [vulgarity] off old religious people.”

A Disney representative told the Huffington Post the company offers “a wide range of merchandise items that appeal to guests of diverse backgrounds.”

Last October, the Disney Channel teen series “Andi Mack” featured a “coming out scene” for one of its main male characters, noted Christian News.

WND reported in August the Disney Junior channel show “Doc McStuffins” featured a family headed by two lesbian “moms.” The show targets preschoolers and young children, and its website features child-friendly video games and print-out coloring pages.

Disney also announced last year that its new “Beauty and the Beast” movie would feature a gay character.

In March, a Planned Parenthood affiliate tweeted that what the world needs is “a disney princess who’s had an abortion” and is “pro-choice.”

Hawaii Governor Signs Bill Banning Help for Homosexual Youth, Claims 'Sexual Orientation Is Not an Illness'

The Democratic governor of Hawaii has signed a bill banning professional counselors from helping struggling youth resist homosexual feelings.

“Sexual orientation is not an illness to be cured,” Gov. David Ige claimed during the signing at the state capitol building on Friday. “We accept you and love you just the way you are.”

He asserted that efforts to change homosexual youth “absolutely [have] no place in our beautiful islands.” how is that lava working out for you?

Senate Bill 270, which passed the House earlier this month and the Senate in March, specifically prohibits professional counselors from providing “sexual orientation change efforts” to homosexual youth under 18. It contends that the services place homosexuals at risk of harm, “including depression, suicidality, loss of sexual feeling, anxiety, shame, negative self-image, and other negative feelings and behaviors.”

“No person who is licensed to provide professional counseling shall: (1) Engage in or attempt to engage in sexual orientation change efforts on a person under eighteen years of age; or (2) Advertise the offering of sexual orientation change efforts on a person under eighteen years of age,” the bill reads.

“Any person who is licensed to provide professional counseling who engages in or attempts to engage in the offering of sexual orientation change efforts on a person under eighteen years of age shall be subject to disciplinary action by the appropriate professional licensing authority,” it warns.

While counselors are prohibited from helping youth turn away from homosexuality, the legislation notes that the ban does not apply to any counselor who conversely “provides acceptance, support, and understanding of a person” who has homosexual feelings, or “facilitates a person’s coping, social support, and identity exploration and development…”

Mathew Shurka, a strategist with the “Born Perfect” campaign, which seeks to end “conversion therapy” in states nationwide, cheered the signing of the bill, stating, “As a survivor, I know how harmful conversion therapy can be, and I could not be happier that Hawaii has taken this important step to protect the health and safety of its LGBTQ youth from this terrible practice.”

As previously reported, the Scriptures teach that all men are born with the Adamic sin nature, and have inherent inclinations that are contrary to the law of God, being utterly incapable of helping themselves. It is why Jesus outlined in John 3:5-7 that men must be regenerated by the second birth, or they cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven.

“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God,” he declared. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

2 Corinthians 5:15-17 also teaches, “He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again. … Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

Tell that to the young boys that were forcefully raped by older perverted men - often authority figures. The old pervs know exactly what “turning” is. They know that deep shame will keep the boys quiet. And they know that the boys will become future abusers.

U.S. Supreme Court backs Christian baker who spurned gay

* Court says state panel violated baker's religious rights

* Ruling was 7-2, with 2 liberals joining 5 conservatives (Adds details on 2012 incident that triggered the case, Kennedy quote)

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday handed a victory on narrow grounds to a Colorado Christian baker who refused for religious reasons to make a wedding cake for a gay couple, stopping short of setting a major precedent allowing people to claim exemptions from anti-discrimination laws based on religious beliefs.

The justices, in a 7-2 decision, said the Colorado Civil Rights Commission showed an impermissible hostility toward religion when it found that baker Jack Phillips violated the state's anti-discrimination law by rebuffing gay couple David Mullins and Charlie Craig in 2012. The state law bars businesses from refusing service based on race, sex, marital status or sexual orientation.

The ruling concluded that the commission violated Phillips' religious rights under the U.S. Constitution's First Amendment.

But the justices did not issue a definitive ruling on the circumstances under which people can seek exemptions from anti-discrimination laws based on their religious views. The decision also did not address important claims raised in the case including whether baking a cake is a kind of expressive act protected by the Constitution's free speech guarantee.

Two of the court's four liberals, Stephen Breyer and Elena Kagan, joined the five conservative justices in the ruling authored by Justice Anthony Kennedy, who also was the author of the landmark 2015 decision legalizing gay marriage nationwide.

"The commission's hostility was inconsistent with the First Amendment's guarantee that our laws be applied in a manner that is neutral toward religion," Kennedy wrote.

But Kennedy also stressed the importance of gay rights while noting that litigation on similar issues is likely to continue in lower courts.

"Our society has come to the recognition that gay persons and gay couples cannot be treated as social outcasts or as inferior in dignity and worth," Kennedy wrote.

"The outcome of cases like this in other circumstances must await further elaboration in the courts, all in the context of recognizing that these disputes must be resolved with tolerance, without undue disrespect to sincere religious beliefs, and without subjecting gay persons to indignities when they seek goods and services in an open market," Kennedy added.

The case marked a test for Kennedy, who has authored significant rulings that advanced gay rights but also is a strong advocate for free speech rights and religious freedom.

Of the 50 states, 21 including Colorado have anti-discrimination laws protecting gay people.

The case pitted gay rights against religious liberty. President Donald Trump's administration intervened in the case in support of Phillips.

Mullins and Craig were planning their wedding in Massachusetts in 2012 and wanted the cake for a reception in Colorado, where gay marriage was not yet legal. During a brief encounter at Phillips' Masterpiece Cakeshop in the Denver suburb of Lakewood, the baker politely but firmly refused, leaving the couple distraught.

They filed a successful complaint with the state commission, the first step in the six-year-old legal battle. State courts sided with the couple, prompting Phillips to appeal to the top U.S. court. Phillips has said a backlash against his business has left him struggling to keep the shop afloat.

The case's outcome hinged on the actions of the Colorado commission. In one exchange at a 2014 hearing cited by Kennedy, former commissioner Diann Rice said that "freedom of religion, and religion, has been used to justify all kinds of discrimination throughout history, whether it be slavery, whether it be the Holocaust."

'OPENLY ANTAGONISTIC'

Kennedy noted that the commission had ruled the opposite way in three cases brought against bakers in which the business owners refused to bake cakes containing messages that demeaned gay people or same-sex marriage.

"Government hostility toward people of faith has no place in our society, yet the state of Colorado was openly antagonistic toward Jack's religious beliefs about marriage. The court was right to condemn that," said lawyer Kristen Waggoner of the conservative Christian group Alliance Defending Freedom, which represents Phillips.

Waggoner said the decision "makes clear that the government must respect Jack's beliefs about marriage."

American Civil Liberties Union lawyer Louise Melling, who represents Mullins and Craig, said the high court made it clear that businesses open to the public must serve everyone.

"The court reversed the Masterpiece Cakeshop decision based on concerns unique to the case but reaffirmed its longstanding rule that states can prevent the harms of discrimination in the marketplace, including against LGBT people," Melling added.

The case became a cultural flashpoint in the United States, underscoring the tensions between gay rights proponents and conservative Christians.

Mullins and Craig said Phillips was using his Christian faith as pretext for unlawful discrimination based on sexual orientation. Phillips' lawyers said his cakes are an art form - a "temporary sculpture" - and being forced to create one to commemorate a gay wedding would violate his constitutional rights to free speech and expression and free exercise of religion.

The litigation, along with similar cases around the country, is part of a conservative Christian backlash to the Supreme Court's gay marriage ruling. Phillips and others like him who believe that gay marriage is not consistent with their Christian beliefs have said they should not be required to effectively endorse the practice.

Gay rights advocates said the case is just one part of a bigger struggle seeking greater legal protections for gay, bisexual and transgender people, including in the workplace, even as they fight efforts by conservatives to undermine gains secured in recent years.

As Pride Month Progresses, LGBTQ Bullies Force Pusillanimous Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey To Apologize For Eating At Chick-Fil-A • Now The End Begins

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey on Sunday came under fire for tweeting about spending money at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Los Angeles over the owner’s views on gay marriage.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Just imagine for a moment that you are the CEO of one of the world’s most valuable social media companies, Twitter, with untold millions in your ever-expanding bank account. Now imagine that you stop for lunch to have America’s best chicken sandwich, Chick-fil-a. You enjoy a delish chicken sandwich, and even save money while doing it. You’re so excited that you tweet about it. Then, because it’s LGBTQ Pride Month, the LGBTQ bullies demand you now “apologize for eating at Chick-fil-a” because it’s a Christian company that stands for Biblical beliefs. So what do you, super rich and powerful Twitter man, decide to do? Why you cave in to the LGBTQ bullies, of course, and immedialty apologize for eating at Chick-fil-a, that’s what you do. Pathetic and disgusting. Chick-fil-a doesn’t discriminate against anyone, and employs thousands of LGBTQ workers. You didn’t apologize because you were wrong for eating there, you apologized because you’re a coward who gave in to mob justice. Time to put a skirt on the bird, Jack, and maybe even start wearing one yourself.

Jack Dorsey tweeted a screenshot of his purchases and savings made by using the fast-food restaurant’s mobile app, prompting a backlash from LGBTQ community and the media.

The fast-food chain has been criticized over CEO Dan Cathy’s views concerning gay marriage. In 2012, he came out in defense of the traditional definition of marriage and expressed views critical of gay marriage stemming from his Christian faith.

<span data-mce-type="bookmark" style="display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;" class="mce_SELRES_start"></span>

“This is an interesting company to boost during Pride month, Jack,” wrote former CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien, who pointed out that June is dedicated to celebrating LGBT community.
Others quickly joined in condemning Dorsey, with one saying “On behalf of the whole LGBTQ community, Jack, kindly boost your head out of your a–.”
“Please delete this or follow up with how much free advertising you’re going to give GLAAD,” wrote another user, referring to the LGBTQ organization.

Dorsey issued an apology for the purchase at the restaurant, telling O’Brien: “You’re right. Completely forgot about their background.”

But the latest remark sparked another round of backlash, this time from more conservative social media users, who questioned what the CEO of Twitter meant by “their background.”

You’re right. Completely forgot about their background

    — jack (@jack) June 10, 2018

“’Background’ meaning they employ 41,000 people, many of whom are the most pleasant fast food employees in the country, serve delicious food at good prices, and at amazing speed? That background?” wrote journalist Jeryl Bier.
“You mean their late CEO being a Christian? Apparently that is something bad/terrible, having faith, running a decent business, never discriminated against anyone, for the ‘tolerance, acceptance, and inclusivity’ crowd,” wrote another user. source
