The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. Lemiska: Eulogy for America

By Peter Lemiska November 8, 2012 1:00 pm

The long-awaited election is finally over. Half the country is elated, and the other half is numb. During the weeks leading up to the election, Republicans had been encouraged by pollsters and political analysts, who confidently announced that no President in recent history won re-election with a national unemployment rate over 7.2 percent. They showed poll after poll indicating that a significant majority of Americans believe we are on the wrong track. They pointed out that uncommitted voters inevitably break for the challenger in the final moments. They said it’s all about voter turnout, and concluded Republicans were much more likely to show up at the polls.

This should not have been a close election. All things considered, Barack Obama should have been easily defeated, especially by a challenger so experienced and imminently competent as Mitt Romney.

Now that the contentious campaign is over, there will be calls for reconciliation and unity, but they will fall on deaf ears. The divisiveness fueled by four years of class warfare and petty politics is not likely to heal anytime soon. And now that Obama has been given four more years, unencumbered by political considerations, he is free to impose his radical ideology with reckless abandon. It will only expand the schism. Any hope of reuniting the country vanished with Tuesday’s election.

We all want a prosperous America, but there are dark days ahead for the country. Obamacare remains intact, and most Americans will be stunned at the resulting higher costs and lower quality of care. Small businesses will curtail hiring because of its impact. Scandals like Solyndra, Fast and Furious, and Benghazi will remain buried. More will occur. The national debt will continue to skyrocket, as entitlements expand, and our country cannonballs toward bankruptcy. More liberal justices will be appointed to the Supreme Court. Congress and the Constitution will become less relevant as Obama imposes more of his will on the country through Executive Order. The country will be flooded with illegal aliens as our borders disintegrate, and the Democrats will have established a solid voting bloc and dream constituency - a majority of Americans totally dependent on government.

And something else has escaped the attention of America during this heated campaign. Like the Democrats, Iran is undoubtedly ecstatic about the election results. Ahmadinejad has heard Obama’s empty threats over Iran’s nuclear ambitions for four years. He knows that the use of force by this country, contrary to Obama’s endless warnings, is off the table. As he continues to develop a nuclear weapon, unimpeded by the United States, our closest friends in that region are coming to understand that they are on their own. A confrontation between Iran and Israel is almost a certainty, and Iran has already promised to retaliate against America in that event. Despite Obama’s best efforts to hide from this issue, America will be drawn in.

Obama’s election in 2008 might have been attributed to a naïve electorate that saw a new kind of politician, one filled with inspiration and hope. Or perhaps it was nothing more than mindless enthusiasm generated by America’s first African-American President. With this election, we now know that the country has fundamentally changed. It’s been remolded by Socialists and Communists who have wormed their way into our government, the news media, and our education system. The younger generation has been particularly influenced. One poll shows that 60 percent of the youth vote went to Obama.

This election suggests that the America of past generations is gone. The Obama supporters have forgotten, or never learned those values that made the country great, like hard work, personal responsibility, and selflessness. They have long ago forgotten the inspirational words of John F. Kennedy, Democratic leader from a bygone era, who called for some of that selflessness when he proclaimed, “Ask not what your country can do for you...” That’s exactly what today’s voters are asking. They are inspired by promises of free contraceptives, free health care, and free education. In fact, they demand nothing less than cradle-to-tomb care guaranteed by the government, and funded by the taxpayer.

There was another world leader from Kennedy’s era who comes to mind. He said something not particularly inspirational, but just as memorable. In 1956, Nikita Khrushchev, First Secretary of the Communist Party of the USSR, predicted the demise of Capitalism and free enterprise, announcing to the West, “We will bury you.” Fifty six years later, his prediction has come to pass.

As long as there is the entitlement society, and those who think the government owes them a living from cradle to grave, nothing is going to change.

What we need next time around is a candidate who is not afraid to get down and dirty just like the Democrats do. They threw everything but the kitchen sink at Romney and he just played nice.

Politics is a dirty game and if you are not willing to get down in the mud and sling it right back at your opposition like the Democrats do, we are never going to get back the WH.

God helps those who help themselves. What are we DOING to help ourselves by decimating this tyrant and his cronies out of office?

The military has an oath and an obligation to protect us from enemies both foreign and DOMESTIC, yet I don’t hear of anything they have planned, like perhaps to storm the white house and take Obama prisoner???

Thank you, NewsWatcher, I was wondering if anyone would mention the possibility that the election was rigged. In my opinion, that is THE answer and the only answer. I have not seen the quote from Stalin, but it speaks volumes, and sadly, it is the truth.

Of course the election was rigged, Cindy. Do you remember obama’a comment to the russians that he would have more flexibility after the election? Why do you think he was so confident about the outcome? Some day the truth about this election will come out. Unfortunatly none of us will be around any more when that happens.

For parents who voted for BO, perhaps one day they will look into the eyes of their debt slaves, oops sorry, I mean children, that it wasnt BO’s fault that they have this huge debt hanging around their necks but their (parents) fault for voting for BO! (see, BO is right, it isnt his fault, it is never his fault)

Stop fighting??? We’re fighting??? Where’s the battle? I will join in. The only way to fight is to take back this country forcably, by forcably removing Obama from the white house. The military has an obligation and a duty to do that to protect us from a DOMESTIC enemy.

It is true that barry is replacing the freedoms created by our forefathers and the military does have an obligation to remove him from office if he continues on this road of tyrany. However I don’t see that happening. They will become the military of Egypt. Just standing idly by as the ruler takes over America/ We are now just a banana republic. Elections fixed by the likes of Obama and his Chicago hooligans. There is no way Obama won this election fairly. There were 10 million fewer voters for Obama from 2008. Do the math. Romney lost by 2.5 million. I smell some demorats in the house.Wait till the Supreme court goes socialist. I believe it is now up to the next generations to take our country back. I believe a revolution will happen. History repeats itself. Hopefully it happens within a few years. Those who voted for this tyrant should feel real proud of themselves. Those women who gave him the election over free pills and abortion over jobs and national safety should be real proud of themselves. They are all traitors in my mind.

Good call Whit.

I always remember a colleague some years ago who went through a rough patch.

She said she would manage OK and she did.

She printed out a statement in large upper case letters.

It said Winners never quit and Loosers never win.

It has stood me in good stead over the years.

Conservative Americans are down right now – and this is natural enough.

Just remember that you are still the hope of the free world and we look to you to come right back in 2012 and 2014.

Winners never quit.

They are brainWASHED and made brainless by an educational system, mostly of women, hostile to the true ideals primarily because they are hostile toward men. And they are not alone- the political divide is not really one of ideology, it is of hostility, envy, race warfare, sex warfare, every type of warfare and hostility against a system where these groups cannot compete with white men in an open free market-either because of ineptitude or laziness or just plain taking what someone else has that you want- any way you can. The crisis of CHARACTER is what is and will kill us, probably literally. White women have given every single Democrat-won Presidential election to the Democrats since LBJ (who would have won even without their help) with their insistence on special rights to kill your own baby if you see fit, affirmative action favoritism, lesbian rights. If I’m not correct, let me know how! Jussmartenuf- you’re pathetic. You belong at a Gay Rights rally.

No Eulogy yet! WE still have Benghazi and deaths of at least four Americans to sort through. We know the current investigative team lacks ability to do it honestly so we will have to depend on the U.S. Military to take over. God grant them the wisdom to make The Poser and Clinton held responsible/accountable for the heinous attack and their ineptness to help those attacked.

Obozo will speed up the destruction of this once great country and the Congress will grand stand and do nothing….just as they have done for the past four years.

This is in response to Powertothepeople… You’re absolutely 100% right. It’s up to the people to do something. We voted. The election was a sham, counted by Soros, watched by the UN on which Obama has a seat, ballots were not delivered to the military, the democrats fought against early voting for the military, and on and on and on. The whole election was a sham.

The only thing left to do is something that can’t be a sham – a revolution. Take up arms before Obama destroys the 2nd ammendment, march to the white house, take him prisoner along with Harry Reid, Joe Biden, Eric Holder, and many others.

We don’t HAVE to stand and watch. Eventually, you all ain’t going to have a job anyway as businesses fold, cut back to only part timers, etc. Might as well revolt. And get the military to join us because they took an oath to protect us against enemies, foreign AND DOMESTIC and Obama, Reid, Holder, Biden and the others ARE OUR ENEMIES!

We tried to do this peacefully and they snubbed up, cheated us, screwed us. There’s no more ways to do this peacefully.

Obama’s voters are largely brain-dead, whether on the welfare rolls and driving a Rolls. No matter how bad the economy, how outrageous the scandals, how numerous the failures of domestic and foreign policy, their base is utterly unfazed. The only thing that matters to them is unfettered sex and lots of freebies, They aren’t interested in responsible behavior; they are content with a lifetime of dependency and only aspire to becoming rap stars or drug dealers. The only thing that scares them are hoaxes like believing the GOP won’t let them have contraceptives or abortions. The rich worry about the imaginary threat of global warming. The reality that America is flat broke and that its security is severely compromised doesn’t faze them a whit. Today’s Democrats use slander, lies, fear, division, scare tactics and distortion–and the media never call them extremist. They spend three times as much as we take in, run up debt to astronomical levels, cut our military down to the size of a small country–and the media is mute. They destroy the present and eliminate an aspirational future for minorities, and the latter praise and reelect them. They pander and nobody calls them on it. They refuse to budge on any issue and it’s the Republican House that is considered obstructionlist. The Senate doesn’t pass a budget and nobody cares. Obama fails in his primary duty as commander-in-chief and the media refuse to call him on it. Obama is still an empty suit with a well-oiled Chicago machine to keep the Democrats in office forever, with no regard to the economy, the well-being of its citizens and the security of our nation. Two different sets of standards for each–or actually no standards whatsoever for the Democrats.

The reason why the Republicans keep losing, and why there is no reasonable political dialogue in this country, is precisely this kind of attitude. No, we aren’t all brain-dead, I assure you. And we do behave responsibly, in this case more so than you. (You insult us, but I don’t insult you, for instance.) We just disagree with you on how to attain a prosperous future.

You say we want to “cut our military down to the size of a small country”. Let’s just cut to the size of the budgets of Russia and China, combined. Both of those are large countries, but let’s cut to the size of both of their military budgets, combined. That would be a gigantic cut, much larger than anything Obama would EVER suggest.

Facts do matter. False claims not only contribute nothing to the conversation, they undermine a badly needed rational conversation.

Great post, susanna. If more people had your insight we probably wouldn’t be in this mess. Lemiska paints a pretty bleak picture of our future, but it’s certainly more likely to come about now with Obama’s re-election. This country is beginning to remind me more of 1984 all the time (the novel, that is). Becoming very Orwellian.

VERY, VERY much like Germany of the 1930′s. Read some history or the book “They thought they were free: Germany of the 30′s” or “How to kill 11 million people”! Extremely scary. Obama, and a fairly significant percentage of American blacks, have definite anti-semitism and I often hear it openly. You could also say that we’ve already HAD a holocaust of 11 million children- the enemies of the feminists’ narcissism. Sometimes I wonder if Obama might actually have a 666 birthmark or tattoo somewhere on his body. He is a scary dude both ideologically and in character and in ineptitude. I am positive that this is the end of a free and prosperous america and possibly even some things worse in store from our enemies within and without. America will NEVER recover from 8 (or more!) years of the Obama regime and it’s evil minions- and there will definitely be no power of goodness to come in, squash our behinds, and allow us to start over like we did for Germany. It is quite literally the beginning of the fall of the west! We have given it away willfully and already it is starting to be taken from us with the complicity of our enemies within. It’s all over. I don’t see any way to stop it at this point. We might have had a chance to dismantle at least some of the left’s stranglehold on America with Gingrich (and I honestly believe he could have kicked Obama’s ***) but even that would probably have been temporary when you are actually being INVADED by statists who steal citizenship and, at the same time the women of the race that formed this country and was its backbone of freedom declare war on men, children, the family, and even heterosexuality in many cases! If I’m not right, please tell me how not so!

On one hand the Obama campaign was probably the most fiercely negative campaign in the collective memory of this nation. The misrepresentations (blatant lies) made by this administration both about it’s own goals and objectives as well as those of the Romney/Ryan ticket are nothing short of absolutely reprehensible. On the other hand, I saw the Obama campaign like a Mardi Gras parade procession. Floats carrying all manner of wierdly dressed and degenerate individuals throwing plastic necklaces, rings, candy and various other party favors out into the crowd.

Did you get your Obama phone? Did you get your Obama bucks? Did you get your food stamps, your welfare check, your WIC, your fatherless child benefits, etc, etc? Those are the party favors being distributed to at least 49% of the populous of this once great nation. As always, ignorance is and always has been the coin of the realm for leftist politicians and I never cease to be amazed at the ignorance of the leftist electorate.

Their bellies and their sex organs are objects of primary concern. As long as I can have food to eat and can satisfy my baser lusts, that’s all I care about. If someone else has to pay for me to live “The dream” so what? That’s where we are folks. What a pathetic epitaph as history closes it’s doors on yet another magnificent country.

Let’s not forget that nearly 3 million supposed conservatives in this country elected Obama by default by not voting because they felt Romney was too moderate. What fools! I read somewhere where someone said that if a ham sandwich were running against Obama they would have voted for it.

I want to extend a heartfelt invitation to everyone disheartened by the results of this election to come to Texas. It’s one of the only places left in this country where you’ve got the right to carry a weapon, speak freely about politics or whatever you want to talk about and most importantly has a provision in it’s constitution to cecede from the union. Texas has been it’s own country before and can be again. We have 85% of domestic oil production in Texas, a Texas silicon valley in the Austin area. The list goes on and on. I’ve heard it said that the United States needs Texas but Texas doesn’t need the United States. We’re completely self sustainable.

I am afraid that at some point we will be brought to a second American revolution, I pray to God we don’t have to go through that, but if we do we can enter that fray knowing we are on the right side of the law and history. Remember the Alamo! still resounds in the voices of Texas’ citizens today. Let it be the battle cry for all of us who still believe in America and the American dream.

unfortunately, I dont think it would not have made the slightest bit of difference. These people were fully aware of BO’s record of failure and it is staring right at them and they are living in the economy of almost $4/gal of gas, higher healthcare premiums, chronic unemployment etc etc and yet they voted for the man! Well, they will get what they ask for. The only sad thing is, they are dragging many of us who didnt vote for BO down with them. Move over American exceptionalism, American mediocrity has taken over.

Many who voted for Obama will find out what a job killer Obamacare is. Buckle up. if you think these past fours years has been hard, you aint seen nothing yet. Dont say Gov Romney didnt warn you. He did but you chose to heed his warnings.

Buyers remorse yet, for you so called “independants”? If not, you soon will.

If truth be told, it will be down in the history books that, America died on Nov 6th, 2012, at 11.15pm.

I dont want any compromise. We know what BO’s compromise is all about. It will be purely photo-op. then he will blame Congress and by pass them, like he did with ObamaCare. Let the country go over the cliff. The left want to have it fair so much, So, lets all jump together over the cliff, It will be fair then. we will all be the same and will have our “fair shot”

It is your perogative if you want to take some exception but many independants did vote for BO even though BO record is clear cut – failure. frankly I am shocked that they decide to ignore BO’s failures and bought into his BS that he needed 4 more yrs. I thought independants voted more so with their brains/pocket books and price at the pump. I guess they think it is OK to be paying almost $4 for a gal of gas! For the Republicans who didnt vote for Romney, I guess they “sold” their souls to the devil with few mere shiny objects, like contraception, food stamps etc etc. This free ride isnt going to last forever…harder times are just around the corner!

In response to pypypypy……You’re absolutely right. Socialism has always been touted as the great “Equalizer” for all men in a society. It is in a very real sense. Socialism never lifted anyone up from poverty to prosperity but rather pulls all men down into poverty, servitude and robs men of ambition to strive for anything beyond their current meager possessions and station in life.

Socialism is a dream killer. It creates a caste system much like in India where you are “locked into” your station in life by virtue or misfortune of your birth. If your father was a ruler, you will be also. If your father cleaned public toilets for a living, you will too. This is what the ignorant masses that comprise the electorate on the left voted for. This is what the nearly 3 million fools on the conservative side allowed to enter the white house again by virtue of their abstinence from voting.

A day or two before the election Obama revealed yet again a valuable insight into who he is and how he thinks, when he told the crowd gathered at the rally not to boo, but to vote. “Voting is the best way to get REVENGE.” he said. It seems Obama is hell bent on the utter destruction of America and the American dream. What does he want revenge for? EXTRA, EXTRA read all about it……….”Dreams of my Father” and “The audacity of hope” on bookshelves now!

These memoirs have been on the shelves since before his first term. Unfortunately, like his 2,400 page signature legislation (The affordable care act) AKA (Obama Care) nobody seems to have read them. He told us all we needed to know about who he was, is and will be. Look out America! all hell is about to break loose and never forget………It’s Bush’s fault!

With all that was at stake – the GOP played it like a bunch of pansies. We have a sitting president with a miserable economic record, an ongoing scandal, loads of miscues, Fast & Furious, misuse of executive power (Libya), a radical record on social issues and we do not take it to him. We let something like a storm and fat boy hugging him sway the election!

Furthermore, the GOP needs to scrap the entire LAME primary system. How can it be the blue states IA and NH essentially elect our nominee? Texas, the most powerful conservative state, has no say in who wins the primary!

Stupid. Stupid. Stupid.

“Through His Pharmacopeia He will be able to deceive the masses” I did a paper 12 years ago while pursuing my degree in Sociology. My research had reveled that 98 percent of all the drugs sold in the US were psychotropic medications; these are the antidepressants and anti psycotics. I was astounded at that time considering all the drugs that are used to treat all the other diseases and ailments in our symptomoligy driven society. I was also very disturbed to learn that these medications were never intended to be prescribed by a DO. or MD. or psychologist or someone with only a degree in psychology and were only intended to be used and legally prescribed by a Psychiatrist as a last resort for (helping) a truly mentally ill person. Family doctors have been and still are are handing them out like candy for all ailments as a magic cure all for the past 20 years now. Scientists don’t know why we use only 5 to 10 percent of our brains and can’t explain what the rest is there for. I believe it is were the Holy Spirit resides in a Truly anointed Christian. It is what gives us a conscience, and it gives us a sort of 6th sense; an intuition about certain things that the infidels don’t have. If you include all the recreational drugs the average American is using along with the psychotropics then it is no wonder the majority of Americans are brain dead now. They will follow any piper who tickles their ears and gives them a glimmer of hope from their miserable state of mind. Pharmacopeia is Witchcraft, Sorcery. We know now how and why this happened. It is a sign of the times. The Sheeple are ripe for the slaughter. They will follow him into oblivion now as long as He gives them their drugs, and tickles their ears.

I agree with Peter Lemiska. No amount of strategizing by the Republicans is going to change things. America has lost its last chance by rejecting such decent individuals as Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. The game is over.

End the Bush tax cuts. Bring on the sequestration. Disarm America. Abandon Israel. That’s what the people want.

I agree with you. “Anyone who Blesses (protects) Israel will be Blessed, anyone who curses (abandons) Israel will be cursed.” We have enjoyed God’s blessing for always being a protector (friend) of Israel. The minute we turn our back on Her we are doomed. “He who is not for me; is against me”

Can America Survive If Americans No Longer Agree On A Core Set Of Shared Values?

What does America stand for?  That question is a lot more complicated than you might think.  Our Founding Fathers established a Republic that was based on a set of shared values that were embodied in the text of the U.S. Constitution.  But today, many of our politicians openly disregard the Constitution whenever they want and it has become fashionable to mock the U.S. Constitution.  For example, the New York Times recently published a piece by Georgetown University Professor Louis Michael Seidman entitled "Let's Give Up On The Constitution" in which he publicly called the Constitution "archaic" and "downright evil".  This is a man that has been teaching constitutional law to the next generation of lawyers at one of the top universities in the nation for nearly 40 years.  Unfortunately, Seidman is not an aberration.  The truth is that law schools all over America are absolutely packed with professors that teach that we should consider the U.S. Constitution a "living, breathing document" that must "evolve" as society evolves.  They also teach that when we find something in the Constitution that does not work for us today that we should just ignore it.  In fact, in his New York Times article Seidman insisted that "constitutional disobedience" is "as old as the Republic".  But if we can just ignore the U.S. Constitution whenever we want, where does that leave us?  Should we be able to ignore all laws when they are not convenient for us?

Personally, I strongly believe that we should follow the U.S. Constitution, and there are millions of others out there that agree with me.  If we want to amend the Constitution, there is a procedure for doing that, but it is not easy.  Our founders did that to try to ensure that any changes to our Constitution would reflect an overwhelming consensus of the American people.

But today America is more divided than ever before.  We can't seem to agree on much of anything.  We are at a period in our history when we desperately need to come together, but instead we are constantly at each other's throats.

Is there anything that truly unites us anymore?

In the old days, if you would have asked people to give you a one word definition of America, many people would have responded by naming important values such as "freedom" and "liberty".

Sadly, much of the country appears not to even value those things any longer.  One poll found that 51 percent of all Americans believe that "it is necessary to give up some civil liberties in order to make the country safe from terrorism."  Other surveys have found similar results.

Not only that, we continue to elect control freak politicians from both political parties that appear to be obsessed with constantly eroding our freedoms and liberties.  There are literally millions of ridiculous laws, rules and regulations that govern even the smallest details of our lives, and the government is constantly inventing new ways to watch, track, register, monitor and control all of us.  If you doubt this, please see this article and this article.  If we continue down this path, we are going to end up in a very dark place as a nation.

Well, what about economics?

Aren't we united by a common economic philosophy?

Sadly, no we are not.

In the old days, Americans overwhelmingly believed in free market capitalism and overwhelmingly rejected socialism, but now that is rapidly changing.

According to a stunning Pew Research Center survey, 49 percent of Americans in the 18 to 29 age bracket have a positive view of socialism while only 46 percent of Americans in that same age bracket have a positive view of capitalism.

So what will the future look like if we continue to see this kind of shift among our young people?

And of course we have not had anything even close to a true free market system in the United States in a very, very long time.  Our economy is dominated by a partnership between the federal government and the monolithic predator corporations that dominate our society.  Individuals and small businesses that try to compete are being absolutely suffocated.  Our Founding Fathers were very suspicious of all large concentrations of power, and they sought to greatly limit the power of both the federal government and of the big corporations.  But today we have gone totally in the other direction.

Well, is there anything else that truly unites America?

What about religion?

Of course it is true that the overwhelming majority of the early colonists were Christian, and even 50 years ago it would have been accurate to say that America was a "Christian nation", but that is definitely no longer the case today.

The number of Americans with no religious affiliation has absolutely exploded in recent years.  It has grown by a whopping 25 percent over the past five years, and meanwhile the percentage of people that identify themselves as "Christians" in America is dropping like a rock.  In fact, one poll found that the percentage of Protestants in the United States has dropped below 50 percent for the first time ever.  For many more shocking numbers that show the precipitous decline of Christianity in America, please see this article.

So what fundamental principles do most Americans actually agree on?

And I am not talking about things like "American Idol is going downhill" or "Justin Bieber gets too much attention".

Is there still a core set of shared values that the entire nation can agree upon?

If not, where does that leave us?

Unfortunately, I think that it leaves us in a very difficult place.  The divisiveness that we have seen in Washington D.C. in recent years is just the tip of the iceberg.  We are living in a nation today that is more divided than I can ever remember.  A whole host of opinion polls have shown that anger and frustration in America are rising to very dangerous levels, and instead of focusing on the real reasons for our problems we all tend to point the fingers at one another.

In America today, we have been trained to group ourselves together by certain "categories" and to see those on the other side as "the enemy".  This is a very dangerous thing.  It keeps the American people from coming together to fix the very serious problems that are facing our country.

The truth is that we are being divided in dozens of different ways today.  The following are just a few of the ways we are currently being divided...

Republican vs. Democrat

Conservative vs. Liberal

Rich vs. Poor

Black vs. White (or insert any other two races or ethnic groups)

North vs. South

Urban vs. Rural

Anti-Gun vs. Pro-Gun

Male vs. Female

Young vs. Old

Traditional vs. "Modern"

Religious vs. Secular

Of course we should never compromise what we believe just for the sake of "unity".  That is foolishness.  But you can disagree with someone without hating them.

In America today, people will find a reason to hate someone else at the drop of a hat.  Surprisingly large numbers of Americans will hate others because of where they are from, what they look like, what their ethnic background is, what their political affiliation is or what their religious beliefs are.

If America is going to have any kind of a future, we have got to start loving one another.  That does not mean that we all have to agree with one another.  But we do need to start caring about one another and hoping for the best for one another.

For example, I fundamentally disagree with almost every single thing that Barack Obama does.  But I do not hate him.  On the contrary, I pray for him and his family.  I would love to see him experience a 180 degree turnaround and start fighting for the truth.  I believe that love is stronger than hate, and I believe that there is hope for every one of us.

I know that I have had my mind changed on a lot of things throughout my life, and if I could go back there are many things I would do differently.  I am thankful for those that loved me and had patience with me when I was younger.

And that is the kind of grace that we should extend toward others.  Yes, a stand needs to be made when others are promoting evil and trampling on our rights.  But instead of responding to hate with even greater amounts of hate, perhaps it would be better if we responded with even greater amounts of love.

And I am not saying that we always have to be "meek" in our approach.  For example, if I was pushing a shopping cart around the local supermarket and I came upon a young child that was about to guzzle an entire bottle of liquid bleach, I would yell and scream at that child to stop.  Sometimes yelling and screaming is the loving thing to do.  There is nothing wrong with "tough love".

There are preachers and radio hosts that I know that express what they believe in a very vociferous manner, but it is coming from a good place.  They love their listeners and they love their country and they are just trying to wake people up.  There is nothing wrong with that.

On the flip side, there are others that truly do hate particular categories of people.  For example, I was on a radio show earlier today, and the first half of the interview went great as I explained the problems with our economy, how our cities are degenerating and how the Federal Reserve is at the very heart of our financial problems as a nation.

But then in the second half of the interview, the radio host started blaming one particular ethnic group for all of our problems.  I had not properly researched this particular host and I was horrified.  I told her in a very clear manner that I thought that she was wrong.  I don't think that she appreciated that very much.

But the truth is that we are never going to fix the very serious problems that are facing this country if we choose to hate one another because of what we look like or who our ancestors were.  We are never going to fix the very serious problems that are facing this country if we choose to remain trapped in the "red vs. blue" paradigm and keep pointing fingers of hatred at one another.  We are never going to fix the very serious problems that are facing this country if we would rather indulge in hatred rather than love.

That doesn't mean that we don't fight for what is right.  There are most certainly politicians that need to be voted out of office.  There are most certainly big corporations that need to be exposed.  There are most definitely evil agendas that are being promoted at the highest levels.  Our society is clearly headed in the wrong direction and this country needs a massive wake up call.

But I think that we will get a lot farther if love is our primary motivation.  Without love, we are nothing.  Let us start to love one another as we would like to be loved ourselves.

So what do all of you think about this?  I am sure that there are probably some very strong opinions out there.  Please feel free to post a comment with your thoughts below...

What's even more alarming is the explosion of these seeker-sensitive megachurches in this country, with their rock music, orange juliuses, big expensive buildings, etc. And also don't forget the other so-called pseudo-christian denominations like the RCC and JWs that profess themselves to be christians as well, and over time b/c of scandals, false prophecies coming by, etc, a growing number of them have left their respective cults.

If anything, especially this particular poll over "Are you a Christian?", one has to really look into them, b/c it's likely the case that the average respondent may say "Yes" without knowing the true definition of a Christian.

Speaking of Churchianity, these issues as well have brought down the dividing sword - at least from my experiences on a couple of very popular, mainline end times forums, throughout the 2008 and 2012 election campaigns, people who were speaking out against John McCain's and Mitt Romney's deceptions were getting attacked, ganged up on, and ultimately banned. In some cases, the forums were even questioning their salvation. And on top of that, they were being a terrible witness to the lost by openly embracing pagans and spending more time doing so than what is Godly edifying on other sections of their forums.

And I've noticed the arrogancy in previous elections at churches I've went to(ie-they put more time in exhalting Bush II, it seemed, than preaching the word of God).

No wonder why Churchianity is really in shambles now - you sow to the flesh, you reap to the flesh corruption.

And throw in all the demonic rock music - one of the big subliminal messages that come out of it is social justice. I guess they didn't call the Gen X crowd the MTV crowd for nothing.

Obama may be our most evil President evil - but let's look at the big picture. Like all the other Presidents, he is CONTROLLED by his MASTERS. The "elite", Vatican, 13 Illuminati families, and ultimately Satan and his minions are the ones pulling the puppet strings. So yeah, if Obama REALLY had his way 100%, this country would have been destroyed completely in 2009. Yeah, I know it's going at a faster and closer pace now, but again it's his handlers behind the scenes that are pulling the strings.

Yep, none of this in Churchianity today.
