Obama Admin Declares Federal Buildings Must Allow Men in Women’s Restrooms

The Obama administration published a notice on Thursday declaring that federal buildings must allow men that identify as women and vice versa to use the restroom that correlates with their “gender identity.”

“Federal agencies occupying space under the jurisdiction, custody, or control of GSA must allow individuals to use restroom facilities and related areas consistent with their gender identity,” the General Services Administration (GSA) wrote in the Federal Register.

The rule applies to the 9,000 facilities under the control of the GSA in 2,000 cities across the nation, such as federal courthouses, Veterans Administration offices and Social Security departments.

The administration says that it instituted the regulation to clarify that non-discrimination rules apply to transgenders. It came to the conclusion based on the interpretations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1973 by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Education, the Department of Justice, and other federal entities.

The GSA outlined in its notice that an individual does not need to undergo a sex change operation to be permitted to use their preferred restroom.

“As consistent with guidance by DOJ and ED, the self-identification of gender identity by any individual is sufficient to establish which restroom or other single-sex facilities should be used,” it explained.

“As noted by ED, EEOC, DOJ and OPM, transgender individuals do not have to be undergoing or have completed any medical procedure, nor can they be required to show proof of surgery to be treated in accordance with their gender identity and obtain access to the restroom corresponding with their gender identity.”

GSA also outlined that those who identify as the opposite sex cannot be required to use private restrooms as opposed to multiple-stall facilities.

“Further, federal agencies may not restrict only transgender individuals to only use single-occupancy restrooms, such as family or accessible facilities open to all genders,” the administration said. “However, federal agencies may make individual-user options available to all individuals who voluntarily seek additional privacy.”

As previously reported, over 20 states have sued the Obama administration over its recently released guidelines requiring schools to accommodate students’ “gender identity” under threat of losing their federal funding.

“A school may provide separate facilities on the basis of sex, but must allow transgender students access to such facilities consistent with their gender identity,” the May directive from the Department of Education and the Department of Justice read. “A school may not require transgender students to use facilities inconsistent with their gender identity or to use individual-user facilities when other students are not required to do so.”

“As a condition of receiving federal funds, a school agrees that it will not exclude, separate, deny benefits to, or otherwise treat differently on the basis of sex any person in its educational programs or activities unless expressly authorized to do so under Title IX or its implementing regulations,” it warned.

The states believe that the departments wrongfully sidestepped Congress in issuing the directive, and assert that the Obama administration is misinterpreting Title IX, which does not mention “gender identity,” but rather only “sex.”

“Neither the text nor the legislative history of Title IX supports an interpretation of the term ‘sex’ as meaning anything other than one’s sex as determined by anatomy and genetics,” one of the joint lawsuits reads.

Judge in Texas temporarily blocks Obama's transgender rules
8/22/16

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A federal judge in Texas is blocking for now the Obama administration's directive to U.S. public schools that transgender students must be allowed to use the bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their chosen gender identity.

On Monday — the first day of class for most public schools in Texas — hundreds of school districts awoke to news of the order by U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor.

His decision dated Sunday comes after Texas and 12 other states challenged the Obama directive as unconstitutional. O'Connor ruled that the federal education law, Title IX, "is not ambiguous" about sex being defined as "the biological and anatomical differences between male and female students as determined at their birth."

He also sided with Republican state leaders who argued that schools should have been allowed to weigh in before the directive was announced in May.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, a Republican, had argued that halting the law before school began was necessary because districts risked losing federal education dollars if they didn't comply. Federal officials didn't explicitly make that threat upon issuing the directive, although they also never ruled out the possibility.

"This president is attempting to rewrite the laws enacted by the elected representatives of the people, and is threating to take away federal funding from schools to force them to conform," Paxton said. "That cannot be allowed to continue, which is why we took action to protect states and school districts."

The Education and Justice departments did not immediately react to the injunction.

Paul Castillo, a Dallas attorney for the gay rights group Lambda Legal that had urged the court to let the directive stand, said the ruling was a continuation of attacks on transgender people.

"I think today is going to be a hard day for transgender students," Castillo said. "The decision is certainly emotional, and certainly an attack on transgender students' dignity."

The federal government told U.S. public schools in May that transgender students must be allowed to use bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their chosen gender identity. That announcement came days after the Justice Department sued North Carolina over a state law that requires people to use public bathrooms that correspond with the sex on their birth certificate, which U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch had likened to policies of racial segregation. Republicans have argued such laws are commonsense privacy safeguards.

The Obama administration had told the court that recipients of federal education dollars "are clearly on notice" that antidiscrimination polices must be followed. Texas alone gets roughly $10 billion in federal education funds.

The lawsuit was filed in May by Texas, Alabama, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Utah and Georgia, and the Republican governors of Maine, Mississippi and Kentucky. Two small school districts in Arizona and Texas, which have fewer than 600 students combined and no transgender persons on their campuses, also joined the effort to prevent the directive from being enforced.

Target Stock Plummets as Boycotts Surge

There are two indisputable facts surrounding Target's decision to allow men to use the same bathrooms and changing rooms as women and little girls.

First, Target's stock has taken pounding since April. Second quarter earnings fell to $680 million, according to Market Watch. And revenue fell 7.2 percent.

Second, more than 1.4 million consumers have joined American Family Association's nationwide boycott of the nation's second-largest discount retailer.

The debate is whether there is a correlation between those two facts.

Target CEO Brian Cornwell told Fortune magazine in May that the transgender bathroom policy has nothing to do with their financial well-being.

"To date we have not seen a material or measurable impact on our business," he said. "Just a handful of stores across the country have seen some activity and have been impacted."

But American Family Association believes their boycott is having a significant impact on Target's bottom line.

"After seeing Target's latest earnings report, the retailer can't afford to have millions of families shopping with their competitors," AFA president Tim Wildmon wrote in a statement. "The privacy and protection of women and children is important and that is why we will continue to stand against Target for its reckless policy."

Last week, Target announced they would be spending millions of dollars to add private single-stall bathrooms at many of its stores.

Fortune reports the decision was made as Target tries to reverse a drop in shopper traffic, "some of which may have been caused by the retailer's transgender-friendly bathroom policy."

"It's clear that some of our guests like and some dislike our inclusive bathroom policy," Target chief financial officer Cathy Smith told Fortune.

That's what we call an understatement, kids.

AFA says Target's single-stall bathrooms will still endanger women and children. Therefore, they plan to continue the boycott.

"We still believe Target doesn't value the safety of families because they've refused to reverse this dangerous policy," Wildmon said.

In a letter obtained by Fox News, Wildmon explains his concerns to Target's chief executive officer, Brian Cornell.

"We do not feel that the transgender community poses a threat to other shoppers," Wildmon wrote. "Our major concern was that Target's policy would grant voyeurs and sexual predators easier access to their victims by allowing men in women's restrooms and changing areas, which puts women and girls in danger."

Wildmon noted incidents involving such activity at Target stores in Massachusetts, Idaho and Texas.

"Unisex bathrooms are fine, but our request has always been that Target maintain the gender-specific bathrooms as well – if the company is interested in guaranteeing the safety and privacy of women and girls who patronize the retailer's stores," Wildmon wrote.

He said the boycott will remain in place "until Target agrees that protecting the safety and privacy of women and children is of paramount concern."

‘Do You Prefer Ma’am or Sir?’ New Obama DOJ Video Shows New Rules For Transgender People

When a law enforcement official first encounters a transgender person, and is unsure how to address the individual, officers are encouraged to ask, “Do you prefer if I call you ma’am or sir?”

8/26/16
http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/prefer-maam-sir-new-obama-doj-video-new-rules-transgender-people/

The Justice Department’s Community Relations Service released a new video this week explaining to the law enforcement community the proper way to handle encounters with transgender people.

“And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.” Romans 1:27 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: Just when you thought things could not get any end times crazier, this happens. The Obama Department of Justice has just released a training video manding the new rules police have to follow for the promotion and advancement of the transgender agenda. Just wait until they start doing this to protect pedophiles.

Amid an uptick in reports of discrimination by police toward the transgender community, the CRS has released a 12-minute training video discouraging officers from stereotyping people and telling them to “keep their questions relevant” to the situation at hand.

Throughout the course of the video, viewers see several staged scenarios, including how an officer should address a transgender person during a routine traffic stop, following an assault report and what they should do if they’re called to a bathroom situation due to a transgender user.

“I don’t have to be in the room to know what just happened. Someone snickered, laughed or made, a joke,” Sgt. Brett Parson said at the start of the video. “Trust me, I know, I’m a cop too. As police officers, we use humor to deal with things that make us feel uncomfortable or afraid. … To outsiders, it’s perceived as unprofessional and disrespectful.”

When a law enforcement official first encounters a transgender person, and is unsure how to address the individual, officers are encouraged to ask, “Do you prefer if I call you ma’am or sir?”

In one of the scenarios, a transgender woman calls the police to report an assault. Upon arriving, the two officers — a man and a woman — begin asking the individual about the incident. When the male officer sees the person’s driver’s license, he refers to the person by the unpreferred pronoun.

“In one of the examples, the video demonstrates an officer laughing at a transgender individual who appears to be the victim of a crime, and the officer’s partner pulls him aside to correct his behavior,” Parson explains after the scenario plays out.

The officer, after being taken aside and corrected by his counterpart, then apologized for referring to the transgender person as a man when they preferred female pronouns.

“This illustration not only highlights how officers should act with members of the transgender community, but also addresses the need for officers to say something to their peers when they see problematic behavior,” Parson said.

The video also gives intermittent lessons on the transgender community and proper terminology. Parson explains “assigned sex,” “sexual orientation” and “gender identity.”

“Transgender people are just trying to be their true selves and live their lives as members of our communities just like anyone else,” he said. “As law enforcement officers, we must make every effort to collaborate and learn from the transgender community, so we can better serve others today and in the future.” source

Relief granted to transgender students fighting North Carolina's bathroom law
8/26/16

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (Reuters) - A U.S. judge on Friday blocked the University of North Carolina from enforcing a state law requiring transgender people to use single-sex restrooms and locker rooms that correspond to the gender on their birth certificate.

U.S. District Court Judge Thomas Schroeder's order granting a preliminary injunction applies only to the three transgender plaintiffs named in a lawsuit challenging the measure, known as House Bill 2 or HB 2. North Carolina in March became the first U.S. state to bar people from using restrooms in government buildings and public schools consistent with their gender identity.

“In short, UNC may not apply HB2’s one-size-fits-all approach to what must be a case-by-case inquiry,” wrote Schroeder, noting that his order effectively returned all involved to the status quo before the new law passed “wherein public agencies accommodated the individual transgender Plaintiffs on a case-by-case basis, rather than applying a blanket rule to all people in all facilities under all circumstances.”

The judge, an appointee of Republican former President George W. Bush, heard oral arguments in the case on Aug. 1 in Winston-Salem.

Lawyers for Republican Governor Pat McCrory and other Republican lawmakers who support the measure said it offered common-sense protection of state residents' privacy and safety, even though it included no specific language for enforcement.

The U.S. Justice Department and the American Civil Liberties Union, which sued the state on behalf of three transgender people, called the law stigmatizing and unconstitutional.

Bathroom access has become a flashpoint in the legal and cultural battle over transgender rights in the United States. An estimated 0.6 percent of U.S. adults identify as transgender, according to the Williams Institute at the UCLA School of Law. Debates about which public restroom facilities they and transgender children should use have divided courts, state legislatures and schools.

The Target boycott is costing more than anyone expected

A boycott against Target over its bathroom policy seems to be costing the retailer more than anyone expected.

The boycott started in April after Target announced that it would welcome transgender customers to use any bathroom or fitting room that matched their gender identity.

The announcement triggered an immediate backlash. Critics said the policy opened the door for sexual predators to victimize women and children inside the retailer's bathrooms, and more than 1.4 million people signed a pledge to stop shopping at Target unless it reversed the policy.

But Target didn't back down.

Now shopper traffic is declining for the first time in years, and the company is installing single-occupancy bathrooms in all of its stores to give critics of the policy more privacy. The new bathrooms, which already exist in a majority of Target stores, are costing Target $20 million to install, Fortune reports.

The company revealed its traffic declines last week when it reported second-quarter earnings.

Target's same-store transactions, which is how traffic is measured, fell 2.2% in the second quarter. Overall, sales fell 7.2% to $16.2 billion.

"In the second quarter, our No. 1 challenge was traffic, which affected sales in all of our merchandise categories," Target CEO Brian Cornell said last week on a call with analysts.

Cathy Smith, the company's chief financial officer, added: "Traffic performance showed a meaningful change from prior trend. I want to pause and make it clear that we are not satisfied with our second-quarter traffic and sales performance."

In the past, even the most widespread calls for company boycotts have tended to blow over within a matter of weeks to months.

Chick-fil-A, for example, faced a nationwide boycott in 2012 after Dan Cathy, the son of Chick-fil-A's founder, S. Truett Cathy, set off a fury among gay-rights supporters when he told Baptist Press that the company was "guilty as charged" for backing "the biblical definition of a family."

Following Cathy's remarks, reports emerged detailing Chick-fil-A's many charitable donations to organizations opposed to same-sex marriage.

Despite the backlash, Chick-fil-A's sales soared 14% in 2012.

Investors seem unsure of the long-term impact of the boycott on Target's sales, however.

The retailer's stock is down 1% since the start of the year.

Target was never that popular to begin with (and never was able to compete well with Walmart, Sams, etc) - I never liked it much either, b/c it's hard to get around in it.

Chicago Man Who Identifies as Woman Sues Over City’s Ban on Toplessness in Bars

A Chicago man who identifies as a woman has filed a federal lawsuit over the city’s ban on toplessness in bars, asserting that it is discriminatory against women.

The 23-year-old man, who goes by Bea Sullivan-Knoff, was filed Wednesday and is the next step after city council members refused calls to relax Chicago’s nudity laws as they pertain to bars and strip clubs.

Current statutes outline that facilities holding liquor licenses may not “permit any employee, entertainer or patron to engage in any live act, demonstration, dance or exhibition on the licensed premises which exposes to public view … any portion of the female breast…”

Sullivan-Knoff, a self-described “queer transgender woman, poet, playright and performance artist,” asserts that in his case, performing **** would help to combat negative societal perceptions about those who identify as transgender.

“Since most of this negative rhetoric centers on the specifics of trans bodies, and most times invasively so, I most often perform about the body, which often involves the presence of my **** body or partially **** body onstage, in an attempt to reclaim a part of myself too often taken from me,” he said at a news conference last week, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Sullivan-Knoff contends that the law, however, inhibits his freedom to present such performances.

“It has happened on numerous occasions that I’m told I’m not allowed to do a given performance in a given space,” he said. “And instead I have to come up with something that isn’t as artistically fulfilling for myself.”

Therefore, Sullivan-Knoff’s lawsuit declares that the strip club performer “is seeking reclaim her body in the face of legislation and discrimination directed against transgender bodies, to make herself vulnerable and to create an impactful experience for the audience.”

His attorney states that the ban is unconstitutional.

“The law itself violates the First Amendment. It violates people’s rights for freedom of expression and freedom of speech in their performance,” Mary Grieb told reporters.

She asserts that the law is also sexist because the **** prohibition does not apply to men, and says that it is “archaic” to believe it is improper for women—or those who identify as women—to bear their breasts.

“In 2016, in a city as diverse as Chicago, there should not be an ordinance reflecting 19th century ideas about sex and gender,” Grieb said. “While men, whether as performers or patrons in Chicago’s hot and humid summers routinely remove clothing from their torsos—whether as artistic expressions or simply to cool off—women are prohibited from doing so due to the threat venues’ liquor licenses.”

She contended that the law “should be an embarrassment to a modern city in the 21st century.”

The city has not commented on the matter.

As previously reported, while the issue of “transgender” toplessness may be novel, the general movement for “**** equality” is becoming increasingly significant across America, and for some, may be considered the next “civil rights” movement.

Naked bike rides have also become an annual spectacle in major cities across the country, from Philadelphia to Chicago to Los Angeles and even St. Louis, Missouri. Organizers advise participants to arrive as unclothed as they dare.

In Asheville, North Carolina, former Vice Mayor Carl Mumford and former Republican party County Chair Chad Nesbitt chastised Christians in 2012 for being silent about continued “Go ****” events in the community.

“The faith based community, per usual, played it safe and didn’t say a word.  There remains a big difference in a house of worship and a religious country club devoted to member services,” the men declared. “Asheville has been called a ‘Cesspool of Sin’—it’s a title that fits and an opportunity for people of faith. Less so for people of comfort.”

Cosmo Celebrates Latest Transgender Trend: Chestfeeding

It's back to school time, so here's your new vocab word from the PC lexicon: "chestfeeding."

What? You've never even heard of it? Well, Cosmo's Kathryn Lindsay is willing to give you a pass. "If it's new to you," she wrote in an August 24 article, "that's understandable—it's not something typically talked about in mainstream pregnancy circles."

Following a recent study funded by the Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), chestfeeding—or gender neutral feeding of babies from whatever you've got up there—is now on the liberal media's radar. An Atlantic article by Britni de la Cretaz got the ball rolling, and soon Cosmo picked it up too.

Lindsay began her article with the story of Trevor MacDonald, who "just wants to be the best dad possible for his son." Yet, when it came to breastfeeding, the parent had a problem. As a trans man, MacDonald's breasts had been removed.

Despite what you might think, post-surgical chestfeeding is possible, although milk levels are likely to be lower. "The bigger obstacle," Lindsay opined, "is the heteronormative medical system."

MacDonald realized this after reaching out to the medical community for support. As it turns out, obstetricians were not very "inclusive of the practice."

Reporting on the CIHR study, de la Cretaz wrote that "doctors sometimes contributed to feelings of dysphoria by referring to [participants] with female pronouns." Additionally, no surgeons had discussed the possibility of chestfeeding with patients before performing "top" surgery. Masculine clothing was also difficult to find.

Besides these insensitivities, the very act of suckling "can lead to complicated feelings about ... gender." Lindsay mentioned the strong "clash of feeling" that some participants felt by presenting as a male, but engaging in an act that has been considered a solely feminine act. Engagement in chestfeeding can throw these people "back into a world of uncertainty, which takes a toll," the Cosmo writer explained.

But Dr. Deena Blanchard of Premier Pediatrics understands. According to Lindsay, she believes that we should "work on expanding our definition of breastfeeding so it covers every type of family and opportunity."

So that's chestfeeding. Stay tuned for your next vocab lesson—it will probably come sooner than you think.

Transgender man gives birth to his OWN BABY in world first

This story is such a LIE! That headline is a LIE! This is a woman pretending to be a man, and a man pretending to be a woman. Nothing special here. A woman got pregnant from a man.  Tongue

A TRANSGENDER couple has become the first to have their own child after a man gave birth to his own baby.

Fernando Machado, who used to be a woman, met Diane Rodriguez, who used to be a man, on social media two years ago and started a relationship.

Ms Rodriguez made headlines in Ecuador in 2013 when she was the first transgender candidate to run for Government.

Then they decided they wanted a child, and Mr Machado soon made the discovery he was expecting.

The couple were able to have a baby because neither had undergone corrective surgery.

Posting a photograph of their new son on Facebook, the couple wrote: “Our son is not only a blessing, but he also promotes love.”

Ms Rodriguez, who was born a man named Luis, said: "We don't have a name yet, or rather we do, we are just waiting to announce it.

"Being a mother was never something I thought I would do because I am a transsexual.

"The law before demanded that to be recognised as a woman you had to be castrated.

"We are the same as other families. Even though we might not have the same rights, we're the same."

The new parents have previously spoken of her struggle after coming out to her family about her sex change.

Ms Rodriguez said: “We live as man and woman. I’m a transfeminine woman and Fernando is a transmasculine man. The process to get here was complex for each of us.

“Knowing it's our right, we decided to add another member to our family.”

Mr Machado said that when he discovered he was pregnant, he “started crying with happiness, fear and dread”.

He said: ”I had never felt like that before. Wow, at last, I am completely happy.”

The pair are one of the most high profile transgender couples in South America.

COLUMBUS, Ohio –  A federal judge rejected a school district's challenge to President Barack Obama's rule on transgender bathrooms on Monday, ordering a biologically male student who identifies as female be treated "like the girl she is."

Judge Algenon Marbley said the Highland Local Schools in Morrow County had failed to provide a persuasive argument that giving the student access to the girls' restroom would jeopardize other students' privacy or safety. He further ordered that Highland use a female name and pronouns in referring to the 11-year-old.

"(S)chool districts that have encountered these very issues have been able to integrate transgender students fully into the academic and social community without disruption, and certainly without the doomsday scenarios Highland predicts, such as sexual predators entering an elementary-school restroom," he wrote.

There's "certainly no evidence" the student, referred to in court documents as Jane Doe, is likely to violate other students' privacy or put their safety at risk when using the girls' restroom, he wrote.

Target's Transgender Bathroom Policy Leads to 10 Crimes Targeting Girls Undressing, Says AFA

The American Family Association has compiled a list of 10 cases to showcase why Target's bathroom policies that allow male customers who identify as female to go into women's bathrooms and dressing rooms is dangerous to women and children.

"The overwhelming evidence continues to pile up against Target's policy to allow men into women's restrooms and dressing rooms in its stores," AFA President Tim Wildmon wrote on Thursday.

Target has defended its decision by stating: "We welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity. ... Everyone deserves to feel like they belong."

But Wildmon argued that what this means is that a man can simply state that he feels like a woman on any given day, and go in to use the women's restroom.

"Target's policy is exactly how sexual predators get access to their victims. And the proof keeps mounting," he said.

"Clearly, Target's dangerous policy poses a threat to wives and daughters. Over 1.4 million people have pledged to boycott Target stores until protecting women and children is a priority."

AFA then listed 10 cases this past year of men found recording, taking photos, or peering into women's restrooms at Target stores nationwide:

Man wanted for taking photos inside Target changing room
Transgender woman caught filming in Target changing room
Man seen reaching under stall with phone in Target dressing room
'Peeping Tom' reported in Target dressing room
Teen girl reports dressing room peeper at Target
Police Looking for Target Peeper
Target peeping Tom pleads guilty
Man Arrested for Taking Photos of Woman in Target Bathroom
Peeping tom caught filming women in Brentwood Target dressing rooms
'Peeping Tom' took pics of people in Target bathroom

In one case, a transgender woman was arrested in Idaho back in July for recording an 18-year-old girl in the Idaho Falls Target store.

Shaun Smith, the accused, later admitted to having recorded the videos for "the same reason men look at pornography."

In another story at a Target store in New Jersey earlier in September, a man was caught taking pictures of women changing in the stall next to him, though he fled the scene in a car.

Target has repeatedly defended its policies, and has said that "guests are at the center of everything we do and our commitment to creating a safe and secure shopping environment in our stores is unwavering."

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton revealed last week that he has sent several letters to Target asking the retail giant to put together safety measures concerning its policies on bathrooms and changing rooms, but revealed that he has not received any response.

Ed Vitagliano, who is executive vice-president at AFA, explained that the conservative group's petition is not aiming to attack transgender people, but wants Target to go back to gender-specific bathrooms, where guests and workers use the restroom of their birth sex.

"We do not consider transgendered individuals to be a threat to women and children; however, the policy that has been instituted removes an initial obstacle for those who want to victimize women and children," Vitagliano said.

AFA has said that it will not be ending its boycott until Target reverses its policies, and said that the proposed plan by the retail giant to add one unisex bathroom at each of its 300 stores in the United States that don't already have one still doesn't do anything to protect when and children.

"Unisex bathrooms are fine, but our request has always been that Target maintain the gender-specific bathrooms as well — if the company is interested in guaranteeing the safety and privacy of women and girls who patronize the retailer's stores," Wildmon previously said.

Pennsylvania ‘Transgender’ Students Sue School District Over New Restroom Resolution

Three students in the Pittsburgh area who identify as transgender have sued their school district over its new resolution that student should use the restroom that correlates with their biological gender.

Jacob Evancho, who goes by the name Juliet, Erik Ridenour, who goes by the name Elissa, and a third student who has only identified themselves as A.S., have sued the Pine-Richland School District for changing its rules regarding restroom use.

Evancho, who is the brother of youth singing sensation Jackie Evancho, began identifying as a girl last year. He had previously appeared on his sister’s album.

“Juliet sang the male part, which caused her distress,” the legal challenge outlines. “She considered this to be a huge step backward because everyone who listened to the song heard a boy, but Juliet knew she was a girl.”

Last month, the Pine-Richland School District overturned its longstanding practice of allowing students to use the restroom that corresponds with their “gender identity.”

“This resolution agreed to by a majority of the board of directors of the Pine-Richland School District indicates our support to return to the long-standing practice of providing sex-specific facility usage,” the resolution, passed 5-4, read. “All students will have the choice of using either the facilities that correspond to their biological sex or unisex facilities. This practice will remain in place until such time that a policy may be developed and approved.”

Students could also use the unisex restrooms or the restroom in the nurse’s office.

On Thursday, Lambda Legal filed a lawsuit on behalf of the three students, stating that the move violates Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as well as the equal protection clause of the U.S. Constitution.

“The three brave students we represent are simply looking for equal educational opportunities and for the district to return to a practice that served everyone well,” attorney Omar Gonzalez-Pagan said during a press conference, according to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. “They want to be able to graduate from Pine-Richland knowing the school recognized and respected who they are.

“Forcing them to use restrooms that do match their identity erases students’ gender identity, endangers the health and safety of transgender students and isolates them from the entire student body and at the same time violates their privacy,” he said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Education also told the outlet that it believes schools have to uphold the Obama administration’s recent guidelines on the matter.

“All schools in Pennsylvania that receive federal funding are expected to comply with the requirements as outlined by the U.S. Departments of Education and Justice,” said spokesperson Casey Smith. “The Wolf administration is committed to creating a culture of inclusiveness across the commonwealth. The governor will continue to work with the General Assembly to pass comprehensive anti-discrimination legislation that protects all Pennsylvanians.”

The Pine-Richland School District has declined to comment on pending litigation.

As previously reported, over 20 states have joined in lawsuits challenging the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice for requiring schools to accommodate students’ “gender identity” under threat of losing their federal funding.

“Neither the text nor the legislative history of Title IX supports an interpretation of the term ‘sex’ as meaning anything other than one’s sex as determined by anatomy and genetics,” one of the legal briefs read.

CoverGirl Announces First Male Makeup-Wearing ‘CoverBoy’ Model

The makeup giant CoverGirl has announced its first “Coverboy” model—a 17-year-old boy who regularly wears makeup and says that the practice is “becoming more widely accepted” in society.

CoverGirl made the announcement on social media on Tuesday, introducing James Charles of Bethlehem, N.Y. as a “boundary breaker.”
“Meet @JCharlesBeauty: makeup artist, boundary breaker, and the newest COVERGIRL!” the company wrote. “Spread the word by regramming using #COVERGIRLJames.”

Charles, who regularly conducts makeup tutorials online, has 500,000 followers on Instagram and nearly 80,000 subscribers on his YouTube.

“Today, I am living out one of my biggest dreams,” he said in a video clip also posted by the company. “That’s right, I am a new CoverGirl.”

Charles told reporters following the announcement that he believes that gender “stereotypes” need to be broken surrounding the use of makeup.

“Breaking gender norms just comes instantly as soon as a boy is comfortable and confident enough to put on makeup. I think it’s so important to love who you are and be comfortable in your own skin,” he said to BuzzFeed.

“I see new guys on my Instagram feed every single day rocking amazing makeup looks and crazy out-of-the-box stuff. It’s a growing industry, and the population of boys in the industry is growing as well,” Charles also told the New York Times. “Men in makeup is becoming more widely accepted. But it’s going to take so much more open-mindedness to have it be a common thing.”

Charles, who also identifies as homosexual, says that he believes society is becoming more open to the unconventional.

“Gay marriage laws were passed recently. Now with people on social media and boys in makeup, we’re becoming more accepting in general,” he stated. “We have a lot longer to go. All of our biggest issues have taken a long time.”

When asked how he differs from a drag queen, Charles said that drag queens attempt to appear female, while he sees himself as just a boy in makeup.

“They are really similar in expressing yourself and releasing your creative juices. But boys in makeup are boys in makeup,” he said. “When you’re a drag performer, you’re a boy in makeup performing as a female. Drag is performance artistry.”

CoverGirl’s announcement, which obtained over 35,000 likes as of press time, has drawn both applause and dismay.

“I don’t put definitions on gender because freedom of expression … is freedom of expression on anyone. I won’t put limitations on anyone through materials such as clothing or makeup,” one follower wrote.

“Do I dress as a guy when I wear pants? No. Same way you’re not dressing as a girl wearing makeup,” another opined.

“[A]ncient men wore just as much makeup as women did. Everyone that is complaining and arguing against this is dumb and needs to learn that its 2016 and things are changing now,” a third remarked.

“I’m not sorry! Men shouldn’t wear makeup! And I don’t care if anyone disagrees with me,” wrote one follower who expressed concern.

“People need to open a Bible,” another remarked. “I’m pretty sure when God created the world, He didn’t want guys to dress up as girls.”

“We have no more society,” a third lamented. “All they want to do is further destroy families. Kept everyone guessing [about] what’s right and what’s wrong. No more genders. It’s to keep us submissive as a whole.”

We're in a day and age now where Youtube, Facebook, and social media raises children, and not their parents. Very sad.

Johns Hopkins Distances From Psychiatrists’ Report That There’s No ‘Scientific Evidence’ People Born Homosexual

Officials with Johns Hopkins Medicine have distanced themselves from a report written by two of its psychiatrists that states that there is no scientific evidence that people are born homosexual or in the wrong body.

“In recent months, some have questioned our position, both inside and outside the institution, not because of any change in our practice or policy, but because of the varied individual opinions expressed publicly by members of the Johns Hopkins Medicine community,” wrote Dr. Paul Rothman, dean of medical faculty, and Ronald Peterson, president of Johns Hopkins Health System, in an email letter sent on Oct. 7 to students and alumni.

“We have taken these concerns seriously. We want to reiterate our institutional support for LGBT individuals and update you on the work we are doing to further that commitment,” it stated.

As previously reported, in August, Johns Hopkins psychiatrists Dr. Lawrence Mayer and Dr. Paul McHugh penned a controversial report entitled Sexuality and Gender: Findings from the Biological, Psychological, and Social Sciences, which was published in The New Atlantis.

“Some of the most widely held views about sexual orientation, such as the ‘born that way’ hypothesis, simply are not supported by science,” the men wrote. “The literature in this area does describe a small ensemble of biological differences between non-heterosexuals and heterosexuals, but those biological differences are not sufficient to predict sexual orientation, the ultimate test of any scientific finding.”

They criticized what they call the “common assumption that sexual desires, attractions, or longings reveal some innate and fixed feature of our biological or psychological constitution, a fixed sexual identity or orientation,” finding even the phrase “sexual orientation” to be ambiguous and without “widely accepted scientific definitions.”

The doctors additionally expressed doubt that one is born in the wrong body, that “there is no evidence that all children who express gender-atypical thoughts or behavior should be encouraged to become transgender.” Rather, they noted that the philosophy that gender is a “social construct” grew out of the feminist movement.

But following opposition to the report, which the men stated was based on 200 peer-reviewed studies in matters such as epidemiology, genetics, psychiatry and neuroscience, as well as embryology, Johns Hopkins officials wished to advise that the institution in itself “will remain steadfast in enacting our commitment to LGBTQ equality.”

“When individuals associated with Johns Hopkins exercise the right of expression, they do not speak on behalf of the institution,” Rothman and Peterson advised in their email letter.

They also outlined several organizational policies—both existing and new—surrounding homosexuality and transgenderism.

“We have expanded our health care benefits to cover transgender health services, including surgical procedures, with no lifetime maximum benefit,” the men advised. “We have committed to and will soon begin providing gender-affirming surgery as another important element of our overall care program, reflecting careful consideration over the past year of best practices and the appropriate provision of care for transgender individuals.”

The homosexual advocacy group Human Rights Campaign had urged Johns Hopkins to release an “official statement about McHugh and Mayer’s activities.”

“If Hopkins’ leadership ignores their community’s call to correct the record—clarifying that McHugh and Mayer’s opinions do not represent it, and that its healthcare services provided reflect the scientific consensus on LGBTQ health and well-being—its Healthcare Equality Index score will be reduced substantially,” it wrote in a blog post on the matter.

Psalms 51:5 teaches mankind, “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.” Jesus also outlined in John 3 that since all men are born in sin being descendants of Adam, and by their very nature have tendencies to distort God’s perfect design, they must be born again and receive a new nature.

“Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God,” Jesus said. “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.”

Doctors, Lawmakers Embrace Gender Dysphoria Treatments

New York legislators and Johns Hopkins University doctors are reversing course and advocating for unproven hormone treatments and surgery for patients with gender dysphoria (GD). And in New York, lawmakers want taxpayers to foot the bill.

A policy under public review in New York proposes the state use Medicaid funding to pay for hormone treatment and, in some cases, sex-reassignment surgery for minors diagnosed with gender dysphoria. In Baltimore, Md., Johns Hopkins last week reversed its policy and notified the school’s “medicine community” it would begin offering “gender-affirming” surgery. Both policy statements, issued last week, are being advanced despite the absence of Food and Drug Administration approval or long-term studies demonstrating the effectiveness of those treatments in minors.

Public comment regarding the New York policy is being accepted by the Department of Health until Nov. 19. When drafting the original New York policy, lawmakers did not propose using Medicaid to pay for puberty-suppressing and cross-sex hormone therapy for patients under 18 due to “reservations about the safety and efficacy.”

“For one thing, the use of hormone therapy to treat GD in individuals under the age of 18 is not approved by the federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA), nor is it indicated as an accepted off-label use by any of the pharmaceutical compendia relied on by the Medicaid program,” the policy analysis noted. “This may be due to the apparent dearth of quality, longitudinal studies on the long term effects of providing such treatments to the under 18 population.”

But New York doctors are forging ahead and prescribing hormone-altering medications for patients 18 and younger, so the legislature proposed the policy to provide Medicaid coverage for the treatments.

“[Physicians] acknowledged that it would be ideal if more high-quality studies were available on the long-term effects of the treatments, but all believed that the positive effects they have observed in the short term in improving the mental health of minors with GD outweigh the potential long-term risks,” analysis authors wrote.

Johns Hopkins is shifting course and offering hormone therapy and sex-reassignment surgery to patients after two months of backlash aimed at the school for a report authored by two faculty members. In August, Paul McHugh, professor of psychiatry and outspoken opponent of sex-reassignment surgery, and Lawrence Mayer published a review of 200 studies on sexual orientation and gender identity that contradicted popular conclusions about human sexuality.

The authors were especially critical of gender dysphoria treatments such as pubertal suppression hormones and cross-sex hormone therapy, neither of which have been proven effective. The authors urged caution in prescribing hormone therapy as a gender dysphoria treatment.

The LGBT advocacy group Human Rights Campaign demanded the school dissociate itself from the report and its authors or face a public-relations smear. Human Rights Campaign seeks to influence medical policy across the nation by creating a checklist of “Responsible Citizenship Criteria” focused on “known activity that would undermine LGBTQ equality or patient care.”

“Healthcare facilities will have 25 points deducted from their score for a large-scale official or public anti-LGBTQ blemish on their recent records,” the organization stated.

“If Hopkins’ leadership ignores their community’s call to correct the record—clarifying that McHugh and Mayer’s opinions do not represent it and that its healthcare services provided reflect the scientific consensus on LGBTQ health and well-being—its Healthcare Equality Index score will be reduced substantially,” Human Rights Campaign wrote on its website.

Some Johns Hopkins employees denounced the McHugh-Mayer report and asked the school to reiterate its support for LGBT patients and staff. In response, the school issued a letter signed by four department heads and distributed by President Ronald Daniels assuring the public it would start offering “gender-affirming” treatments.

“We declare our university’s unequivocal and profound commitment to the LGBTQ community, those who are part of our academic family, and those we seek to serve,” Daniels wrote. The letter reiterated its commitment to academic freedom as a “fundamental principle” but said its faculty members did not speak for the school when they publish outside of the university.

Supreme Court takes up transgender school bathroom case

Washington (CNN)The Supreme Court agreed on Friday to take up a case concerning a transgender high school student in Virginia who is seeking to use the boys' bathroom at school.

The case, which should be heard this term, marks the first time the Supreme Court has considered the controversial issue playing out across the country, most notably in North Carolina, where the Justice Department has filed a civil rights suit against the state's so-called bathroom law.

A lower court had ruled in favor of the student, Gavin Grimm, but last summer the Supreme Court agreed to temporarily stay that ruling while it considered an appeal from the Gloucester County School Board.

LGBT Rights Milestones Fast Facts
"I'm nothing particularly threatening or extraordinary," Grimm told CNN in an interview earlier this year. "I'm just another 17-year-old kid."
Grimm and his mother told officials at Gloucester High School in 2014 that although his birth certificate recorded him as a female, he had transitioned to being male and had legally changed his name. The school initially allowed him the use of the boys' bathroom but reversed course after members of the community expressed concern.

The case will likely be the highest profile issue the shorthanded Supreme Court will hear this term. There are only eight justices due to Justice Antonin Scalia's sudden death and Senate Republicans refusal to hold hearings for Judge Merrick Garland.

The case drew national attention of groups including the Alliance Defending Freedom, a non-profit legal organization based in Arizona that advocates for religious freedom.

Lawyers for the group sent a letter to the school board, stating that only a "minuscule percentage" of individuals identify as transgender and that it was necessary for the school board to protect "other students' privacy and free exercise rights," as well as "parents' right to educate their children."

After the community meetings, the school barred Grimm from the boys' room but offered him an accommodation.

Under the new policy, Grimm could use the bathroom in the nurse's office or newly constructed single stall bathrooms.

Grimm -- the only student required to use the single stall bathrooms -- thought the so called accommodation was unacceptable.

"I'm not unisex," he told CNN.

His lawyers filed a lawsuit. A federal appeals court ruled in Grimm's favor, deferring to guidance put out by the Obama administration concerning Title IX, a federal law that bans sex discrimination in schools.

That guidance interprets "sex discrimination" to include claims based on gender identity.

The fact that the Supreme Court has taken up the case means that Grimm will be barred from using the boys' bathroom unless and until the high court rules in his favor.

"I will do everything I can to make sure that other transgender students don't have to go through the same experience," Grimm said in a statement Friday.

‘It’s Absolutely Huge’ — Biological Male Dominates Women’s Cycling Competition

Where are the feminists at for things like this?

A 36-year-old biological male dominated the women’s division of the El Tour de Tucson last weekend, an annual cycling competition in Arizona that attracts thousands of amateur and professional cyclists.

Jillian Bearden — who identifies as a transgender women — won the 106-mile race in 4 hours and 36 minutes, the Arizona Daily Star reported.

Bearden finished approximately 25 minutes behind former Mexican Olympian cyclist Hugo Rangel, who took home first place in the men’s division.

“It’s absolutely huge,” Bearden told the Daily Star, referring to his victory. “We’re at a moment of time — especially now — where not only do we have to come out but we have to be positive. We have to come together in solidarity and move this country in a direction that is accepting of all.”

Bearden’s victory is just the latest example of what critics say is an unfair advantage biological men have when competing in women’s athletic events.

In June, Alaskan high school girls felt cheated after teenage male Nattaphon Wangyot took home all-state honors in girls’ track and field. (RELATED: High School Boy Wins All-State Honors In Girls’ Track And Field)

Wangyot identified as a transgender teenage girl.

“I’m glad that this person is comfortable with who they are and they’re able to be happy in who they are, but I don’t think it’s competitively completely 100-percent fair,” one of Wangyot’s defeated female competitors said at the time.

The International Olympics Committee recently changed its ruled to allow biological men to compete as women without first undergoing a sex-change operation. (RELATED: Report: 2 British Men Competed As Women In Rio Olympics)

Zales Attempts to Normalize Sin

Zales Jewelers should be ashamed of attempting to normalize sin by featuring two women getting married in its latest commercial, which shows two women in wedding gowns exchanging vows and wedding bands. Zales is promoting same-sex marriage and their new "Love and Pride" Collection. The "Love and Pride" wedding band collection, designed for the LGBTQ community with rainbow and matching bands, is "promoting Equality, Diversity and Unity" and encourages same-sex couples to "celebrate their Love with Pride" as stated on its website.

Zales is using public airwaves to subject families to the decay of morals and values, and belittle the sanctity of marriage in an attempt to redefine marriage. Even though homosexuality is unnatural, this advertisement is pushing the LGBTQ agenda. An even greater concern is that the commercial is airing when children are likely watching television. To make matters worse, this ad has aired during family viewing time such as football games and prime-time shows.

Zales crossed a line that should have never been crossed. Even if 1MM didn't disagree morally with the decision to air this ad, it is not a retailer's job to introduce so called social issues such as this to our children. That is a parent's decision. Zales is glorifying sin, and no sin should be placed in the spotlight and honored. This goes for homosexuality as well.

Millions of Americans strongly believe marriage should be between one man and one woman. It is obvious that Zales would rather take sides than remain neutral in the culture war. Zales will hear from the other side, so the company needs to hear from us as well. Our persistence will pay off. One day, we will answer for our actions or lack of them. We must remain diligent and stand up for biblical values and truth. Scripture says multiple times that homosexuality is wrong, and God will not tolerate this sinful lifestyle (Romans 1:26-27).

Please contact Zales Jewelers through our website, urge the company to pull this inappropriate commercial immediately and remain neutral in the culture war. Also, let Zales know that continuing to air this offensive advertisement in the future will force your family to decide to avoid its stores, especially during the Christmas season.

Also, while out shopping, stop by your local Zales and let the store manager know why you will not be shopping there during the Christmas season. Please be kind and request the manager pass along your concern to the corporate level, urging Zales to remain neutral in the cultural war.

Judge Halts Obama Admin Rules That Might Require Doctors to Assist With ‘Gender Transitions’

A federal judge in Texas has halted a rule issued by the Obama administration that some believe might require doctors to aid patients who desire to undergo gender transition treatments—from hormone therapy to mastectomies—despite their convictions or belief that the procedure would not be beneficial for the person.

“Plaintiffs will be forced to either violate their religious beliefs or maintain their current policies which seem to be in direct conflict with the rule and risk the severe consequences of enforcement,” declared Judge Reed O’Connor on Saturday, who also had halted a rule regarding “transgender” restroom use at public schools this past summer.

He found that the hospital regulations would likely violate the federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA).

As previously reported, Texas, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Nebraska, Arizona, Louisiana, Mississippi and Kansas all filed suit over the matter in August, as well as the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the Roman Catholic Franciscan Alliance.

Retailer Target Abruptly Shuts Expansion Projects amid Boycott over Transgender Policy

Target announced the end of two projects as the stock price fell 64.77 at market close on Feb. 8. That’s down from $83 dollars when the boycott began once the company made its transgender policy change on April 19. The stock price drop has slashed roughly $10 billion from the company’s value on Wall Street.

Target announced it was shutting down a project billed as the “Store of the Future.” The project was aimed at developing a new outlet design that would consist of a smaller upfront retail store fronting a warehouse with robots picking items for the customers up front, recode.com reported. The closure was so sudden that it caught the project’s manager by surprise.

This project was expected to incorporate its Internet-based e-commerce offerings and was also set to offer space for customers to attend classes or have “meet-ups.”

The second project was codenamed “Goldfish,”and it was intended to create an online marketplace upon which other retailers and manufacturers could sell products to customers through Target.

Trump Admin Withdraws Obama-Era Request for Stay of Block on ‘Transgender’ Restroom Use Policy

In what appears to some as being a signal that the Trump administration is not going to defend the Obama administration’s directives requiring public schools to allow male students who identify as female—and vice versa—to use the restroom that correlates with their “internal sense of gender,” the U.S. Department of Justice has withdrawn the previous administration’s request for a stay of an injunction against the Obama-era restroom policy.

The filing, submitted on Friday, notifies the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals that it desires to withdraw the motion, as well as the oral argument scheduled over the matter, which was to be held on Tuesday.

“Defendants-appellants hereby withdraw their pending November 23, 2016 motion for partial stay pending appeal. The parties jointly move to remove from the court’s calendar the February 14, 2017 oral argument currently scheduled for that motion,” it reads. “The parties are currently considering how best to proceed in this appeal.”

As previously reported, after 13 states sued the Obama administration last year over its directives, which warned that “[a]s a condition of receiving federal funds, a school agrees that it will not exclude, separate, deny benefits to, or otherwise treat differently on the basis of sex any person in its educational programs or activities unless expressly authorized to do so under Title IX or its implementing regulations.”

But in August, U.S. District Judge Reed O’Connor determined that the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Justice had not followed the proper channels in issuing the nationwide guidance, and suggested that the departments’ interpretation of federal law was incorrect.

“It cannot be disputed that the plain meaning of the term sex … following passage of Title IX meant the biological and anatomical differences between male and female students as determined at their birth,” he wrote.

“Without question, permitting educational institutions to provide separate housing to male and female students, and separate educational instruction concerning human sexuality, was to protect students’ personal privacy, or discussion of their personal privacy, while in the presence of members of the opposite biological sex.”

The Obama administration filed a motion for a partial stay—only applying to the suing states, as it intended to defend its restroom directives. But on Friday, the Department of Justice, under the leadership of new attorney general Jeff Sessions, withdrew the motion.

Department spokesman Peter Carr declined to comment to reporters on the matter.

Transgender advocacy groups decried the move.

“It is sending a signal they don’t intend to enforce the guidance in any state. They are fine with their hands being tied,” Sarah Warbelow, legal director for the Human Rights Campaign, told CNN. “The DOJ should be a champion for all students’ civil rights and by signaling a willingness to be bound by the injunction nationwide they are certainly signaling they aren’t intending to pursue civil rights for transgender people.”

Last May, then-candidate Donald Trump said that he believed transgender restroom use would be best left to the states.

“I think this should be a states’ issue. It’s become a huge story and yet it affects—and everybody has to be protected, if it’s one person—but it’s a tiny, tiny portion of the population, and it’s become a massive story,” he stated. “I think there should be a states’ issue.”

However, when asked during NBC’s “Today” show in April if he personally would be fine with Bruce “Caitlyn” Jenner using the restroom of his choice at Trump Tower, he replied in the affirmative.

“That is correct,” Trump said.

Jenner later recorded himself taking a bathroom break at the facility, adding, “Thank you, Donald. I really appreciate it.”

No 'Doubt:' New CBS Drama Pushes Dangerous Transgender Agenda

The new CBS legal drama Doubt premiered on Wednesday night, and while it stars Katherine Heigl, Laverne Cox is getting all the attention for being the first transgender to be cast as a series regular on a network TV show—i.e. liberals are forcing the radical LGBQT agenda on American TV viewers again.

Cox plays Cameron, a lawyer whose client, Lester, is a paranoid schizophrenic on trial for murder. In order to get her client a verdict of not-guilty by reason of insanity, Cameron wants Lester to stop taking his medication so his symptoms are more visible to the jury. In this scene, Lester asks if Cameron is a man because "I didn't know if it was real or in my mind."

Cameron: Just like yesterday, not taking your meds is your choice.
    Lester: You're a man, right?
    Dad: Lester ...
Cameron: It's okay. I'm a woman, but I used to be a man.
Lester: That's right. I remember you told me.
Cameron: Are you still comfortable with me representing you?
Lester: Yeah. I-I just didn't know if it was real or in my mind.
    Cameron: It's real.
    Lester: I'm not taking these.

Cameron says, "I'm a woman, but I used to be a man."

Sorry, but there is no "used to be." As much as you change your outside appearance, you can't change your chromosomes. As Dr. Joseph Berger, a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, says, "Cosmetic surgery will not make a man become a woman, capable of menstruating, ovulating and having children. Cosmetic surgery will not make a woman into a man, capable of generating sperm that can unite with an egg or ovum from a woman and fertilize that egg to produce a human child."

Similarly, Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital and its current Distinguished Service Professor of Psychiatry has said, "'Sex change' is biologically impossible. People who undergo sex-reassignment surgery do not change from men to women or vice versa. Rather, they become feminized men or masculinized women."

It's very interesting that the show has Cox's character—of all people—talking about mental illness because, after all, gender identity disorder, or gender dysphoria, is a mental illness listed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Dr. McHugh says, "This intensely felt sense of being transgendered constitutes a mental disorder in two respects. The first is that the idea of sex misalignment is simply mistaken—it does not correspond with physical reality. The second is that it can lead to grim psychological outcomes."

This really struck me in one scene where Cameron tells the jury how sick and tormented Lester is because she could very well be describing herself.

Dr. McHugh says, "Policy-makers and the media are doing no favors either to the public or the transgendered by treating their confusions as a right in need of defending rather than as a mental disorder that deserves understanding, treatment and prevention. ... Claiming that this is civil-rights matter and encouraging surgical intervention is in reality to collaborate with and promote a mental disorder."

I'm sure it won't surprise you to hear that Laverne Cox's character and casting were entirely political. According to the Star Tribune, Doubt creators Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, who are married and have a transgender son, wanted to have a transgender character so they could "normalize" them to the American people, just as they did with a lesbian couple on Grey's Anatomy: "By putting those characters in people's living rooms week after week, they got to know them and like them. That went a long way in, for lack of a better word, normalizing them, letting people see that their relationship was not this threatening, terrible thing."

To further force this down our throats, they are also planning some transgender sex scenes between Cox and a man. Cox said, "In the script it says, before our first steamy moment, that it's 'the hottest hotness that has ever existed.'" The creators further explained:

"Laverne's story through the season is the great love story of the show. She falls in love with a cis guy who is a prosecutor," said Phelan.

"Laverne is so charming and the guy, Ben Lawson, who we cast as the love interest—they have amazing chemistry. It was fun to watch their love story emerge. We get to play a lot of themes and conversations that I have not seen on TV," Rater added.

"A little more of the nitty gritty with a trans woman and a cis guy coming together—as well as the fun, and the excitement and sexiness."

Sorry, but I am in no way interested in the "nitty gritty" of what goes on between a man and a transgender woman!

All this is coupled with the revelation that Heigl's character's mother is a "left-wing radical" in jail for killing a police officer in the 1980s—but "she's amazing!" There is no doubt that this show will be a liberal social justice warrior's dream—and a nightmare for the rest of us.

This is the top story on the front page of my local newspaper today...

High school transgender wrestler wins Texas regional title
Mack Beggs’ grandmother said Beggs wants to compete against boys but will follow UIL rules

2/19/17

ALLEN, Texas — A 17-year-old Dallas-area high school transgender wrestler who is transitioning from female to male has won a girls regional championship after a female opponent forfeited the match.

Mack Beggs, a Euless Trinity High School junior who is undefeated this wrestling season, hugged losing opponent Madeline Rocha, from Coppell, on the victory stand Saturday after their match for the 110-pound Class 6A Region 2 championship never took place when Rocha declined to wrestle.

Beggs and Rocha advance to the state championships next weekend. The top four finishers in the region qualified for the state tournament. Beggs did wrestle Kailyn Clay, of Grand Prairie, in a semifinal match Friday night, and won by pin. Clay finished fourth in the regional tournament.

Beggs’ coach, Travis Clark, told The Dallas Morning News the forfeit was expected but declined further comment. Coppell’s coach and athletic director also declined to comment. Beggs’ grandmother and guardian, Nancy Beggs, says the outcome was about “bias, hatred and ignorance.”

A Coppell lawyer and wrestling parent filed a lawsuit earlier this month against the University Interscholastic League, the agency that governs Texas high school athletics, seeking to have Beggs suspended for steroid use. Beggs is taking testosterone and Jim Baudhuin’s lawsuit contends allowing Beggs to compete while using testosterone exposes other athletes to “imminent threat of bodily harm.”

Beggs identifies as male but must compete against girls because of two UIL rules, one requiring student-athletes to compete as the gender listed on their birth certificate, and the other prohibiting boys from wrestling girls.

Beggs’ grandmother said Beggs wants to compete against boys but will follow UIL rules.

The Texas Education Code and UIL rules prevent steroid use, but the code allows their use if “dispensed, prescribed, delivered and administered by a medical practitioner for a valid medical purpose.”

Nancy Beggs says the UIL has Mack Beggs’ medical records and has approved the student to compete.

Baudhuin has denied his lawsuit is a reaction to Beggs being a transgender male.

“I respect that completely, and I think the coaches do,” he said. “All we’re saying is she is taking something that gives her an unfair advantage.”
