The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. You have Jones's ties to the Jesuits, and Jones and the rest of the "alternative media" promoted Ron Paul since 2007. And Ron Paul has quietly yoked with the globalists his entire career - only to play "good cop" to give those that are fed up with the false paradigm system at the very end.

http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/06/rand-paul-on-gay-mmarriage-gop-needs-to-agree-to-disagree/
Rand Paul: On Gay Marriage GOP Needs to ‘Agree to Disagree’
6/26/13

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., told ABC News he believes the Supreme Court ruling on  the Defense of Marriage Act  was appropriate,  and that the issue should be left to the states. He praised Justice Anthony Kennedy for avoiding “a cultural war.”

“As a country we can agree to disagree,” Paul said today, stopping for a moment to talk as he walked through the Capitol. “As a Republican Party, that’s kind of where we are as well. The party is going to have to agree to disagree on some of these issues.”

The comments from Paul, a likely GOP presidential candidate in 2016, highlight how the party’s field could divide over  gay marriage. Many Republicans have been unusually muted in their reactions to the Supreme Court rulings today.

Paul said he agreed with Kennedy, whom he called “someone who doesn’t just want to be in front of opinion but wants government to keep up with opinion.” He said Kennedy “tried to strike a balance.”

Should we ask over on PPF?

Alex probably talked about it on one of his shows - I don't listen to his shows, so it may be hard to find on those hour long uploads on youtube.

JoHN F. McMaNuS, THe JeSuiTS & THe JoHN BiRCH SoCieTY

On Alex Jones’ Infowars website there is an article where he is saying that – as close to outright as possible – he’s a JBSer: John Birch Society member. Consider his deferential position to Jesuit-trained JBS President John F. McManus. Now consider pro-Vatican Ron Paul’s endorsement of his “many friends” that are members of the highly Catholic John Birch Society (an organisation with many high-level Masons & long links to Knights of Malta) & read the articles “the John Birch Society” & “the Belmont Brotherhood” & think about Paul’s Luciferian Masonic salutes – & no, he’s not greeting deaf people either (nor is the Pope), see: Satanists jailed over ritual killing.

Jones & his old friend Jesuit-trained Pat Buchanan of the American branch of the Pope’s religious-military order the Knights of Malta, are Ron Paul’s staunchest supporters. Jones refuses to seriously examine the extent of the covert global manipulation of the Papacy, the Jesuits & the Knights of Malta, while Paul sang the praises of the previous pontiff & Buchanan is the uber-Catholic.

Face facts folks: all U.S. Presidential candidates are elite frontmen & the most influential sectors of the “alternate media” are intelligence-gathering psy-op set-ups.

At graduation from Holy Cross College in Worcester, Massachusetts, he received a bachelor’s degree in physics and a commission in the United States Marine Corps. After serving three years of active duty, he entered the field of electronics engineering, where he won an award from the U.S. Air Force for designing a component used in fighter aircraft.

Jack left the engineering field in 1966 to accept a full-time position with our organization. Working closely with Founder Robert Welch for many years, he was named the Society’s Public Relations Director and its official spokesman. In 1991, he was appointed President.

College of the Holy Cross

ORIGINAL SOURCE OF SELECTED QUOTES:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/College_of_the_Holy_Cross

Not to be confused with Holy Cross College (Indiana) or other similarly named Holy Cross Colleges.

The College of the Holy Cross is an exclusively undergraduate Roman Catholic liberal arts college located inWorcester, Massachusetts, USA. Holy Cross is the oldest Roman Catholic college in New England and one of the oldest in the United States.
Opened as a school for boys under the auspices of the Society of Jesus, it was the first Jesuit college in New England. Today, Holy Cross is one of 28 member institutions of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities and is part of a consortium with other Worcester colleges, including Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Clark University. On July 1, 2000, Rev. Michael C. McFarland, S.J. became the current president of the college. As of June 2007, the Holy Cross endowment was valued at $660 million.

Beginnings

Holy Cross was founded by Benedict Joseph Fenwick, SJ, second Bishop of Boston, after his efforts to found a Catholic college in Boston were thwarted by the city’s Protestant civic leaders. From the beginning of his tenure as the second Bishop of Boston, Benedict Joseph Fenwick of the Society of Jesus aimed to establish a Catholic College within the boundaries of his diocese.

Benedict Joseph Fenwick, SJ, founder of Holy Cross

Relations with Boston’s civic leaders worsened such that, when a Jesuit faculty was finally secured in 1843, Fenwick decided to leave the Boston school and instead opened the College of the Holy Cross 45 miles (72 km) west of the city in central Massachusetts where he felt the Jesuits could operate with greater autonomy.

Petitions to secure a charter for the college from the state Legislature were denied in 1847 for a variety of causes, including anti-Catholicism on the part of some legislators. Initially, Holy Cross diplomas were signed by the president of Georgetown University. After repeated denials, a charter was finally granted on March 24, 1865, by Governor John A. Andrews

College Seal

College Seal of Holy Cross

The College of the Holy Cross describes its official seal as follows:

The outer circle of the seal states in Latin “College of the Holy Cross, Society of Jesus, Worcester, Massachusetts.”
The inner shield contains an open book (symbol of learning) and a cross of gold (symbol of Christian faith). The Latin motto In Hoc Signo Vinces, “In This Sign You Shall Conquer”, has been attributed to Emperor Constantine the Great, a Roman emperor noted for his tolerance of Christians. According to some historians, Constantine had a dream or vision of a flaming cross in the sky with this inscription on the day preceding his decisive victory over Maxentius at the Milvian Bridge (October 28, 312). This victory led to his capturing Rome and convinced him of the importance of Christianity [trOY'S NOTE: A COMPLETE MYTH, CONSTANTINE WAS THE LUCIFERIAN SOL INVICTUS WORSHIPPER WHO HIJACKED CHRISTIANITY AS A FRONT FOR A TOTALITARIAN FORM OF PAGANISM THAT IS COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS "CATHOLICISM"].

The cross divides the lower part of the shield into quarters, which are alternately red and sable, the colors on the ancient shield of Worcester, England. The upper part of the shield has in its center the emblem of the Society of Jesus, a blazing sun with the letters IHS, the first three letters of Jesus’ name in Greek. On either side is a martlet, reminiscent of those on the ancestral crest of Bishop Fenwick.

Notable alumni

Is it just me, or is anyone else here enjoying watching this part of this little sideshow? Obama, Republicans, Democrats, Tea Partiers, truth movement, alternative media, FOX, MSBNC, etc - pretty much not only is each group going against each other, but now we have each group going against the same people in each group!(ie-GOP against Tea Party aka Chris Christie going against Rand Paul and Karl Rove going against conservatives, Alex Jones and the truth movement going against various of these groups, members of the GOP establishment going after their own party members so that they can quietly defend Obama, etc, etc).

And here's one potential globalist Jones and the "truth" movement is looking up to...

Sen Mike Lee(GOP-Utah)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Lee_(U.S._politician)

Michael Shumway "Mike" Lee (born June 4, 1971) is a lawyer and the junior United States Senator from Utah. Lee is a member of the Republican Party.

Lee has been a constitutional lawyer in Utah and Washington, D.C, in addition to serving as a clerk for then-Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr. His father, Rex E. Lee, was the founding dean of Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School, and Solicitor General of the United States during the Reagan administration.

------------------------------------------------------------------

After graduating from Timpview High School (Provo, Utah) in 1989, Lee attended Brigham Young University as an undergraduate student, receiving a B.S. in Political Science in 1994. He served as the President of BYUSA, a prominent student service organization,[citation needed] and as Student Body President, during the 1993–1994 school year.[3] He graduated from BYU's J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1997.[3]

Hey guys, I was browsing for a side project I'm working on when I came across this video from Alex Jones:

Granted, I don't trust Alex Jones farther than I can throw him, but in all the years I've known of Alex Jones (got into NWO stuff around 2007, got saved in 2009), I have NEVER heard Alex Jones talk like this before. Jesus Christ the Creator of the universe, rejecting the Holy Spirit is the unpardonable sin, Jesus taking the sins of the world on Himself, etc. He even quotes the Bible! (wrong version, but that's a milestone for him)

Now I know Alex Jones is a pretty good actor, but: Do you think there's any possibility that there's a shred of faith in him?

Not me. This kind of stuff I avoid because it makes me sick to my stomach how the "two party" system is being used to "good cop/bad cop" the public.

Talking about the back and forth is about as useless as teets on a boar hog! It's all a smoke screen that ties up people's attention on stuff that means absolutely nothing. It's an intentionally created political soap opera.

So, I guess if you like fiction soap operas, then it might be entertaining.

Jesus says that we know them by their fruits. I understand scripture to say that we are not to question a person's salvation, as in whether or not a specific person will be ultimately saved or not. WE don't know that and we are not the judge of that in the end, but we sure can judge the spirits, and have discernment of what is not of God, by the very Holy Ghost in us.

That said...

"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." James 2:19 (KJB)

"Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." 2 Corinthians 11:15 (KJB)

I've been listening and reading Alex Jone's stuff for years now, though I haven't followed his tv/video stuff like that radio show thing in a long time, and more recently after years on Prison Planet Forum, not really at all since being banned from PPF.

Myself and a couple others here have some years there at PPF, especially in the "Christian section" of their forums. Let's just say for credibility's sake of talking about Alex, if Alex Jones does not know of me and Mark personally, I'd be shocked frankly. If I may boast a little, we were not exactly timid in our preaching the gospel. So my point is that I really don't see how Alex has not been aware of what has been talked about in these terms, and he knows the basic's and has demonstrated so.

Keep in mind, it's difficult to get the unbelieving to say the name of Jesus. They will say "Christ" all day long, so they appear as "part of the crowd", but in reality many are not saved, but rather have taken a side in a public way, like joining the local lodge, it's for societal reasons, not faith reasons. It looks good on the resume' kind of thing.

Alex definitely has made known what he believes to be his faith, but has a history of being really childish in knowledge and understanding about sound doctrine, for years. Has has shown to me little growth if any.

Rather, he has shown himself at times to be degrading in his tactics in "fighting tyranny". His stances have changed at times, even so slightly, but towards favor for less than patriotic stances that seem to contradict his overall sales pitch of a "freedom fighter". He has born fruit of subtly and provocation, from the standpoint of a Christian. The fruits so far of Alex Jones are not edible in my opinion as a Christian.

Its very hard to believe anything he says as i fully believe he is a paid shill. If you want proof of this, all you need to watch is his "interview" if thats what you would call it on the View about Charlie Sheen.

It was only 2-3 years ago when the entire PPF was rocking with posts - the typical thread in 2010/2011 would get a number of posts and even pages. Now fast forward to since last year - activity is only moderate(at best), but for the most part LOW.

Pt being that it's as if Alex and the other "truth" movement leaders and media people like Jeff Rense, Texe Marrs, Mike Rivero, etc have deceived their followers with a false hope that we "can fight against the New World Order/tyranny and take back our nation by waking people up"...only over the long haul these same followers have realized they're fighting a phantom enemy, and just get worn out(which is why I think many on PPF have just left and quit - and also have noticed other "truther" forums have low activity now as well).

It's a lot like these church buildings over the years - the pastors, denomination leaders, deacons, etc have given their pews a false hope of "peace and prosperity", and when in particular the youth growing up realize this isn't coming to fruition, they end up falling away(in particular the youth that grow up and go to college, and have no Christian faith to lean on)...which is probably why we're seeing a rise in these megachurches and "social justice" churches with pagan spirituality.

As for Alex and him professing Christ - yes, I understand we can't question and judge people's salvation, but nonetheless beware of a lot of these celebrities that do the same...a lot of these are MK Ultra Mind Controlled(ie-I believe Kirk Cameron is one of these victims).

Here's another example - how many times has Alex came out with these "False Flag Alert!" messages during Obama's time in the White House? Pretty much he's playing his part in the Hegelian Dialectic - if let's say nothing happens(meaning no false flag), then Alex is going to come out and say "We're exposing and winning against the New World Order!", with the "truth" movement subsequently following him.

If anything, this is how the Illuminati minions wear everyone out and put their followers in bondage - through a lengthy war of words(which Alex is also very good at).

http://beforeitsnews.com/obama/2013/08/false-flag-alert-obama-is-cornered-2455118.html
False Flag Alert! Obama Is Cornered!

When criminals or any wild animals are backed into a corner, that is often when they are at their most dangerous. With all of the lies told by Barack Obama and the New World Order now exposed, Alex Jones issues a ‘red alert’ false flag alert in the video below.

As the globalist staged poison gas attack info explodes world wide and as humanity awakens, we must be on the look out for the empire to strike back. They can not let the public fully come to the realization of staged terror. Because then the corrupt ruling class can no longer grab more power by killing people and framing their enemy’s. We are approaching the event horizon!!! Red alert! We can cause a paradigm shift or let the globalist counter strikes crush us. Fight back (legally, of course), or be dehumanized.

So the only time the MSM will report how the Syrian rebels did it is when ALEX JONES appears on their networks? But en yet they will STILL find a way to QUESTION it?

Yes, they let Jones say the rebels did it - but look at the crafty words being exchanged between Jones and that FOX interviewer(and Jones' smirk to boot). The interview says something like, "But isn't this a conspiracy theory?", and Jones just sits back and laughs, it seems. Roll Eyes

It was only 2 years ago when Alex put this guy on a platform(inviting him onto his radio show), b/c (supposedly)he supported Ron Paul's Audit the Fed bill.

I know both political "parties" are controlled-opposition, but nonetheless Grayson won in a HEAVILY FL GOP district(where Dems rarely get elected). If this isn't a blatant sign elections are rigged, then I don't know what is.

http://www.thenewamerican.com/usnews/politics/item/16565-rep-grayson-hails-stealth-socialism-in-america
Thursday, 19 September 2013 09:29
Rep. Grayson Hails "Stealth Socialism" in America

Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) has been hailed as a "progressive hero" by Democracy for America, the political action committee founded by former Vermont Governor Howard Dean. Yet he has something in common with some of the Tea Party heroes on the Republican Right. Grayson (shown) and his conservative colleagues agree socialism is on the rise in America. The difference is Grayson welcomes it.

"Stealth socialism's been created," Grayson, a second-term congressman from Florida's Ninth District, said in an interview with salon.com on a range of political and economic issues. "We've had a government takeover of the bond market," he said in describing what has happened since the financial industry crisis of 2008. He continued,

Government simply ends up owning more and more and more. If government had taken over the steel industry, maybe it would have been more noticeable. They've taken over the financing of housing industry as well, with a desired result. The result is now, finally, particularly in areas that were hard-hit, like mine in Central Florida, housing is ticking up again. So the Fed did in essence create an economic baseline that has led to something along the lines of 50,000-100,000 jobs created a month, setting a foundation for recovery for the U.S. economy.

Grayson is far from alone in noting the socialist trends in federal economic policy. In February 2009, less than a month after the inauguration of Barack Obama, Newsweek magazine published a cover story with the title "We Are All Socialists Now." The article was about the new president's bailout and economic recovery plans, but noted "the U.S. government has already — under a conservative Republican administration — effectively nationalized the banking and mortgage industries." Even the late Marxist President Hugo Chavez of Venezuela hailed the federal takeover of a number of U.S. financial institutions, taunting President George W. Bush with the jibe that Bush had become a bigger socialist than Chavez himself.

Grayson claimed, "The Federal Reserve's unconventional monetary policy put us back on a low-level track toward growth. They showed that monetary policy in extremis can work to some degree."

Neither the Fed's "quantitative easing" manipulations of the money supply nor Obama's "economic stimulus" programs have created much of a success story in job creation, however. The anemic economic recovery that began officially in June 2009 was puttering along at an annual rate of about 1.7 percent during the second quarter of this year. The modest drop in the unemployment rate this August, from 7.4 to 7.3 percent was due largely to the fact that 312,000 dropped out of the labor force and had given up looking for work. The 63.2 percent of Americans participating in the labor force — meaning they either have or are looking for a job —  is the lowest percentage since August 1978, according to Department of Labor statistics. Among the few who were finding work, more were finding part-time than were landing full-time jobs.

Grayson is promoting essentially more of the same, recommending that the government spend more on "things like senior services, pre-kindergarten, cleaning up national parks, things we need to be done that would benefit society, and put people on the payroll and pay them $10 an hour." He even boasts of his success in getting a substantial increase in funding for a bilingual housing counseling program administered by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. It resulted from his unique approach to bipartisanship, he explained to Salon reporter David Dayen, an approach free of what he describes as a common misperception among Washington politicians.

"It's to think that Republicans are going to vote for Democratic objectives, and vice-versa, because they like each other," he said. "This leads to things like the president golfing with John Boehner. It's this idea that if we play patty-cake, that will make everything better, and it's not the case. Liberals vote and conservatives vote for the most part on underlying principles." So how does Grayson work on those "underlying principles"? He offered his success with funding for the HUD program as an example.

I got a 50 percent increase for bilingual HUD housing counseling.... This matters a lot in my district, where 20 percent don't speak English, and another 20 percent are bilingual. And they need housing counseling; it's an area where housing values dropped 50 percent. So how did I get that? I said to Republicans explicitly ... "You claim you want to improve your image among Hispanics; put up or shut up. If you vote for this, it's not much money, and you show you have a minimal concern for Hispanics; and if you vote against it, you don't." And they rolled their eyes; they said Grayson doesn't understand; this would rob Peter to pay Paul. But when push came to shove, they accepted the amendment; they wouldn't allow a roll call vote on it. They didn't want to have their people vote against Spanish-language housing counseling. They didn't do it because I made pals with them. I scared the crap out of them!

That's one example of how well those underlying principles work. Economist and syndicated columnist Thomas Sowell has offered another. Sowell has been writing for years that increases in the minimum wage result in pricing many low-skilled workers, and especially young workers with little experience, out of the job market.

"What is surprising," he wrote in a recent column, "is that, despite an accumulation of evidence over the years of the devastating effects of minimum wage laws on black teenage unemployment rates, members of the Congressional Black Caucus continue to vote for such laws." He recalled once asking a member of that caucus why that is:

The answer I got was that members of the Black Caucus were part of a political coalition and, as such, they were expected to vote for things that other members of that coalition wanted, such as minimum wage laws, in order that other members of the coalition would vote for things that the Black Caucus wanted.

When I asked what could the black members of Congress possibly get in return for supporting minimum wage laws that would be worth sacrificing whole generations of young blacks to huge rates of unemployment, the discussion quickly ended. I may have been vehement when I asked that question.

Alas, poor Sowell. He just doesn't understand Washington's "underlying principles" the way Congressman Grayson does.

Even when I used to listen to this "pastor" Lindsey Williams regularly, something just didn't feel right about him. Apparently, Cooper crossed paths with him years ago.

Posting this here b/c Jesse Ventura, as you all know, is not only one of Alex's regulars, but he's also one of the heroes of the "truth" movement.

It's not just Obama and the liberals that are pushing socialized medicine - even so-called "conservatives"(ie-Newt Gingrich) AND these "truth" movement types like Ventura have been doing so as well.

The reason why I'm posting this article is b/c the source is Newsmax - like with WND, CNS News, Lifesite, etc, this is also a "conservative"/anti-"liberal media" news source(or supposedly it is). However, despite Ventura's pro-socialized medicine stance, he and these other "truth" movement types still get promoted by these "alternative conservative" news sites.

Ultimately - this has been a very subtle way for these "alternative" media sources like Newsmax, WND, Infowars, etc to point you to embrace socialist agendas - by pointing you to these very people who appear to have "conservative"/"pro-patriot" stances, but en yet they themselves support FAR left stances like socialized medicine or eugenics.

AJ's SUPER FRIEND Joe Rogan's SUPER rant against people who oppose sodomite marriage

‘Weak A** Bi***es’: Former ‘Fear Factor’ Host Goes Off on Gay Marriage Opponents

Comedian and former “Fear Factor” host Joe Rogan apparently isn’t too fond of gay marriage adversaries. He recently decried opposition to same-sex unions and called state bans on gay matrimony “so stupid it’s hard to believe.”

Discussing the issue on “The Joe Rogan Experience” podcast Tuesday, Rogan expressed bewilderment over how people could still oppose same-sex marriage “in this day and age.”

After discussing the fact that gay marriage is legal in 15 states (Illinois became the 16th the day after the podcast was posted), Rogan couldn’t contain his surprise that there are more states — now 34 — that forbid gay unions than allow them.

“There’s states where it’s banned. It’s like they have banned same-sex marriages. Thirty-four of them … it’s so stupid it’s hard to believe,” Rogan said. “It’s so stupid that people in this day and age decide what two people can’t do because of their sex.”

And he wasn’t done there.

“If marriage is legal, why shouldn’t it be legal for gay people?” Rogan asked. “It’s so dumb and it’s such a weird thing to get behind. It’s like, ‘what’s your end game here? I don’t understand how … anybody would be getting behind this.”

Rogan said that “outside of some crazy religious belief” he can’t understand why people care — and he shared a personal story about just how silly he believes those who oppose gay marriage truly are.

When he was 11, Rogan said he observed a friend’s father become irate over gay marriage and was at the time confused about why someone would care so much.

“I remember thinking as an 11-year-old boy, like, ‘Wow, there’s a lot of weak a** bi***es out there posing as men,’” he said. “Like, you dummy, what do you care? What are you, a tough guy ’cause two guys want to kiss each other?”

Even PPF has all but turned a blind eye to the sodomy issue - not completely, but for the most part.

Pretty much, Jones/PPF is part of the ecumenical movement every which way you see it.

I've been trying for several months to retrieve another password for my PPF account(America2) for several months now, but not once have I gotten a response during this time.

Am I doing something wrong? Is their system on this part down? I'm surprised I haven't gotten any responses in several months(since last Spring, that is).

IOW, it never did what this message says it would...

need to find AJ's comments about the man of steel, that Scott was talking about.

Would this be it?

But then he proceeds to contradict himself here:

This is an INFOWARS article right on the front page of the site.

Why Jesus Was REALLY Killed: Challenging the Money Changers

Why Jesus Was Killed

Preface: If you are an atheist and believe that religion is crazy, please remember that some 85% of the American population identifies itself as Christian and millions more identify themselves as Jewish. Very few Americans are atheists … and the majority don’t trust atheists. Therefore, knowing a few bible verses might be helpful for atheists speaking to people of faith.

Reverend Howard Bess notes:

Jesus did not go to the temple to cleanse. He came to the temple to announce the destruction of a whole way of life. Those who operated the temple had no power to silence Jesus and put him to death. Those powers were held by the Roman retainers.

The charges that were leveled against him can be summed up as insurrection. There were three specific charges: encouraging non-payment of taxes, threatening to destroy property (the temple), and claiming to be a king. It was the temple incident that took Jesus from being an irritating, but harmless country rebel from the rural north to a nuisance in a city that controlled the great tradition. Rome’s retainers killed him on a cross.

In other words, Jesus wasn’t sentenced to death until he challenged the money changers.

What Does it Mean to Do God’s Work?

The head of Goldman Sachs said he’s doing “God’s work” with his banking activities.

The head of Barclays also told his congregation that banking as practiced by his company was not antithetical to Christian principles.

Are they right? Is big banking as practiced by the giant banks in harmony with Christian principles?

Do Justice

Initially, the Bible does not counsel us to ignore the breaking of laws by the the powerful.

In fact, the Bible mentions justice over 200 times — more than just about any other topic. The Bible asks us to do justice and to stand up to ANYONE — including the rich or powerful — who do injustice or oppress the people.

Indeed, one of the first things God asks of us is to do justice:

He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8)

While many churches and synagogues have become obsessed with other issues, many have arguably ignored this most important of God’s demands of us. As pointed out by a leading Christian ministry, which rescues underage girls trapped as sex slaves in third world countries:

In Scripture there is a constant call to seek justice. Jesus got upset at the Pharisees because they neglected the weightier matters of the law, which He defined as justice and the love of God . . . Isaiah 58 complains about the fact that while the people of God are praying and praying and praying, they are not doing anything about the injustice.

Should Christians just pray for justice and leave the rest to God?

That’s not what the Bible asks us to do. Instead, Hebrews 11:33 tells us that we are God’s hands for dispensing justice, and God uses us to “administer justice.”

We have to “walk our talk” and put our prayers into action.

God demands that we do everything in our power to act as “God’s hands” in bringing justice. And as Saint Augustine reminds us, “Charity is no substitute for justice withheld.”

Indeed:

The Lord looked and was displeased that there was no justice. He saw that there was no one, He was appalled that there was no one to intervene. (Isaiah 59:15-16)

This is the only place in the Bible where the word “appalled” is used for the way God feels — in other words, the only thing which we know God is appalled by is if people are not doing justice.

There are hundreds of other references to justice in the Bible, including:

    Blessed are they who maintain justice . . . . (Psalm 106:3)

This is what the LORD says: Maintain justice and do what is right . . . . (Isiah 56:1)

This is what the LORD says: Do what is just and right. (Jeremiah 22:3,13-17)

Follow justice and justice alone. (Deuteronomy 16:19, 20)

For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice . . . . (Job 11:5,7)

    Learn to do right! Seek justice . . . . (Isaiah 1:17)

So if the powerful players in the giant banks broke the laws, they must be held to account.

Fraud and Manipulation of Money

The big banks have engaged in systemic, continuous ongoing criminal fraud.

Allowing the banks to commit crime with impunity is not what Jesus would do. What would Jesus do? Turn over the tables of the money-changers. (economists agree.)

Moreover, the giant banks manipulate currency through the use of schemes such as manipulating interest rates (gaming interest rates in different regions – Libor, Eurobor, etc. – can in turn drive their currencies up or down), high frequency trading and artificially suppressing gold prices (which artificially inflates the value of fiat money) .

As Ron Paul notes, the Bible forbids altering the quality of money (which, at the time and place, was entirely in the form of coins):

Even the Bible is clear that altering the quality of money is an immoral act. We are instructed to follow the rules of “just weights and measures.” “You shall do no injustice in judgment, in measurement of length, weight, or volume. You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin” (Leviticus 19:35-36). “Diverse weights are an abomination to the LORD, and a false balance is not good” (Proverbs 20:23). The general principle can be summed as “You shall not steal.”

Proverbs 11:1 also provides:

Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but a just weight is His delight.

So to the extent that the giant banks have engaged in any dishonest acts or the manipulation of currencies, they are violating scripture.

Oppression of the Poor

The Bible condemns oppression of the poor for the benefit of the affluent:

He that oppresses the poor to increase his riches, and he that gives to the rich, shall surely come to want. (Proverbs 22:16)

To the extent that the giant banks have oppressed the poor to increase their riches, they are violating scripture.

Due to their looting, inequality is now worse in American than in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, most Latin American banana republics … and ancient Rome.

Waging War

Bankers are often the driving force behind war. “Blessed are the peacemakers” (Matthew 5:9), and Jesus would not have taken kindly to waging wars for profit based upon false pretenses.

Resurrection: Christ’s Ministry

Christ – and his ministry – lives to the extent that we act as God’s hands to confront the big banks which are warping our economy and our world.

Postscript: Not all bankers are bad people. For example, many bankers at smaller banks and credit unions are good people who are trying to help their communities. Each must be judged by his own acts.
