It states: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

CAIR censors another talk-radio host
Ex-congressman pushed off air for anti-Islamist warnings

Former U.S. Rep. Fred Grandy has been forced to walk away from his popular morning drive-time radio talk show in Washington after the station's management insisted he avoid discussions of radical Islam, sources close to Grandy say.

The station, WMAL, also reportedly banned Grandy's wife from future broadcasts. The outspoken "Mrs. Fred" was a regular guest on his show.

Grandy, who before entering politics played "Gopher" on the hit TV show "The Love Boat," refused WMAL management's terms and left his broadcasting job with the station Tuesday. WMAL confirmed his resignation in a brief statement on its website.

In recent months, Grandy invited Muslim activists on his morning show, "The Grandy Group," to debate the threat from the radical Muslim Brotherhood. He also hosted several U.S. security officials – including former CIA, FBI and Pentagon officials – who all warned the Brotherhood was infiltrating Washington through its U.S. front groups.

James Lafferty, chairman of the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force, or VAST, a group that opposes the spread of radical Islam in America, blasted WMAL's management for "caving to the Council for American Islamic Relations (CAIR) once again."

Was show host booted -- or did he decide to leave?

A group which opposes the spread of radical Islam says WMAL in Washington, DC, has caved to the demands of an Islamic supremacist organization, making it the first "sharia-compliant" radio station in America.

Former Congressman Fred Grandy (R-Iowa) told Accuracy in Media that he was recently forced to walk away from his popular morning drive-time talk show after WMAL's management insisted that he avoid discussions about radical Islam. The station management also banned Grandy's wife Catherine (known on the air as the outspoken "Mrs. Fred") from appearing on any future broadcasts.

The station denies those charges, saying Grandy resigned of his own accord and adding that it was not contacted by any organization seeking to restrict Grandy's broadcasts.

But James Lafferty, chairman of the Virginia Anti-Sharia Task Force, claims he heard from "two very good sources" that the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) played a part in Grandy's leaving. He contends the station caved to browbeating from that pro-Muslim group.

"It is America's first Sharia-compliant station -- and [the station's decision is] not being driven by advertising or anything else," he says. "It's CAIR pressuring the management of the station, who in turn turned around and tried to pressure Fred Grandy."

According to Lafferty, Grandy is a "man of character" who chose not to yield to that sort of pressure. "And this, in fact, proves the point that he's been making on the show about the ominous efforts of CAIR and groups like CAIR to change America," he adds.

Lafferty reports his group has launched "Call out WMAL Days" to encourage people to tell management they will not listen to WMAL until Grandy and his wife return. They plan a protest outside the station's studios on March 9.

Crowd challenges station's 'Shariah compliance'

Protesters from the Virginia Anti-Shariah Task Force and other organizations today marched the sidewalks in front of WMAL Radio in Washington and charged that the station is becoming "Shariah compliant" for censoring talk radio host Fred Grandy and his wife, Catherine Mann-Grandy.

James Lafferty, of the VAST organization, told WND that the dispute between the station and Grandy, whose program had criticized Islamic organizations and the advance of Islam's influence in the United States, was in alignment with plans by the Council on American Islamic Relations to silence media they consider hostile.

As WND reported, Lafferty said, "In one cowardly move, WMAL has made history – it has become the first Shariah-compliant radio station in America."

The characterization of the situation by WMAL General Manager Jeff Boden, however, was different.

In a statement on March 5, he said the station did not do anything wrong.

"WMAL did not terminate Fred Grandy's employment, and never had any intention to do so. Fred informed us on March 2 of his intention to resign from the station. To be clear, at no time has WMAL told Fred that he was not allowed to discuss his views on Islam over the air. In fact, he has done so on numerous occasions. Further, WMAL has not been contacted by any organization seeking to restrict his broadcasts."

Protesters were of another mind, chanting several messages including, "No Shariah. Constitution!" and "Bring Fred Back! And Mrs. Fred!"

Lafferty told protesters "the fight isn't over until we stop fighting," and suggested, "We need to continue to point the light of public scrutiny on activities like this assault on free speech. We need to shed light on the involvement of groups like CAIR … the public needs to stand up and call this what it is and recognize the threat of Shariah to the United States."
