Israeli Boy Singlehandedly Stages Protest over Temple Mount Access [VIDEO]

“Three tiems a year all your males should appear before God, your God, in the place He will choose…and he shall not appear before God empty handed.” (Deuteronomy 17:17)

An Israeli teenager, frustrated by discrimination against Jews at the entrance to their holiest site, staged a one-man protest outside the Temple Mount Monday. The peaceful yet powerful incident was filmed by Shlomo Walfish, who regularly ascends the Temple Mount three times a year to commemorate the Biblical festivals.

Walfish told Breaking Israel News, “I try to pray on the Temple Mount each holiday as it says in the Bible and this time all the religious Jews had to wait almost two hours to ascend while loads of non-Jews were allowed to go in front of us. Finally, one teenager said, ‘enough is enough.’ He blocked the entrance with a bench and said, ‘If we can’t go, nobody can go.'”

Walfish captured the ensuing altercation on his phone, which shows the dramatic showdown between the Israeli police and the passionate teenager.

Billions of Dollars of Gold Discovered Under Eilat Mountains to be Used to Rebuild Third Jewish Temple

A treasure-trove of raw gold worth billions of dollars is believed to be sitting under Mount Eilat in southern Israel, Breaking Israel News has learned.

In an exclusive interview, Rabbi Yehuda Glick, the Executive Director of The Temple Mount Heritage Foundation in Jerusalem, revealed the news, which had been kept under wraps for the last several years.

Glick is perhaps best known for his life’s mission of assuring that the Temple Mount is accessible to all people from every religion who want to worship at the holy site. His dedication to the Temple Mount resulted in an October 2014 assassination attempt on his life by a Palestinian terrorist.

Shot four times in the chest, Glick has made a miraculous recovery and continues his work to open the Temple Mount to prayer for all peoples.

Glick told Breaking Israel News that there are billions of dollars worth of gold in Mount Eilat, which he and his partner, Yehoshua Friedman, have received an exclusive license to unearth by the Israeli government.

Explaining the discovery, Glick said that everything began with Friedman, a Temple Mount researcher who had been studying each of the 12 unique stones set on the breastplate of the High Priest as described in the Bible. Each stone represents one of the 12 tribes of Israel.

During his studies, Friedman realized that without a geology background he could not properly appreciate the depths and meanings behind each of these stones. This led to his discovery that in 2007 gold had been found in the mountains of Eilat by an Australian research team, who later abandoned the dig because the value of gold at the time was not worth their efforts.

Friedman and Glick, knowing the Biblical verses concerning gold in the Land of Israel, realized that this was a project which had to be pursued.

Together, alongside several other companies seeking to find gold in the land of Israel, Glick and Friedman presented to the Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure a tender to dig in the Eilat mountains.

“Because of the extensive Biblical proof we presented about the exact location where the gold was to be found, we won the license to begin digging,” Glick told Breaking Israel News.

Their company, Gold Deposit Ltd., now has a two-year exclusive permit, from January 2015 to December 2016, to excavate the chosen area and find the gold.

When asked what these modern day Biblical explorers plan to do with their billions in gold, Rabbi Glick replied, “Ultimately, we expect to use the gold in the rebuilding of the Third Temple.  Whether we use the gold itself for creating vessels and decoration or by selling the findings and using the money to buy the materials and manpower needed to rebuild the Temple, we look forward to that great day!”

Op-Ed: The Vatican Wants the Temple Mount Taken From the Jews
6/30/15

In 2000, speaking in a mosque in Palestinian-held Ramallah, Yasser Arafat declared, “No one will succeed in removing us from our land, including Jerusalem, and the Palestinian flag will fly from the Temple Mount and from the churches in Jerusalem.”

Arafat could say that because he had won the Vatican's support for his terroristic strategy. On June 26th, 2015, the Vatican signed its first treaty with the “State of Palestine”. It is the logical conclusion of a long path.

When the pontiff John Paul II ascended to the Temple Mount in 2000, Judaism’s most holy site, he wasn’t welcomed by Israeli officials, but by representatives of the Palestinian Authority, and the holy complex was bedecked in Arab flags. It was the Pope's implicit recognition of Islamic hegemony. It was taken to mean that Islam and Christianity superseded Judaism and have the right to “inherit” its holy places.

Since then, the Holy See’s taking a stance as the ally of the heads of the Palestinian Authority in the place most holy to the Jewish people, became almost a fait accompli.

The Catholic de-legitimization of Israel passes through the war on Jerusalem and the war on Jerusalem passes through the Temple Mount. The site where the Jewish people worshipped for hundreds of years and the focal point of every practicing Jew’s prayers is under assault from the Vatican.

The Vatican-PLO agreements have been signed to enable the eviction of the Jews from Jerusalem. This follows a memorandum signed by Palestinian and Vatican officials in 2000 which repeated the Vatican call for an international mandate to preserve “the proper identity and sacred character” of Jerusalem. It means a return to a time when half of Israel’s capital was under Islamic control, the Old City was closed to Jews, the synagogues were desecrated, and walls, barbed wire, and snipers divided the city by force.

The Vatican is consistent. In 1964, when Pope Paul VI made the first papal visit to Jerusalem, Jews and Christians with Israeli passports were barred from entering the Old City. And no Vatican official complained about that.

What will the Jews do apart from pleasing tyrants and their collaborators? Here's what they should do: Start taking control of the Temple Mount. It will be harder to chase them away if they do that.

Temple Institute Raising a Genuine Red Heifer

Temple Institute partnering with expert Israeli rancher to raise herd of red heifers, for future use in Third Temple.

7/12/15

In partnership with an experienced Israeli cattle rancher, The Temple Institute has decided to raise a Red Heifer, in accordance with the Biblical commandment.

The Red Heifer was a cow brought to Temple priests as sacrifice, and its ashes were used for ritual purification of those who had come into contact with a corpse.

A prerequisite of the Third Temple, in order for a Red Heifer to be considered kosher for use, it must be raised from birth in Israel under specific conditions and in a controlled environment.

To raise awareness and funds for the first ever project of its kind, The Temple Institute has launched a crowd funding campaign entitled "Raise a Red Heifer in Israel" on Indiegogo.

During antiquity, Israelites waited for the birth of a potential Red Heifer, but with a combination of Torah knowledge and advanced science, The Temple Institute believes a Red Heifer can be bred in our modern times.

Under the guidance of Temple Institute rabbis, frozen embryos of Red Angus cattle will be implanted into domestic cattle in Israel, leading to the introduction of this breed into the Jewish state.

This method, authorized by Israel's Agriculture Ministry, has already proved successful with the birth of a number of male Red Angus.

“Three decades of research and preparation have led us to this special day," the Institute said in a statement. "During this period known as the 'Three Weeks,' as world Jewry mourns the destruction of the Second Holy Temple, The Temple Institute has taken a bold move towards the third."

"Having already prepared over 70 sacred vessels including the golden menorah and High Priest’s gemstone-encrusted breastplate, now is the time to fulfill the commandment of the Red Heifer. Make no mistake, this project is no less than the first stage of the reintroduction of Biblical purity into the world, a prerequisite for the building of the Third Temple.”

Activists Call to Rebuild Third Temple on Tisha B'Av
Temple Faithful Movement plans march to demand government 'remove enemies from Temple Mount and rebuild third Temple.'

On Tisha B'Av this Sunday, a fast day mourning the destruction of the First and Second Temple, Jewish activists plan to protest against the discrimination against Jews on the Temple Mount and the impunity given to Arab terror-supporters on the holy site, in a call to build the Third Temple.

The Temple Mount and Land of Israel Faithful Movement (also known as the Temple Faithful Movement) plans to march to the Temple Mount at 11 a.m. on Sunday, the Movement's head Gershon Salomon told Arutz Sheva on Thursday.

Salomon said the march is meant to mourn the "destruction of the Holy Third Temple by Israel's enemies" - in other words the prevention of the construction of the Third Temple, which is said to prelude the final redemption, due to the presence of hostile Muslim sources on the holy site.

Likewise the protest is meant to mourn how Hamas and Islamic State (ISIS) are allowed to go around "carrying their flags" on the Mount, the holiest site in Judaism.

During the event, Salomon intends to call on the Israeli government "to remove the enemies from the Holy Temple Mount, to return the Holy Temple Mount to Israel and to immediately rebuild the Holy Third Temple."

The Jordanian Waqf retains de facto control of the Mount even since its liberation in the 1967 Six Day War, and it has forbidden Jews from praying at the site despite Israeli law ensuring freedom of worship.

Arabs at the Temple Mount have repeatedly desecrated the holy site by among other things playing soccer games; in one warped case last December, police arrested a Jew who requested a soccer game be stopped at the site - despite the fact that in September 2013 promises were made to enforce the law passed by the High Court years ago banning the soccer games on the holy site.

Likewise Arabs have tried to erase the Jewish nature of the site, where the First and Second Temples stood, by destroying ancient Jewish artifacts and building illegally.

Christian Child Fulfills Prophecy of Isaiah 56:7 on Temple Mount and You’ll Never Guess How [VIDEO]
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz September 2, 2015 , 11:30 am

The conflict over the Temple Mount has grown more intense in recent weeks. Despite court rulings in the spirit that the holy site is “a house of prayer for all the peoples” (Isaiah 56:7), Jews are continuously harassed and prevented from praying at the site.

Recently, efforts by Rabbi Yehudah Glick, world-renowned Temple Mount advocate and founder of the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, have produced miraculous results for non-Muslims wishing to ascend the holy site. For the first time in years, Jews and Christians are allowed to visit the Temple Mount without being harassed.

A touchingly poignant video shared with Breaking Israel News by Glick shows the fulfillment of the words of Isaiah coming true. A young boy is seen saying the prayer of Shema Yisrael with total devotion, his hand covering his eyes precisely as Jewish law requires. What is remarkable about this video is that the young boy is not Jewish.

Isaiah 56:7 states:

“Even those I will bring to My holy mountain And make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar; For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.”

This verse is not speaking about the Jewish Temple in theoretical terms. When King Solomon dedicated the First Jewish Temple, it was meant to be a place for all nations to serve God (I Kings 8:41-3). The central rabbinical text known as the Talmud (Hullin 13b) explains, “Sacrifices are to be accepted from Gentiles as they are from Jews.”

While the Jewish Temples stood, non-Jews did regularly bring sacrifices. Though just as Jews not of the priestly class were not permitted into the inner courtyard of the Temple, non-Jews were not allowed past a low fence, called a Soreg, that surrounded the Temple.

Just as the Israelites needed the priests to act as messengers to bring their sacrifices to the altar, the Jews served as messengers for the non-Jews, bringing their sacrifices in to the Temple, thereby fulfilling the commandment of “Be for me a nation of priests and a holy nation” (Exodus 19:6).

Solomon’s Temple was a universal house of prayer and modern Israeli law reflects this idea. Israel is the epicenter of many religions and religious intolerance has no place in a democratic nation. Under the Ottoman Empire, non-Muslims were not permitted to pray on the Temple Mount and the Waqf continues this policy, despite its illegality. For Israel to move forward into the new era, freedom of prayer must be the norm, as in America, and the most important place to begin is the Temple Mount.

Jordan king warns Israel over Jerusalem holy site violence

A second consecutive day of violence at Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site prompted a rare warning Monday from the king of Jordan, the custodian of the ancient sites, while an Israeli man died and several people were injured after attacks by rock-throwing Palestinians.

The holy site is a frequent flashpoint and its fate is a core issue at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Jordan, which has a peace treaty with Israel, administers Muslim religious affairs at the site, sacred to both Jews and Muslims. The compound is known to Jews as the Temple Mount, site of the two biblical Jewish temples. Muslims revere it as the Noble Sanctuary, where they believe the Prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven.

Earlier Monday, Israeli police and Palestinian stone-throwers clashed for the second day at the site. Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said protesters threw rocks at officers who entered the area to ensure security. She said several masked Palestinians suspected of stone throwing were arrested. Police also arrested protesters who attacked a Jewish man, she said.

The director of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Omar Kiswani, said dozens of people had stayed at the mosque overnight. He said police "stormed" the area on Monday morning, firing tear gas and stun grenades and making several arrests.

The 64-year-old Israeli, Alexander Levlovitz, died and two passengers were hurt after attackers pelted their car with rocks in Jerusalem. Samri said the man was injured as he was driving home from a meal marking the Jewish new year and later died of his injuries. She said the identity of the attackers was unknown but that they were likely from a nearby Arab neighborhood.

A young Israeli woman, Bosmat Haberfeld, said she was driving along the same route when her car was attacked.

"They tried to throw rocks in our direction but missed and hit the driver behind us who lost control of the vehicle and was killed," she told Channel 10 TV. "We stopped a few meters away on the side to call the police. My mother saw a masked man run toward the car with a slingshot, she screamed at me to duck. I ducked down and I heard the glass shatter and my mother and I were covered in broken glass."

She said a resident from a nearby Arab neighborhood, driving a motorcycle, later stopped, checked to see if she and her mother were aright and gave them water.

Later Monday, another Israeli was injured by Palestinian rock throwers on the outskirts of the Old City in Jerusalem, police said.

There has been a spike in Palestinian violence against Israeli civilians and soldiers over the past year, which has included fatalities and casualties.

In Jordan, King Abdullah II warned Israel, saying the kingdom was "very concerned and angered with the recent escalation's in Jerusalem, specifically in Al Aqsa Mosque" in Jerusalem. He issued a statement ahead of a meeting with visiting British Prime Minister David Cameron.

"We have gotten reassurances from the Israelis government that this would not happen. Unfortunately, these are reassurances we have heard in the past," the king said. "Any more provocations in Jerusalem, will affect the relationship between Jordan and Israel; and Jordan will have no choice, but to take action, unfortunately."

On Sunday, police clashed with Palestinians who barricaded themselves inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City and threw rocks and firecrackers.

Since Israel captured east Jerusalem from Jordan in 1967, Jewish worshippers have been allowed to visit - but not pray - at the compound.

Muslim authorities view the presence of Jewish worshippers and Israeli police as a provocation and accuse Jewish extremists of plotting to take over the site.

Israel has promised to ensure the status quo at the site.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene an emergency meeting over the recent Palestinian attacks on Tuesday night, after the Jewish new year holiday of Rosh Hashanah ends, an official at the premier's office said hours after Levlovitz died in the attack on his car.

"The prime minister views with great severity the throwing of rocks and fire bombs against Israeli citizens and intends to fight the phenomena by all means, including increasing punishment and enforcement," the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity according to regulations.

U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the latest escalation at holy sites in Jerusalem and other violence, including the stone-throwing incident that led to the death of an Israeli man, "once again underscored the importance of reaching a final status agreement through negotiations on all issues, including arrangements for the holy sites that are acceptable to all."

Palestinians have also been assaulted - in the deadliest such incident, a Palestinian toddler was killed in an arson attack on a home in the West Bank in July. His parents later died of their wounds suffered in that attack. That attack was widely condemned across Israel's political spectrum and the government vowed to crackdown on Israeli extremists.

In Washington, State Department spokesman John Kirby said the U.S. is "deeply concerned by the recent violence and escalating tensions" surrounding the Jerusalem holy site and called on all sides to "exercise restraint, refrain from provocative actions and rhetoric and preserve unchanged historic status quo" at the site.

Saudi Arabia Warns of ‘Religious War’ Over Temple Mount Clashes

Saudi Arabia is raising the issue of violence at the Temple Mount with the United Nations Security Council.

Saudi Arabian King Salman has turned to the United Nations seeking “urgent measures” to stop what he called Israel’s “violations” on the Temple Mount, warning of a possible “religious war” if the violence at the site is not stopped.

Of course, the violence and provocations are started and perpetuated by Palestinian Arab Muslims, each and every time — but somehow that salient fact is disregarded by every single foreign party to the discussion.

Moreover, the so-called “violations” referred to by the king have consisted of measures enforcing the status quo that allows the presence of Jewish and other visitors in the Temple Mount compound for a number of hours each day. No one other than Muslims have ever been allowed to enter the Al Aqsa Mosque.

That changed this week, however, when it became clear that “worshipers” were in fact combatants stockpiling rocks, bottles, firebombs and firecrackers inside the mosque to use as weapons against police and Jewish visitors during the morning hours.

On Wednesday, police entered the mosque after receiving concrete intelligence about the weapons cache, and indeed found what they sought, after a battle with the “worshipers.”

A similar operation had taken place earlier in the week before the start of the Rosh Hashana holiday, when Israeli police seized pipe bombs stockpiled inside the mosque with rocks and other weapons.

The Arabs had started to hurl their projectiles at the Mughrabi Gate, where non-Muslims enter the Temple Mount, prompting police to enter the site and also to search for the weapons cache.

Ignoring all of these religious violations of their own holy sanctuary by the so-called “worshipers,” however, King Salman instead expressed “strong condemnation of the dangerous Israeli escalation” at the site, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The king “called for serious and speedy international efforts and for the intervention of the Security Council to take all urgent measures to stop these violations,” the news agency said.

Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas also added a few words, telling eastern Jerusalem activists this week at a meeting in Ramallah, “Al Aqsa is ours, the Holy Sepulcher is also ours. They have no right to dirty the mosque with their filthy feet, we won’t let them do it.”

And instead of pouring oil on the troubled waters, Jordanian monarch King Abdullah II has simply added more fuel to the fire despite maintaining a peace treaty with Israel, that gives Amman custodianship rights over Muslim holy sites in Jerusalem since 1994.

The Hashemite monarch warned Tuesday in a statement that “any more provocations in Jerusalem will affect the relationship between Jordan and Israel, and Jordan will have no choice but to take action.”

Israel’s Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has consistently maintained the country has no interest in changing the status quo. This also includes, however, the rights of Jews and other non-Muslims to visit the site regardless of Muslim opposition to their presence.

Israel Police arrested eight Palestinian Arabs on Thursday, including six minors, all of whom were suspects involved in recent clashes with security forces.

Since the start of this week, at least 14 Israel Police officers have been injured by violent Arabs hurling rocks and firecrackers at them.

At least 36 Palestinian Arabs have been arrested in riots so far this week as well.

Salman complained that the “attack on worshipers” violates the sanctity of faith and “contributes to feeding extremism and violence in the world,” SPA reported, adding that the king said much the same in phone calls to the leaders of Russia, the UK and France.

The Art of Baking Biblical Bread: Preparing for the Third Temple

On Monday, a reenactment of a special Temple service was held in Jerusalem on the Armon Hanatziv Promenade. To a casual observer, it resembled a country fair. Families gathered for a pleasant afternoon, children gawked at displays of goats and produce, while the main event, a bake-off, featured two very unusual looking loaves of bread. It became clear this was not your normal gathering of farmers when bearded men in flowing white robes began to blow on long silver trumpets.

This full-dress reenactment of the Omer offering was an essential part of preparing for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple, bringing it closer in the most practical ways.

On the first night after Passover, Jews begin counting the Omer, marking off seven complete weeks and culminating in the holiday of Shavuot (Festival of Weeks), which this year took place on June 12. Most people associate the holiday with celebrating the day on which Jewish tradition holds God gave the Torah to Israel at Mount Sinai, but the festival looked very different in the days of the Temple.

The Bible commands Jews to bring two loaves of bread on Shavuot to the Temple. Made from the choicest wheat, which was ground and sifted twelve times before being baked, it was brought as a thanksgiving “wave offering” along with two lambs, as a central aspect of the national holiday.

Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals; they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto Hashem. (Leviticus 23:17)

Rabbi Yaakov Savir led the reenactments of the Omer offerings this year in Jerusalem. He told Breaking Israel News that the reenactments are essential to preparing for the Third Temple, because they teach the priests about the practical details of performing the special commandments.

“Despite the detailed descriptions in Rabbinic literature, every time we re-enact the rituals we discover something,” he explained. “The two loaves are the only grain offerings brought to the Temple made from leavened bread. All of the other grain offering are flat, pan breads, usually fried in oil. Even the Show Bread that was always present in the Temple, despite being quite large, was essentially matzah, unleavened bread.

“The two loaves brought to the Temple are made from a sourdough. This requires a sourdough starter to begin the process of leavening. This starter takes quite a long time to make and is usually, in domestic use, saved as a culture. These cultured starters have to be destroyed before Pesach (Passover), along with any leavened products. When we set out to make the two loaves for the Omer, we have to begin the process of creating a new sourdough starter as soon as Pesach ends in order to make the two loaves for Shavuot.

“Until almost three weeks ago, the starter wasn’t able to make the bread rise at all. This year, since Shavuot came directly after Shabbat, we had to bake the loaves two days before the actual holiday. The sourdough was just coming into its full strength. This is a detail that is never mentioned in the rabbinic literature and we never would have known unless we had actually done the mitzvah (Biblical commandment),” he explained. “The seven weeks after Pesach are necessary to create the sourdough needed to bake the two loaves of bread for Shavuot.”

Not only was it essential to learn this important practical detail order to bring the actual sacrifices, he continued, but it it shows a holistic and natural basis for the Temple Service in which everything, including the rising agent of the bread offering, is taken into account.

The reenactment of the Temple service reconnected the modern holiday of Shavuot with its agricultural roots as Chag Hakatzir, the Harvest Festival. Rav Hillel Weiss, secretary of the Nascent Sanhedrin and an organizer of the event, told Breaking Israel News that this aspect of the holiday is more relevant today than ever, noting the connection between modern Israel and agriculture.

“This is the holiday of the wheat harvest, and the rise of the modern state of Israel has had a major impact on wheat in the world,” he asserted. “Aaronsohn wheat came from Israel!”

Aaron Aaronsohn was an agronomist and Zionist who lived most of his life in Israel in the late 19th century, when it was still the Ottoman Empire. Aaronsohn discovered wild emmer, Triticum Dicocoides, believed to be the ancestor of most domesticated wheat strands cultivated on a large scale today.

“Aaronsohn wheat is being used to fix many of the problems arising from genetically modified wheat,” the rabbi explained. “This is certainly an unanticipated practical aspect of the Jews Messianic return to Israel and is a reflection of the agricultural roots of the festivals.”

He also noted the nationalistic aspect of the holiday. “Today, our right to the land is being brought into question and history is being re-written. It is written in Vayikra Rabbah (a homiletic collection of teachings on subjects covered in Leviticus) that Abraham merited the land of Israel because of the Omer offering. It is important to express that our religion is agriculture in its essence with holiness emanating from the land and its bounty.”

Will We See Progress on the Third Temple Next Month?

“Even them will I bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer; their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be acceptable upon Mine altar; for My house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” Isaiah 56:7 (The Israel Bible™)

Since the month of July, 2016 began, Israel appears to be experiencing new energy around the Temple Mount.

The funeral for 13 year-old Hallel Ariel who was stabbed to death as she lay in her bed in the Israeli city of Kiryat Arba, not far from the Biblical city of Hebron, took place on July 1. Hallel is the daughter of Rina Ariel, a well-known Temple activist and one of the founders of Women for the Mikdash (Temple).

On Tuesday, July 12, just after Hallel’s family completed the 7-day mourning period, her parents gathered hundreds of supporters to rename the one gate through which non-Muslims are allowed to enter the Temple Mount in memory of their slain daughter. Hallel’s father recited a version of the Priestly Blessing when he ascended the Temple Mount that morning.

In between these events, international Bible Code expert Rabbi Matityahu Glazerson released a new Bible Code video he called “Temple will come down to Jerusalem 5776 in bible code.”

At the 3:15 mark, Glazerson points to a Bible code that translates as “God will inform on the 15th of [the Hebrew month of] Av.” This year, the 15th of Av corresponds to Friday, August 19.

“We don’t know exactly what it refers to,” commented Glazerson, but the clear implication is that God will notify us about something important having to do with the Temple on the 15th of Av.

What is the significance of the 15th of Av in the Hebrew calendar? Glazerson opens the 5-minute video with a quote from the 19th century Rabbi Zadok ha-Kohen of Lublin who wrote that “the 15th of [the Hebrew month of] Av is the time for building the Beit HaMikdash (the Holy Temple) since on that date the sin of the spies was.”

The spies Rabbi Zadok ha-Kohen was referring to were the group of 12 sent by Moses to scout out the Land of Israel prior to the Israelites’ entry (Numbers 13). Of the dozen men sent to report on the land, ten of them returned with scathing criticisms of the Holy Land.

Are there hidden messages from God in the Bible?

Their speaking against Israel was an egregious sin which is marked each year on the 9th of Av with a day of mourning and a full 25-hour fast. The 9th of Av is also the anniversary of the destruction of the First and Second Temples and a host of other tragedies in Jewish history.

As a result of the evil report delivered about the Land, that generation of adult men was sentenced to death. Each year during the 40 years in the desert, on the 9th of Av, a percentage of the men died. On the 15th of Av in the 40th year after leaving Egypt, the annual deaths ceased. To this day, the 15th of Av is a minor day of celebration in the Jewish calendar.

Turning to the table at the 1:44 mark, Glazerson points to the code that means the Temple will descend. This is a reference to the idea, expressed in multiple Jewish sources, that the Third Temple will be brought down from Heaven. This code was found right next to the words Moshiach (Messiah) and Yerushalayim (Jerusalem).

Nearby, Glazerson points to a clear reference to the current Hebrew year, which ends at nightfall on Sunday, October 2, 2016 ahead of the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashana. Attached to the date, Glazerson points out the code for “it will be shining”.

Answering the question, “What will be shining?”, he identifies the word haShechinah. A difficult word to translate, haShechinah refers to dwelling of God’s divine presence in this world. Throughout rabbinic literature, it is associated with the Tabernacle, the First Temple and the Third Temple, which are considered dwelling places for the Shechinah.

To make the association between the Shechinah and the Temple even stronger, Glazerson points out the words mihahar (from the mountain). From which mountain will the Shechinah come? In answer to the question, the code for Moriah is right there. Mt. Moriah is the site where King Solomon built the First Temple.

Then Shlomo began to build the house of Hashem at Yerushalayim in mount Moriah, where [Hashem] appeared unto David his father; for which provision had been made in the Place of David, in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.  2 Chronicles 3:1

Moriah was also the place where the binding of Isaac took place.

And He said: ‘Take now thy son, thine only son, whom thou lovest, even Yitzchak, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt-offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.’  Genesis 22:2

As always, Glazerson is careful to conclude by clarifying that the appearance of the Temple on Mt. Moriah next month is conditional on the Godly behavior of the Jewish people. Bible codes are not meant to predict, but to indicate that certain times are auspicious, if the conditions are right.

School to Train Levite Priests for Third Temple Service to Open in Jerusalem

The Temple Institute has brought the Third Temple one step closer by establishing a school for Jewish priests (kohanim) to learn how to perform the Temple Service. A group of students, certified as being from the priestly caste, stands ready to learn all of the details of this complicated task, which may become relevant sooner than anyone thinks.

Four months ago, the Temple Institute established a registry of Kohanim, a list of men who have a clear patriarchal heritage from the priestly class. The Kohanim must fit certain criteria, in addition to having priestly heritage: they must have been born and raised in Israel, and have observed the laws of purity incumbent upon priests.

This excludes anyone who has come into proximity with the dead, so priests who were born in hospitals, have visited hospitals, or have entered cemeteries are not eligible.

The Temple Institute was founded in 1987 to fulfill the mission of bringing about the Third Temple. In addition to educating and raising awareness, the Institute made amazing practical progress in this daunting task.

It has recreated over 70 vessels that are ready to be used in the Temple, is breeding the Red Heifer in order to purify the Nation of Israel, and has produced the special garb the Bible requires the Kohanim to wear while performing the Temple service.

The Institute has also reconstructed the High Priest’s breastplate featuring the twelve precious stones of the tribes of Israel, the half-ton golden menorah that will stand inside the Temple, and the musical instruments of the Levitical choir. In addition, it has made significant advances in preparing the architectural plans for the building of the Temple.

In order to further their goal, the Temple Institute established The Nezer HaKodesh Institute for Kohanic Studies to instruct Jews from the priestly caste in the Temple service. This comes after four years of extensive pilot programs. In the new program, students will learn the halacha (Torah law) relevant to the Temple service.

The Temple Institute’s courses of study include: The Role and Application of Modern Technology in the Third Temple; The Mathematics of the Holy Temple; The Temple Service: Theory and Practice; Holy Temple Administration; The Sacred Temple Vessels: Aspects of Engineering and Design; and The Topography of the Temple Mount and the Structure of Ezekiel’s Temple.

“We are extremely excited to announce this new step towards the restoration of the Holy Temple service,” Rabbi Chaim Richman, international director of the Temple Institute, said in statement announcing the new Kohanic institute.

“We call first and foremost upon Kohanim worldwide to support this special project, which signifies a return to their birth right.”

The second Temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 CE and the Temple Mount has been under Jordanian supervision since Israel conquered it in 1967. Administered by the Waqf, a Jordanian Muslim authority, non-Muslims are forbidden from praying at the site, and Jewish visitation is severely limited.

Discussing plans to build a Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount is considered by some to be incitement to Muslim violence. The Temple Institute is advancing the 2,000 year old dream of a Temple in Jerusalem in a way that does not disturb Muslim observance on the Temple Mount.

The first job for the Kohanim proposed by the Institute will be to initiate the Red Heifer service, which is performed outside the Temple Mount.

Israel’s Chief Ashkenazi Rabbi David Lau and several other Israeli politicians have suggested allowing multi-faith prayer at the site that would not involve removing or renovating the Muslim structures.

Clashes Erupt on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount as Thousands Gather to Mourn Destroyed Temples
Clashes broke out at the Temple Mount compound on Sunday morning as Muslim rioted against Jews touring the area in commemoration of Tisha B’av, the Hebrew date on which both temples were destroyed, according to Jewish tradition. Earlier, thousands of Jewish mourners gathered throughout the night at the adjacent Western Wall plaza to cite lamentations.

The women waiting, and weaving, for the Third Temple

A group of religious activists is diligently laying the groundwork for a renewed sanctuary. ‘Step by step, patiently, we are preparing,’ one says. There is, however, a growing number of Israelis for whom the dream of establishing a third temple in the place of Al-Aqsa is far from outlandish or absurd: It is a life’s mission. And they are slowly but surely moving from the fringes of the religious right into the country’s corridors of power.

Jordan's King Abdullah vows to fight Israeli 'extremism' at Temple Mount
The king accused Israel of attempting to "violate the sanctity and compromise al-Aksa Mosque," and added that, "Our responsibility towards the Muslim holy places in Jerusalem is our top priority in the international arena, and we use all means necessary to defend al-Aksa Mosque."

Destruction of both Temples supported by archaeological findings

For nearly two thousand years, Jews have mourned the destruction of the Temples. They have traditionally relied on the account of the First Temple's destruction as told in the Bible and the external accounts for the destruction of the Second Temple—but over the past decade, archaeological findings supporting the Jewish canon have been adding evidence.

Sanhedrin Appoints High Priest in Preparation for Third Temple -

A significant step was recently taken towards reinstating the Temple service when the nascent Sanhedrin selected Rabbi Baruch Kahane as the next Kohen Gadol (high priest). The selection was made as a precaution for Yom Kippur. If the political conditions should change, allowing the Jews access to the Temple Mount, they will be required by Torah law to bring the sacrifices. Rabbi Kahane is confident that if that should happen, Temple service could begin in less than one week.

Rabbi Kahane is a prominent scholar, knowledgeable in the complicated laws pertaining to the subject of the Temple Service. He is part of the Halacha Berurah Institute, established by Rabbi Avraham Isaac HaCohen Kook, the first Chief Rabbi of Israel, which deals with the elucidation of Jewish law from its Talmudic sources (Oral Law) and commentaries. He has played a prominent role in all the reenactments of the Temple services performed to date.

This year has already seen much Temple-oriented activity: the Temple Institute has created a registry of kohanim; established a school for educating men of the priestly class in the details of the Temple service; and performed reenactments on all the holidays, including the especially significant Passover sacrifice.

Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the nascent Sanhedrin, explained to Breaking Israel News the necessity for choosing a High Priest, even in the absence of a Temple.

“We do not need a miraculous occurrence like the sudden appearance of a Temple descending from heaven onto the Temple Mount to make this decision relevant,” explained Rabbi Weiss. “The only obstacle preventing the Temple service today is the political issue. If that should suddenly change, as it very well could, we would be required to begin the Temple service immediately. It is therefore necessary that we have a candidate prepared to fill the role of the High Priest, especially now that we have kohanim prepared to serve in the Temple.”

Rabbi Yisrael Ariel, founder and and head of the Temple Institute, is a member of the Sanhedrin but did not rule in this decision. He told Breaking Israel News that it was necessary for the Sanhedrin to choose a Kohen Gadol.

“This is certainly something we should do now as religious Jews. Choosing a high priest and all of the preparations for the Temple Service  are mitzvot (commandments) that are incumbent upon us according to the Torah,” said Rabbi Ariel.

“It is not a matter of opinion. It is written explicitly in the Torah and, just like any of the other mitzvot written in the Torah, we have to choose a Kohen Gadol, and make all the preparations, regardless of whether there is a Temple standing right now.”

Rabbi Kahane was reluctant to discuss the Sanhedrin’s decision. “This may not be the time to choose a Kohen Gadol. There are no sacrifices required,” he said to Breaking Israel News. However, he added, “That could change overnight. In any case, it is clear that we need to be prepared, to prepare the priests, to have everything ready.”

When asked how long it would take to begin sacrifices if it suddenly became permissible, he considered carefully before answering. “If the government decided to permit it, it would only take a few weeks to make preparations, even to do the Yom Kippur service,” he said.

“The structures can be temporary and prepared almost overnight. The biggest obstacle is educating the kohanim, which we are taking care of already. Once the priests are thoroughly educated, choosing a Kohen Gadol and teaching him what he needs to know for the Yom Kippur service is relatively simple and will take one week. The Temple Service performed by the Kohen Gadol is very demanding, but for an educated kohen, it is not overly difficult to learn to serve as the Kohen Gadol.”

Rabbi Weiss explained the importance of advancing Temple initiatives even when it seems that reinstituting the Temple service is not a matter of urgency.

“There are many Torah laws that are not sacrifices or Temple service but are nonetheless dependant on the Temple and the kohanim. We recently reenacted the Omer Wave offering, which has ramifications for when Israel can eat the current wheat harvest. In addition, we also reenacted the giving of the shoulder, two cheeks, and stomach of an ox to the priests.”

And this shall be the Kohanim’s due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the Kohen the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw. Deuteronomy 18:3

“This is not only part of a sacrifice, but is also an issue of kashrut (kosher laws), which we should be doing today,” explained Rabbi Weiss. “Instead, it is treated in a rather shabby, symbolic manner.”

While it seems unlikely that the political climate could shift within a few weeks to the extent necessary for Jews to establish an altar and begin preparing sacrifices on the Mount in time for Yom Kippur, the world can rest assured that as the moment those changes should occur, the Jewish people are prepared.

For First Time Ever, Archaeological Evidence Proves Jewish Temple Stood on Temple Mount [PHOTOS]

An incredible new discovery at the Temple Mount has produced the first-ever physical and archaeological evidence that the Jewish Second Temple stood on the Mount 2,000 years ago, upsetting Arab claims, increasingly endorsed by the international community, that the Temples never existed.

Archaeologists from the Temple Mount Sifting Project, salvaging artifacts from Muslim destruction at the Temple complex, have completed the restoration of ornate floor tiles which experts believe likely decorated the courtyard of the Second Jewish Temple. The project provides visible and incontrovertible proof, backed up by ancient texts and historical context, of a Jewish Temple on the Mount.

In total, archaeological teams have uncovered approximately 600 colored stone floor tile segments, with more than 100 of them positively dated to the Herodian Second Temple period (37-4 BCE).

The importance of the discovery is undeniable.

“This represents the first time that archeologists have been able to successfully restore an element from the Herodian Second Temple complex,” said Zachi Dvira, co-founder and director of the Temple Mount Sifting Project.

The Sifting Project began in the Tzurim Valley National Park in 2004 in an attempt to salvage whatever archaeological artifacts it could from destruction caused by illegal construction projects on the Temple Mount led by the Jordanian Waqf that controls the Mount.

This destruction of irreplaceable archaeological artifacts is considered to be part of a larger trend of Temple denial. Denying Jewish connection to the Temple Mount began at the 2000 Camp David Summit, when the Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat insisted that “the Temple” existed near Shechem (Nablus), and not on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

This claim has been taken up in the international narrative as UNESCO passed an initiative claiming the Temple Mount as an exclusively Muslim holy site. This claim went mainstream last October when the New York Times published an article questioning whether the two Jewish Temples ever existed at all.

Breaking Israel News asked Dr. Gabriel Barkay, co-founder and director of the Temple Mount Sifting Project, if this first-of-its-kind restoration was absolute proof refuting Temple denial.

“You are asking me if I have proof that water is wet,” he responded emphatically. “I don’t need to prove anything. I found facts.”

Dr. Barkay compared denial of the Jewish Temples to denying the Holocaust. “I myself am a Holocaust survivor, and I couldn’t care less about people who deny what I know to be true. For the Holocaust, we have the camps, we have the films and photographs, and we have the survivors,” he told Breaking Israel News.

“For the Temple, we have the Mishnah (Oral Law), the New Testament, we have the writings of Flavius Josephus (a 1st Century Romano-Jewish historian). We have mountains of archaeological evidence. I don’t want to relate to what is nothing less than a political misuse of history.

Jerusalem Temple Floor Restored With Sacred Tiles

A Jerusalem temple floor of tile fragments from the Temple Mount – called “the most sacred site in Judaism” – has been restored for the first time by archaeologists.

The reassembled pieces of tiles were found at the site known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as Haram al-Sharif, said the BBC News.

The tiles are said to be from the period of the Second Temple, during the time of King Herod, a “Roman king, who ruled the area in the first century BCE and expanded the site of the second Temple,” said SpreadIt. The temple was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD in the midst of a Jewish rebellion.

According to BBC, archaeologists have been examining debris from the temple floor since 2004 and they’ve now made headlines after finding one of the tile designs that once decorated the temple, tiles that were found on what’s considered “the most sacred site in Judaism.”

The Temple Mount Sifting Project was established by Israeli archaeologists in 2004 and has brought thousands of volunteers from across the world to search through “tons of antiquities-rich earth from the Temple Mount,” SpreadIt noted. The project has also led to finding “hundreds of ancient relics, including coins, animal bones and pieces of pottery,” BBC noted.

“Temple Mount is one of the most important religious sites in the world. It has been venerated as a holy site for thousands of years by Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The present site is dominated by three monumental structures from the early Umayyad period: the al-Aqsa Mosque, the Dome of the Rock and the Dome of the Chain, as well as four minarets…,” said SpreadIt.

Frankie Snyder, a member of the project’s team, described the restored flooring as “opus sectile,” which is Latin for “cut work,” and “considered to be far more prestigious than mosaic tile floors.

UNESCO Responds to Sanhedrin's Demand for Jewish Sovereignty on Temple Mount

In a powerful letter, exclusively obtained by Breaking Israel News, the nascent Sanhedrin recently blasted the ongoing efforts of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to give Muslims complete sovereignty of the Temple Mount, prompting a response from the UN body which claims it recognizes the Jewish connection to the Mount but, unsurprisingly, offers very little proof.

The Sanhedrin’s letter, sent to UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova on August 12, came as a response to a string of recent attempts by the organization to erase any Jewish claim to its holiest site.

In June, UNESCO adopted a resolution that required the Temple Mount be referred to in all official documents as Al Aqsa, the silver-domed mosque on the site. One month later, UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee met in Istanbul to vote on another resolution, based on a joint Palestinian-Jordanian initiative, calling for a return to the “historic status quo” which existed before the 1967 war.

This would effectively ban Jews and other non-Muslims from setting foot in the Temple Mount complex. If the intention was not clear enough, the initiative referred to Israel as the “occupying power”.

In what seemed a divinely decreed coincidence, UNESCO was forced to postpone the vote due to the attempted coup in Turkey. A new vote is expected to take place in October.

Facing a strong international backlash against the resolution after the cancelled vote, Bokova backpedalled, saying in a July statement, “To deny or conceal any of the Jewish, Christian or Muslim traditions undermines the integrity of the site.”

In its recent letter to Bokova, the Sanhedrin called for UNESCO to put an end to its efforts to establish Muslim exclusivity on the Temple Mount. Breaking Israel News was shown the letters by the Sanhedrin and is exclusively reporting the exchange between the Sanhedrin and UNESCO.

“The Jewish people demands that UNESCO and the European Union stop dealing with this anti-Biblical manifesto,” the letter read. “According to God’s command, the people of Israel conquered the territory of Judah and the Temple Mount from the Canaanites under the leadership of Joshua the son of Nun and later by King David. These areas were sanctified for the people of Israel and for the construction of the Temple as a place of prayer every man.”

The Sanhedrin went on to cite the incontrovertible archaeological evidence of the Jewish claims to the Temple Mount and Israel, and point out the absolute lack of any such proof for Muslim claims to the site predating the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem in 636 CE.

The letter also called for a neutral international committee of scientists and archaeologists to establish the facts, and demanded that Jewish sovereignty be re-established on the Mount.

“This [Muslim] occupation ended with the establishment of the State of Israel,” the Sanhedrin stated. “The followers of Islam must therefore immediately vacate the premises and return it to its rightful owner.”

The letter reiterated a claim the Sanhedrin has made in the past linking the rise in terror to UNESCO’s actions separating Jews from the Temple Mount.

“The centrality of the Temple Mount in the life of the Jewish nation has a central role in preserving world peace,” said the letter, adding, “Only by following the word of God and fulfilling his will as presented in the Book of Books will salvation come to all people and nations…Rejecting the heritage of the existence of the Holy Temple in its place directly supports terrorism, ISIS, and the dream of setting up a bloody Muslim caliphate.”

The letter was signed by Rabbi Dov Stein, Secretary of the Sanhedrin, Rabbi Prof. Hillel Weiss, and Rabbi Yishai Babad, spokesmen for the Sanhedrin.

On August 24, Francesco Bandarin, the UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture, responded on behalf of Bokova with a letter to the Sanhedrin. After noting that UNESCO member states, and not Bokova, take part in the votes, he quoted her July statement insisting that UNESCO is not denying Jewish, Christian or Muslim traditions at the Mount.

However, Mr. Bandarin made no reference to any of the multiple UNESCO initiatives that declaim Jewish ties to the site, or the impending vote to grant Muslim exclusivity to the site.

Instead, he ignored that point entirely and focused on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Israel, which he wrote “attest to our commitment to Jewish culture.” However, few of the listed sites have anything to do with Judaism, or even the Bible.

Among the nine sites on that list are Masada, where Jews committed mass suicide in order to avoid Roman capture, and the Necropolis of Bet She’Arim, an ancient Jewish cemetery. A collection of architectural landmarks in Tel Aviv notable for incorporating the Bauhaus style from pre-war Germany is on the list. Two sites holy to the Bahai religion and several other sites of archaeological and anthropological note also made the cut.

There are no sites on the list significant to either Judaism or Christianity; not even the Western Wall is considered a World Heritage Site. The outer walls of Jerusalem are on the list as a cultural site whose “territorial status is yet to be determined.”

In another weak attempt to prove UNESCO’s “commitment to Jewish culture”, Bandarin cited a joint UNESCO/Simon Weisenthal Center exhibition, “People, Book, Land: the 3,500 Year Relationship of the Jewish People with the Holy Land”.

UNESCO had delayed the exhibit’s Paris debut by six months in deference to Arab concerns, citing “unresolved issues relating to potentially contestable textual and visual historical points, which might be perceived by Member States as endangering the peace process.” The exhibit did eventually open in March, after the venue was changed to the UN’s New York City headquarters.

5 Biggest Temple Stories of Year Prove Third Temple is Closer Than Ever

“Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto Hashem.” Leviticus 23:27 (The Israel Bible™)

While today, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, means long hours of intense prayer, the modern holiday service is really a stand-in for Biblical sacrifices performed by the High Priest as he entered the Holy of Holies in the Temple in order to beg forgiveness for the Jewish people. While the Temple was standing, thousands would gather to witness the holy offerings and pray for atonement. Though the Temple was not built this year, many significant events have brought us closer than ever before to its prophesied rebuilding, and all over the world, Jews are praying that this time next year, the Yom Kippur service will take place in the Third Temple!

1. Sanhedrin Appoints High Priest in Preparation for Third Temple

In preparation for the High Holidays, the nascent Sanhedrin selected Rabbi Meir Kahane in August to perform the function of the High Priest, should the need arise. Rabbi Kahane has led many reenactments of the Temple Service, and is prepared to perform the service. If a Yom Kippur service is performed on the Temple Mount this year, Rabbi Kahane will not be acting alone. The Temple Institute has initiated a registry of Kohanim (priests) and an institute to educate them, bringing us closer than ever to actualizing our 2,000-year-old dream.

2. Lost Stone From High Priest’s Prophetic Breastplate Thought Found After Incredible Journey

In a remarkable journey that took 1,100 years, a sardonyx was rediscovered in September that many experts believe is actually from the High Priest’s breastplate. The engraving of a Hebrew letter ‘bet’ floats below the surface and has baffled scientists, who have no idea how the engraving came to be. The stone was acquired in Jerusalem in 1189 by a French Templar Knight and was passed down from generation to generation. It has finally resurfaced, and a group of businessmen is working to bring it back home to Jerusalem.

3. Second Temple “Reappears” in the Western Wall Plaza [PHOTOS]

A new attraction at the Kotel Plaza has Temple-minded tourists going wild. A project from The Temple Mount Heritage Foundation and ArchTour opened September 19, recreating the Second Temple in a virtual reality 3-D experience. The virtual tour begins in the Old City marketplace, entering the Temple courtyard through the southern gate, and brings the visitor right into the Temple, where he witnesses the Temple service, up-close and firsthand.

4. Sanhedrin Revives 2,000-Year-Old Blessing for Counting of Jubilee Year

The nascent Sanhedrin jump-started the Torah commandment of counting the 50-year Jubilee cycle as Rosh Hashana went out last year. Not only did this give Jews an opportunity to perform an additional Torah mitzvah, but it officially marked the third arrival of the Jews in the Promised Land. The Sanhedrin counted the first year in a closed room with only a few people to witness it. This year, this special Torah commandment was performed by thousands of Jews, as they marked the second year of the 50-year cycle with its proper blessing, not heard for over 2,000 years.

5. For First Time EVER, Undeniable Evidence of Jewish Temple Discovered [PHOTOS])

A group of archaeologists and volunteers pieced together spectacular marble tiles from the Second Temple courtyard, giving incontrovertible proof that the Temple Mount was home to the Jewish Temples. The tiles were found in piles of refuse taken from the Temple Mount during illegal construction by the Waqf (Muslim Authority). A group of archaeologists and volunteers dedicated themselves to saving the irreplaceable artifacts endangered by the intentionally reckless actions of the Waqf. In September, they completed the painstaking process of piecing together the tile fragments. The result: a glimpse of the glory that once was the Temple.

FINALLY some non-election AND bible prophecy news! Smiley

http://www.breakingisraelnews.com/78372/bin-exclusive-sanhedrin-asks-putin-trump-build-third-temple-jerusalem/
BIN EXCLUSIVE: Sanhedrin Asks Putin and Trump to Build Third Temple in Jerusalem
By Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz November 10, 2016 , 11:30 am

The Nascent Sanhedrin is calling on Russian President Vladmir Putin and US president-elect Donald Trump to join forces and fulfill their Biblically-mandated roles by rebuilding the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem.

Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the Sanhedrin, contacted Breaking Israel News to announce that the election of Trump, who has promised to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, coupled with Putin’s expressed desire for the Temple to be rebuilt, prompted the Jewish court to send a letter offering the two the opportunity to act as modern-day Cyrus figures: non-Jewish kings who recognize the importance of Israel and the Temple.

Cyrus the Great, King of Persia in the sixth century BCE, announced in the first year of his reign that he was prompted by God to make a decree that the Temple in Jerusalem should be rebuilt.

Thus saith Koresh king of Paras: All the kingdoms of the earth hath Hashem, the God of heaven, given me; and He hath charged me to build Him a house in Yerushalayim, which is in Yehuda. Ezra 1:2

Cyrus sent the Jews under his rule back to Israel with a considerable sum of money with which to rebuild the Temple. The Sanhedrin plans to call on the two world leaders to take up this ancient Biblical decree and support the Jewish people in their holy mission.

Rabbi Weiss explained that the US elections have made the eternal Jewish dream a very real possibility.

“We are poised to rebuild the Temple. The political conditions today, in which the two most important national leaders in the world support the Jewish right to Jerusalem as their spiritual inheritance, is historically unprecedented,” Rabbi Weiss told Breaking Israel News.
Stay up to date with all your Prophecy News!

The Sanhedrin’s letter notes that Trump’s upset victory was due to his support of Jerusalem, and reminds Trump of his campaign promise to move the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, effectively recognizing the city as the capital of Israel. The Jerusalem Embassy Act, passed in Congress in 1995, initiated the moving of the embassy, but has been vetoed since every American president since. The Sanhedrin calls on Trump to withhold the veto after he takes office.

The Sanhedrin also recalled Putin’s connection to the Temple in its letter. During his third official trip to Jerusalem in 2012, Putin paid a late-night visit to the Kotel (Western Wall). When he arrived at the holy site, the Russian leader stood in silence for several minutes, offering up a personal prayer, after which he read Psalms from a Russian-Hebrew prayer book.

An Israeli bystander called out in Russian, “Welcome, President Putin.” Putin approached the man, who explained the importance of the Temple Mount and the Jewish Temple. Chadrei Charedim, an Orthodox Hebrew news site, reported that Putin responded, “That’s exactly the reason I came here – to pray for the Temple to be built again.”
Putin at the Western Wall

After this remarkable exchange, the Sanhedrin sent a letter to Putin calling on him to fulfill his prayer. At the time, President Putin did not respond to the Sanhedrin’s request, but now that the incoming US president is a potential ally in the project, the Sanhedrin believes it is time for Putin to take an active role in rebuilding the Temple.

In addition to its requests concerning the Temple, the Sanhedrin is also calling on Putin and Trump to renew the 1920 League of Nations resolution known as the San Remo treaty, which essentially enabled the creation of a Jewish State by dividing the Ottoman Empire. It incorporated the Balfour Declaration, issued by Great Britain in 1917, which gave official recognition and backing for the establishment of Israel.

US President Calvin Coolidge ratified the San Remo agreement in 1925, thus making recognition of a Jewish State legally binding by US law. The Sanhedrin emphasized that it is imperative at this time, when the Palestinian Authority is attempting to rewrite world history by campaigning against the Balfour declaration, to strengthen the historic American commitment to the State of Israel by readopting the agreement.

Rabbi Weiss emphasized that supporting the Jewish claim to Jerusalem would bring benefit Russia and America, as well as the entire world.

“The leaders of Russia and America can lead the nations of the world to global peace through building the Temple, the source of peace,” Rabbi Weiss explained. “This will offset the disgraceful UNESCO resolutions that are the root cause of increasing terror and violence.”

Last month, the United Nations Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (UNESCO) passed two resolutions denying any  connection between the city of Jerusalem and the Jewish people, ceding to Islam a religious monopoly on many of Judaism’s holiest sites.

Maybe my memory is shoddy, but nonetheless I don't recall any previous Presidents working with others toward a 3rd Temple. Don't remember Obama doing so, nor Bush Jr, Bill, Bush Sr, Reagan, etc.

Who knows what's coming out of this - but again, looks like things could be coming closer and closer into play now. MAYBE.

Third Temple on the Way as Priests Prepare Ritual Shabbat Showbreads [PHOTOS]

Last Saturday, a Shabbat reenactment of a Temple ritual took place in the holy city of Hebron, giving participants a taste of the Temple service as it was in Biblical times while taking a practical step towards preparing for the Third Temple.

More than 80 participants were greeted in Hebron Friday afternoon by the lighting of the Temple Menorah, lit by Shimshon Album and Rabbi Yaakov Hayman, the newly-elected chairman of the Temple Movement.

Facing the Menorah was the special rack holding the 12 lechem panim (show breads).

The lechem panim is unleavened bread, similar to the matzah eaten on Passover, and the 12 loaves are required by Biblical commandment to be on display inside the Temple sanctuary at all times. Cups of frankincense mixed with salt were placed on the bread.

And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. Leviticus 24:5

In the times of the Temple, Kohanim (men of the Jewish priestly caste) were separated into family groups that came to Jerusalem to serve in the Temple one week out of every year. The incoming group of priests would arrive on Friday to begin their service on the Sabbath. On Saturday afternoon, the outgoing priests would remove the showbread that had been on display for a week, replacing it with newly-baked bread.

The two Kohen families would then join together in a meal, eating the lechem panim that had just been replaced.

Half-Shekel Tithe for Building Temple Reinstated by Sanhedrin After 2,000 Years

After a 2,000 moratorium, it is now possible for a Jew anywhere in the world to perform the mitzvah (commandment) of paying the half-shekel, a Biblically-mandated tax incumbent on every Jew to finance the day-to-day operations of the Temple.

There are now two ways to perform this commandment: one method for people who can hand-deliver their offering, and another for those who can’t.

While the Temple was standing, every Jewish man was required to give one half-shekel weight of silver, approximately eight grams of silver (worth about $4 today), as a mandatory tax to support the Temple. Each man was obligated to give the same amount, regardless of his economic condition. The coins, once deposited in the Temple courtyard, were hekdesh (sanctified) and not permitted to be used for any other purpose.

The nation of Israel continued to observe the commandment even after the First Temple was destroyed until the practice was outlawed by Roman Emperor Hadrian in the year 135 CE. Even Jews who lived outside of Israel continued to donate the half-shekel, despite the Roman Senate forbidding the export of gold and silver.

Twenty years ago, Reuven Prager revived this mitzvah. He began minting silver coins that adhered to the Biblical requirements, producing a new and unique design every year. Those who wish to perform the mitzvah buy the silver coins from Prager, and then deposit them with Otzar Hamikdash (Treasury of the Temple), an organization set up to collect these coins.

Otzar Hamikdash duly deposits them with Brinks Security to await the Third Temple. To date, the organization has collected more than 200,000 coins.

In Temple Times, when it was incumbent on every Jew to make a triannual pilgrimage to Jerusalem, depositing the half-shekel tax was a simple matter. Today, when most Jews live in the Diaspora (outside of Israel), it is much more difficult.

For Jews outside of Israel, performing this mitzvah can be inconvenient or even impossible. The coin must be deposited with Otzar Hamikdash in their Jerusalem location. Currently, American law forbids the shipment of these coins to Israel. Prager has arranged collection points in the US but it is not always convenient.

The nascent Sanhedrin has instituted a way to revive the mitzvah to rebuild the Temple. Last September, in honor of counting the first complete year of the 50-year Jubilee cycle on Rosh Hashanah, the Sanhedrin issued a medallion which can be used in place of the actual silver coin to perform the mitzvah.

The biggest advantage of the Sanhedrin coin is that the medallion represents the half-shekel and is not considered sanctified. It therefore does not have to be physically deposited, but the funds are still dedicated for use in the Temple. The Sanhedrin and the Temple Movement hold reenactments of the ceremonies, training Kohanim, men of the priestly class, to accept the tithes. Funds raised from the Sanhedrin medallions are dedicated to priestly training and the recreating of special vessels and utensils for Temple use.

The Sanhedrin approves of Prager’s version of the half-shekel but saw a need that led to the creation of the medallion.

“The half-shekel was a tax intended to be used for a specific purpose,” Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the Sanhedrin, explained to Breaking Israel News. “As such, it was dynamic and not simply stored away. As the preparations for the Temple move forward, the need for that tax is reemerging.

“The medallion itself is not sanctified to the Temple, but any money raised by the medallion is sanctified and cannot be used for any other purpose.”

Rabbi Weiss described the Biblical precedents for such an arrangement. There were several cases of sanctified items, like tithes, that could be redeemed for 120 percent their value.

And if a man will at all redeem ought of his tithes, he shall add thereto the fifth part thereof. Leviticus 27:31

Similarly, people who could not bring their own sacrifices bought tokens in the Temple which were redeemed for the animal or grain that were actually used in the sacrifice. Until the return of the three yearly pilgrimage festivals in Jerusalem makes it possible to reinstate the practice of the half-shekel tax being hand-delivered by every Jew to the Temple, the Sanhedrin’s medallion is helping the Temple become a reality.

Rare Red Heifer Eligible for Third Temple Offering Found, And You Won’t Believe Where

“This is the statute of the law that the Lord has commanded: Tell the people of Israel to bring you a red heifer without defect, in which there is no blemish, and on which a yoke has never come.” Numbers 19:2 (The Israel Bible™)

A rabbi in a remote region of Mexico he went to a dairy farm to purchase milk, and was shocked when he saw a vital element of the Third Temple right in front of his eyes: a red heifer calmly chewing its cud under the Baja sun.

“I’ve grown up with the stories, so I know how rare and valuable the red heifer is,” Rabbi Benny “Bentsion” Hershcovich told Breaking Israel News. “I’ve never seen a red heifer and I never expected to see one. My heart literally jumped when I saw it.”

The red heifer, one of the most perplexing Torah commandments, is a necessary element for purifying Jews in order to enable them to do the service in the Temple.

And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of B’nei Yisrael for a water of sprinkling; it is a purification from sin. Numbers 19:9

Over the course of the approximately one thousand years the First and Second Temple stood, only nine Red Heifers were used in preparing the waters used to purify Jews. According to Jewish tradition, the tenth one will be used by the Messiah.

Rabbi Hershcovich is the emissary to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for Chabad, a branch of Hasidic Judaism which emphasizes the role of the Messiah. He works hard to serve the spiritual needs of the small Jewish community in Baja, but adhering to the extra-stringent Chabad customs regarding the preparation of food presents a challenge in the exotic locale.

“Even though we are in this far-flung region, we decided not to compromise on any of the kosher standards we held in Brooklyn,” Rabbi Hershcovich explained to Breaking Israel News. This adherence to ritual led him to a remarkable discovery illustrating that the Third Temple is very close indeed.

Rabbi Hershcovich’s kosher stringencies require that he personally oversee the milking for making his own dairy products. While visiting a Mexican farm, the rabbi looked up from the milking and was shocked to see a distinctively colored cow wandering among the herd: one which appeared completely red, without a blemish or spot.

Rabbi Hershcovich asked the farmer about the calf. The perplexed Mexican farmer explained that it had been born several months earlier, and that while the color was odd, he considered it to be “just another cow”. The farmer had never heard of the Biblical commandment and did not understand why the rabbi was so excited.

Though familiar with the concept of the red heifer – or para adumah in Hebrew – Rabbi Hershcovich felt unqualified to determine whether this particular cow fulfilled the Torah requirements. The laws pertaining to the red heifer are complex and a tiny blemish or a hair of the wrong color can render the cow unfit.

This is the statute of the law which Hashem hath commanded, saying: Speak unto B’nei Yisrael, that they bring thee a red heifer, faultless, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke. Numbers 19:2

“Regardless of its status, just seeing something that was an integral part of the Temple and Jewish history, was really magnificent,” the rabbi said. “I was mesmerized by this simple cow.”

A very few candidates for the red heifer have been found. Most have been disqualified due to blemishes or pregnancies. In an effort to reinstate the mitzvah (Torah commandment) of purifying with the red heifer’s ashes, the Temple Institute in Jerusalem last year imported embryos of red angus, a distinctly red breed of cow, and implanted them in Israeli cows at a farm in the Negev. Though several male cows were born, no reports of pure red heifers have been forthcoming.

Though it is unlikely the Baja bovine will become part of the Jewish Third Temple service, the random encounter had deeply spiritual meaning for Rabbi Hershcovich.

“It’s part of who we are and represents an important part of our future. Seeing it shows that our hope can be realized,” Rabbi Hershcovich said. “We always wonder if something we read in the news is the thing that will bring Moshiach. Seeing this red heifer in front of my eyes shows that it can indeed happen at any moment, in any location.”

Offerings for Third Temple Are Growing Today in Israel’s Forests

“I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia-tree, and the myrtle, and the oil-tree; I will set in the desert the cypress, the plane-tree, and the larch together.” Isaiah 41:19 (The Israel Bible™)

The nascent Sanhedrin is setting out to reinstate the Biblical Temple forest as part of their ongoing effort to bring the Third Temple into existence and has already begun planting around Israel to provide the agricultural needs of the Third Temple.

Rabbi Hillel Weiss, spokesman for the Sanhedrin, explained that the Temple was central to Israel as an agricultural nation strongly connected to its land. The Temple provided a link between the land, and the Divine.

“When people think about sacrifices, they think about animals and blood,” Rabbi Weiss said. “But most of the sacrifices were, in fact, from plants, grown around Israel.”

Many of the elements for the daily Temple service were agricultural and specific to the Temple. Semolina was frequently brought as a sacrifice with olive oil. The wine libation came from vines cultivated using a specific method. Rabbi Weiss pointed out that even some minor aspects of the Temple service required vast agricultural resources.

“The Mishna (Talmud) states that the Passover Lamb was roasted on a stick from a pomegranate tree,” noted Rabbi Weiss. “When the Temple is built, we will need millions of these sticks. Last week we planted 30 pomegranate trees, and this is clearly a very small step towards what we will need after the Temple is built.”

Ever-present on the altar were three piles of wood: the first for burning the animal sacrifices, the second for making coals to burn the incense, and the third for the perpetual altar fire commanded by the Bible.

And the fire upon the altar shall be burning in it; it shall not be put out: and the Kohen shall burn wood on it every morning. Leviticus 6:5

The wood used in these arrangements were considered sacrifices. In the Second Temple period, the wood was provided as an annual offering.

And we cast lots, the Kohanim, the Leviim, and the people, for the wood-offering, to bring it into the house of our God. Nehemiah 10:35

There are many different plants required for the Temple, each with its own special conditions. The Sanhedrin’s new Temple forests are dispersed around Israel to provide the specific conditions suitable for each plant. In the Hebron Hills, they planted 30 Cedars of Lebanon and several pomegranate trees. In Kochav Hashachar overlooking the Jordan Valley, they planted half an acre of grapevines surrounded by Cedars. In Shaarei Tikvah in Samaria, cinnamon trees, one of the 11 ingredients in the Temple incense, are ready to be planted. In Itamar, a vineyard of 200 vines has been dedicated to Temple use. Seven date palms were planted in the Western Negev for use in the Shavuot offering.

The Sanhedrin is also making efforts to plant in the site of the recently destroyed community of Amona as an expression of connection to the land.

“In Biblical times, planting trees was one of the ways ownership of the land was expressed, but for now, it will be an act of healing,” said Rabbi Weiss, quoting Ecclesiastes.

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted. Ecclesiastes 3:2

The idea of the Temple forest appears in the Bible, when Abraham planted a forest in Be’er Sheva.

And Avraham planted a tamarisk-tree in Be’er Sheva, and called there on the name of Hashem, the Everlasting God. Genesis 21:33

Later, when Jacob returned to Be’er Sheva, homiletical teachings on Genesis collected in the fifth century describe him visiting the forest his grandfather planted in order to take seedlings down to Egypt.

And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Be’er Sheva, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Yitzchak. Genesis 46:1

These seedlings grew into trees and plants that were used by the Nation of Israel when they built the tabernacle.

The arboreal needs of the Temple are mentioned again in the Book of Nehemiah, when a wood offering is brought to the Second Temple.

And we cast lots, the Kohanim, the Leviim, and the people, for the wood-offering, to bring it into the house of our God, Nehemiah 10:35

“The Temple, as a House of Prayer for all Nations, was meant as a tikkun (fixing) for the entire world,” said Rabbi Weiss. “Reinstating the plants in Israel dedicated to maintaining the Temple paves the way to fix the plants and ecology in other places, as well.”
