Yep - Secular Humanism has really been pushed, in a very subtle way, in our secular institutions.

How many times have we heard in school, "Be The Best That You Can Be!!!!"?

Another one that was repeated was "Believe in yourself."

No mention of God there.

Scientists claim to have found evidence of ALIEN LIFE: Balloon sent to edge of atmosphere picks up organisms ‘that can only have come from space’

Scientists found algae after sending a balloon into the stratosphere
Claim the algae could only have come from space or a volcanic eruption
This could provide evidence that the 'seeds of life' exist all over the Universe and travel from one planet to another via meteors

British scientists believe they have found evidence alien life after sending a balloon to the edge of space.

The team of scientists sent a balloon 27km into the stratosphere and captured small biological organisms they say can only have come from space.

The group, headed up by astrobiologist Professor Chandra Wickramasinghe, claims the 'seeds of life' have been transported between planets by passing meteors.

Professor Wickramasinghe, 74, and his team from the University of Sheffield sent a specially designed balloon into the atmosphere above Chester during the annual Perseid meteor shower.

The balloon was carrying sterile microscope slides which were only exposed to the atmosphere at heights of 27km.

When the balloon fell back down to Earth the scientists discovered microscopic aquatic algae on the microscope slides - which they say can only be alien life forms.

Their findings were published in a paper during the Instruments, Methods, and Missions for Astrobiology conference in San Diego, USA, last month.

Prof Wickramasinghe said: 'Biological entities of this nature have not previously been reported occurring in the stratosphere.

'The entities varied from a presumptive colony of ultra-small bacteria to two unusual individual organisms - part of a diatom frustule and a 200 micron-sized particle mass interlaced with biofilm and biological filaments.'

He said these findings were evidence for the theory of 'cometary panspermia'.

This states that the 'seeds of life' exist all over the Universe and travel through space from one planet to another.

Sceptics believe 'biological entities' captured in the stratosphere could have been carried high into the atmosphere from Earth - and not from space.

But Prof Wickramasinghe said: 'The biological entities found are particles of relatively large size and mass.

'By our current understanding of the means by which such particles can be transferred from Earth to the stratosphere they could not - in the absence of a violent volcanic eruption occurring within a day of the sampling event - make such a journey.

'If there is no mechanism by which these biological entities could be elevated from Earth to the stratosphere then it must have arrived from above the stratosphere and have been incoming to Earth.'

The Sri Lankan-born British mathematician, astronomer and astrobiologist is one of the leading proponents of the theory of cometary panspermia.

Panspermia is Greek for 'seeds everywhere'.

The panspermia theory states that seeds of life can be spread through space from one location to another. and that life on Earth may have originated through this process.

It requires meteors blasted from a planet’s surface serve to act as transfer vehicles for spreading biological material from one planet to another.

METEOR FOUND TO CONTAIN INGREDIENTS FOR LIFE

In a separate study, scientists have recently found never before seen material inside rock that crashed to Earth in California last year.

The discovery comes from an analysis of the Sutter's Mill meteorite, which lit up the California night sky with a dazzling fireball in April 2012.

Meteor fragments are rich in organic compounds – many of which are found in living organisms on Earth – and the newly discovered molecules could shed light on the origins of life on our planet.

Arizona State University, who undertook the study, claims the molecules likely formed several billion years ago in conditions similar to those on early Earth.

Douglas Adams was RIGHT! TINY ALIENS invaded Earth, say boffins

And were probably swallowed by a small dog

Aliens rained down on Earth from space, possibly sprinkling microbes on our once lifeless planet, according to boffins from the University of Sheffield.

And the scientists claim they managed to photograph one of the extraterrestrial blighters from a balloon.

The balloon was launched to a height of 27km, which the eggheads argue puts it above the usual height of any terrestrial microbes floating around the atmosphere. To collect the samples, the balloon was fitted with a drawer which could be opened and closed remotely. Once the balloon reached altitude, the boffins on the ground opened the drawer and let space gunk samples fall into it.

Careful cleaning of the sample drawer, along with a shield to prevent contamination from the balloon itself, means – so the scientists say – the microbes collected at that altitude must have come from space itself.

The study, published in the (get your pinch of salt ready) Journal of Cosmology [PDF, suspiciously easy to read], points out that organisms at 27km must have either floated up or fallen down to get to that height.

Crucially, for the “aliens from space” theory, the study's authors point out that the samples the balloon collected were too large to have floated up to such an altitude, where air pressure drops to a fraction of its level on the ground.

Volcanoes can, apparently, generate the required updraft but none were erupting in the three years prior to the July launch, which took place in Chester, north west England. This leaves us with the irrefutable conclusion that aliens are falling to Earth in huge numbers.

Panspermia, the theory that life on Earth originated from space, has various adherents, and it's true that life on our planet sprung up suspiciously quickly from randomly-mixed amino acids. But with a sample size of one it's impossible to tell if the Earth is typical, or a freak, the anthropic principle demands that Earth supports life (so we can be here to observe it, in brief) – but makes no such requirement anywhere else.

Monumental discoveries require monumental proofs, and one sample trip isn't enough. The team will repeat the process next month, and other teams will hopefully replicate their work. The report cites Occam's Razor while arguing that it's quite likely aliens fell on our heads; we reckon sample contamination remains the most obvious explanation for now.

Only repeated experimentation will establish if the Sheffield team really has found the ultimate source of life on Earth. We'll leave you with this quote from Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. ®

For thousands more years the mighty ships tore across the empty wastes of space and finally dived screaming on to the first planet they came across - which happened to be the Earth - where due to a terrible miscalculation of scale the entire battle fleet was accidentally swallowed by a small dog.

Apparently, this new "Gravity" movie may be predictive programming for the potential grand delusion of "aliens" making their debut. This Catholic news source gave it a rave review(Surprise!)...

http://www.ncregister.com/daily-news/sdg-reviews-gravity
SDG Reviews 'Gravity'

Sandra Bullock shines in Alfonso Cuarón’s mesmerizing action thriller in space, a rare Hollywood spectacle with a touch of spiritual awareness.

10/3/13

We see so many big-budget science-fiction spectacles —  so many painstakingly realized fantasy worlds and lavishly rendered alien landscapes and environments, inhabited by extravagantly imagined extraterrestrial species, with fantastic spacecraft and starships traveling through hyperspace and all manner of wormholes, nebulae and so forth.

Yet simple weightlessness, though no more exotic than the space shuttle, remains among the most fascinating, captivating effects in any Hollywood production of recent years.

It’s an effect put to mesmerizing use by Alfonso Cuarón in his action thriller Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as astronauts on a space walk that goes terribly wrong.

Gorgeous, nerve-racking, literally awesome, Gravity takes us to a world much nearer in both time and space than Duncan Jones’ Moon; nearer even than the layer of satellites that our mobile phones and GPS devices talk to every day: only about 350 miles away, in the low Earth orbit of the Hubble Space Telescope. Roughly the distance from Los Angeles to San Francisco — but oh, that’s far enough.

Far enough for the Earth to be, not a location, but a silent third character in what is largely a simple, relentless two-character survival story. The familiar blue-and-green orb looms large in the background or reflected in space-suit visors. It is home, a place of life, of human connection — so close, yet so inaccessible.

My family and I saw the IMAX documentary Hubble 3D a few years back, depicting the 2009 Atlantis space-shuttle mission to repair and upgrade the Hubble telescope. Not many live-action cinematic experiences need or benefit from the third dimension, but a documentary about astronauts is one that does.

Gravity, which starts with a mission of exactly this sort, also benefits from IMAX 3-D. The movie opens with Bullock’s Dr. Ryan Stone, an elite medical engineer and novice astronaut, and Clooney’s Matt Kowalsky, a veteran space monkey, equipping the telescope with some new gadgets. The imagery in Cuarón’s celebrated opening shot — a full 13 minutes with no visible cuts — feels very much of a piece with what I remember of Hubble 3D.

Yet there’s nothing documentary-like about this opening shot, or about Gravity generally, as there is at times about, say, Ron Howard’s Apollo 13.

The elaborately choreographed movements of the astronauts and the camera itself, gliding and roving around the space-suited figures, the shuttle and the telescope — alternating between tight close-ups, long shots and everything in between — is too artful, too obviously liberated from the limitations and exigencies of documentary filmmaking. (One might guess from Cuarón’s fluid camera that he’s not using a bulky, unwieldy 3-D camera, and one would be right: The film was effectively converted to 3-D in post-production.)

Stanley Kubrick achieved a remarkable semblance of zero gravity in 2001: A Space Odyssey, with rotating sets, actors on wires and an iconic shot of a floating pen taped to a large sheet of glass.

Apollo 13 used sequences filmed in real zero gravity in a set built inside NASA’s “vomit comet,” an aircraft that simulates the experience of space by climbing to high altitudes and then free-falling toward Earth for less than 30 seconds at a time, limiting the duration of individual takes (a technique obviously ill-suited for Cuarón’s penchant for long, continuous shots). In less expensive, less high-pressure shots, Howard’s actors bob realistically on swiveling teeter-totters manipulated by offscreen hands.

More recently, Christopher Nolan’s Inception included some very nice weightless effects in the hotel dream sequence. I’m not sure I can think of a live-action film since 2001, though, that has made such visually poetic use of weightlessness — or any previous non-documentary film with extended imagery of bodies floating in space that feels so effortless and persuasive.

Nowadays, of course, with computer graphics, we’re accustomed to the idea that filmmakers can put anything at all on the screen. Certainly Gravity makes extensive use of digital effects — and it shows. As astonishing as that opening shot is, one assumes it was assembled from a blend of multiple film elements and computer-generated imagery, with seams hidden through digital trickery.

And when catastrophe strikes, and Stone and Kowalsky are thrown into chaos, the scale of the disaster — and the graceful, inexorable physics of so many bits of debris spinning and flying in the weightless vacuum of space — could only be simulated in virtual space.

At times, Cuarón doesn’t even hide the trickery or try to make a shot feel like a real-world practical effect, as when his camera gently pushes through into Dr. Stone’s helmet during a crisis and then pushes back out again. (The sound design helps sell these transitions, as Bullock’s voice shifts from radio to natural and back to radio.)

Yet when Stone, at the end of an extended crisis, sheds her suit inside a space station, rotating in space in a fetal position as she recovers, then glides through the passages of the station, pushing off the walls, the effect is breathtakingly persuasive as well as beautiful. (Bullock wears a pixie cut that doesn’t betray the weight of her hair.)

Then there’s the almost unbearably vertiginous sequence in which the original crisis sends Stone spinning off into space. As she flips head over heels (in a manner of speaking, “over” having no meaning in space), sunlight and shadow play over her in relentless succession, every second a miniature day and night on the tiny planet (the root meaning of “planet” is “wanderer”) that is her body.

The crushing disorientation (but, of course, there’s no orient in space) and isolation in this sequence, in which Stone has no bearings except for a fleeting glimpse of the Earth every second or so, borders on the existential. Michael Collins, who orbited the moon by himself while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the moon’s surface, has stoutly denied ever feeling like “the loneliest man in the universe.” In this sequence, above all, Stone might be the loneliest woman in the universe.

In a sequence in a landing module, Stone contemplates a holy card depicting the patron of travelers, St. Christopher, reflecting that if she dies, “no one will pray for my soul.” This isn’t the concern of a pious believer, for she adds plaintively, “I’d say a prayer for myself … but no one ever taught me how.”

Later, there’s a sequence in a Chinese vessel with an analogous shot of a little smiling Buddha statue. To step out into the heavens, even for men of science, is an experience that awakens the human religious impulse or instinct, the thirst for transcendence, whatever one’s religious background or lack thereof.

The Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first human in space, is supposed to have said, “I don’t see any God up here.” However, the transcript of his conversations include no such remark, and a friend, Col. Valentin Petrov, has denied the pseudo-quotation, ascribing it to an anti-religious speech by Nikita Krushchev. (Gagarin was apparently, like Petrov, a practicing Orthodox Christian. See the documentary In the Shadow of the Moon for more perspective on God in space from astronauts.)

So many recent Hollywood films depicting characters facing crisis or bereavement have lacked any kind of religious awareness that these grace notes, minor as they are, are a welcome change. It’s fair to say that Stone’s isolation and disconnection (the screenplay makes her a bereaved mother) isn’t just physical, but personal, social, even spiritual. A return to Earth means perhaps a chance to reconnect with her own humanity, to be in a way born again.

Don’t get me wrong: Gravity is a popcorn action thriller, not a philosophical art film — as the movie-star presence of Bullock and Clooney, and the sometimes corny dialogue (screenplay by Cuarón and his son Jonás), never let us forget.

To that end, Clooney plays squarely to his strengths, providing mood relief as a bantering, self-deprecating pro whose drollery and flirting repartee mask a touching chivalry and even breathtaking heroism. Kowalsky knows it’s Stone’s mission, and Clooney knows it’s Bullock’s film; he does his job, no more and no less.

Bullock shines in a demanding role, projecting intelligence, desperation, vulnerability, angst and inner strength. Her novice status invites the viewer to identify with her, making the journey that much more harrowing.

Very few effects-driven movies in recent years have offered anything visually groundbreaking or novel. The ones that have — Avatar, Inception, Life of Pi — have done so through fantastic or surreal imagery. Gravity is something almost unheard of these days: a Hollywood spectacle that shows us something new, set in the universe we live in.

Russian military: 'Space troops not yet ready to fight aliens’

"Despite being called Russia’s space troops, they are not ready to deal with invasions by aliens from outer space, according to a statement by a Russian defense official.

In a surprising move, an apparently serious journalist raised this question of extraterrestrial security during a media conference at the Titov Main Test and Space Systems Control Center near Moscow, Russia’s main satellite control center.

“So far we are not capable of that. We are unfortunately not ready to fight extraterrestrial civilizations,” the center’s deputy chief Sergey Berezhnoy explained.

“Our center was not tasked with it. There are too many problems on Earth and near it,” he added.

Titov space center, which is run by Russia’s Aerospace Defense Troops, controls around 80 percent of the country’s satellite fleet, both military and civilian. It is also engaged in launches of spacecraft and strategic ballistic missiles. The facility located about 40km southwest of Moscow is manned by some 1,000 officers and soldiers.

Russia’s space troops, in their current form, were created in 2011 through the integration of several military branches responsible for anti-missile defense, strategic anti-aircraft warfare and control of outer space.

Among its facilities are an early ballistic missile launch warning center with a corresponding network of radar stations, a center for space surveillance, the Plesetsk Military Cosmodrome and a strategic missile testing range in Kura.

While they may not as yet be able to deal with an alien attack, Russia’s space troops at least have extremely effective and high tech means for dealing with terrestrial issues and threats."

These incredible sky lights look like alien spaceships coming to Earth

"It looks like a scene from Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but it's real—an awesome view of one of the weirdest sky phenomena you can watch from Earth, witnessed at the Levi ski resort, in the Finnish lapland.

The photos were taken by photographer Pauli Hänninen:

It was cold and very foggy, the temperature was around -10 degrees Celsius. It was down to the snow-making, as dozens if not hundreds of cannons were making the course for the World Cup and elsewhere. When the clouds began to break, there were rainbow colours in the sky and a halo spanning 360 degrees.

He captured a lunar halo combined with a full parhelic circle, two sundogs and a 120 parhelion, which you can see in the beautiful photo below (it's the glowing spot aligned with the parhelic circle.)

These types of events rarely happen together—the sun light needs to refract on millions of suspended hexagonal ice crystals under special meteorological conditions. Only on very rare occasions they all happen under the moon light. In this case, the crystals were produced by the snow machines in the ski station."

Alien or YouTubian? Intricate crop circle appears in California

12/30/13

Theories are cropping up to explain an intricate circular pattern discovered in a field of grass in California early Monday.

An aerial photographer spotted the giant crop circle in Salinas, Calif., from above on Monday.

“We were on a photo flight this morning and came across it," aerial photographer Julie Belanger told NBC News. "It was so unique in the middle of a field.”

Onlookers on the ground had to make do with climbing on their trucks on an adjacent street to try and get a better view, NBC affiliate KSBW reported.

“It looks like aliens to me," Manuel Madrid said from his vantage point.

But there were indications that the pranksters or artists were of earthly origin.

The MontereyHerald.com reported that guards from a South Bay security company were at the field Monday morning on behalf of a client whose identity they could not reveal.

Meantime, a YouTube video titled “Salinas Crop Circle Discovery” posted by user “Cannot Say” showed two men driving down the road at sunrise on Monday and then spotting a blinking green light in the field.

“Dude, this is a crop circle,” said one of the men after they ran toward the light and allegedly discovered the flattened grass.

For her part, Belanger said she doesn't know who's behind the circle, or what their intent was.

“I don't know what it is supposed to be ... but it is beautiful,” she said.

UFO sightings over northern California reported on New Year's Eve
http://www.ksla.com/story/24348090/ufo-sightings-over-northern-california-reported-on-new-years-eve
1/2/14

KXTV/CNN) – Apparently, it wasn't just fireworks lighting up the skies over northern California on New Year's Eve. Several people reported seeing mysterious flying objects.

Steven Brown watched it over Sacramento.

"Well, we saw it right through the trees," Brown said. "It was bright enough to shine directly through the trees without any problem seeing it."

Hans Mauth spotted it over Auburn.

"It kind of approached from over in that direction and came across kind of slow," Mauth said.

Did they see the same thing that Kaye Pinlac saw in Stockton?

"Pretty much right above this palm tree here," Pinlac said.

He says he captured multiple objects on his iPhone.

"I seen like six bright orange colored lights, Pinlac said. "And they were almost like in a diamond or triangle shape. It was weird. And so they started just separating."

And not just northern California, someone posted a video from the Hollywood Hills on Youtube of multiple glowing objects out there among the New Year's Eve fireworks.

In Auburn, Hans and his wife Terry saw it a few hours earlier than the other sightings.

"There was no sound," Terry Mauth said. "That's the funny thing."

"Or the lights, the usual lights," Hans Mauth said
.

"No sound, no blinking lights, just this big illuminated form," Terry Mauth said.

"And whatever it was moved up and to the left," Brown said. "It hovered there for probably about 60 seconds, and then it took off at a high rate of speed out of sight directly away from us and just disappeared
."

Of course, people look for a rational explanation for UFO sightings.

A 2008 sighting over the Sacrament Valley turned out to be an airplane with an electric sign under the wings.

A year later, it was determined that a mysterious flashing light near Placerville was arcing power lines.

There has yet to be a rational explanation for explanation for what people saw on New Year's Eve all across California.

Mystery of California Crop Circle May Never Be Solved
1/2/14
http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/trending-now/mystery-of-california-crop-circle-may-never-be-solved-180511798.html?vp=1

An intricate crop circle in California no longer exists after the owner whose land it was on ordered a crew to plow it under. But the Internet is still abuzz with whether the circle's construction came via a group of pranksters or something more inexplicable.

Scott Anthony owns a ranch  just outside of Chualar, Calif.  , about two hours south of San Francisco. When he returned from vacation earlier this week, he discovered that someone had plowed a design into his field. The Monterey Herald spoke with a security guard at the field, who said the circle appeared either Sunday or Monday morning. Spanning about an acre, the pattern appeared to contain the numbers 1, 9, and 2 in Braille, according to KSBW-TV.

Visitors began flocking to the site after a video was uploaded to YouTube Monday of two people driving by the field. Flashes of light are seen in the distance of the clip, shot before sunrise Monday morning. The cameraman and his friend pull the car over and head onto the farm, discovering the crop circle. As the two-and-a-half-minute piece ends, the pair allegedly encounter someone or something and decide to book it.

Julie Belanger captured the first aerial views of the field. She and her husband, Pat, flew overhead Monday and happened to catch a glimpse of the design.

"Flying through that area is not always very exciting, and then, all of a sudden, that thing's there," Belanger told the Herald.

The married couple owns the 111th Aerial Photography Squadron, specializing in overhead photos for real estate listings.

"It was beautiful," Belanger told KSBW. "I believe it's possible that aliens exist, but I don't know if they would bother making a crop circle to give us a message."

She isn't the only person skeptical of a paranormal explanation. The NBC affiliate reports that two separate people saw crews of up to 30 people walking around the field last weekend.

I really don’t get how people can still pretend like they don’t know where this comes from.

It was years ago when I saw a couple of guys demonstrating this on television using a 2x4 and piece of string. They fully admitted to the hoax.

But no. It’s a mystery. It’s got to be aliens doing it.

Maybe it’s just a mass voluntary suspension of disbelief so that people can be entertained by it.

What In the World Is This Weird Object On The Moon?

What you are about to see is extremely puzzling.  A very curious “mystery object” has been discovered on the Moon by a YouTube user that was using Google Earth.  I didn’t even know that Google had mapped the moon, but apparently they have.  What this individual found was a series of 7 “lights” that are arranged at a nearly perfect 90 degree angle.  Some have suggested that this weird object could be a spaceship or flying craft of some kind.  If it is, it is far larger than anything ever built on Earth.  Others have suggested that this could be the entrance to a base that is manned by either aliens or humans.  And of course there are yet others that believe that the 7 “lights” are just the result of errors caused by the digital zoom.  In the end, this is a mystery that will probably not be solved any time soon.  Unless we send someone up to the moon to take a closer look, there is no way to tell for sure what is going on up there.

The original YouTube video that started this frenzy about the “object on the moon” has been posted below.  Watch it and decide for yourself what you think it is…

If the “triangular anomaly” is really there, it seems logical that there is a decent chance that it was designed by an intelligent being or beings.

After all, you don’t look at a 747 sitting on a runway and think that it just got there by chance.  Well, you might believe such a thing if you buy into the fairy tale of Darwinian evolution, but rational people do not think that way.

So if that “anomaly” truly exists, someone may have put it there.

But who could have done such a thing?

The following is an excerpt from a recent Daily Mail article about this weird object…

Is it part of an alien spaceship nestled under the dust of the moon, or a secret moonbase occupied by humans?

Speculation has exploded over these controversial images which appear to show something unexplained on the surface of the moon.

The triangular anomaly, spotted on Google’s map of the moon, has rows of seven light-like dots along its edge that have been likened to an alien base or spaceship.

It can be found on the Google Moon viewer at coordinates 22042’38.46N and 142034’44.52E.

Of course the UFO community is full of speculation that “aliens” are the ones responsible for creating this triangular structure.  The following is how Tech and Gadget News described this object…

The gigantic shape actually looks like the leading edge of an immense, triangular space ship, similar to, so far, super secret Stealth aircraft technology, but is much larger than any airplane ever built on Earth.

The regularly spaced, circular promontory shapes which make up the seven points on the perfectly formed triangle wedge seem to be intelligently designed.

To date, no other feature has ever been discovered which matches this shape on the Moon, or any other planet observed by satellite or exploratory rover.

The anomaly is so huge, it’s possible it is some sort of moon base used as a facility for storing and launching alien “UFO” spacecraft.

But, if this highly irregular feature of the moonscape is proven to be engineered by intelligent minds, is it possible it could be some kind of secret area built by humans?

What makes all of this even more intriguing is that the exact same YouTube user that made this video says that there is a very similar structure under the ice in Antarctica.  You can find that video right here.

But before you get too excited, there is always the possibility that this could just be a giant hoax.  Just consider what one expert recently told the Huffington Post about this anomaly…

“Basically it’s similar to the thing you get in all those ‘UFO videos’ you see these days from people with digital cameras – when they use digital zoom too much, you get ‘artifacts’ as the missing data is recreated using an algorithm which create regular shapes simply because of the nature of digital.”

So what is the truth?

In this case, I have absolutely no idea.  This could be an absolutely mind blowing discovery or it could be absolutely nothing.  As I mentioned above, to find out more we would really need to send someone up to the surface of the moon to investigate, but that is not likely to happen for a very, very long time.

And of course others have been claiming that there are even greater “anomalies” on the dark side of the moon for years.  Just check out this article, this article, this article and this article.

GOOGLE, because they are so trust worthy. If this is a real anomaly it should be easily verifiable with modern telescopes.

Yeah, the source is key. I admit that Google Earth can be a handy tool, but it has it's limits, especially knowing how people like to place things like "Easter eggs" for kicks. Programmers have been doing it since there was code to write. Same with media artists placing their little hidden mark amongst the pixels. That said, and a TON of skepticism, what I wonder is what does it say that somebody has enough time to sit around and search Google Moon for strange objects? Hmm.

Obama Appoints UFO Disclosure Advocate Into Administration: Signs of Something To Come?

John Podesta was recently appointed as councillor to Barack Obama.(1)(2) The 64 year old former chief of staff to the Clinton administration will be dipping into matters that range from energy, to food safety and border enforcement, and who knows, possibly UFO disclosure?  According to the Washington Post, Podesta is “one of the Democratic Party’s most seasoned political and policy operatives.”(2)  He is also the founder of the Center for American Progress (CAP), a leading democratic public policy organization. Many people are starting to believe that democrats and republicans are just two wings of the same bird, and that the flight path doesn’t change. I echo this belief, but this appointment did gain my attention given the fact that John Podesta is an advocate for UFO disclosure.

In 2002, Podesta spoke at a news conference held at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., where he urged the U.S. government to declassify UFO documents that are more than 25 years old.

“I’m skeptical about many things, including the notion that government always knows best, and that the people can’t be trusted with the truth. The time to pull the curtain back on this subject is long overdue. We have statements from the most credible sources – those in a position to know – about a fascinating phenomenon, the nature of which is yet to be determined.” – John Podesta (taken from Leslie Kean’s 2010 New York Times bestseller, “UFOs: Generals, Pilots, And Government Officials Go On The Record,” where Podesta wrote the forward)

“I think it’s time to open the books, on questions that have remained in the dark on the question of government investigations of UFOs, it’s time to find out what the truth really is that’s out there. We ought to do it because it’s right, we ought to do it because the American people, and people around the world quite frankly can handle the truth, and we ought to do it because it’s the law.”- John Podesta (Taken from the video below)

“It is time for the government to declassify records that are more than 25 years old, and to provide scientists with data that will assist in determining the real nature of this phenomenon”. – Johan Podesta (3)

The conference below was organized by the Coalition for Freedom of Information. Last month, TIME magazine listed five topics that Podesta and Obama haven’t agreed on. These include drone secrecy, NSA spying, Afghanistan, the American Political System ,and UFOs.

I have a question...

When I was taking my dog out for a walk 20-30 years ago, there were 2 very old, albeit very friendly/gentle looking men that wanted to pet my dog. However, not only did my dog just back away, but when I tugged on her leash(to encourage her letting her know that the 2 men were friendly), she just resisted.

For the most part, my dog never cared for people. She would let them pet her, but she rarely showed affection back. However, rarely would she act scared and shy like this(like said above, when I tugged on her leash, she really resisted, and was surprised b/c it was just a couple of old, gentle folks).

Pt I'm trying to ask is that can dogs and animals see in the "spirit world"? If so, could it have been possible if those 2 elderly men were demonic spirits disguised as human beings? I've always wondered these things.

Seeing that demons were cast out of a man and went into a herd of pigs, I think that indicates that animals, or at least some of them, can be aware of an evil presence, because what did the swine do once possessed? Ran off a cliff, basically committing suicide.

That said, dog owners have reported for likely as long as dog and man has hung out together, that dogs can sense "bad" people. Many people will gauge their relationships with others based on how their dog reacts to strangers. All I will say is that I pay attention to my dog when he gets uneasy or anything that shows him to be uncomfortable. Just pay attention to the animal, watch how it does things, and it will "tell" you things, just like Jesus says to watch the fouls of the air.

Consider that a dog has no agenda. It's reasoning is very basic. They want to be with their owners, and they look out for their owners as each dog is able, with some being very intelligent, but they have personalities too, so some are very brave, while others are cowards and timid around people and other animals. I think just comparing how the animal normally acts to how it acts around others will tell you a lot of what the dog thinks of the situation but I see it as a very general thing, as it's hard to be sure just what is spooking the animal.

If your animal reacts negatively, like he doesn't like something, take it as a warning sign that you need to pay attention. Until you have further details, it's hard to say just what needs attention, if anything.

It could have been nothing more than the old folks were wearing some kind of lotion or some smell that was offensive to your dog. Maybe he could smell the cats they own, who knows.

Can dogs sense evil in a person? No scripture specifically comes to mind, but enough is there in my opinion to suggest that yes, animals can sense evil intent in a person, in my opinion.

Vatican Astronomers Ramp Up Their Search For “Brother Extraterrestrial”

Why in the world is the Vatican searching for extraterrestrial life?  Does the Catholic hierarchy know something about alien life that the rest of us do not?  Why is the largest religious organization on the planet spending so much time and energy looking for “brother extraterrestrial”?  Earlier this month, the Vatican Observatory cosponsored a major conference on extraterrestrial life that brought together 200 of the leading astrobiologists in the world.  One of the organizers stated that one of the goals of the conference was to figure out “how we can find life among the stars within the next two decades“.  Certainly it would not be unusual for a group of astronomers and astrobiologists to get together and discuss such things.  But why is the Vatican seemingly obsessed with this stuff?  As you will see below, there are some high profile Vatican astronomers that seem quite confident that “something” is out there.  In fact, one has stated that once it is revealed, “everything we think we know” may have to “be thrown out”.

Normally, a conference that brings together several hundred scientists is not going to make headline news.  What makes this one different is the involvement of the Vatican.  The following is how this conference was described on NASA’s website…

Motivated by the rapidly increasing number of known Earth-sized planets, the increasing range of extreme conditions in which life on Earth can persist, and the progress toward a technology that will ultimately enable the search for life on exoplanets, the Vatican Observatory and the Steward Observatory announce a major conference entitled The Search for Life Beyond the Solar System: Exoplanets, Biosignatures & Instruments.

The goal of the conference is to bring together the interdisciplinary community required to address this multi-faceted challenge: experts on exoplanet observations, early and extreme life on Earth, atmospheric biosignatures, and planet-finding telescopes.

In recent years, the Vatican has really taken a position of leadership in the search for extraterrestrial life.  The current head of the Vatican Observatory, José Gabriel Funes, does not believe that there is any conflict between his faith and his search for life beyond this world…

José Gabriel Funes, an Argentine Jesuit priest and astronomer, and the current director of the Vatican Observatory says there is no conflict between believing in God and in the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations perhaps more evolved than humans.

“In my opinion this possibility exists,” said the Reverend José Gabriel Funes, current director of the Vatican Observatory and a scientific adviser to Pope Benedict XVI, referring to life on other planets.

In fact, Funes sounds quite optimistic about the possibility of finding “brother extraterrestrial” someday…

Asked if he was referring to beings similar to humans or even more evolved than humans, he said: “Certainly, in a universe this big you can’t exclude this hypothesis.”

“Just as there is a multiplicity of creatures on earth, there can be other beings, even intelligent, created by God. This is not in contrast with our faith because we can’t put limits on God’s creative freedom. Why can’t we speak of a ‘brother extraterrestrial’? It would still be part of creation.”

Funes, who runs the observatory that is based south of Rome and in Arizona, held out the possibility that the human race might actually be the “lost sheep” of the universe. There could be other beings “who remained in full friendship with their creator,” he said.

Wow.

So Funes is actually suggesting that when we do encounter extraterrestrial beings, they may not have fallen into sin like humanity has.

The implications of this are staggering.  Just check out what researcher Tom Horn recently had to say about this…

This is an argument that they continue to make and they’re becoming more and more adamant about it, that what we know about ourselves is that we are fallen, right? But we cannot necessarily assume the same thing about our space brethren, and if they’re unfallen, they’re closer to God than we are. Therefore they have a better understanding of the Gospel and of the Godhead and of the nature of God. And when they started out three years ago, Funes was saying “I’d like to baptize an alien into the Catholic faith.” Well that’s not what they’re saying today. What they’re saying now is that they [aliens] are coming here and they’re going to baptize us into their faith and it is going to require us to make changes to our knowledge, to our understanding, of the Gospel. In fact, some of their deepest theologians have said, “Perhaps everything we think we know about the Gospel is going to have to be thrown out.”

Another prominent Vatican astronomer, Guy Consolmagno, has publicly suggested that aliens could actually be the “saviors of humankind“…

Captivating comments from Jesuit priests like Guy Consolmagno—a leading astronomer who often turns up in media as a spokesman for the Vatican who has worked at NASA and taught at Harvard and MIT and who currently splits his time between the Vatican Observatory and laboratory (Specola Vaticana) headquartered at the summer residence of the Pope in Castel Gandolfo, Italy, and Mt. Graham in Arizona. Over the last few years, he has focused so much of his time and effort in an attempt to reconcile science and religion in public forums specifically as it relates to the subject of extraterrestrial life and its potential impact on the future of faith that we decided to contact him. He agreed to be interviewed from Rome, and over the numerous exchanges that followed he told us some things that seemed beyond the scope. He even sent us a copy of a private pdf, a literal goldmine of what he and the Vatican are considering regarding the ramifications of astrobiology and specifically the discovery of advanced extraterrestrials… in which he admits how contemporary societies will soon “look to The Aliens to be the Saviours of humankind.”

So if aliens showed up and wanted to show us a “new way”, would society be willing to accept it?

Well, the truth is that even **** atheist Richard Dawkins is willing to theorize that aliens could have “seeded” life on this planet…

So what would happen someday if “aliens” showed up and claimed that they seeded life on this planet, guided our evolution and are now here to lead us into a new golden age?

And what would happen if the Catholic Church gave those aliens their stamp of approval?

That sounds absolutely bizarre, but there are very important Vatican officials that are apparently thinking very hard about these things.

Richard Dawkins admits to intelligent design? If memory serves, even these "religious right" leaders like Jerry Falwell supported it too(and Bush II pushed it in public schools).

Vatican Astronomers - Prepare For 'Brother Extraterrestrial'

Vatican astronomers have reportedly been working towards locating extraterrestrial life. Earlier in March, the Vatican Observatory cosponsored a major conference on extraterrestrial life that brought together 200 of the leading astrobiologists in the world.

One of the organizers stated that one of the goals of the conference was to figure out “how we can find life among the stars within the next two decades.” Some high profile Vatican astronomers seem quite confident that “something” is out there.

The question that comes to mind is why this level of interest from the Vatican: Is there something they know that the general public isn’t aware of? Why are they taking a lead role in areas that are not within the traditional Catholic scope or domain?

José Gabriel Funes, an Argentine Jesuit priest and astronomer, and the current director of the Vatican Observatory says there is no conflict between believing in God and in the possibility of extraterrestrial civilizations perhaps more evolved than humans: “Just as there is a multiplicity of creatures on earth, there can be other beings, even intelligent, created by God. This is not in contrast with our faith because we can’t put limits on God’s creative freedom.

Why can’t we speak of a ‘brother extraterrestrial’? It would still be part of creation… There could be other beings “who remained in full friendship with their creator.” Another prominent Vatican astronomer, Guy Consolmagno, has publicly suggested that aliens could actually be the “saviors of humankind”.

Truth Wins recently reported the NASA viewpoint of Vatican interest from their website description: Motivated by the rapidly increasing number of known Earth-sized planets, the increasing range of extreme conditions in which life on Earth can persist, and the progress toward a technology that will ultimately enable the search for life on exoplanets, the Vatican Observatory and the Steward Observatory announce a major conference entitled The Search for Life Beyond the Solar System: Exoplanets, Biosignatures & Instruments.

The goal of the conference is to bring together the interdisciplinary community required to address this multi-faceted challenge: experts on exoplanet observations, early and extreme life on Earth, atmospheric Biosignatures and planet-finding telescopes.

Truth Wins also reports researcher Tom Horn saying that “ What they (the Vatican astronomers) are saying now is that they [aliens] are coming here and they’re going to baptize us into their faith and it is going to require us to make changes to our knowledge, to our understanding, of the Gospel. In fact, some of their deepest theologians have said, “Perhaps everything we think we know about the Gospel is going to have to be thrown out.”

Which is quite an alarming statement, given the Biblical warnings given by the Apostle Paul to the Galatians: “But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed (Galatians 1:8,9).

Tom Horn further asks: “Could it be that the world is far hungrier than I thought to usher in the Man of Sin? The ultimate “fixer” of our nations? And furthermore, would it ever truly be in God’s will for the human race to transcend to some higher level where we no longer need His direct intervention through personal relationship and prayer, but the intervention of another superior being? These alien contact agendas would not surprise me if coming only from the scientific community, but from a body of people whose primary focus and claim is to be God-fearing?”

Tom also quotes the works of select individuals within the Roman Catholic church who perpetuate the idea that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is a descendant of alien life and that Mary’s virgin birth was a direct result of an alien abduction scenario. Perhaps a suggestion that Jesus Christ was a descendant of the Nephilim; however irrespective of the intended suggestion or conclusion, these ideas are clearly blasphemous and heretical – worst of all, coming from supposed representatives of Biblical doctrine and truth.

Further, in an article for openminds.tv about a year back, Jason McClellan wrote: “ A new book claims that Vatican astronomers are looking for extraterrestrials. And they are using LUCIFER to do it. Although it shares the same name as Christianity’s fallen angel and the personification of evil, LUCIFER is an instrument attached to a telescope.

As Popular Science explains, LUCIFER is an acronym for the instruments lengthy title, “Large Binocular Telescope Near-infrared Utility with Camera and Integral Field Unit for Extragalactic Research.” This instrument is attached to the University of Arizona’s Large Binocular Telescope (LBT) located on Mt. Graham in south eastern Arizona. The Vatican-owned Vatican Advanced Technology Telescope (VATT) is right next door.”

Against this backdrop readiness to accept extra-Biblical sources of information from “aliens” and to even “throw out the gospel”- how likely is the coincidence that the telescope would accidentally be acronymed “LUCIFER?”

Michael Snyder raises the questions: “So if aliens showed up and wanted to show us a “new way”, would society be willing to accept it?....what would happen someday if “aliens” showed up and claimed that they seeded life on this planet, guided our evolution and are now here to lead us into a new golden age? And what would happen if the Catholic Church gave those aliens their stamp of approval?”

Perhaps the Vatican astronomers should start looking at the Bible first for those answers. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 would be a good starting point:

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Bill Clinton on aliens: ‘If we were visited some day I wouldn’t be surprised’

Bill Clinton says we may not be alone.

During an appearance on ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday, the 42nd president was pressed by host Jimmy Kimmel about whether he saw any classified information while in office proving the existence of aliens. While Clinton said he had “all the Roswell papers reviewed” and found no clear evidence that aliens exist, he also said he wouldn’t be shocked if intelligent life exists outside our planet or even if extraterrestrials one day visit Earth.

“We know now we live in an ever expanding universe,” Clinton said. “We know there are billions of stars and planets literally out there — and the universe is getting bigger. We know from our fancy telescopes that just in the last two years more than 20 planets have been identified outside our solar system that seem to be far enough away from their suns — and dense enough — that they might be able to support some form of life.”

“So it makes it increasing less likely that we’re alone,” he continued.

“Oh, you’re trying to give me a hint that there are aliens,” Kimmel quipped in response.

“No, I’m trying to tell you I don’t know,” Clinton replied. “But if we were visited some day, I wouldn’t be surprised. I just hope that it’s not like ‘Independence Day,’ the movie — that it’s, you know, a conflict.”

I'm not so sure. Considering the way the President is treated with "national secrets", it's possible the president may not be told the truth about certain government operations. Government, particularly the military, they have a "need to know" kind of policy. Many in government have no idea what all is going on in government.

Bill Clinton: An Alien Invasion “May Be The Only Way To Unite This Increasingly Divided World”

Would contact with a race of aliens be enough to fully unite humanity?  Would it cause all of us to drop our bitter quarrels and come together as one?  That is apparently what former president Bill Clinton believes.  On Jimmy Kimmel Live the other night, Clinton said that an alien invasion “may be the only way to unite this increasingly divided world of ours”.  He also said that “if we were visited someday, I wouldn’t be surprised”.  So does he know something that the rest of us don’t?  And why is he sharing this now?  In recent years, the general public has been primed for the possibility of contact with aliens.  There has been an endless barrage of books, movies, television shows and video games that portray human contact with extraterrestrials.  It has gotten to the point where even some of the most **** skeptics in our society seem quite eager to embrace the possibility of extraterrestrial contact.  Is this a good thing, or could the truth be that we are being set up for a great deception of historic proportions?

Appearances by major political figures on late night talk shows are usually highly scripted.  So it seemed odd that Jimmy Kimmel would ask Bill Clinton about UFOs.  Is that something that Clinton actually wanted to talk about?  When Kimmel asked his questions, Clinton seemed quite prepared with his answers.  Among other things, he told Kimmel that “the differences among people of Earth would seem small” if we were to be suddenly confronted with contact by extraterrestrials…

The former president said on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Wednesday that an invasion by extraterrestrials might be the best way to unite the fractious countries of our war-wracked planet.

“It may be the only way to unite this increasingly divided world of ours … think about all the differences among people of Earth would seem small if we feel threatened by a space invader. That’s the whole theory of ‘Independence Day,’” he said, referring to the hit 1996 sci-fi disaster flick.

“Everybody gets together and makes nice.”

I have posted video of Bill Clinton telling Jimmy Kimmel these things below…

This is absolutely stunning.

Back in 1987, President Ronald Reagan made a similar statement.  He told the United Nations General Assembly the following…

“I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside of this world.”

At that time, a belief in “aliens” was usually ridiculed.

Just think how much has happened since that time to help prepare humanity for alien contact.

Not only have we been primed to think that it could happen someday – we have been primed to expect that it will happen someday.

In fact, according to a survey conducted by National Geographic, 77 percent of all Americans already “believe there are signs that aliens have visited Earth”.

But only 68 percent of all Americans believe that Jesus is God or the Son of God.

That means that more Americans believe that UFOs have visited us than believe what the Bible has to say about Jesus Christ.

At this point, even the most **** “skeptics” in our society seem absolutely primed for extraterrestrial contact.

Just consider celebrity atheist Neil deGrasse Tyson, the host of the new Fox series “Cosmos” A Spacetime Odyssey”.  He appears very open to the possibility that aliens have visited us or may visit us in the future.  In fact, he has joked that aliens may be avoiding open contact with us because they can’t detect any sign of intelligent life on this planet…

“I wonder if, in fact, we have been observed by aliens and upon close examination of human conduct and human behavior they have concluded that there is no sign of intelligent life on Earth”.

And celebrity atheist Richard Dawkins seems very open to the possibility that life on earth may have been “intelligently designed” by aliens.  Just check out this video.

Alternatively, the Vatican also appears to be extremely interested in the search for extraterrestrial life.  Vatican astronomers speak excitedly about the possibility of contact with “brother extraterrestrial“, and one has even suggested that aliens could “be the Saviours of humankind“.

It seems like almost everyone is looking up at the stars, hoping for contact with other lifeforms.

And with each passing day, even more “UFO videos” and “alien videos” are posted to YouTube.  Certainly many of them are fakes, but is that true for all of them?  It has gotten to the point where there are millions upon millions of people out there that claim that they have either personally seen a UFO or have had contact with an alien being.  With each passing decade, this type of activity seems to become even more frequent.

So what is it all leading up to?

All over the world, our technology is capturing images of these “UFOs” and “aliens”.  The following is one video from Mississippi that I discovered just today…

Most people out there seem to have the hope that when we do make contact with aliens, that they will come in peace.

And there are many, including Bill Clinton, that seem to believe that contact with extraterrestrial life will finally be the moment that unites the entire world.

But there are others that have studied these things intensely for many years that are deeply, deeply concerned about the agenda of these “aliens”.  For instance, Temple University Professor Dr. David Jacobs has been studying the alien abduction phenomenon for more than 30 years, and he has developed “a tremendous sense of concern about the future” based on what he has discovered…

But I must say that now that I’ve learned as much as I have learned, and I think I’ve learned an awful lot, I am very, very unsettled and upset by what I see. I don’t like what I see. I wish I didn’t see this. I wish I hadn’t uncovered this. I despair of it. It’s thrown me into a tremendous sense of concern about the future and unease. I just don’t like it very much. I wish I did. I don’t want to be this way. I don’t want to be the bearer of bad news. I could not have ever imagined that I would come to this position. What I’m seeing now, what I’ve found with the phenomenon, I could never have imagined.

So what do you think?

Do you believe that we will make contact with “extraterrestrial life” someday?

If we do, will that be good or bad?

In recent years, the general public has been primed for the possibility of contact with aliens.  There has been an endless barrage of books, movies, television shows and video games that portray human contact with extraterrestrials.

I was flipping channels last night, and caught like a couple of minutes of a movie(made 2 years ago) over a group of friends in a neighborhood who find out "aliens" are living among them. They ran into a "good" alien, and he pretty much told them their "agendas"(saying how before they made their "invasion", they were "spying out" on them).

Yeah, Hollywood movies with alien/Nephilim plots have increased 3-fold since the 21st century, albeit in a lot of flavors.

Yesterday, both my dad and I talked about David Letterman's retirement next year. Letterman has all but admitted that he no longer can appeal to young people anymore(he became popular 30 years ago b/c of just that) - guess the Millenials don't find him appealing like the Gen Xers did 30 years ago.

Pt being that while those being put in the national spotlight(ie-night-time talk shows) like Jimmy Kimmel is no coincidence - they're finding people(like Kimmel) who appeal to this very Millenial generation, and subsequently these agendas are being pushed on them(and subsequently to the rest of the demographics) with more ease. No, I'm not saying all Millenials are bad(like said, we have a couple of them here that are staunch KJB believers), but for the most part. Look how Millenials are buying into abortion and sodomy marriage like they're moral, for example.

Pope says baptism for all - even Martians

Pope Francis has declared everyone has the right to be baptised, even aliens should they come knocking on the church's door.

Christians cannot "close the door" to all those who seek baptism even if they are "green men, with a long nose and big ears, like children draw," the pope said at his daily mass on Monday, according to Vatican Radio.

"If tomorrow, for example, an expedition of Martians arrives and some of them come to us ... and if one of them says: 'Me, I want to be baptised!', what would happen?" Francis said in another display of his lively sense of humour.

The Argentine pontiff known for his down-to-earth style has often used colourful and humorous expressions to make his points on the direction of the Roman Catholic Church.

On baptism Francis has stressed that it should not be refused, especially to children whose parents may be breaking Church rules such as living together as an unmarried couple.

"Astronomers are stunned by mysterious radio frequencies being heard from outside the Milky Way.  In fact, they are baffled!

It was recently confirmed that these frequencies are not instrument glitches, as they had previously thought.  The strange signals come from nowhere, and occur for a few milliseconds at a time.  The first one was detected in 2007, but only a very small amount have occurred since.  This latest discovery was made this year, in April; however, they are still just as baffled by its origin as they were then.

In 2007 a radio burst was picked up by astronomer Duncan Lorimer and his team. The origin of the signal could be colliding neutron stars or possibly an alien message. This image shows the dispersed signal from the original millisecond radio burst that suggests it must have originated billions of light-years away  (Mail Online)

According to National Geographic:

If astronomers are interpreting the bursts’ dispersion measures correctly, then the bursts came from billions and billions of light-years away – in other words, they’re nowhere near our cosmic neighborhood. And nobody knows what they are.

“The sources of the bursts are undoubtedly exotic by normal standards,” Cornell University astronomer Jim Cordes wrote in Science.

There are a number of explanations, from colliding neutron stars to alien signals.

According to Nigel Watson, author of the UFO Investigations Manual, “This extraordinary finding either indicates an as yet unknown or unusual astronomical phenomenon, or it could indicate that this is a vast alien communication network, and the universe is teeming with intelligent life forms.”

He further added, “Every unusual signal from outer space encourages us to wonder if it is from an alien civilisation. Since this signal seems so elusive and hard to interpret then this should be a candidate for further analysis. It would be fantastic if this was an alien signal as the knowledge that we are not alone in this vast universe would have a dramatic impact on our perception of our place in the scheme of things.”

Although further studies must take place to determine the origin of these phenomena, no theory can be tossed out the window at this time…and alien signals is definitely not out of the question!

“The discovery of fast radio bursts at the Parkes Observatory, if confirmed at other observatories, would be a monumental discovery, comparable to that of cosmological gamma-ray bursts and even pulsars,” Shrinivas Kulkarni, an astronomer at Caltech, told Scientific American at the time."  — National Geographic

Astrobiologists testify before Congress that alien life will be encountered by 2034

This past week, a few scientists took the bench and gave the U.S. Congress a relative date by which they expect we’ll have discovered signs of intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. According to their estimates, by 2034 we should make first contact or 30 years ahead of Star Trek’s first contact. Whether this was just a stunt, a ploy meant to convince Congress to up SETI’s budget, or a genuine estimate is difficult to tell.
Aliens: we’ll find them soon enough

The claim was made during a hearing of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology. Astronomers shuffled in front of the US officials and assured them that aliens would be found in the near future.

“At least a half-dozen other worlds besides Earth that might have life are in our solar system. The chances of finding it, I think, are good, and if that happens, it’ll happen in the next 20 years, depending on the financing,” said Seth Shostak, a renowned astrobiologist.

Depending on the financing, indeed. Shostak is a Senior Astronomer at the SETI Institute, an agency tasked with finding out about the existence of intelligent life anywhere in the universe by discovering radio signals which have artificial origin from outer space. The project was first launched in 1984 with great enthusiasm, following popular interest for extraterrestrial entities after movies like E.T. and Alien swept the globe. Today, SETI has a budget of only $1 million and was nearly shut down and would have been were it not for the support of thousands who donated to keep SETI alive.

With this in mind, I have to admit I was astonished to read Shostak’s statement, but how far off is he really? What Shostak and his colleagues at SETI are actually trying to point out is that given our current rate of technological advancement, it will only be a matter of time until we manage to pick up extraterrestrial signals. The next generation of supercomputers and telescopes will definitely aid in attaining this objective, and recent discoveries by the now famous Kepler telescope have been more than encouraging. Thanks to Kepler we now have a much better and broader understanding of the Universe. We know for instance that there are innumerable Earth-like planets that orbit stars in a habitable zone.

“Recent analyses of Kepler data suggest that as many as one star in five will have a habitable, Earth-size planet in orbit around it,” Shostak told the lawmakers. “This number could be too large by perhaps a factor of two or three, but even so it implies that the Milky Way is home to 10 to 80 billion cousins of Earth.”

SETI certainly is currently equipped for the job, with its deployment of Arecibo’s 305-meter telescope, the largest in the world, and throughout the entire year Arecibo’s 305-meter telescope scans the cosmos for signals from alien civilization. With only 1$ million funding a year, however, one can only wonder how the staff manages to survive, let alone have time and energy to search for aliens. Shostak hopes that by investing in SETI now, we will be able to take advantage of our dramatically increased computing power to tune into a very distant talk show or whatever it is that aliens might have broadcast at one point.

“It’s unproven whether there is any life beyond Earth…I think that situation is going to change within everyone’s lifetime in this room,” Shostak said.

Russians Make Major UFO Disclosure Statement, Aliens Are Real

"According to this information the Russians have known about alien civilizations for several decades, to many this comes as no surprise, there have been rumors floating around for many years. Well respected military and government scientist have been trying to speak out on this issue for sometime now. In the vast majority of cases the mainstream media either treats this like a non event, or they treat it like the information is coming from very unreliable sources. This information is a big step in disclosure process for mankind.

In Soviet times, the Ministry of Defense was working on a secret project aimed at creating a superhuman with paranormal abilities. Under this project, a group of scientists managed to get in touch with a foreign(read alien) civilization. The head of this top-secret project shared some details with reporters for the first time.

On a regular winter day in Moscow, in the comfort a room with a fireplace, journalists were given a real sensation. A senior retired official of the Ministry of Defense, lieutenant-general in reserve, PhD, a fellow of the Academy of Natural Sciences Alexey Savin said that in the late 1980′s a group of researchers from the Expert Management Unit of General Staff managed to make a contact with representatives of another civilization.

Interestingly, none of the journalists were particularly surprised but, rather, relieved with the “confession.

Vasily Yeremenko, a Major General of FIB in reserve, academician of the Academy of Security, Defense and Law Enforcement, was the first to speak to the press. In Soviet times he served in the KGB and supervised the Air Force and development of aviation technology.

Among his assignments was collection of information by the Air Force of the facts of appearance of unidentified flying objects. According to Vasily Yeremenko, by that time there was an ample amount of such information."
