The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. I wouldn't worry too much about this one. I doubt those two nations could form a proper treaty with out the Antichrist's help. And John Kerry is not the Antichrist, he is a antichrist though. Heck i give the talks just a couple more days another week at the most before it breaks down, again...

Kerry's a Skull and Bones alum to boot - it wasn't too long ago when he played his part throwing the 2004 election to his S&B buddy W. Bush, now fast-forward a decade later, he's Secretary of State acting as a figurehead in this(No, I don't think he's the AC either).

But nonetheless, from a lot of what I've read, they've made quite a bit of progress on this for the first time in at least 5 or so years(the last year when W. Bush was in office). You're right though, it may not mean much b/c it could very well break down(again) in the near future.

Knesset endorses withdrawal referendum bill

During stormy debate, Netanyahu takes the lectern to respond to MK who implies Arabs will outlast Jews in Israel

By Times of Israel staff August 1, 2013, 3:59 am

The Knesset early Thursday morning approved the first reading of a bill that requires a public referendum on any future peace deal with the Palestinians that would have Israel give up sovereign territory. The vote, 66 in favor and 45 against, was the last of the parliament’s summer session and followed a long night of marathon readings.

The bill covers all of Israel, the Golan Heights, and East Jerusalem, but does not relate to the West Bank, which was never annexed by Israel. It coincides with the resumption of long-dormant peace talks between Israel and the Palestinians in Washington. Any deal with the Palestinians would involve Israel pulling out of much of the West Bank; unlike the Golan Heights, the Old City and East Jerusalem, also captured in 1967, Israeli law was never extended to the area.

The bill reinforces an earlier law, passed in 2010, that requires the government to obtain a two-thirds Knesset majority or public approval via a referendum in order to sign away any Israeli territory. It aims to make the referendum bill a semi-constitutional Basic Law, putting it beyond the reach of the Supreme Court, which can theoretically strike down any regular law.

It still must be reviewed by the Knesset House Committee and faces two more readings, which will likely take place during the Knesset’s winter session, before it can be signed into law.

During a stormy debate in the plenum, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took the lectern to admonish MK Jamal Zahalke for an insult the United Arab List MK had hurled at Strategic Affairs and International Relations Minister Yuval Steinitz (Likud).

“You’re an enemy of peace,” Zahalke said to Steinitz. “We were here before you and we’ll be here after you’re gone.”

Despite the late hour — it was almost 3 a.m. — Netanyahu, apparently interpreting Zahalke’s “we” to mean Arabs and “you” to mean Jews, requested permission to speak and then retorted, saying, “I heard MK Zahalke’s statement. The first part is untrue, and the second won’t come true.”

Zahalke explained that he hadn’t been referring to Steinitz or the Jews, but rather, “I meant that we’ll remain after racism is gone.”

The bill is being championed by Economy and Trade Minister Naftali Bennett and his Jewish Home party, with the full backing of Netanyahu, who last week said that “A diplomatic agreement that doesn’t have the public’s support, doesn’t deserve to be signed.”

Despite the fact that Netanyahu’s support for the bill basically guaranteed it would pass, Bennett threatened to withdraw his party’s support for the government’s 2013-14 budget proposal if the legislation wasn’t advanced. The budget was endorsed by the Knesset earlier this week.

Within Netanyahu’s coalition, the bill was panned by Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who’s heading up peace talks with the Palestinians, and MK Avigdor Liberman, the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman and head of the hawkish Yisrael Beytenu, who has referred to referendums as a way for “decision makers to avoid responsibility.”

Livni was one of the authors of the original 2010 referendum bill.

Surveys have indicated that there’s a majority among Israelis for a withdrawal as part of a peace deal with the Palestinians.

And THAT is the situation in Israel.

Zahalke knew exactly what he was saying, which was trying to insert a straw man false argument in defense of Islam. Unless of course he means "we", as in him and others are Canaanites. It's amazing how these Islamic minions selectively go back in history only so far, and when they do, they twist historical facts. Some religion!  Roll Eyes

Netanyahu is correct on both counts. The archeological record is proving it more and more, and prophecy guarantees it.

Yes, I realize he isn't the AC, but it's interesting how close we are in the timeline of things to come.

Well, this is rather significant progress right here. No, not saying this means anything(and talks could very well break down again), but nonetheless...

First 26 pre-Oslo prisoners to go free on August 13, PA says

Livni: Talks to resume in Jerusalem, Palestinians are ‘serious’ about the process

Israel is set to release a fist group of 26 long-serving Palestinian prisoners on August 13, the Palestinian Authority’s chief negotiator Saeb Erekat told the Palestinians news agency Ma’an on Saturday.

Erekat also confirmed that Israel has agreed to release 104 Palestinian prisoners who have been serving sentences since before the 1993 Oslo Accords in four phases as the new peace talks progress.

Justice Minister and chief negotiator Tzipi Livni (Hatnua) had told Channel 10 Friday that the next round of talks between Israel and the Palestinians would be held in Israel in the second week of August, and that some Palestinian prisoners would be freed by then.

Israel Radio reported Saturday morning that the talks are due to recommence on August 14.

The Israeli government on Sunday established a ministerial committee to handle the prisoner releases. The releases will be individually scrutinized, and leave given for opponents to appeal the releases to the Israeli Supreme Court, which is deemed unlikely to intervene.

Former foreign minister Avigdor Liberman (Yisrael Beytenu), for his part, told Channel 10 on Saturday that “there is no chance” of the new talks achieving an accord, “and anybody with a brain knows it.”

Livni said she believed the Palestinians were serious about the process, and that both sides ought to have a good sense already of “roughly how the talks should end.” She said the sides had agreed on alternating venues for the talks — which resumed in Washington on Monday-Tuesday after a three-year hiatus — as they progress over coming months.

“We and the Palestinians both determined that the first meetings would be held once in Israel and once in the Palestinian Authority … we want to do it directly (and close to home). The next meeting will be in the second week of August in Israel,” she said.

“The release [of the first group of Palestinian prisoners] will take place between now and the second week of August,” she added.

Livni also addressed the 9-month timetable for talks announced last week during the first round of negotiations in the US, telling the channel that the timeline was of less importance.

“All the relevant sides have a vested interest in an agreement. If [the talks] are serious and we’re at the eighth month and we find that we need more time, then of course we will carry on talking. If after a month, we see it’s not serious, then why carry on talking for the next eight?

“It is my impression that the Palestinians are serious — this is a test for them… Anybody who enters the [negotiating] room knows roughly how the talks should end.” said Livni.

Last week, Israel approved the phased release of the 104 Palestinian prisoners in order to facilitate the resumption of peace talks, a move that drew criticism from those on the right of the political spectrum, many of whom see the freeing of convicted murderers and terrorists as a price too high to pay for a return to the talks. Others regard it as a necessary evil, meeting a Palestinian demand to enable the resumption of negotiations.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that approving the releases was a deeply painful decision, but one that served the wider interests of the state.

The parties held their first talks in three years in Washington last week, brokered by US Secretary of State John Kerry who traveled to the region no fewer than six times in recent months to get the sides to agree to a renewal of talks.

On Thursday, President Barack Obama called Netanyahu and  Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to praise both leaders for their roles in the resumption of talks. He also reportedly urged them to “move fast” and make “speedy progress” toward a permanent accord.

The US has indicated that it intends to remain involved and follow developments very closely. Last week, Kerry announced the appointment of former ambassador Martin Indyk to serve as US envoy for Mideast peace and the top American negotiator for the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks.

They do a conciliatory prisoner swap every few years every time they get down to talks. The release itself is nothing new.
