Yep starting a fire isnt as easy as people think. I just think there are some skill sets that are needed, not just for those who have to survive a 7 year hell on Earth.

Some basic stuff to do is really simple. All you need is some wax from a candle.

you melt the wax, usually by just letting the candle burn,  then just take some regualer wood matches and dip the tips in the wax, let the wax cool and set it aside and do another. Usually there are 20 maches to a box, but wht you are doing is water proofing the tip. When you need to use the match just scrape off the wax and your good to go.

another tip with wax is to take dryer lint from your dryer. The stuff you throw away. well cut it in strips and roll it up, only a couple inches long. Then take the melted wax, you need a bit of melted was here, and dip the lint in the wax and cover it. You want it kind of thik, and its messy and hot, so be careful. But what you get is a long burning fire starter that is super water proof. These work great, ive used them in the field.




Another good idea for fire starters, is to take cotton balls, and cover them with petroleum jelly. Excellent starters.
