The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. FIRST-EVER TELEVISED EXORCISM THIS HALLOWEEN CELEBRATES 66TH ANNIVERSARY OF ‘THE EXORCIST’
7/30/15

DESTINATION AMERICA IS TAKING THE REALITY TELEVISION GENRE TO A PLACE IT’S NEVER BEEN BEFORE, BY AIRING AN EXORCISM LIVE ON TV, WITH “EXORCISM: LIVE!” IN OCTOBER.

“And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.” Revelation 9:6 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: Over the past few years, America has become obsessed with dark things, even Pope Francis can’t stop talking about performing exorcisms. Just  last weekend, an 8 foot high statue of Baphomet was unveiled and hundreds bowed down to worship it. The Age of Grace is nearly at an end now, and what is waiting in the wings is truly frightening. But if you know Jesus as your Saviour, you can miss the coming time of Great Tribulation.

“Exorcism: Live!” will air in October, just in time for Halloween, and to commemorate the 66th anniversary of “The Exorcist.” The event will follow the Tennessee Wraith Chasers, as well as the psychic medium Chip Coffey as they search through the Exorcist House, using state of the art technology to do daytime and nighttime investigations, documenting as much evidence as they can of demonic entities on live TV.

“As we step into one of the most haunted and well-known spirit destinations in America, ‘Exorcism: Live!” will show exactly what is inside this infamous, highly dangerous and possessed home.” said Marc Etkind, general manager of Destination America, in a statement. “By actually exorcising this iconic house live, Destination America will do what it does best — bringing never before seen experiences to television.”

Jesuit Priest Georges Lemaître Invented The Big Bang Theory
8/6/15

Most people don't know but it was a Vatican Jesuit priest Georges Lemaître, that came up with the big bang theory. The Jesuit priest was a colleague of Albert Einstein. So it's no wonder when Pope Francis says he believes in the 'Big Bang Theory' and evolution.

Portland, Oregon, Catholic school changes gay hiring policy after backlash

PORTLAND, Ore. (Reuters) - A Catholic high school in Portland, Oregon, has reversed its policy on gay employees after receiving a public backlash for refusing to hire a woman because she is a lesbian, school officials said on Thursday.

The school board of the all-girls St. Mary's Academy voted unanimously late Wednesday to add sexual orientation to its equal employment opportunity policy.

The school had come under fire after it last month withdrew plans to give Lauren Brown a job as a counselor because of her sexual orientation.

Brown had accepted the job in the spring but was told by the school in July that she would not get it because of her "impending marriage to a same-sex partner," according to Brown's attorney, Gloria Trainor.

Brown is not engaged and has no plans to marry anytime soon, Trainor said.

Some students at the school launched an online protest in support of Brown after the details of the withdrawal emerged this week.

A major donor to the school, Tim Boyle, chief executive officer of Columbia Sportswear Co, had also condemned the decision and told a local newspaper there was no place in the workplace for discrimination based on sexual orientation.

"The news this week is an example of how to not prepare students," Boyle told the Oregonian in an interview published before the school updated its employment policy.

School officials said they are talking to parents, students and staff about the situation so that "healing within our community can begin."

St. Mary's Academy President Christina Friedhoff said in a statement the school welcomes and includes gay and lesbian students, faculty, alumnae, parents and friends, "including those that are married."

"We are proud of our work preparing the next generation of women leaders for service and leadership. We are still deeply committed to our Catholic identity," she said.

The school has already offered another candidate the position, Friedhoff added, but she said they would reach out to Brown and that the school is "open to further discussions with her about reconciliation."

Trainor said Brown turned down the school's initial offer of one year's salary to settle the matter. She would not comment on what future steps her client might take.

The attorney said Brown has a "guarded optimism" about broad change, and that she hopes the school and the Catholic Church will one day support "full and equal rights" for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

http://m.mlb.com/news/article/152329548/justine-siegal-first-female-coach-in-majors
A's hire first female coach in MLB history
Siegal to serve as guest instructor in instructional league

9/29/15

The name of the national organization Justine Siegal founded is called "Baseball For All," a fitting title considering she just got a new job that, before now, had only been offered to men.

The A's announced on Tuesday that Siegal, who a few years ago became the first woman to throw batting practice for a Major League team, will serve as a guest instructor for the club's 2015 instructional league. Siegal will work with players Oct. 4-17 at the Lew Wolff Training Complex in Mesa, Ariz.

"This was a great moment," Siegal said. "I feel qualified for this job. I have a lot to learn, but I feel I've worked my way up the ranks. I can't stress enough how thankful I am for the opportunity."

The A's are the first Major League team to hire a female coach. In 2009, Siegal also became the first woman to be hired as a coach at any professional level, when she served as first-base coach for the Brockton Rox, an independent baseball team.

She also served as an assistant coach for the baseball team at Springfield College from 2008-10.

"We're thrilled that Justine will be joining us for instructional league," said A's assistant general manager David Forst, "She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise from years of playing, coaching, and teaching the game, and all of our young players stand to benefit greatly from her time in camp."

Siegal's skill set is multi-layered and extends beyond the more traditional backgrounds many coaches bring to a team. She holds a Ph.D. in sport and exercise psychology from Springfield College, and an M.A. from Kent State University in sport studies. This part of her training makes her a logical resource in a setting like instructional league, where players split time between working on their craft on the diamond and learning about it in a classroom setting.

"There's field time and classroom time," Siegal said. "That's a normal part of the routine. Throwing batting practice, hitting fungos, a little bit of a classroom time. ... I'll do whatever they need."

Siegal has worked with the A's before. In addition to throwing batting practice to them -- along with five other teams -- during Spring Training in 2011, she spoke with the organization while directing a program that emphasizes gender equity in sport for Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society, which promotes social justice and primary prevention education.

The A's were also one of several teams she worked with during MLB's league-wide domestic violence training.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, there is a chance the instructional league stint could lead to a full-time coaching job within the organization. The A's, according to the Chronicle report, don't have their Minor League coaching assignments set and do not yet know about possible job openings.

Siegal is also identified as one of the most prominent champions of girls' baseball and equality, among boys and girls, in the sport. Baseball For All, which she founded and serves as the head coach, is a national nonprofit organization whose mission it is to provide meaningful instruction and opportunity in baseball, especially for girls.

Last spring, Baseball For All organized the first national girls baseball tournament for girls ages 10-13 in Orlando, Fla., drawing hundreds of players from around the country.

Soon, Siegal head to Arizona for instructional league, to work with grown men -- another environment in which she's perfectly comfortable.
And she'll also be showing a generation of young people that doors, albeit slowly, are indeed opening.

"I was 16 when I told my coach I wanted to be a college baseball coach," Siegal said. "He laughed at me and said a man would never listen to a woman on a baseball field. That's when I decided I was going to get a Ph.D., prove them wrong.

"Since then, I've been able to coach at the college and pro level. They will listen to you when you know what you're doing and you can make them a better player and show that you care about them."

http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/2015-worst-persecution-of-christians-since-vaticans-spanish-inquisition/
2015 SAW THE WORST PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS SINCE THE VATICAN’S SPANISH INQUISITION
Open Doors, an organization founded in 1955 to assist persecuted Christians, publishes an annual “World Watch List,” documenting attacks on Christians and ranking the most hostile national environments for believers.

1/21/16

THE BRUTAL, WORLDWIDE PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS DURING THE PAST YEAR MAKES 2015 ONE OF “THE MOST VIOLENT AND SUSTAINED ATTACK ON CHRISTIAN FAITH IN MODERN HISTORY,” ACCORDING TO A WATCHDOG ORGANIZATION THAT HAS BEEN MONITORING CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION FOR DECADES.

“Anyone who attempts to construe a personal view of God which conflicts with Church dogma must be burned without pity” Pope Innocent III

“And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.” Revelation 17:6 (KJV)

When the Roman Catholic Church was founded by the pagan Roman Emperor Constantine at the Council of Nicaea in 325 A.D., it immediately achieved expansive influence at all levels of the imperial government. As Bible believing Christians separated themselves from the Church of Rome, which they saw as apostate, they represented a formidable potential threat to the official new imperial religion. Persecution in varying degrees of severity was instituted over the centuries following.

The Inquisition was an ecclesiastical court and process of the Roman Catholic Church setup for the purpose towards the discovery and punishment of heresy which wielded immense power and brutality in medieval and early modern times. The Inquisitions function was principally assembled to repress all heretics of rights, depriving them of their estate and assets which became subject to the ownership of the Catholic treasury, with each relentlessly sought to destroy anyone who spoke, or even thought differently to the Catholic Church. This system for close to over six centuries became the legal framework throughout most of Europe that orchestrated one of the most confound religious orders in the course of mankind.

IN OUR DAY, THE INQUISITION AGAINST CHRISTIANS IS STILL BEING CARRIED ON BUT THIS TIME BY MUSLIMS IN THE MIDDLE EAST INSTEAD OF BY THE CATHOLIC CHURCH FROM ROME.

Open Doors, an organization founded in 1955 to assist persecuted Christians, publishes an annual “World Watch List,” documenting attacks on Christians and ranking the most hostile national environments for believers.

“The 2016 World Watch List documents an unprecedented escalation of violence against Christians, making this past year the most violent and sustained attack on Christian faith in modern history,” Open Doors CEO David Curry said at the rollout of the list.

PERSECUTION IN “CONTINUING TO INCREASE, INTENSIFY AND SPREAD ACROSS THE GLOBE,” HE SAID.

At the top of the Watch List, for the 14th consecutive year, stands North Korea, where an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 Christians are imprisoned in labor camps. Carrying on as one of the last holdouts of Communist totalitarianism, North Korea bears a particular hatred for Christians, who are a constant reminder of accountability to a higher power than the state.

“Christianity is not only seen as ‘opium for the people’ as is normal for all communist states,” the report says. “It is also seen as deeply Western and despicable.” During 2015, thousands of Christians living in North Korea were forced to renounce their faith or flee under threat of death.

As in the case with last year’s report, the vast majority of countries experiencing acute Christian persecution are Muslim nations. In 2015, nine out of the top ten countries where Christians suffer “extreme persecution” had populations that are at least 50 percent Muslim, a phenomenon replicated in 2016.

The 2015 report found that “Islamic extremism is by far the most significant persecution engine” of Christians in the world today and that “40 of the 50 countries on the World Watch List are affected by this kind of persecution.”

The 2016 list places Iraq in second place, immediately after North Korea, with horrific Islamic violence dominating news headlines during 2015. Throughout the year, Christians were forced to flee their homes by the thousands or be killed.

Just this week, the United Nations released an extensive report on Islamic State violence in Iraq, and estimates that ISIS currently holds some 3,500 people, mostly women and children, in the country.

THE REPORT, JOINTLY ISSUED BY U.N. ASSISTANCE MISSION FOR IRAQ AND U.N. HUMAN RIGHTS OFFICE IN GENEVA, DECLARED ISIS ATROCITIES IN IRAQ TO BE “WAR CRIMES, CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY, AND POSSIBLY GENOCIDE.”

Some of the crimes described in the report include executions by shooting, beheading, bulldozing, burning alive and throwing people off the top of buildings. The other nations making the top ten in Christian persecution are Eritrea, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, Somalia, Sudan, Iran, and Libya, all of which have Muslim majorities.

The report underscores the geographical extent of Christian persecution, and Curry highlighted the global nature of the problem, noting that it has become more acute not just in a few isolated regions, but “in every continent in every country.”

“The levels of exclusion, discrimination and violence against Christians is unprecedented, spreading and intensifying,” Curry added. “Christians, longing to stay in their home countries, are being forced to flee for their lives and for their children’s lives,” he said. source

I don't support the beliefs of the guy speaking, as he is part of the Seventh Day Adventist cult, but this short summary of what happened to one of Lincoln's assassin is interesting. The first woman executed in the US, Mary Surratt's son John, was a Catholic and was saved from getting caught early on by Catholics.

First on CNN: Religious leaders slam Clinton campaign over emails

Washington (CNN)Catholic and evangelical groups slammed Hillary Clinton's campaign in a statement Thursday over comments revealed in the WikiLeaks emails hack between two high-level campaign officials.

Dozens of religious leaders who signed the statement expressed their "outrage at the demeaning and troubling rhetoric used by those within Secretary Clinton's campaign."

The statement is referring to a 2011 email between campaign chairman John Podesta, whose email was hacked, and communications director Jennifer Palmieri and John Halpin, a senior fellow at the liberal think tank Center for American Progress.

Palmieri doesn't recognize controversial email about Catholics
In the email, Halpin wrote that 21st Century Fox Chairman Rupert Murdoch and NewsCorp Chairman Robert Thomson, who are both Catholic, are attracted to the faith because of "systemic thought and severely backward gender relations."

Palmieri responded: "I imagine they think it is the most socially acceptable, politically conservative religion -- their rich friends wouldn't understand if they became evangelical."

The religious leaders said in the statement, "Podesta's refusal to raise any objection makes him equally party to this bigotry. It is inexcusable. It is shameful. It is un-American."

WikiLeaks has not released all of Podesta's hacked emails and CNN has not been able to verify that they are his, so it's unclear if he raised any objection.

Palmieri -- who is Catholic, according to campaign spokesman Brian Fallon -- told reporters Wednesday that she "didn't recognize (the email) but moreover ... we are not going to fact check each of the emails that were stolen, hacked by Russian lead efforts in an effort to hurt our campaign."

The statement ends with the leaders asking that Clinton immediately apologize for the comments of her aides.

"The WikiLeaks emails reveal a contempt for all traditional Christians, and we are -- Catholic and Evangelical -- united in our outrage and united in our call for Mrs. Clinton to immediately apologize for the Christophobic behavior of her associates," the statement said.

A Christian conservative backlash against Trump seems to be building

In recent elections, casting a vote for president has been a straightforward matter for Phyllis Woods. The former Republican representative from Dover, N.H., an observant Catholic who is strongly opposed to abortion, said the Republican nominee has always represented her values.

But this year?

“Oh boy. Wow,” she said. “Our religious leaders, as well as all of our pro-life people, are all over the board, in dismay. Every place I go, people say, ‘Who are we going to vote for? What are we going to do?’ ”

She says they’re not tempted to vote for Hillary Clinton, a Democrat who champions abortion rights and defends Planned Parenthood. But she said they’re struggling over whether to back Trump, who Woods has long seen as “mocking and disrespectful and insulting,” as well as less qualified than his primary rivals.

The release of an explosive 2005 videotape in which Trump spoke in crude and sexually aggressive terms about women has only deepened fissures among cultural conservatives. So have the accounts of several women who subsequently said Trump assaulted them in the past, allegations Trump denies.

Some evangelical leaders urged voters to look past Trump’s offensive behavior.

“Five years from now when we’re sitting here and we see all the Constitution being ripped apart by justices (appointed by Clinton), nobody is going to remember what horrible things Donald Trump said over a decade ago,” Jerry Falwell Jr., president of Liberty University, said last week, according to the Religion News Service.

Others criticized that kind of thinking.

“Enthusiasm for a candidate like Trump gives our neighbors ample reason to doubt that we believe Jesus is Lord,” wrote Andy Crouch, executive editor of Christianity Today, an evangelical magazine founded by Billy Graham, in a sharply worded editorial entitled “Speak Truth to Trump.” “They see that some of us are so self-interested, and so self-protective, that we will ally ourselves with someone who violates all that is sacred to us — in hope, almost certainly a vain hope given his mendacity and record of betrayal, that his rule will save us.”

And a backlash against Trump, especially among evangelical millennials and women, seems to be building.

A group of Liberty University students published a scathing response to Falwell, writing that Falwell’s “we’re all sinners” line of argument sounded “as if sexual assault is a shoulder-shrugging issue rather than an atrocity which plagues college campuses across America, including our own.”

Thus far, white evangelical Christians have made up a crucial block of Trump’s base. A PRRI/The Atlantic survey of likely voters taken Oct. 5-9 — which included the day the videotape surfaced and two days of fallout — found that 65 percent of white evangelicals still favored Trump, compared to just 16 percent backing Clinton.

But the evangelical community is increasingly diverse — racially, theologically, and otherwise. And in a recent petition, scores of evangelical leaders said they “simply will not tolerate the racial, religious, and gender bigotry that Donald Trump has consistently and deliberately fueled.” The petition now boasts more than 20,000 signatures on Change.org.

A Barna Group survey published before the women’s assault allegations arose found that although evangelical Christians overwhelmingly prefer Trump to Clinton, four in 10 would not commit to either candidate, and 1 in 8 said they planned to vote for a third-party or independent candidate. Barna said the dissatisfaction with the major party nominees “is unique over the course of the last nine election cycles.”

Many Roman Catholics are equally distressed about choosing between Trump, who has cast Mexican immigrants as rapists, and Clinton, who wants to repeal the Hyde Amendment, which prevents the federal Medicaid program from paying for abortions.

“If you think the unborn ought to be protected and the undocumented ought to be welcomed, it’s not obvious where you ought to go,” said John Carr, the director of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University.

Catholics whose political views align closely with the church’s social teachings often feel politically homeless, scholars said. Neither party fully captures the church’s opposition to abortion, the death penalty, and gay marriage, as well as its commitment to welcoming immigrants and caring for the poor.

Accordingly, Carr said, the Catholic vote normally splits about 40 percent Democratic and 40 percent Republican; the remaining 20 percent, he said, is “the last swing vote in America.”

But Trump has alienated many Catholics, an increasing percentage of whom are Hispanic. The PRRI/The Atlantic survey showed him lagging 21 points behind Clinton among Catholic voters.

“I don’t think any Catholic can countenance the kind of language that Trump uses to categorize immigrants and women,” said Mathew Schmalz, a religious studies professor at the College of the Holy Cross.

The Rev. James Bretzke, a theologian at Boston College, said that given the immense political and legal challenges involved with banning abortion, and given data showing abortions have actually been fewer in Democratic administrations, “I don’t think you can make a credible case that if you are pro-life you have to vote Republican.”

He pointed to Pope Francis’ advice to US voters earlier this month — “Study the proposals well, pray, and choose in conscience.”

“He’s saying ‘Vote your conscience,’ ” Bretzke said. “He is not saying, as some of the bishops and certainly many right-wing priests are saying, ‘A correctly formed Catholic conscience can only vote for Trump.’ ”

Republicans, however, are pouncing on internal Clinton campaign e-mails newly released by WikiLeaks that include a 2011 conversation between Clinton’s current communications director, Jennifer Palmieri, and a fellow at a liberal think tank, John Halpin.

In the exchange, Halpin scorned conservative Catholic converts as enamored of the church’s “severely backward gender dynamics.” Palmieri, who was then working for the Center for American Progress, replied that they must see Catholicism as “the most socially acceptable politically conservative religion” adding: “Their rich friends wouldn’t understand if they became evangelicals.”

House Speaker Paul Ryan, who is Catholic, said the Clinton campaign’s “disdain for the Catholic faith and Christian evangelicals is staggering.”

Jean B. Healey of Braintree, a Catholic who left the Democratic Party years ago over its support for legalized abortion, said she is so dismayed by both Clinton and Trump that she’ll probably support Libertarian Gary Johnson, who says he’s personally opposed to abortion but believes government should stay out of the issue.

She has supported Republicans in recent elections, but Trump, she said, “doesn’t have the dignity, doesn’t have the humility, he doesn’t have the sensitivity of the needs of the people. The fact that he discriminates against women, against black people — he’s just not a good person.”

But a number other Catholics for whom abortion is a major concern said in interviews that they would stick with Trump.

“I compare the video” of Trump talking about grabbing women’s genitals “to a video I have seen of an abortion,” said Sharon Keefe, an anti-abortion activist and observant Catholic from Wilmington. “I compare it to 59 million lives already lost that nobody seems to care about.”

Woods, too, has resigned herself to supporting Trump in the hope that he’ll follow through on his promise to choose Supreme Court justices in the mold of Antonin Scalia and because she admires his running mate, Governor Mike Pence, an evangelical Christian.

But with polls showing support for Trump eroding, Woods is worried.

“We have so many people that are qualified and talented and gifted from which to choose,” said Woods, who supported Scott Walker and then Marco Rubio in the primary. “And we chose the one who does not have those qualities.”

The guilt-free gospel of Donald Trump

(CNN)Donald Trump was ashamed -- contrite even -- as he spoke to Paula White hours after the video of him bragging about groping women was released.

"I heard it in his voice," said White, a Florida pastor who, outside of Trump's family, is his closest spiritual confidant. "He was embarrassed."
In the video from 2005, Trump admits to hitting on a married woman and boasts that he can wantonly kiss women and grope their genitals because he is a "star."

During his phone call with White, the GOP nominee said he regretted his remarks and was grateful for the evangelicals still supporting him. Later that evening, he publicly apologized in a video that was remarkably free from the usual rituals enacted by disgraced politicians.

Trump didn't stand beside his wife, Melania. He didn't ask for forgiveness. He didn't lament that he had fallen under sin's sway but that by God's grace and with his family's support he hoped to earn a second chance. In fact, Trump didn't mention faith, family or reconciliation at all.

"If he suddenly came out all religious, that would seem staged to me," said White, who has known Trump for 14 years. "Donald has never been public about his faith, and when he has tried, it has been futile. It's not his language, but that doesn't mean it's not his heart."

For much of the 2016 presidential campaign, religion has receded into the background, mainly because the two major party nominees -- Trump and Hillary Clinton -- rarely talk about their faith. Trump is a professed Presbyterian; Clinton a Methodist.

But two-thirds of Americans have said it's important for the president of the United States to have strong religious convictions, according to the Pew Research Center. And nearly 40% say discussion of religion has been lacking in this election cycle. Beyond the policy discussions and ad hominem attacks, it seems, Americans want to know where candidates' moral compasses point.

Trump's attempts at public religion have been awkward, at best.
He said he does not ask for forgiveness and "does not bring God into that picture" when he makes mistakes. He has tried to put money in the Communion plate and referred to the sacrament as "my little wine" and "my little cracker." He mispronounced a book of the Bible, and when asked about his favorite verse, has either deferred or, in one case, cited "an eye for an eye," an Old Testament revenge scheme specifically condemned by Christ. (Turn the other cheek, Jesus said.)

Trump tussled with the Pope and was shushed by a minister in Detroit. He often looks uneasy when pastors lay their hands on him and pray. He says he is proud of his evangelical support but not sure he deserves it.

When asked theological questions, Trump often speaks in terms so vague they approach opacity.

Asked "Who is God to you?" by the Christian Broadcasting Network, Trump answered "God is the ultimate," then began a brief spiel about how he got a great deal on a golf course before circling back to his original definition. "So nobody, no thing, no there's nothing like God."

Trump's broad language often serves a purpose, says Michael D'Antonio, author of "The Truth About Trump," a biography. "Donald keeps his options open. He make things mysterious and unclear so that he can say anything else at another time."

Trump's supporters have a different explanation. Trump is a businessman, not a pastor. He doesn't have practiced answers about religious questions, nor should he be expected to, they say. But that doesn't mean he's irreligious. (Trump's campaign did not respond to several interview requests.)

"I think people are shocked when they find out that I am Christian, that I am a religious person," Trump writes in "Great Again," a book published during the presidential campaign. "They see me with all the surroundings of wealth, so they sometimes don't associate that with being religious. That's not accurate."

Matthew 10:32  Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 10:33  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.
