September 24, 2017, 10:45:16 pm Psalm 51:17 says: The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the league rulebook. It states: “The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem. “During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

Aluminum is a known neurotoxin that destroys cellular metabolism and function. Hundreds of studies link to the ravaging effects of aluminum. The other proteins and formaldehyde serve to activate the immune system and open up the blood-brain barrier. This is NOT a good thing."

OK, first off, I'm NOT saying that b/c we are saved, we have the right to do all the wrong our heart's desire. But nonetheless, I'm bringing this up b/c of my experiences in Churchianity for years and years and years.

(KJB)
1Peter 2:1  Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
1Pe 2:2  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
1Pe 2:3  If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

(NIV)
1 Peter 2:1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.
1 Peter 2:2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,
1 Peter 2:3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

First off, look at verse 1 - "laying aside" and "rid yourselves" - again, I'm NOT trying to entice everyone here saying "it's ok for Christians to have this kind of behavior", BUT nonetheless let's look at the MEANING OF THE TEXT here. The former is from the KJB, and the latter is from the NIV. This is a HUGE difference b/c if, let's say, you have a big stack of dirty dishes and utensils in your sink, do you wash them and put them away, or do they go in the trash bin?

See what I'm trying to get at here? Ultimately, if anyone thinks being Christians mean they have to live sin-less lives, they are going to be in for a big disappointment. Yes, we should avoid having evil thoughts of deceit, hypocrisy, envy, slander, etc, but that doesn't mean these evil thoughts will just disappear into thin air.

Romans 7:18  For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
Rom 7:19  For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
Rom 7:20  Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
Rom 7:21  I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
Rom 7:22  For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Rom 7:23  But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
Rom 7:24  O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
Rom 7:25  I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.

And this passage describes Jesus Christ, and NOT believers, as you see in vs 22...

1Peter 2:21  For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
1Pe 2:22  Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Again, maybe I'm pushing it a bit here, but nonetheless thought I would bring this up b/c of my years and years and years in Churchianity, they acted like you need to overcome all of your sins, after you are saved, in order for you to become a blessed and a changed person.

Look at vs. 2...

1) desire vs crave - BIG difference! If anything, crave is very juvenile.

2) grow thereby vs grow up(in your salvation) - BIG difference! The NIV is saying once you're "grown up", then you are mature and needing nothing. Hhhhmmm...sounds like the church of the Laodiceans?

Rev 3:14  And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15  I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16  So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17  Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

As for vs 3 - the NIV omitted GRACE! BIG omission!

When you compare 1 Peter 2:1 with verse 1 of this passage...

Hebrews 12:1  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Heb 12:2  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Heb 12:3  For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
