Why are we still listening to Cooley who teaches no pre-trib rapture (Entitled "Christology" vid) ?
I understand what you're saying - however, there are very doctrines that are just as important, if not more crucial that ministries and churches by and large are turning a blind eye to. I posted this on another thread, but here goes again...
As much as we're pre-trib here, let's not forget other VERY important fundamental doctrines that ministries are asleep on now...
1) Christology - the Godhead according to what the scriptures say about it - VERY crucial doctrine. Now I'm hearing KJB ministries DENYING Jesus Christ's LORDship. It's as if they've become JWs now!
2) Repentance - now this watered-down/repentance-less/non-changed life gospel has hit fundamentalism circles. Pretty soon, fundamentalism will have to accept sodomite "christians" so they can be consistent with their beliefs.
3) The family unit - VERY crucial doctrine. Strong biblical families = strong local NT churches. Now in our present day, we have WEAK local NT churches? Judgment MUST begin at the house of God! Bottom line - we all have ONLY ONE chance to train up our children in the way they should go. And ONE chance to firmly establish our households on biblical principles.
4) Doctrines that deal with the individual's HEART - no, I'm not talking about those directed at lost people, but to the SAVED. The million dollar question for all of us daily is..."Is your heart right with God?". From my experiences, a saved person falling out of fellowship with the LORD is WORSE than a lost person going about his business. B/c for a born-again believer to backslide and fall out of fellowship with the LORD is almost like living life as hell on earth. (No, salvation won't be lost, but you know what I mean here)
5) Hyper-Dispensationalism - the heresy that pushes how Hebrews - Jude + Rev are for another set of people in another dispensation period, and even worse they also push the idea that Matthew - John are OT books (never mind the fact that these are EYEWITNESSES ACCOUNTS of what Jesus Christ did on the cross, that START THE FOUNDATION of the rest of the NT scriptures!). And not to mention too Psalm, Proverbs, and other OT books are CRUCIAL for our salvation walk. Sadly, a lot of the "prominent" rapture teachers have pushed this false doctrine.
And FWIW too - like I said, I am firmly pre-trib. But the yesteryear evangelists like Spurgeon, Matthew Henry, John Gill, etc were NOT pre-trib (and they weren't anti-Jewish either). I'm not defending them or anything, but at the same time we have to be very careful over whom we label as heretics and Jesuits, just b/c they happen not to be pre-trib or what not.
And as I was saying - there are other very crucial doctrines ministries are willfully ignorantly turning a blind eye to now (as mentioned above). Anyone can be pre-trib until they're blue in the face, but straying away from these other crucial doctrines can really shipwreck one's faith.
